I found this spot when looking for breweries in the area. This spot looks like it's by the metro station. Theres ample parking in the back entrance. Which was the confusing part since there's another entrance. The gps sent me to the back of the brewery lol. Once we entered we realized that lol. The spot is decorated with lots of videogame merch which was aesthetic. The menu includes seltzers, lagers, & ipa. We tried the lager & seltzer which were both 10/10. There's also snacks such as chips/popcorn. What's pretty fun are the TV's mounted at tables where you can play some of the games. Smash bros to Mario cart. They also have sega games which was pretty cool to see. The staff was friendly and open to questions. The day we went was pretty quiet, I'm hoping to visit with a bigger group so we can play some of their game selection. read more

Hop Secret is a brewery in Monrovia, near the metro station. It's in a lowkey area, but is very obvious with signage once you're in front of the brewery. There's plenty of parking spaces in the lot. They have a nice selection of beers. I tried the IPA's and it's standard. The smoothie sour has hints of fruitiness, but isn't my preferred beer type - regardless, I love the innovation and uniqueness. This is a great place to catch a sports game and to play old school arcade games for free with friends or family. I also appreciate the free popcorn. There was one person running the place when I was there. She was quick and friendly, and did her job well. After a nice dinner my friends and I wanted a place to keep hanging out, so we stopped by Hop Secret Brewing Company. This place in an industrial warehouse area, the secret-spot vibe and plenty of parking out front were the main reasons people come here. They have good beer selection, and we tried a few fruity, sweet brews that were tasty. This place is packed with video games, from old school consoles to full size arcade machines, which is the coolest attraction making people keep coming back. No fancy food here, but complimentary popcorn is a welcome bonus. We had a great time and will definitely return next time we are in the area looking for fun and good beer. read more

Came back here after a few years. Still a great little spot. Every table has a Nintendo or Sega so there's plenty to do. I do appreciate that you don't have to pay to play the games. It makes the place that much friendlier to be at. Jackie was especially nice. I like that they do the "buy your buddy a beer" and we cashed in on the veterans one. I had such a fun time here!! This is a great for a small to medium group of friends. In the back area, they have a plethora of games available. You can play Smash Bros with retro controllers, board games, and the best part - there are 2 arcade game machines which holds a huge variety of vintage arcade games. There's a good amount of seating, and the space is cute and clean. Bathrooms were pretty clean too. Staff was very nice. I enjoyed the selection of beers. Very attentive and present for the patrons. Had no idea of what to expect when my people's suggested the joint. Rolling up on the place felt like I was going into some desolate parking lot for a shady exchange but maybe that's the set up to get your mind blown when you actually enter the brewery? The artwork is stellar! If you dig mash ups of anime, fantasy, starwars this place is for you. If you dig 16 bit video games this place is for you. If you dig a solid spread of craft beer that's not overwhelming in any one direction this place is for you. My only two points of contention with the spot is they have that pink liquid soap in the bathroom that completely decimates my hands & they're low on merch! Those T-Shirts are fuego . Please restock ASAP! Besides that I can't stop singing Hop Secrets praises! Family friendly, dog friendly and you can bring your own food! Stumbled upon this little gem last night. Small brewery in a warehouse set up located in Monrovia. Each table has old school Nintendo games from sonic, smash bros, mario kart, street fighter, and more. What a great concept! We enjoyed throwing back a few cold ones while recreating some childhood nostalgia. The setup was really cozy and we all had a great time. The beers were solid and well priced. Found this gem at the Monrovia night market on Friday, which was awesome because we were going to a "don't tell" comedy show! We were able to grab a few to go! After the comedy show came to check out the brewery and I was not disappointed! The vibe is very chill, their pints are cheap and they have video games, ( They have sega genesis and Super Nintendo!) which was very fun and complementary popcorn too! This is truly a neighborhood craft beer gem that I hope more people discover from different parts of LA. We had a really nice time here! The woman at the bar was very friendly and informative. The ambiance is cool- there are old school video games you can play! I like that this place is like a little secret lol you have the find the little entrance in like a warehouse building. It was also dark lol when I went, maybe added to my confusion. This place was such a great find! My wife and I had so much fun. She had a flight and really liked the selection of beers. I had a non alcoholic beer which is hard to find in breweries so I was very happy. We played games and enjoyed some video games too. We had good delivered as they do not serve food but have a nice selection of chips and popcorn. The bartender was so friendly! Absolutely fantastic spot. I'm lucky to have it walking distance from my home. It's a small place with good people running it. I've never had a bad experience here. As for the beer I think it's the best in Los Angeles. I hadn't been in a while and stopped by the other day to get a mixed 4 pack and tried some tasters. Each of the beers I tried could have been a big brewery's signature beer. In my opinion it's simply better beer than bigger places have put together, Golden Road, Angel City (RIP) etc. I could go on but I don't want to put any other places down. I must say that we were blessed to find this hidden gem. The beertenders are always nice and let you sample their menu so you can pick what beer is right for you and let me just say that their beer selection is on point. It is family friendly so we've came a couple times with smaller children and it's a blessing that we get to have fun while they do as well. It helps that they have a big arcade selection and even a Nintendo Wii on site! I was also very pleased with the popcorn machine that makes fresh popcorn and also with all the flavor powders you can season them with; also free! Really great find. Truly a secret and hidden amongst industrial buildings. Inside is a nice space. You can bring your own food or order food from a pizza spot with free delivery. The reviews looked really good so I decided to come check it out on a Friday night to watch the dodger game. It's located in a business park (like most breweries) but maps directs you to the BACK entrance so we had to get into our car to drive around to the front. Upon exiting the car, we were greeted with a VERY unpleasant smell. The entrance to the brewery was kinda sticky and the smell got worse upon entering the place. It just didn't sit well with me and I felt uncomfortable. I was looking forward to trying the peach hef since I love peach and light beer but I did not taste any peach at all. I was quite disappointed. Staff was very friendly and they have a bunch of games to keep everyone entertained. I liked that you're able to bring your own food into this place and that it's dog friendly! Unfortunately the game was only broadcasted through Apple TV that night so no dodger game for us. It seemed like they had a good crowd coming in which is great for the business. However, this place just wasn't for me and my personal taste. There aren't many breweries left in Monrovia so I do hope this business does well. read more

We came in and sat at the bar, bartender approached us, gave a sample and was sold on the El Cachorro, a crispy light lager with a mild hint of citrus and no bitterness, an all day beer. My guy ordered a "Hefty Peaches," which is a hef but more of a wheat beer with a good taste of peach flavor with no bitterness. Ambiance simple, micro brewery that you can sit and relax with a good beers. Service was good, the gal bartender was friendly and she made fresh popcorn. Has been one of my favorite local spots since 2018 and til this day it never ceases to amaze. The Butter Tongue Stout. Absolute perfection. A great dessert beer as well as their most recent sour . (The sour is a beautiful berry sour with a violet finish) The hazy is robust and full of flavor but always surprises me with something new. Beertenders are always friendly and have complete knowledge of all of their beers on tap. Pet friendly and a bunch of games for people to have fun. Recently tried this brewery and it's a hidden gem! Tucked like a true secret in an out of way warehouse-type business park, this small but might brewery had some really good beer. And their food vendor slinging birria, chicken thighs, and quesadillas did not disappoint - and only charges $5 per plate ?! Service was amazing. Gidget helped me sample and streamline my choices and was quick with knowledge. Clearly an experienced brewer. The place is small but really has a great vibe. I like beer. I like supporting small local businesses. Also, I like beer. So imagine my eager mirth to visit this spot with a buddy. Nothing quite like those small microbreweries, hidden away in modified storage facilities and office parks. This one is in the shadow of a Gold Line station, tucked away and hidden in plain sight next to a T-shirt place I've visited a dozen times for different teams and clubs with which I've been associated. During closures, they did a storefront pick up, highlighting their "Pandemic Pale" Ale and a few other solid brews. In simpler times, they have a tasting area inside that's worth the trouble of finding. Here's to hoping the "Secret" gets out in a big way for these guys. There are plenty of other varieties I'm looking forward to sampling when I can belly up and stay a while. In the meantime, I'll be back to get my to-go order and enjoy their wares to slake my thirst in the comfort of my own home or back yard, right next to the BBQ. read more

I love their beer. "The Close Talker," is my fave. It's smooth and light. I'm not really a dark or IPA type of person. So that one is perfect. I found this place right after covid restrictions were lifted. They had a place in Old Town Monrovia. Their wings were amazing! My cousin and I started going every Friday. Even my friend from LA would drive out here to this brewery. Unfortunately, I think they closed down that location & now they're only at this warehouse looking one. I've been to this original location once. The beer is still good. But I don't think they have food anymore. I did get a 6 pack to go, but maybe it's time to go back for more. read more

Such a great hidden gem in the city of Monrovia! This specific brewery is located next to the newly built Moda apartments (by the Gold Line station). It would be easy to miss if you don't look close enough. I myself am a very light colored beer drinker. I always fear the taste of hoppy beers such as IPAs. To my surprise, I really really enjoyed the taste of their beers here, even the IPAs! They're not overly hoppy, and do not leave a taste on your tongue like other IPAs do. Rather, it's a delicious and very enjoyable sip! The price points are similar to all the other breweries in the area (about $7/pint), but definitely worth it in my opinion! Be sure to chat it up with the owner, as he has a lot of knowledge about the beers (he's also the one that brews them all up), and can help guide you into the right type of beer for your palette! read more
