I am writing to share feedback about my experience earlier today, as it left me quite disappointed and uncomfortable. I ordered a T-bone steak with eggs and hash browns, requesting that the steak be cooked rare. When my meal arrived, the steak was well-done, with no pink. I politely asked for it to be redone. The second steak, however, was undercooked to the point of being essentially raw and barely seared. When I requested that it be taken back, my server responded with a dismissive tone, stating, "Well, that's what you ordered," while displaying visible frustration. I calmly clarified that I had ordered rare, not raw. At that point, I was told a manager needed to be involved due to the two returned steaks. Unfortunately, the interaction with the manager was also disappointing. He appeared irritated and insisted the steak was prepared rare, offering only to put it back on the grill briefly. Given the circumstances and my growing discomfort, I declined and requested that the meal be removed from my bill. While the manager did apologize, it felt perfunctory. He then took the steak and discarded it with noticeable force, which further added to the uncomfortable atmosphere. I understand that mistakes can happen in any kitchen, but the way this situation was handled, from the dismissive responses to the lack of professionalism, made me feel unfairly treated as a customer. read more

Came for breakfast this morning and overall experience was so so. Took a while to be seated even though there were plenty of open tables. I think the problem was the line to pay and line to be seated were the same so I had to wait for everyone in front of me to pay before I could tell them how many in my party. Food took a while to come out and wasn't too good. The sausage tasted really weird to me. Only thing I liked was the hash brown. Think I will pass returning to this location in the future. read more

This Dennys is located in the historic Van de Kamp building in Arcadia. The interior is remodeled and is still clean and relatively new. The three star Yelp average is probably about right for this business and here's why ... The food prices, quality, and quantity are abut in keeping with their history and relative to other comparable restaurants like McDonalds. For example, MickyD's hotcakes are probably cheaper, but Dennys has better quality but not as good as more expensive places like Broken Yolk, but about the same as IHOP. The service was mixed. There were three men helping everyone when we got there and they were joined by a younger lady later who just worked the register. The seater and busboy seemed like they should be retired and it was sad they were still working. The waiter was overworked and serving too many tables. Consequently, service was slow even though he was working really hard. We do not blame him one bit. He did the best he could. Overall, we would not come here again. It is just not like the historic Denny's of the past. Parking is in the back with an ample lot. Come before 8:00-8:30 or so before they get crowded on the weekends. read more

Today is New Year's Eve and the end of 2024, they are still open for lunch (not sure if they are actually open 24/7). We wanted to grab our free birthday meal using the Debby's reward program. I ordered in store before I realized I can either order online or in person. The place looks really festive during the holidays. They renovated it and it's different from other Dennys. The staff helping us was really quick and friendly, ordered and got our receipt. We only had to wait 20-30 minutes and off we went! It came with plastic utensils, two pancakes, two syrups, two butter cups, eggs (scrambled), sausage, and bacon. What's better than breakfast for lunch? Free birthday breakfast for lunch! read more

Without a doubt, this Denny's is the best. The location had a lot of parking and the windmill was totally. Our so loves Denny's and it was a cool experience for him. Our server and the manager were very kind and amazing. They definitely made our visit so much more memorable. We brought our newborn to this spot and they were very welcoming and helpful. We had a bad server named Francisco. He took our order. Like any other server does. I asked for hot sauce. He then walked away and never brought it. Then he avoided us the whole time we sat eating our food. I asked for coffee and again never came back. I noticed he got someone else order wrong. He takes his food away and make a face like it was the customer fault he got the order wrong. We payed our bill complaint to the manager on duty. He the say we was falling behind. I can understand if he was extremely busy. But he was not. If you get him good luck. If you have the pleasure of getting Jason he is a great server. read more

Stopped by for breakfast after picking up a friend who had a medical procedure. The dude was hungry and this was close. The server seated us right away and brought coffee asap. The food was good, my friend had the 9-Grain Pancake Slam and I ordered the All-America Slam with scrambled. The bacon was not as crispy as I would like, but good hash browns. This was my first visit after it re-opened. This Denny's is near and dear to the hearts of many Arcadians. The windmill, located on the corner of Santa Anita and Hungtington, is an iconic landmark in the city of Arcadia. We got here for an early dinner at 6pm and there as no wait. Our server Joselyn F, was friendly and attentive. We ordered mozzarella sticks, a club sandwich and a decaffeinated coffee. The club sandwich was delicious ! They didn't skimp on the ingredients and the seasoned fries were addictive. The mozzarella sticks were perfect too. I enjoyed the decaf house coffee too which she brewed a new pot just for me. The food was exactly what me and my daughter were craving for. The interior looked similar to what it looked like before the fire burnt the restaurant down (so I was told). In fact, I think there is a less of a greasy smell which I welcomed. And Joselyn even gave us an extra marina sauce to take home after I asked. I am happy that my neighborhood Denny's is not only back in business but back with better service and a cleaner smell! read more

Love the Van de Kamps windmill structure at this Arcadia Denny's; reminiscence of a beyond era. This location is VERY busy. Service is slow, but their staff are working very hard and are friendly. If you plan on grabbing a bite here, patience helps. Honestly, I almost walked out. I go to a nearby gym, and sometimes to my dentist just north of Denny's. A few months back I ordered their grilled cheese sandwich. It was amazing. I got the recipe from them. It is a good that that I did, because they just dropped it. I can't imagine why. Instead, this last time I ordered their pot roast sandwich, with a side of onion rings. Wow! Dennys always have good food and short wait times. Only thing about this Dennys location is they could work on is the service and cleanliness. The server guided us to our table and I instantly saw there were food crumbs and pieces on the booth seat. The server didn't seem to notice. Wasn't offered any water refills either. My wife and I usually go to the Denny's in Pasadena. However, our favorite server, Aracelli, no longer was working at this location, so we ventured out to the Denny's in Arcadia. The "windmill restaurant" has a welcoming environment with window views that surround the restaurant. Well...to make a long story short, we hit the jackpot! The food was very good, but what makes a restaurant for me is the customer service. Gladys, our server, gets a 10 with her excellent service! She also has a great sense of humor as she picked up on my jokes...especially my joke about avocado and mushrooms. (This is an inside joke that Glady's will understand). The service here is excellent. They really try to make your visit quick and convenient. The staff have always been very friendly whenever I come. As far as the food, it's just standard Dennys food. It's not the best food but it's a good place to just get a quick and easy bite with my kiddo. I finally made it here after waiting through a fire, COVID-19 and renovation. The restaurant is essentially brand new, including staff. The staff are A-Okay, but with no real pleasantries to share. I was able to snag a senior citizen special, and the son ordered essentially the same thing. I feel good that Age 55 is considered a senior citizen, so I made the cut and received a rather healthy meal at about 30 percent less than a normal order. I do wish they had more of a selection of breakfast items, such as corned beef hash or grits, but otherwise, the food was prepared in the right amount of time and taste. This location is a few blocks away from where I live. I was in the mood for a light meal before bed. I wake up at 3am for work. I walked in waited a few minutes then I showed the waitress my QR Code for my birthday dinner promo. She said no that's online. I told her it needs to be scanned. She told me to wait so I did I watched her serve a table then she came back to me and told me this is online. She said she can't help me insisted on placing the order online she seemed frustrated talking to me then a party of 5 was ready to pay their bill and she was trying to shew me away she giggled at the fact that I'm still there telling her she just needs to scan the QR code. I told her that she was rude and I walked away before exiting the door she said no she's not rude because it's me that didn't understand. Open 24 hrs. Restrooms are clean. Service is quick and friendly. No complaints here. The food came and tasted delicious. Everything was made to order. The design of the restaurant is a little kooky, but it gives it personality. I wish more Dennys were like this. Our waiter went above and beyond helping us. He even gave us drinks to go. So we went to dine on Monday arriving at 11am, we waited a long time to order after talking with several servers that we are ready but took forever to take order. Waited a good 10 minutes doing so. Once we ordered, we waited 30 minutes then server came back to ask what we ordered it appears they did not have the entire order down and it was never submitted for line. In the end, we spent nearly 48 minutes just to receive our food and on top of that, thank god we checked the bill because they charged double on our coffee when we ordered one. Very shady business practice, hoping customers would not notice the difference. During payment, we mentioned we waited nearly an hour for our food and the manager just brushed it off he was there as a transit manager that's all. Not even ONE apology was mentioned.
