Love coming here to eat with coworkers. They have the best friendly service and great tasting food. I often come here to grab a quick bite to eat before heading back into the office. The owner Genie is nice and always comes by and greet us regulars. I like how this place has good American breakfast and lunch foods as well as some fusion Korean foods. After a 4-mile hike with my Fit Body friends, one of them suggested we stop by Nano Café for breakfast and I'm so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home. They even brought us a warm cinnamon roll to share at the table, which was such a thoughtful and welcoming touch. I got the pancake combo and their pancakes are consistently delicious. The bacon was nice and crispy and the eggs were great topped with cheddar cheese. The workers are so nice and take the best care of you. The only warning I would give is don't sit on the patio if you are sensitive to sound because there is quite a bit of street noise there. We were staying at a hotel in the Monrovia/Pasadena area and asked the staff where we could a good breakfast (we missed the hotel breakfast by a few minutes). Nano Cafe was recommended above all the other local diners. The restaurant is small but has a comfortable, cute, screened patio with a lovely mural, and the April weather was perfect, so we sat outside. Walking through, we could see that the place was packed with a diverse crowd. The menu is extensive, and they have specials. I started with Korean iced coffee. My sis ordered the crepes with Nutella, banana, strawberries and cream, and I ordered the eggs Benedict, and we split both dishes. The Bennies were good, but the crepes were outstanding! They were dense, with just the right amount and combo of toppings. Sis (who is a chef) said "this is the perfect crepe." She said the thickness was perfect. Surprisingly, the crepes seemed substantial enough to get us through an afternoon of activity. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures once the food was here. Our server was friendly and helpful. Stopped in for my first time this past weekend and can honestly say the staff is some of the nicest that I have ever encountered but they forgot our order for a table of two after we placed it so after waiting 50 minutes, our breakfast finally came out. Inside is quite small, but they do have indoor seating as well as covered outdoor seating which is where we sat. There is another location up in Sierra Madre this location being the second. There is a small free parking lot attached so we were able to find a parking spot right out front. Otherwise, it will be free street neighborhood parking. As mentioned, the staff was extremely polite and very apologetic once they realized they forgot our order, and they even comped our drinks, which I think really made up for it. We weren't in a time rush, but otherwise waiting for 50 minutes for a couple of breakfast orders was a bit extreme. We ordered an omelette which was very large and tasty and a Bacon Benedict, which I really enjoyed. The eggs were done perfectly and it had some great flavors. We also tried a Cinnamon Roll and it was honestly great. The only issue that we had was the very long wait time for food. Otherwise it was a very nice experience. I would give this place another try in the future and would suggest if you are in the Monrovia or Sierra Madre area. read more

My meal was comforting and I love how my hashbrowns was cooked perfectly with the right amount of crispiness. My partner ordered the Pork Chop with scrambled eggs and a side of sourdough toast. He agrees with me on how delicious their hashbrowns were! He did note that the Pork Chop was on the drier side but he still liked the flavor, hence why we didn't fully give them a 5-star. It's so tasty. Seasoned well with a perfect balance of cheese and beef, it's definitely a bowl of hearty goodness in itself. The vegetable omelette is also really good. Packed with a mix of mushroom, spinach, carrots, zucchini, celery, squash, etc it is the perfect vegetarian omelette. Service can be challenging since they always seem to be very busy. I took my wife, granddaughter and her boyfriend after we church services were over. The staff was graciously friendly and greeted us with a smile. While we were being seated the owner (Jihnny) gave us menus. I told her it was our first time here and she ask "How did you know about this restaurant?" I said "I looked on Yelp and this was on the list of diners" she welcomed us and while looking over the menu a plate with cinnamon roll was put on our table andnour waitress says "From the owner, welcome and enjoy our fresh made food" it was delicious . About 4mins after talking our order food arrived. While we started eating every one including me, commented how delicious and fresh our food was and continued eating. Not many words were being said because the food was that great. The ambiance and decor fit the diner. People all around us were either locals and were having great conversations. I started scrolling and found Nano cafe.. so glad we decided on this quaint little cafe. We enjoyed the location and service, but the food was just ok. Came in on a Thursday before noon. Hubby ordered eggs over medium, bacon and pancakes. His breakfast was served a couple minutes before mine. Looked good, and I could smell his pancakes, so I was encouraged they would be amazing. The were good, basic. Pancakes are a preference food. I prefer mine on the dense side, more like a cake than airy & fluffy. I also like the pancake itself to have the sweetness, not dependent upon syrup absorption for flavor. Nano's pancakes tasted like a mix, light & airy, but not flavorful. The over easy eggs were perfectly cooked and the bacon strips looked yummy. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette and was disappointed. The "cheese" was 2 American single, processed squares. The ham seemed to be along the lines of a Danola processed ham. The omelette wasn't completely cooked, so runny in the center. My fries were thick cut, which I like, so I'll say those were yummy. I also got a biscuit, instead of toast. But, unfortunately, I'm not sure what kind of biscuit it was. No flavor and very crumbly. I didn't detect any buttermilk so, again, not sure if it was just flour, milk, baking soda, oil. We have been loyal patrons at Nano Cafe, it's homey, yummy, welcoming, and just a wonderful place to get a hearty brunch on a Saturday. They can be very busy, with seating indoors and on the patio all taken, but they do their best to seat everyone quickly. I also noticed that they have a lot of takeout orders or ubereats people lining up at the door too, so ask the person in front of you if they're in line for dine-in, but fyi the wait list system is like an honor system (there's not really a waitlist - everyone just kind of makes a mental note of where they are on the virtual waitlist). We like their corn beef hash a lot - it's literally the only thing my husband gets everytime we visit. I've tried different things on their menu: french toast, all of the benedicts, breakfast combo, omelets - and tbh they are all very very good. The portions are not intimidating but definitely filling. They have a special menu going on for July 4th, maybe give it a try. read more

Nano Cafe is a small mom and pop spoon in Monrovia. They were open on a very early Black Friday morning, so we strolled in. The shop was decorated as you would expect in an old diner. You could tell that this was a family affair. The patrons and staff all called each other by name. We all chatted across the restaurant, which was nice. We even came back the next morning on our way out of town. Mr. P had the oatmeal one day, and biscuits and gravy the next. He enjoyed both. I had avocado toast one day with poached eggs, and the mushroom avocado Benedict the next. I wasn't a fan of the Hollandaise, which I have read on the interwebs to be a common sentiment. Otherwise, everything was great. So nice, we tried it twice! Next time we're out visiting family, we'll be back, for sure. read more
