Friendly staff, good food, great music, slow service is what we experienced. Overall 3.5/5 Wife and I came here since it was a new place and wanted a place just to chill and drink. This is a restaurant/bar on the rooftop of the new Hilton hotel in Arcadia. We got a reservation for sunset. Parking lot was big, but full. We parked along the street and entered the Hilton and took the elevator the fourth floor. Once the doors opened, the hostess greeted us and sat us immediately. We took a look at the menu and decided to get a few small dishes and some drinks. I had to get a new silverware since my napkin was stained with I think guac, and my silverware crusty. We ordered: Thai Chili Chicken Wings - This was good, but gets messy since the sauce is caramelized and thick. Make sure you have a lot of napkins. The wings were big and meaty, sauce is sweet and not too tangy. If you like this, and if you like sweet chili sauce, you will definitely like this menu item. I rate it 8/10 since it was good, but nothing popped out. Jalapeno Caesar Salad - This was good! Contrary to the chicken wings, the salad did have a distinguishment of having jalapenos with the Caesar salad. This change adds heat and the jalapeno flavor that I didn't know went well with Caesar dressing. 10/10 Octopus - Grilled Octopus with broccolini and a bell pepper sauce. The octopus was just SLIGHTLY overcooked but the flavor was strong and the rub on the octopus had a kick to it. The broccolini seemed like it was just steamed. The bell pepper sauce was just that. 8/10. I like the octopus, but it was accompanied by plain sides. As for drinks, we ordered: Storm Chaser - This was okay. I thought it was going to be more like a mule type of drink and maybe it was, but I just wasn't feeling it 6/10 Seasonal Espresso Martini - Espresso was a bit light. A bit too sweet for my taste, and the foam on the martini wasn't thick. Better than the Storm Chaser though, imo. 7/10 When we finished our first rounds above, our waiter never came to check up on us. I am guessing 30 minutes to chill, eat all of round 1 dishes and all our drinks along with the water. Our waiter never came. I actually thought they changed shifts, so I actually flagged down another waitress who waited on an adjacent table and she took our round 2 orders. She did tell us she was going to let our waiter know our order, but she took it down anyway. Only when she took the order did our waiter came to us. By that time, we've already been taken care of. Our round two order was: Shrimp Ceviche - This had like 7 shrimps that were halved with the ceviche ingredients spinkled over each one. The lime juice was now a dip and had extra stuff in it so the ceviche dipping sauce was green in color. This was plated with a side of tortilla chips. I was honestly expecting just a ceviche bowl with shrimp in lime juice. A bit fancy, but it was good. Due to the dipping, the lime flavor was light vs if the shrimp was marinating in the lime juice if it was in a traditional glass. 7/10 Purple Haze: My wife got this since it was a pretty drink, it being purple. We opted out of dessert. When we were done with round two, we just relaxed and enjoyed the music the DJ was playing and after a bit more time, our waiter, again, didn't come, so after 15 minutes of waiting, we flagged a guys who happened to be the F&B Supervisor. I asked for the check and paid. Staff was super friendly. We were greeted warmly, and it was a busy night for them. The fact that our waiter didn't even come check in on us was the only negative during our experience. DJ was good, it was loud, but not too loud. You'll have to raise your voice to converse with your party. Food was good/great. Food items did have a kick to them, which I am a fan of. We'll definitely be coming back here to relax. Checked out Hipico Rooftop bar on a Saturday night for the first time since the Hilton opened here, mostly to support a friend who was DJing, and we were super impressed! The sunset views from the rooftop are incredible, and the combination of great music and ambient lighting makes the overall vibe top-notch. It's definitely a welcome addition to the Arcadia area, right next to the Santa Anita mall. Food & Drinks: The food was actually pretty good! We ordered the Thai chili chicken wings, and they were fantastic--crispy with a rich, flavorful, and deliciously sticky Thai chili sauce that had just the right bite. Service & Vibe: Everyone around us was super friendly, and the crowd was great. The only real downside was the service, our waiter was extremely slow in bringing out our order and getting us what we needed throughout the night. Parking & Logistics: Super convenient location with the Hilton having its own dedicated parking structure, so you don't have to stress about finding a spot. Despite the sluggish service, it's a gorgeous spot to hang out, grab a drink, and catch the sunset. Will definitely be back! read more

The potato ones were especially boring. View- you don't get a view of the mountains which is disappointing. You get a view of the race track and Arcadia. Again, kinda underwhelming. This is in the newly built hotel and we had to checkout the rooftop bar. It was about 4 floors up so high enough to enjoy a sunset. The space was lively with music, lights, and comfortable seating. It was dark when we arrived and we sat at a booth next to a warmer lamp which was much needed because it got quite cold. We ordered: Shrimp Ceviche - 8/10 fresh shrimp but wish it had more lemon/lime flavor. Some spice would have helped too Queso Fundido Flatbread - 8/10 not bad but not amazing Thai chicken wings - 10/10 probably the best thing we had that night. The chicken wings were meaty and juicy, and it was very savory Fries - 10/10 love the crisp and each fry was well flavored Cocktails: Storm chaser - loved this drink. I don't typically drink rum either but the Kraken dark rum was so good. It has a deep flavor, a little smokey, not sweet, and very smooth. Overall night place to be outdoors and enjoy some drinks. We were here on a Friday night and unfortunately didn't get the DJ experience so may try again next time. There is also a structure for parking nearby. read more

I want to say that I've been here solo at least two nights and still recommend highly. Friday night, I came around 8 PM and had attentive servers. I was able to enjoy a drink and I was able to sit down and enjoy a book in the meantime. It was nice to see a rooftop bar not in DTLA closer to me. It was pretty hip, and would definitely invite friends for a nice cocktail. They have a decent drink menu and food menu and I was able to try a few different things. They also have heaters and lights for the evening time. Parking is limited if you're not at the hotel, but there is neighborhood parking which isn't too far. Unfortunately, I am removing one star for my Saturday evening. I went on Saturday night for a sunset and dj session since I enjoyed the Friday evening. However, Saturday night, I unfortunately didn't get the same service. I waited about 30 minutes for a server and had to flag down multiple times to get a drink and my water. I never got my servers name and I was going to order another drink, but it took about another 20 mins to flag down a server. The food and drink were still great, but it was disappointing since the servers were busy and rarely checked on me. I still will return, however, larger groups closer to the bar will likely receive better service. read more

Came here with my besties for a quiet evening chat and catch-up, and it was the perfect spot. Hipico is located on the rooftop of the new Hilton in Arcadia, overlooking the Santa Anita racetrack with the San Gabriel Mountains in the background. Golden hour here is beautiful -- the sunset alone is worth coming for. Everything was very pleasant, but the highlight was definitely the service. Our waitress was so welcoming and had the warmest smile, which made the whole evening feel even better. For a rooftop bar, the food was surprisingly delicious. We ordered a lot: Caesar salad, grilled octopus, flatbread, chicken wings, tortilla chips, and cocktails. The Caesar salad was so good, the octopus was beautifully plated and tender, the flatbread was crispy, the wings were crispy and tangy, and even the tortilla chips were great. The cocktails were also very tasty, especially their espresso martini drink. Arcadia and the San Gabriel Valley really needed a modern, trendy rooftop spot like this. It gives a little West Hollywood energy, but with SGV warmth and humble, friendly service. I'll definitely be coming back more often. read more

The best thing about this place is that I don't have to drive all the way into downtown to finally get a lovely rooftop bar experience. Normally, I would not have been keen about the pricing of the menu, but we were at the 626 Night Market and had already dropped 13 bucks a pop to get in, so I was not thrilled about having to drop another 20 to 30 for food that I was not sure was going to be good. So we hopped on Yelp and left the market to hang out at this swanky joint. I had the potato tacos, which were small, but tasty. I was disappointed at how many dishes were spicy; it would have been nice to have a little bit more variety given that I have a sensitive stomach. We also had the chocolate cake, which was very good, but my husband commented that it basically seemed like the excellent triple layer chocolate cake from Costco and I can't deny that there were some striking similarities. There was a DJ (that wasn't playing too loud, thankfully, just right for the space) and fire pits and pyramid heaters, tables and couches and an overall general chill and hip vibe. It was a beautiful night and a much more relaxing ambience than the market, so I don't have any regrets! read more

I was intrigued to try a rooftop bar in Arcadia so we came on a Thursday night since they have velvet hour from 8-10pm M-TH. This is a great idea for discounted drinks and bites so we ordered a wheat beer and the churro creme brulee. They were priced nicely and delicious. The bar is on the 4th floor, so just keep in mind it's not high up. The scenery is overlooking the race track so not many lights from my view anyway. I found this place by accident while attending a card show at the hotel. I stopped by the lobby bar for a drink and noticed there was mention of another bar, so I asked the bartender about it. He told me there was a rooftop bar upstairs and suggested I check it out. While heading up, I also noticed someone setting up for live music in the lobby bar, which already gave the hotel a really fun atmosphere. The rooftop itself was beautiful, with amazing views overlooking the Santa Anita Racetrack. It was right around sunset, and the scenery was starting to turn gorgeous. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long enough to fully enjoy the sunset because we had to leave, but even the short time I spent there was worth it. What really stood out to me was the service. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and attentive. I was there by myself, and the staff kept checking in to make sure I was having a good time, which made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. The Dodger game was playing on the TVs at the bar too, which made the vibe even better. I definitely recommend checking this place out. It still feels like a hidden gem, but I have a feeling people are starting to discover it and it's only a matter of time before this place is packed. read more

It's great to see more rooftop bars popping up in the SGV since there are so few around. This is a really nice spot to catch up with people over drinks. The cocktails and the space itself are visually stunning, and they have plenty of outdoor heaters if it gets cold, which is a big plus. I also like that it's located at a Hilton, so parking in the structure is easy and stress-free. The cocktails are a bit on the pricier side, but they make their own infused liqueurs, which makes it feel worth it. I could definitely see this becoming a go-to hangout spot for locals. Finally a rooftop bar in Arcadia! Hipico is stunning. It's modern and well kept. We got the corn ribs (delicious) and Asian style fries (not on the menu, but the star of the night). The Purple Haze was great. The downside: We made reservations through open table and were told it was fully sold out for the night. The host was great and figured out how to get us a seat since we had reservations confirmed anyways. Make sure you call instead of booking online! It was a busy night and our drinks arrived when we were about 70% done with our food. I was about to cancel our drink orders when our wonderful server came along with the drinks. WOW!!! It's about time we got a place like this in the SGV--Arcadia to be exact. We've visited Hipico Rooftop several times now and have never been disappointed. They've added a DJ who's phenomenal and really elevates the ambiance. The service is impeccable, and as a bonus, we met Chef Denise last night--the menu absolutely knocks it out of the park! If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by--and staying. The views of the Santa Anita Racetrack, especially at sunset, is beautiful. My daughter's friend had her 15th birthday dinner party here. It is fairly new but a beautiful location. Perfect for warm summer nights and even crisp spring nights. They had all the outdoor heaters on and the fire pits. The girls had a fabulous time enjoying delicious food and watching the sunset over the racetrack. I made reservations for a Sunday at 12:30 PM. We got an excellent spot that was in the shade. I'm so glad we did because it was very hot and nobody wanted to sit out in the sun as their umbrellas were not creating the shade since the sun was shifting. I ordered an initial drink, but when the drink came out, it was literally half full. I asked the waiter what happened and I showed him what the difference looks like and he said this is just how the drink comes out. Mind you it also had a bunch of ice in it so I couldn't even tell you how minimal that drink was. It looked like it was a shot of something with a bunch of ice. My friend got the Crimson blush and that was filled to the rim, but for some reason, my drink looked like it was half drinking already when they brought it out. I told them please take it back and give me a cRimson blush. That drink came out to the rim and that I enjoyed. We both ordered the burger with fries. Their server told us that they only make it medium or medium well and we will get one or the other. I thought that was interesting when I specifically ordered medium well, but I had already sent a drink back so I wasn't going to say anything about it. There were a couple of functions going on and it just seemed like the weight staff was overwhelmed. Our service was just OK, but it was way too loud and there were way too many screaming kids that were running around. I felt like this has the potential to be something great but with so many kids screaming and running around unsupervised, it was pretty annoying. When I tell you, I had to raise my voice to even speak to my friend that I was with that was sitting right next to me, that shows you how loud it was. The table next to us sat down and was there for about 10 minutes and they ended up leaving and we asked why and they said because it was really loud and chaotic. We felt the exact same way as well. This place is probably nicer in the evening as long as there's not a bunch of screaming kids. I feel like this is a nice area for like people to come and try to relax, but that is not what we got when we were here. The food was actually pretty decent. I enjoyed my burger and fries. Zero complaints about that. The atmosphere is just not what I had in mind. read more

Amazing vibe, great food, drinks are ok but left a bit to be desired. But hey, in Arcadia, this place is top notch. Even has a DJ playing music on a Saturday night. Parking situation is a bit of a problem, to my surprise. There is a row of handicap parking but on Saturday evening, they are all occupied by 6pm. It doesn't seem like between the hotel guests and restaurant guests, there are enough parking spots and no real street parking options nearby too. There is a parking structure but we didn't venture in there and not sure if there is a charge for it. It is quite far from the hotel for handicapped access. read more
