This is in the newly built hotel and we had to checkout the rooftop bar. It was about 4 floors up so high enough to enjoy a sunset. The space was lively with music, lights, and comfortable seating. It was dark when we arrived and we sat at a booth next to a warmer lamp which was much needed because it got quite cold. We ordered: Shrimp Ceviche - 8/10 fresh shrimp but wish it had more lemon/lime flavor. Some spice would have helped too Queso Fundido Flatbread - 8/10 not bad but not amazing Thai chicken wings - 10/10 probably the best thing we had that night. The chicken wings were meaty and juicy, and it was very savory Fries - 10/10 love the crisp and each fry was well flavored Cocktails: Storm chaser - loved this drink. I don't typically drink rum either but the Kraken dark rum was so good. It has a deep flavor, a little smokey, not sweet, and very smooth. Overall night place to be outdoors and enjoy some drinks. We were here on a Friday night and unfortunately didn't get the DJ experience so may try again next time. There is also a structure for parking nearby. read more

I was intrigued to try a rooftop bar in Arcadia so we came on a Thursday night since they have velvet hour from 8-10pm M-TH. This is a great idea for discounted drinks and bites so we ordered a wheat beer and the churro creme brulee. They were priced nicely and delicious. The bar is on the 4th floor, so just keep in mind it's not high up. The scenery is overlooking the race track so not many lights from my view anyway. The space is big, comfortable with heat lamps and friendly service. We did not make a reservation but it was fine at that time. We parked at the nearby park and walked over. read more

I want to say that I've been here solo at least two nights and still recommend highly. Friday night, I came around 8 PM and had attentive servers. I was able to enjoy a drink and I was able to sit down and enjoy a book in the meantime. It was nice to see a rooftop bar not in DTLA closer to me. It was pretty hip, and would definitely invite friends for a nice cocktail. They have a decent drink menu and food menu and I was able to try a few different things. They also have heaters and lights for the evening time. Parking is limited if you're not at the hotel, but there is neighborhood parking which isn't too far. Unfortunately, I am removing one star for my Saturday evening. I went on Saturday night for a sunset and dj session since I enjoyed the Friday evening. However, Saturday night, I unfortunately didn't get the same service. I waited about 30 minutes for a server and had to flag down multiple times to get a drink and my water. I never got my servers name and I was going to order another drink, but it took about another 20 mins to flag down a server. The food and drink were still great, but it was disappointing since the servers were busy and rarely checked on me. I still will return, however, larger groups closer to the bar will likely receive better service. read more

Came here with my besties for a quiet evening chat and catch-up, and it was the perfect spot. Hipico is located on the rooftop of the new Hilton in Arcadia, overlooking the Santa Anita racetrack with the San Gabriel Mountains in the background. Golden hour here is beautiful -- the sunset alone is worth coming for. Everything was very pleasant, but the highlight was definitely the service. Our waitress was so welcoming and had the warmest smile, which made the whole evening feel even better. For a rooftop bar, the food was surprisingly delicious. We ordered a lot: Caesar salad, grilled octopus, flatbread, chicken wings, tortilla chips, and cocktails. The Caesar salad was so good, the octopus was beautifully plated and tender, the flatbread was crispy, the wings were crispy and tangy, and even the tortilla chips were great. The cocktails were also very tasty, especially their espresso martini drink. Arcadia and the San Gabriel Valley really needed a modern, trendy rooftop spot like this. It gives a little West Hollywood energy, but with SGV warmth and humble, friendly service. I'll definitely be coming back more often. read more

I found this place by accident while attending a card show at the hotel. I stopped by the lobby bar for a drink and noticed there was mention of another bar, so I asked the bartender about it. He told me there was a rooftop bar upstairs and suggested I check it out. While heading up, I also noticed someone setting up for live music in the lobby bar, which already gave the hotel a really fun atmosphere. The rooftop itself was beautiful, with amazing views overlooking the Santa Anita Racetrack. It was right around sunset, and the scenery was starting to turn gorgeous. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long enough to fully enjoy the sunset because we had to leave, but even the short time I spent there was worth it. What really stood out to me was the service. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and attentive. I was there by myself, and the staff kept checking in to make sure I was having a good time, which made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. The Dodger game was playing on the TVs at the bar too, which made the vibe even better. I definitely recommend checking this place out. It still feels like a hidden gem, but I have a feeling people are starting to discover it and it's only a matter of time before this place is packed. read more

It's great to see more rooftop bars popping up in the SGV since there are so few around. This is a really nice spot to catch up with people over drinks. The cocktails and the space itself are visually stunning, and they have plenty of outdoor heaters if it gets cold, which is a big plus. I also like that it's located at a Hilton, so parking in the structure is easy and stress-free. The cocktails are a bit on the pricier side, but they make their own infused liqueurs, which makes it feel worth it. I could definitely see this becoming a go-to hangout spot for locals. My daughter's friend had her 15th birthday dinner party here. It is fairly new but a beautiful location. Perfect for warm summer nights and even crisp spring nights. They had all the outdoor heaters on and the fire pits. The girls had a fabulous time enjoying delicious food and watching the sunset over the racetrack. This place has nice chill vibes and reminded me of a nice beachside eclectic upscale lounge in Ibiza or Barcelona. Def a great place to hang with girl friends or a nice date spot. read more

Finally a rooftop bar in Arcadia! Hipico is stunning. It's modern and well kept. We got the corn ribs (delicious) and Asian style fries (not on the menu, but the star of the night). The Purple Haze was great. The downside: We made reservations through open table and were told it was fully sold out for the night. The host was great and figured out how to get us a seat since we had reservations confirmed anyways. Make sure you call instead of booking online! It was a busy night and our drinks arrived when we were about 70% done with our food. I was about to cancel our drink orders when our wonderful server came along with the drinks. WOW!!! It's about time we got a place like this in the SGV--Arcadia to be exact. We've visited Hipico Rooftop several times now and have never been disappointed. They've added a DJ who's phenomenal and really elevates the ambiance. The service is impeccable, and as a bonus, we met Chef Denise last night--the menu absolutely knocks it out of the park! I was recently here for a yelp elite social event and it was absolutely spectacular!. I was blown away on how elegant the hotel was. I will mostly definitely be coming back to stay in one of their lovely rooms. The staff was very friendly on accommodations like making sure everyone got to try all the drinks and appetizers. I was very surprised that the rooftop bar was popping! Considering they just opened up in December. It is definitely a great vibe to destress. And if you like a more quiet atmosphere they have a full bar right when you enter the hotel along with a beautiful restaurant. Parking situation is a bit of a problem, to my surprise. There is a row of handicap parking but on Saturday evening, they are all occupied by 6pm. It doesn't seem like between the hotel guests and restaurant guests, there are enough parking spots and no real street parking options nearby too. There is a parking structure but we didn't venture in there and not sure if there is a charge for it. It is quite far from the hotel for handicapped access. read more

I made reservations for a Sunday at 12:30 PM. We got an excellent spot that was in the shade. I'm so glad we did because it was very hot and nobody wanted to sit out in the sun as their umbrellas were not creating the shade since the sun was shifting. I ordered an initial drink, but when the drink came out, it was literally half full. I asked the waiter what happened and I showed him what the difference looks like and he said this is just how the drink comes out. Mind you it also had a bunch of ice in it so I couldn't even tell you how minimal that drink was. It looked like it was a shot of something with a bunch of ice. My friend got the Crimson blush and that was filled to the rim, but for some reason, my drink looked like it was half drinking already when they brought it out. I told them please take it back and give me a cRimson blush. That drink came out to the rim and that I enjoyed. We both ordered the burger with fries. Their server told us that they only make it medium or medium well and we will get one or the other. I thought that was interesting when I specifically ordered medium well, but I had already sent a drink back so I wasn't going to say anything about it. There were a couple of functions going on and it just seemed like the weight staff was overwhelmed. Our service was just OK, but it was way too loud and there were way too many screaming kids that were running around. I felt like this has the potential to be something great but with so many kids screaming and running around unsupervised, it was pretty annoying. When I tell you, I had to raise my voice to even speak to my friend that I was with that was sitting right next to me, that shows you how loud it was. The table next to us sat down and was there for about 10 minutes and they ended up leaving and we asked why and they said because it was really loud and chaotic. We felt the exact same way as well. This place is probably nicer in the evening as long as there's not a bunch of screaming kids. I feel like this is a nice area for like people to come and try to relax, but that is not what we got when we were here. The food was actually pretty decent. I enjoyed my burger and fries. Zero complaints about that. The atmosphere is just not what I had in mind. read more

I visited this place two weeks ago with a group from work. It's a cute spot on top of the Hilton, across from the racetracks. It has ample and comfy seating and cut decor. Since I was last to arrive we did have to ask for additional cutlery and extra plate, other guests in my party also needed items. There was a little wait for these things but in the end it all got resolved. I sampled the flatbread with pork and kimchi. It was pretty tasty. I also enjoy the Clarified del Sol. That was refreshing and had the right amount of everything. Our server was friendly and helpful, and the manager visited th tables to inquire about service needs. Parking was full so be on the lookout for that. I'd visit again to sample other food offerings. read more

Been to Hipico a few times and every time it's been absolutely amazing. First off, exiting the elevator I was greeted by the hostess. Her name is Judy. Extremely welcoming and full of energy. She gave me the option of bar seating or a table. I chose the bar because it was busy the times I was there. She did check to make sure I was ok, and if a table opens she would make sure I was seated. I like that sort of attention. At the bar the two bartenders Justin and Jose were also amazing. Delicious drinks, fast service and great conversation. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon. Stayed a couple hours and everything was perfect Definitely recommend. read more

Highly recommend. This is a rare rooftop gem in Arcadia. I hosted a singles event here and the space was perfect. It's spacious, well laid out, and works really well for events. The atmosphere is great, the service is professional, and the food is genuinely good. Even though it's a newer venue, everything was run very smoothly. This is a beautiful new rooftop bar at the new Hilton hotel here. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot and it's relatively close to the Arcadia mall if you ever go to hang out with friends I need a spot for a happy hour afterwards. We were lucky to arrive on one of the opening days, so it was easy to get a reservation and it was a perfect spot for the sunset the food was great and I would describe as upscale, and the service was also a wonderful Hoping for their success, can't wait for my next visit! read more

Visited this rooftop lounge after opening day at Santa Anita and we got there right before sunset. They provide blankets if you get cold which was a nice touch. We ordered the seasonal espresso martinis and they were so good. Staff and management were very nice and helpful. It got pretty busy but our server Ariana was great. I like the fact that management was very hands on helping, because of the busy crowd. The food was all great, we tried the tacos governador, the burger and the flat bread. Everything was tasty. The only thing I wished for was a different salad option, like a simple wedge salad would be great as another option to the asian salad. The heat lamps were great as it does get cold up there. Beautiful view of Santa Anita Park and Huntington Drive. The food was delicious with WOW presentation. We started with grilled octopus and that became our favorite for the visit. The charred brocolini was very flavorful; the chef spelled out the chewy part and that was not often seen in the restaurants. The octopus was grilled to perfection and tasted great with the sauce or without. Also tried the tacos and staff recommended shrimp ceviche. The tacos hit the spot on a chili day, the meat was juicy and tender. The shrimp ceviche was very refreshing and I loved the house made chips. For drinks, we had their winter espresso martini and Horse Play; which was a bit on the sour side. Then we ordered the old fashioned and a lemon drop as it gets colder after sunset. The rooftop bar has a few sections that is designed for all size of parties. There are two tops along the we glass windows, larger parties tables with fire pit and regular tables under the roof.
