Bonus that it is kid friendly! There are high chairs and a changing station in the bathroom. The booth was perfect for putting an infant car seat and I think the patio seating would be great for strollers. French Toast Combo: my mom enjoyed her dish, it came with fluffy powdered French toasts (syrup and butter), 2x bacon, 2x sausage, 2 eggs. Eggs plus 2x Bacon 2x Sausage: my dad enjoyed his dish. He chose hash browns and biscuit as his sides. Eggs Benedict: standard eggs benedict with thin slices of ham. The English muffins were soggy and hollandaise sauce was okay. It came with crispy hash brown and a side of homemade salsa. Coffee: the coffee tasted okay, it was hot but tasted watered down. I appreciate the waitress constantly coming by to pour coffee. Tea: variety of tea bags and hot water. The dining area is pretty spacious and plenty of seatings inside in the main area and in the bar area in the back. There are also outdoor seatings. Earlier this week I wrote a review on a restaurant that I really did not want to write because it was majorly negative. One: I'm more about amplifying the signal of good businesses versus bringing any drama or notoriety to them. Two: I hate that people only become keyboard warriors and writers when they have something bad to say. Thankfully, this place is a gem and has always been. I have been coming to this locations for years and I don't deviate too much from what I usually get but every time I have eaten there, I've thoroughly enjoyed my food and the service. Today, I went and I was indecisive as ever, even from my small variety of choices that I opt to always get. Due to that, they got my order wrong but by that, they gave me one of the million things I thought I wanted and changed my mind on while I was ordering. The staff were super apologetic and kind but it was no big deal because it was from one omelette choice to another. Either way, they still gave me a cinnamon roll on the house, which was beyond appreciated but unnecessary. This place is a vast difference from the other place I reviewed and I think it's because they embrace everyone that comes through their doors and you can feel it. It's also bright and cheery. Everyone here has the best attitude and it's really why I keep coming back. I didn't get them this time, but I do love their Kimchi Fries with a Fried Egg. read more

I ordered a classic blueberry combo set which came with eggs and bacon. The pancakes with light and fluffy and loaded with blueberries. Eggs and bacon were a simple classic. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak which came with eggs and hash browns and biscuits with sausage gravy. The meat with surprisingly tender with a light crisp. Nano on Duarte Rd in Monrovia (There are two Nano Cafes, one's in Sierra Madre, with different owner) is a fixture in this community. The menu is extensive and always difficult to make decisions! They did streamline it during covid but the favorites are all still there. Always came for breakfast but they have a good lunch menu as well. Staff are friendly and helpful, and even enthusiastic, which is nice! Many regular customers come, which is a plus. AVOID AT ALL COST! BEWARE! They don't pick up any phone calls nor do they communicate your orders to you beforehand or after. I have been coming to Nano Cafe since I was in high school and it is so disappointing to see how far they've fallen. I placed an order to go at 10:30am and what was suppose to be a 30 minute wait for my food turned into an hour and a half wait where I finally got my "breakfast" at 12 pm (noon). By the time I got my OVERPRICED ($45 pancake and omelette) food I wasn't even hungry anymore and my food was no longer breakfast but lunch. To the person who screwed up my order and to the host who lied to my face telling me it was going to be ready in 5-10 minutes. I cannot even begin to translate those frustrations to words. A server did approach me to help me understand the situation and I understand that accidents happen. What I am very upset about is how they had lied to me about it being an additional 5-10 minutes when I had given them 40 minutes since my order to come pick up my order. Not only did I stand around waiting another 40 minutes the person who messed up my and 3-4 other people's order didn't want to apologize and instead had someone else apologize for them. I wish they had just been honest from the beginning and told me they lost my order and it will be another 30-40 minutes. If they had told me I would've cancelled my order and went down the street to eat elsewhere and come back another day. HIGHLY MISMANAGED. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE PERSON. I WOULD 1000% STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. While I was standing waiting for my food, I saw the host cross out peoples names without calling them out which led to many frustrated customers who confronted him later on. I took a bite of the prime beef machaca first the meat was really tender with good flavors in beef mix with green peppers and onions combine with the eggs add so much flavor in the machaca. The country potatoes were very good season well and bottom was crunchy that I like and tortillas comes in handle. When I finish with prime beef machaca then the 7 grain pancake they were very good I enjoy it very much. I have a love-hate relationship with Nano Cafe - I love that they serve a decent Corned Beef Hash & Eggs dish but I hate how crowded their small parking lot can get and how pricey some of these dishes are. Came for brunch with friends and I got a corned beef sandwich. I was NOT impressed - my sandwich was super oily. The corned beef was very fatty and salty and the bread they used was buttered heavily before toasting. I got mine served with a side of french fries and it was just a thoroughly heavy/salty/oily meal - definitely too much for breakfast/brunch. Prices for almost everything here are about $16-17. They have a restroom, but the lock was broken while I was there. Service is relatively fast and the waitresses are very friendly and nice. It's a breakfast and lunch cafe that closes at 3pm on most days. They have a large selection of food from American breakfast dishes and some Korean dishes (bulgogi rice and kimchi fried rice).
