If you're looking for a brewery where you can trust the recommendations, this is the place. The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about craft beer. Instead of simply asking what I wanted, she took the time to learn my taste preferences and explained the flavor profiles of different beers in detail. She even went out of her way to share a few of her own favorite beers that she thought I would enjoy--those personal recommendations made the experience feel genuine rather than just another transaction. The Hazy IPA I ended up with was excellent: juicy, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and welcoming. Found and quickly became addicted to Twisted Pig Pretzels at a local brewery until they stopped carrying them. Found out from a friend that this brewery not only carries them, but in both the 3 oz and 10 oz bags! Learned from chatting with the nice bar lady that the owner of pretzel business would come and personally drop off the shipments! Very chill brewery. Enjoyed the laidback vibe. It was over 90 degrees and the A/C was off. The beer tender said the air consisting didn't work. Then they stated that if only turns on durning consistent heat waves, so I don't know which one is true. I asked if they can turn it on but they said no. Fun little micro-brewery located in a small strip mall. Parking is pretty good, especially after 5:00 PM. Stopped in because Yelp had an event for the participating food truck, Bawk Bawk Chicken, and decided that a beer would go perfectly with my food. HIGHPOINT hosts different food trucks, so there's always something to nibble on. They had Trivia Night during my visit, which was quite fun. I had a table to myself, but because of the smaller seating area, a group of three joined me and we all enjoyed the trivia. BEER: I tried the Mexican Lager ($7/pint) which was quite good: lite, smooth, with a touch of sweetness. Friends that were also there that night enjoyed their selections as well. During their Thursday and Friday happy hour, they have a special 3 pints for $15. They also offer flights of 4 beers, so you can sample several before choosing your pint. Came here because Yelp had an event for their food truck, Bawk Bawk Chicken, and decided to stay while enjoying a beer with my food. Although it appeared small, there is actually more outdoor seating in the back area and loved that there was a good flow of air circulating throughout with the front door open and the open space in the back. I also loved that the night we happen to be there was also trivia night. Haven't been to one since the start of the pandemic and always enjoyed participating. We were a bit rusty as we came in 3rd place but it was still fun nonetheless. Only 1st and 2nd place winners get prizes. The host was fun, the vibe was chill and the beers were strong! In a sea of breweries this one unfortunately does not stand out. The space is decent, though small, and fits your typical business park brewery setup. The service was adequate as well. We ordered a flight of 4 beers for $12. The flight included a blonde ale, pale ale, red ale, and stout. Most of the beers were okay, nothing particularly unique or special about any of them. However, the blind ale had a distinctly bad flavor to it. I don't know if the tap was just off but it tasted soapy. There is a small seating area outside in the parking and there was a food truck when we were there. Given the number of breweries in the surrounding area, I don't think I would return but perhaps we caught them on an off day. read more

Brewery visit #154! HPB is in a nice little strip mall area. Unfortunately not a lot of space inside but they set up a table for us on the walkway out front. I started with the "Sabro In Space" a NEIPA. It had a nice fruity aroma and flavor to it. SWPFTD predictably ordered up the Uncles Red ale. This one had a little too much hop for my preference in a red ale but was good. I just prefer the maltier, less hoppy reds. I finished up with the Tango Brown but scored a taste of the bourbon barrel aged brown. The regular brown had a nice flavor and was very well done. The bourbon barrel aged was obvious and had an excellent bourbon aroma and flavor. If SWPFTD hadn't wanted to try the regular brown I would have gone with this one. I would have liked to sample a full flight but no such luck. Perhaps on a return trip! Been coming during Covid so just pick up and go, but they're always up for a chat, and the music streaming is always chill! Did hang out one day for one of the food vendors outside, the pizza guys... A small, but very enjoyable brewery. We came here later in the day on a Sunday. There were several other groups already here, but we were able to find a table and grab a drink no problem. They had plenty of board games and card games and a jukebox. There was a taco stand outside serving delicious street tacos and quesadillas. The beer tender was super friendly and even offered juice boxes to my kids. It wasn't overly loud inside either. Music was playing and people were having conversations, but you didn't have to tell across the table to have a conversation with your own group. I definitely recommend giving this brewery a try. read more

The staff is not engaged with their costumers. I enjoy breweries because of the small business friendly feel. I do not get that with this brewery. The staff almost seems annoyed that you buy a beer at the counter. There has also been a handful of times when I ordered beer during happy hour not knowing it was happy hour and they make no effort is offering any recommendations to get the happy hour pricing. This is the opposite of Arrow Lodge Brewery and other local breweries. These other breweries don't want you to miss out on their deals because they understand the value of repeat business . I'd recommend you hit another brewery in the area. Or not ‍ . Do what you want. That's just my experience. Something about this place just seems disingenuous. read more

Came into check out this place on a Friday night because "The Night times" local West Covina band was playing, so thought I'd stop in and give this place a try. Small venue for a band, but it was a quaint place. We walked in to see the beers, I had the blonde beer and that was really good. My boyfriend had a an IPA which he said was really good too (can't remember the name). We ordered a pizza from the outside vender that I'm sorry I can't remember their name but let me rave about their pickle pizza, "rave rave.." It was soooo delicious and who would have thought?? Pickles... The staff at HIGHPOINT was pretty friendly, the pretzels they sell (zesty) are really good. They do have jerky but didn't try that. The only reason I gave it a 3 star, not because everything I mentioned above, I dinged it for the bathroom. Pretty nasty! No wait, disgusting!! Being a female, I went in one, walked out and waited for the other, gross too! Decided to just hold it! It's a shame they don't have regular cleaning for restrooms there. And they're unisex to boot! If you have been following me or reading my reviews for some time, you already know that I LOVE craft beer... BUT it pains me to say this, this place I didn't love so much! I went to get a haircut at the original barbershop (great place) and saw there was a brewery next door. I went inside to see how the vibe was, and at first it seemed pretty chill. It was mellow, quiet, and had a few empty seats. I went up to the bar and the guy who greeted me was a little rude. I ordered a flight (first time here) and asked him for his opinion. He said "idk man, I don't know your pallet" to then I replied, "I just want to know the popular beers here." He said "just get 4 of what ever you want for tasters, they're all good." Once I ordered my flight, he handed it to me and said "idc where you go, sit inside, go outside, I don't care." Mind you this is my first time here, and I mentioned that to him when I walked in, right before I said what would you recommend? Shouldn't you want to give amazing service to attract me back?! Idk, just a thought. As I sat down, they had chill music playing, comfy seats (for a small amount of time) and a cool assortment of merch, snacks etc. (I didn't buy any) Even though I got crappy service I was still willing to give this place a chance... Out of the 4 beers I tried, 1 was crushable. The others were awful, and that hurts to say that.. I wouldn't come here again, it pains me to say this, but there are definitely better places within 10mile radius If you go, I hope you have a better experience then me and a better tasting batch. read more
