The Sinclair a Paloma with a kick. Has pineapple , lime and grapefruit juice with El Silenco Mezcal

This very cute pub and bar is located in Monrovia. If you know Monrovia, you know it's a charming town in the San Gabriel Valley. I went with a friend, and it was pretty packed. We only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The hostess and servers were attentive, friendly, and very welcoming. I really loved the vibe. There's a full bar with high-top tables, regular tables, and booths, plus TVs showing sports games. The Dodgers were playing, so that was definitely a plus. We decided to order appetizers and share a few items. First, we had the K-Town Wings. The Korean sticky wings were absolutely delicious messy in the best way and full of flavor. We also ordered the garlic fries, cooked well done, which made them extra crispy, almost like light potato chips. They were delicious as well. The last dish we shared was the Chicken Pesto Flatbread, which was topped with fresh arugula. I really liked it. It was light and crispy, and the peppery arugula gave it a great texture and fresh flavor. For my cocktail, I had The Sinclair, a fun take on a Paloma made with mezcal, pineapple, lime, and grapefruit juice with an orange twist on top. It was incredibly refreshing and perfectly balanced. Overall, I highly recommend Basin 141 if you're in the Monrovia area. Even if you're not nearby, it's worth the trip you won't regret it!

This is a great place to have dinner...my dinner was out outside on a cool Friday evening...same night as the street market. Very good staff and great service. The menu has a great mix of dishes and variety of excellent appetizers to select from. I had the French Onion soup with braised short rib as my appetizer...sooooo good. This is a must have. For dinner I had the Fish and Chips...a great amount of fries came with the fish. This place is always busy and packed. I'd eat here again. I recommend this place.

This spot has some happy hour deals and had some live sports games playing when I was there, though the food here is alright. -Crisp Pork Belly Taco: Pork belly had okay flavor. -Carnitas Taco: Carnitas meat tasted okay. I wasn't a fan of the tortilla on this or the carnitas taco. I think the street tacos from a local taco truck would probably taste better and be more affordable than these carnitas taco/crisp pork belly tacos from here. -Mini Basin Burger: It's a decent quality burger. Comes with fries. -Onion Rings: Excellent crispiness on the outside.

Chicken tacos, shrimp pasta, grilled cheese and tomato soup, chicken wings, and a pretzel

My cousin and I decided to meet up for dinner here and we happen to know the chef. It was chill on a Tuesday night. We ordered drinks first and then decided on the chicken tacos, shrimp pasta, grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken wings, and pretzel. The chicken wings are lightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with the right amount of heat. The pretzel was super soft and paired well with the cheese dip. The grilled cheese went well dipped in the tomato soup. I actually finished it which I did not think I would. My mom mentioned the tacos were spicy for her because of the salsa. My cousin enjoyed her shrimp pasta and was taking the remainder for he partner. Service was great and they gave us time to look at the menu and even offered suggestions for drinks as well. I have come here plenty of times and have enjoyed the food with family and friends alike.

Basin in Monrovia on Myrtle is such a great spot to relax and enjoy some really tasty bites. The pretzel with cheese and mustard was a standout--warm, soft, and super satisfying. We also tried the guacamole with chips and salsa, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome from the start. Staff checked in at just the right times and kept everything running smoothly, which added a lot to the overall experience. One of the best parts was sitting outside and enjoying the nice breeze. It made the whole experience even better. Perfect place to unwind, snack, and enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area!

We came here for Valentine's Day and overall had a really nice experience. The atmosphere was so cute and cozy, the lights made from mason jars were adorable and something I've never seen before. It definitely gave the place a warm, unique vibe that made the night feel special. My partner ordered the chicken sandwich and I had the fish taco plate. The food was good overall, but I personally didn't love the salsa that came with the chips. It tasted more on the sour side and didn't really have that classic salsa flavor I was expecting. It wasn't bad, just different. The only downside was that it took quite a while for us to get our order taken, which was a little unfortunate. Other than that, we enjoyed our time and the atmosphere really made up for it.

This is our first time at basin 141. We showed up just in time to take advantage of the last hour of happy hour. Everything we ordered was fresh and hot and tasted great. We will definitely be coming back. This is what we ordered: One potato taco One carnitas taco Two orders of the sliders Chicharrones A side salad And garlic parm chicken wings Our server's name was Devin. She had a great personality and she was very accommodating. The gentleman dropping off our food was also great. I wish I would have gotten his name. We sat at one of the high tables close to the entrance, at first I thought it was a little inconvenient because I thought people were going to be bumping into us as they are entering the restaurant . Once seated, That didn't happen at all. We actually were very comfortable. I like the soft lighting inside. They also have a great mix of music playing. I enjoyed everything about this place.

First time patronizing Basin 141. I was joined by 2 friends visiting from out of town who wanted to catch a playoff NBA game. The staff was very accommodating in making sure the action was visible on a couple of their many large TV screens. It was a Monday afternoon so there was lots of open seating. We arrived during Happy Hour and were pleased to find a nice offering of a variety of items on the food menu. Tried all of the taco variations and enjoyed them all. We found the assortment of cocktail options inviting and ordered several rounds of drinks. We were not disappointed by any of the different choices. My only wish being that some of these delicious cocktails could be found on the Happy Hour menu. With any luck they will be the next time I visit, with or without traveling companions.

    Shrimp Pasta Blanco
    Sal C.

My wife ordered the Shrimp Pasta Blanco, and the first thing we noticed was how massive the portion was. They definitely do not skimp on serving sizes. She could not even finish it, and I had to help after already finishing my own meal, which says a lot because I can eat a lot myself lol. The pasta was creamy, flavorful, and loaded with shrimp. For the appetizer, we had the K Town wings. The wings themselves were super crispy on the outside while still tender and juicy inside. The sauces were unique and interesting. A little sweeter than I personally prefer, but the spice balanced it out nicely and kept me going back for more. I ordered the Black Angus Bassin Burger, and that was my favorite part. It came on a soft brioche bun with caramelized onions, arugula, special sauce, and I added bacon. The burger patty itself tasted high quality, juicy, and flavorful. Everything worked together really well. The onion rings were beer battered and seriously delicious. Golden, crunchy, crispy, and packed with flavor. The fries were also fresh and really good.

My daughter ordered the kids meal sliders. Not pictured is the garnishes on the side that they separated.
    Ray Y.

The food was really tasty. We came on a Saturday around lunch time and they had the brunch menu. The perk with a big group is that you see a variety of food. My wife and I decided to share the breakfast burrito and the DayBreak sandwich. Food review in the pics. Just an FYI, of you don't like your food spicy, ask for the sauce on the side. They will be more then willing up accommodate. Our server, Devon(pronounced Devin), was awesome. So helpful in accommodating our various requests from hot water with lemon for my mom to just a plain sliders burger for my daughter with all the garnishes on the side. She also kept my bottomless mimosas coming. Thanks Devon!

It's a nice bar and in a cool area (downtown Monrovia) but food is just okay. I'm sure it's the bar that people like but since I don't drink, it's the food and service I look at. Fries were very average - almost kinda stale. The fish taco was ok. It had the right flavor but it's missing portion size and condiments. Tortilla chips were stale and salsa tasted like it came from a jar. Steak was cooked well and I enjoyed the chimichurri sauce. Only good dish. The service was below average. The server taking the order took our orders one by one but she awkwardly stood at the end of the table where it's hard to hear here from the end. When I had a question about the menu, I didn't want to shout over it over but she just stood there until I motioned her over. And she seemed reluctant to come over.

For starters we ordered the bacon wrapped dates with bleu and mascarpone cheese and tempura green beans. Our entrees for the evening were the poblano burger with side salad and the chicken breast with mushroom risotto and broccolini. There was no room for desert otherwise I would've gone with the bread pudding. This is definitely a must try if in the Monrovia area.

The food is delicious and the prices are appropriate given the portion sizes. Service was prompt and professional. Parking might be a challenge, though there are public lots within a block or two. We went on a Friday night and encountered heavy traffic from the local farmer's market/fair. The best item was the Beef kabob, 5 out of 5 stars. It was perfectly cooked, a very simply salt and pepper seasoning, juicy and simply divine! We got the kids meal, which came with only 4 pieces, and I'd be interested to return for the full adult portion. Also a 5-star experience was the Fried cauliflower appetizer. It had just the right amount of crispiness, without any blackening, and the garlic/parsley/lemon juice combo worked well. The juice was sucked into all the crevices, and overall it was light. I think I could have eaten two portions myself and called it a satisfying meal. I did dip in some tzatziki, which worked great too! Lastly the Chicken shawarma was a 4-star dish. Still delicious and I'd get it again, but it was slightly salty from the marinade and added sauce. I was expecting this to be wrapped up, but it was more an open-face naan with the chicken covering the top. The place wasn't too busy but fairly full, we got a table right away by the manager and sat down, immediately a staff came and provided water and menus. It wasn't dark outside yet and so the restaurant was still bright, but once the sun settled down the restaurant got really dark and neon lights started to hit hard! It was like a night in the streets scene. Very cool but also hard to see food sometimes. We ordered a large boneless chicken (sweet chili and Korean spicy, mild), tteokbokki, bulgolgi and rice, and a side of fries. I would say that mild is really mild, definitely better for me because I cannot stand spicy but my table wanted spicy but I thought I can do mild and yes it was delicious and sweet chili was not spicy at all! Lorena spicy had a kick so I did try it but can't have much. We asked for gloves to help us eat them with our hands! The bulgolgi was the star, I think everyone liked it including my son who ate so much of it! Fries were crispy and soft, I thought they were great. My son didn't eat much of it but it's because he ate a lot of the bulgolgi. Tteokbokki was just as spicy, I had a taste and flavor was good but too spicy for me. Staff came to clean up as we finished eating and checked on us very often. Restrooms are individual and gendered, it does form a line sometimes. Overall, great staff, food, and overall vibe!
