It seems more geared toward bigger groups and parents who want to relax with a beer while their kids run around. They have a massive outdoor area and a food truck outside, which makes grabbing food really easy. Inside, there's plenty of seating and the pricing is reasonable for the area. There are quite a few kids around, so it really just depends on what kind of atmosphere you're looking for. My favorite local brewery! First introduced here by my bf, who wanted to share his love for trivia Wednesdays. Have since stayed for weekly trivia, as well as their bingo Sundays, specially themed trivia Fridays, Super Bowl watch parties (really any football, baseball and basketball games), holiday and birthday gatherings, up close magic shows, to name a few of all their happenings! Moreover, it's not easy for me to make new friends, but it is here! The people working here and the people drinking here are so friendly and inviting! We've been having such a blast getting to know everyone here! Additionally, thanks to Mt Lowe's collabs, my belly has met some of the most incredible food trucks/vendors who frequent here. which pairs so, so well with their beer selection! And they're all so friendly too! My favorites include Thai Pasta Lab (their pad kra pow is insane!), Spicy Cuban Cuisine (with the best potato balls!), Something Good (love their tots and wings!), to name a few. I've also had some of the most flavorful fusion BBQ from Brody's and Shourai's, and the taco lady there on Tuesdays serves one incredible (and huge) carnitas quesadilla. Parents of these kids check out as soon as they walk in the door with no concern for others trying to enjoy themselves. We attended the 9th anniversary party at Mt. Lowes. Friendly staff, lots of vendors outside and very family friendly with lots of activities inside and out. I ordered a newer beer, "Yuzuel," a Japanese lager with yuzu fruit. It was a light, crispy with a nice flavorful taste. My guy ordered the "Octoberfest marzen," dark robust lager, it was a good Octoberfest beer he said. The place was packed, inside and out. We tried to go out to watch the fight, but after a few, I couldn't do the cold anymore. They tried to light the heaters, but were out of propane. So I was out too. Until next time.. read more

Mt. Lowe is an amazing community brewery in Arcadia. Super hospitable staff, feels like I'm in DTLA with all the advantages of being in a suburb (i.e. quiet, plenty of free street parking). It has a spacious interior and spacious patio with benches and lawn chairs where you can catch the latest sports game. Also there is fun pub trivia on Wednesdays. My sister won last year and they were able to create their own beer which was then sold (and ended up selling out!) Beer selection is pretty good and they also have non-alcoholic options like sparkling lemonade. They also have rum barrel aged seltzers and wine. They also have rotating food vendors in the patio, like burritos, pizza, and burgers. Great place to chill and hangout with a group after work. They are unfortunately running into the same problem a lot of small businesses are during these times so definitely think of Mt. Lowe as a destination to visit the next time you have a chance. read more

Our first time here, we had gone here for Steady Garage's Friday Kik Bak Bike Show. I was fortunate enough to be selected to have my bike on display. This place has a very welcoming and chill vibe. The people who worked here were super nice. I'm not much of a beer fan, but I wanted to support and see what they had to offer. They have a huge selection of beer to choose from. I was surprised they had an offering of items like sparkling raspberry lemonade, a berry awesome series, and wine. They had something for everyone. I decided to go with a jolly rancher apple that they had. It was light and not too sweet. I was debating on trying the berry one but decided to stick with this for the whole night. I loved that they had cookies made by Sour*doe*sisters. I saw a flyer outside their window and was interested in pre ordering a sourdough loaf. You definitely must try them. 1. Pumpkin chocolate - light and pumpkiny - it tasted like a muffin top 2. Chocolate Chip - I can't go wrong with a classic. 3. Red velvet - I'm not a fan of red velvet, but I had to try, and it was light and tasty. 4. Strawberry cookies made with real strawberries - This was my favorite it was so different. I never had a strawberry cookie made with real strawberries before. It was moist and not too sweet. The layout of this place was pretty cool and spacious. They had a private event going on when we were there as well. The taco vendor they had there was a hit. I definitely see us coming back here soon, even if it's not for a bike event. Came here to try a new brewery but was sort of disappointed with the ambiance and beer selection. The crowd seemed quiet and like not much was going on. The servers we also busy doing something so not very social. There were no signs that their patio area was having a private event and we walked back there and were told that we could not use it. That was a bummer because it was a nice afternoon/evening. Most of the beers had some level of coffee so that was not good. What happened to regular craft beers that are unique to most or all breweries. I can see maybe one or two beers having coffee or similar ingredients but not all or most. It's always a good time at Mount Lowe. From trivia nights to bingo to karaoke. This place is a brewery for the people. All the staff members are super friendly and the manager is really cool. They will definitely hook you up. What's the syrup splash on whatever beer you want if you want a bit more flavor for those that are not into beers as much but nonetheless, this place has a really stacked roster of options. They always have a food truck on the weekends and sometimes have live events like shows or charity events. They support the city firefighters and have hosted multiple events, including motorcycle clubs, car, clubs, and fundraisers. They recently celebrated their 9th year in business, and while things have been challenging since COVID, this is exactly the kind of local business we should be supporting by coming out, grabbing a pint, and spending time together--especially during the holidays. We celebrated my mom's 75th birthday here last Sunday, and she had the best time (even though she doesn't drink!). Her friends were able to join us from near and far, thanks to plenty of parking, a beautifully decorated indoor and outdoor space, a delicious food truck on site, and some truly extraordinary bartenders who made the day feel extra special. I can't say enough great things about the beer, the events, and the sense of camaraderie that Mt. Lowe Brewing Co. offers. Mt. Lowe has been my favorite brewery since it opened up in 2016. I feel like it's definitely a bit of a hidden gem, off of First Ave and St. Joseph, you could easily drive past. But please, do yourself a favor and stop in! The selection of beers available is always fantastic, from blondes to porters, they've really got it all. There's almost always a new beer to try, and a new favorite to be had! My favorite mainstays are definitely the Huntington Hef and the Thaddeus, but I'm always excited to try one of their new beers, which they have so frequently!! My current fav is Uncle Franks Backyard Brew - a coconut porter that's to die for. You're also doing yourself a disservice if you haven't tried their new rum barrel aged seltzer yet!! The service is always fantastic - you'll not meet a nicer or more sincere group of people. Everyone behind the bar is so fun and kind, and always excited to show you what's new! There are games like, billiards, foosball, and shuffleboard, not to mention tons of card and board games available. Theres also a huge amazing patio outside, which is perfect for those warm summer evenings. I've been here a couple of times for group functions. There is an outdoor patio area that people can just hangout. There are usually food trucks outside that people can order the food. The service is super friendly. The staff was very chill. I think there was only one person working tonight on a Tuesday night. But she manages to serve the crowd with a smile. There are several beer on tap that are brewed on the premise. It's cool to see the giant vats! I got the mango hef and Parsons Sex Magic tonight. The mango hef is very crisp and refreshing. But it's a bit tart than the hefs I usually taste. The Parsons Sex Magic was $4/pint on Tuesday. It's described to me as acquired taste with salty, tangy and berry flavor. That's exactly what I tasted. And acquired taste for sure. I'm not sure I will order it again. Lol There are a couple of foosball table and pool table for people to play. Fellow yelper arranged a small, surprise birthday party for another fellow yelper at this establishment which I thought was perfect because the birthday guy likes beer. They don't serve food, but they did have a "food truck" out in the front which many of us purchased food from. The food was good, and the price wasn't to bad. Since we had an area to ourselves, I bought some goodies from Porto's and of course the birthday cake. Our sitting area was large enough to seat less than 30 of us and the table space was sufficient. They have an array of beers to choose from and since I HATE beer, I was fortunate to actually find something that I liked called the sparkly rader which wasn't bad! They had a cute sampler that many of the party goers purchased which I definite would have bought if I liked beer. The 20 somethings kept themselves busy in the gaming area which I LOVED. I communicated with one of the owners completely through text regarding setting up for our PTA mixer. I was not sure how it was going to go doing all of this sight unseen. My other board members had been there before and recommended we do our event there but I had never even seen it. Communication was quick, clear and friendly. I thought Emily was a delight to deal with. Setup was fast and easy. We originally booked the outside patio area but it was so warm out that it was decided that we should move it inside. It was not an issue at all. There is no food served there, so we were able to bring our own entrees and desserts. There was also a food truck outside. The only thing not allowed was outside alcohol. I didn't realize it was kid and family friendly. There was literally an infant being rocked by her dad! LOL! There were a few bar games: darts, shuffleboard and, hook and ring. A bunch of the dads got the flights of beer, one got a second. Every one of them loved the Scooby-Doo. Everyone had such a good time. I had never been to a brewery before in my life and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it, despite not being someone who drinks alcohol (hence why I've never been to a brewery). Stepping in to Mt Lowe's is like stepping into a friend's house - there's music and some TVs as well as games you can play at a table, plenty of seating too. They have food vendors there almost all the time which is great so you don't have to wait in line at the nearby In N Out for 25 minutes just to order. The staff source the vendors themselves and love taking feedback from customers, which is something I appreciate.
