This is our favorite happy hour spot in Monrovia! My sister and I loveee the shrimp tacos, it never disappoints. On top of that, I always get the crispy chicken slider along with the $4 happy hour taco (one time it was carne asada, another time was pescado-- both were delicious). My favorite go-to drink would be the hibiscus margarita or the red sangria-- would actually get both some days. My friend enjoys the salsa and chips for $3. Service is pretty good, ambiance is nice. Sena might just be my new favorite restaurant. Located on Myrtle in Monrovia this is an absolute gem in the gem. I ordered the special of the day, Niks steak sandwich, and it was absolutely amazingly diabolicaly delicious! The chimichurri with the provalone blended with the super tender steak beautifully. The bread was as soft as the pillows at the Vegas Wynn, if u know, u know. I gobbled up that thing like it was my first meal out of jail. We love Sena and go regularly but service has been really bad lately. The host is really unfriendly (no welcome, hi, how are you doing). We've had a lot of good dinners here and enjoy the food but at this particular time service was really bad and slow. Food was decent, though the fries tasted like fish (maybe fried in same oil?). The servers saw we needed service but ignored us and went to chat behind the bar against the wall, giggling and gossiping. I booked a table for five for mother's day. Everything was terrific. We sat outside and were greeted and served promptly. The service was spot-on, very much appreciated that. The food was very good. I had red chilaquilles with chorizo added. Wow, great stuff. Oh, and their salsa is tasty. The rest of the table had chips and guac (both homemade and delicious), burgers, burritos and fish tacos. Overall the food was worth returning for. The only snafu was the food came out in stages, two meals first, then quite a bit later, three meals. I got to go back to Sena On Myrtle with more friends and a fur baby, after we were turned away from another restaurant not allowing dogs. We knew Sena on Myrtle would seat us with my friend's dog and we are so glad we went here instead! We were seated outside on the Myrtle street patio on a Saturday night. It was pretty loud and rowdy inside and outside since there was a game going on but we didn't mind it. My friends and I got appetizers and dessert to share: sweet potato fries and churros to start. Our little fur baby guest sitting under the table also got her own thing off the dog menu (which is relatively knew I heard). We ordered her a chicken breast and it was served warm and cooked for her to eat as well. What a nice addition! We were so glad Sena is dog friendly. They even have a selection of non-alcoholic drinks for gals like me, like their non-alcoholic Virgin Michelada - I would come back just for this drink! I ordered their Summer Steak Salad and my friends ordered a variety of tacos. The salad was just what I was looking for - fresh with a little zing, which I loved. All the food was affordable, reasonably-priced, and delicious. I've been here 3 different times. I enjoyed what I ordered every visit. The food here is amazing. David is an outstanding server. Super attentive and does provide good menu options. Great vibe. Great music. Seating inside and out. They even have a back patio. First visit I tried their Mediterranean Chicken Bowl. I gave this dish a 10/10 and recommended it to my sister my second visit and she loved it. My second visit I tried their Buffalo Wings. Crispy on the outside juicy on the inside. Made perfectly. 10/10. My third visit with hesitation I ordered the short rib chilaquiles with both red and green salsa per David's recommendation. Probably the best chilaquiles I've ever had. The chilaquiles were crispy and stayed crispy throughout. Both salsas were delicious and although green tends to be my favorite I actually preferred the red for this one. The short rid was tender, juicy, and flavorful. All the elements on this dish could stand alone but were perfect together. read more

Stumbled across this place via my work for their networking event on Taco Tuesdays. I've been to Main street Monrovia a couple of times but always missed this place. It's got good vibes for a nice cozy get together with friends/coworkers not too loud nor quiet. General TLDR, more information below: Service & Ambience: 4.5/5 food: 2.5/5 The service here is great, the staff is always mindful and checking up on us to see how our meal is doing and if we need anything else. Now onto the food itself: Spicy Buttermilk fried chicken taco : Never have I ever thought I would see buttermilk fried chicken in a taco... I'd say the appearance is it's main impact. Taste wise, I think the seasoning of the chicken couldn't stand on equal footing with the havarti cheese and sriracha as they were too overpowering. the tenderness of the chicken was there though. al pastor: As a control, i opt'd for al pastor to get a gauge of their taco chops, figuratively speaking. I want to say it generally felt tasteless, the guacamole didn't have enough seasoning. I'd probably expect maybe a pineapple piece to accompany the taco too for aesthetic/taste. for $4.5 on Taco tuesday, I'd expect at least two tacos probably for that price not just for one short rib grilled cheese: Feeling still a bit peckish, I ordered a short rib grilled cheese. I'll say I couldn't taste any short rib as I feel it was masked with the aioli/caramelized onions/provolone cheese. I would not recommend this the next time I go and probably go for the more traditional American options. Parking is fairly convenient around here as there are various free public parking spots dotted around the street. As a first time goer, I'd just around 1 block from the street and you'll see public parking signs. read more

The food was good but the service was not. We were a large group and our waitress was good and patient in taking all of our orders. When we got our food, mine was missing one taco as I ordered two. The person who brought our food (not the waitress) was rude and annoyed that I asked for the second taco. He rolled his eyes and said that the order was submitted and brought out and that was that. Everyone around me let him know that I ordered two tacos (that is how they are sold, by two) he was extremely rude and unapologetic about his behavior. We have always liked coming to Sena on the menu today we started with the shrimp and fish ceviche. We were hungry so I forgot to take a picture of it but it was fresh and good. I ordered a bottle of champagne that comes with berries and 2 juice options I ordered cranberry and a orange-strawberry juice. I ordered the loaded hash brown with chorizo it was filling and really good. My husband ordered the burrito #5 that has steak, bacon, and French fries the portion was good and it came with a side of chips. We sat in the back patio area which was nice and cool. What an incredible local spot. You can tell the staff is having a great time and working together immaculately, especially Yvonne and Sierra, who are total sweethearts... Coming from a decade of restaurant management, I love watching a well-oiled machine and attentive, friendly crew. Food is great (ceviche is a catch when they have it, but the salsa is craving-inducing), and their cocktail list is always perfectly mixed.
