Service was excellent. The ambiance perfect, they have TV's if your looking for a place to watch some sports. The food was great. We started out with guacamole and chips. Different items on the menu got everyone's taste. Here's what we tried. Shrimp fajitas which comes with rice, beans, pico de gallo , guac and your choice of tortillas. Veggies, bell pepper and onion. Perfect for sharing! The chile relleno comes with a side of rice, beans, and your choice of tortillas. Really good flavor and juicy. Battered fried fish tacos with cabbage slaw and chipotle aioli. Perfect pairing with a cucumber margarita. The birria tacos, 3 flavorful, juicy birria and cheese tacos with salsa to taste. The birria burrito comes with chips. They are delicious chubby flavorful burritos. Last but not least the birria quesadilla. Great flavor and as the others, cheese cheese cheese. Overall the food was great the service receive the drinks were bomb. Definitely a must try .

Cheers!

I'm happy to say my second visit was just as good as the first. If not better. Sweet Sam & I were here to celebrate our darling Ms. Hannah's birthday. It was happy hour, so we were ready to indulge. Hannah & I both got the Shrimp Ceviche Tostada - a deal for $6 during Happy Hour. Sam ordered the Beer Battered Avocado Tacos (not HH), and we shared the Garlic Fries (not HH). The Ceviche Tostada was so good. The shrimp was fresh and it was topped with sliced avocado. I also liked the accompanying hot sauces. It was the perfect amount for me. Sam loved the tacos. They looked yummy. Or course we devoured the Garlic Fries. What made this visit so great (aside from the delicious food & tasty margaritas) was the excellent service we received from Matt! He was friendly, fun, and personable. I found out later that he and his wife Melissa are the owners. The fact that Matt is hands on and enjoys engaging with his customers earns this place a solid five stars.

Food is still always consistently excellent, vibes are chill and fun, and service/owner is always welcoming and so friendly! We love Knight Cap and it's always a great place for our occasional gals-get-togethers. They have a special taco Tuesday menu and an awesome happy hour menu with great prices for smaller portions of their main menu fan favorites. They do trivia nights on Wednesdays as well as other fun events throughout the week. Their tacos are always a hit and I love their shrimp ceviche tostadas - the veggies and shrimp are so fresh and flavorful. Their salsas are delicious too - honestly haven't had a bad dish here ever! Great spot for margaritas and tacos in a perfect location in the heart of Old Town Monrovia - I still highly recommend Knight Cap!

Fantastic food. For real. 10 out of 10. Service was over the top good and the place was busy. Highly recommend chile rellenos and the enchilada soup. Was so good we ordered nachos as encore. Loved late hours too. Happy hour in effect before 6 and after 10 on week days. We'll be back.

I was really craving some Mexican food so decided to stop by Knight Cap in the old town area of Monrovia and it was great. Relatively empty inside on a Sat afternoon for lunch so I quickly snagged a seat at the bar and the female server was very quick and attentive. Got myself a skinny spicy margarita and some ceviche. Both were delicious and it was a nice and relaxing afternoon.

Very happy Sunday!!

I was ravished from the night before & hubby brought me here for breakfast, it was an awesome choice! First off they had The Dodgers game on, seated quickly, good service and the food was on point. We started with a nice cold beer....breakfast beverage of the champs! Hubby ordered chilaquiles and I got the potato tacos, they were perfectly crispy and had fresh tasty toppings. Their michelada mix is perfectly seasoned, went great with my Estrella Jalisco. I would definitely stop by again for another awesome meal!

FLAVORFUL!!! Taco Tuesday was a refreshing and tasty surprise! After a long day of traveling. I did a Google search for restaurants that were open late and I saw the photos. Knight Cap looked like a traveler's spot to relax, people watch, and dine on some local comfort food. I WAS 100% RIGHT! If the tacos were this great I can only imagine what the rest of the fare is like. Till then my tummy will growl for the rest of the menu. Shrimp, Chicken, and Pastor are the tacos that blew my mind. Great job KC!!!

Yes! Shockingly good! Was hanging out here as a midpoint for an ie friend. Looked at the menu and decided to eat here. Our server was sweet but by herself. It'd be a fun place to watch a game. The chips and salsa were great, flavor and not a lot of spice. I couldn't decide on the surf & turf burrito and the birria quesadilla. Sadly I didn't get our servers name but she recommended the quesadilla. After I said yes I realized I really wanted a burrito. Food came out pretty quick. My friend tried his burrito and was shocked it was so good. I was like why are you shocked lol. Then I tried mine and understood. Idek how to explain it but it's just surprisingly really amazing. Foods just really flavorful and well done. Good size portions of steak & shrimp in the burrito and the sauce was complimentary and so so good. Bathrooms low key sketch in the back lol but I would absolutely go back.

Now who doesn't want a Knight cap? I Do!!! I had a really good time here! The food was excellent and the drinks were bomb! For my food I ordered the potato tacos, chips and guac, and my friend ordered chicken and steak fajitas, which he said was very delicious...he finished so rapidly like Major Payne haha *inside joke* but anyways the food is good no disappointment! Drinks: I had sangria and Hennessy Sidecar and they were very scrumptious! Made to perfection by Melissa and Matt!!! The service was top notch and exceptional! Matt and Melissa and the cooks were very nice and accommodating! They were attentive the whole time and easy going. I didn't want tomatoes and they prepared it without for me. The ambiance is prefect! It's quaint but a decent size for a fun night out or happy hour which is from opening until 6pm. We sat at the bar and it was a vibe. They had the games on which made the outing chill! Overall, I highly recommend Knight Cap! It's a good vibe, good deals, and yummy food! I'm happy I've finally tried this from my bookmark list, which was over a year. -Marshay D.

Guava Margarita. So good!
Lourdes P.

Visited this amazing place for the first time and it did not disappoint. The cocktails were amazing! I had their Guava Margarita, Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita and Blueberry Lemon Drop and they were absolutely delicious. My hubby and I also had their birria tacos and potato tacos and they were so good!!! Definitely returning. Oh! And the staff is super friendly and attentive. If you are ever in the neighborhood and looking for good food and cocktails, this is worth it.

The restaurant was kind of empty during our visit today; however, it is a small place -- and it was kind of nice. Every other time I have passed it (usually in the evening) it is packed. So, it was nice to be quiet today. Our service was friendly. I had the spicy chicken sandwich, which is a huge sandwich and it was delicious. It was not really spicy; however, I know -- for the masses. It was still absolutely delicious though. I did upgrade my salad to the side Cesar salad and it also was delicious. Overall, it was a nice win for lunch today. I even was able to wrap up half of my sandwich to bring home later. Dessert -- not this time -- but I'll be back!

The food and drinks feel more…read moreelevated than most spots nearby, and as locals in Monrovia, we were hoping it could become a regular for us. This last visit was frustrating enough that we won't be rushing back. We came in just before 6:00 PM with a babysitter and a limited window. The restaurant wasn't busy, maybe five tables, but service was completely off. Our entrée took about 45 minutes. It was comped, but no one acknowledged the delay. No apology, no explanation, nothing. We also got the wrong side (fries instead of onion rings), and while it was corrected quickly, it added to the overall feeling that no one was really paying attention. The bigger issue was how absent the service felt. Our server never came back for a second round of drinks, and I had to go to the bar myself. When I mentioned it, the response was basically that the server was busy with another table, which felt dismissive given how long we had already been waiting. No one was busy. By the time food arrived, it was around 6:45 PM. The problem wasn't just the wait, it was the lack of communication or basic hospitality the entire time. I actually emailed the restaurant directly after our visit and never heard back, which is disappointing and honestly says a lot. At this point, it's hard not to feel like they just don't really care about the customer experience or about keeping people coming back. It's a shame, because the place has potential, but right now it doesn't feel like it's being taken seriously.

It proved more difficult when dealing with the owner Scott. I'll start by saying the end result was us rescheduling at the same rate that we booked & our event went well, however it wasn't without hiccups. When rescheduling, we were specifically instructed by Scott to cancel our booking in Peerspace & rebook the new date. That's when issues started. Before cancelling I mentioned how Peerspace won't refund our full amount & Scott replied that whatever isn't refunded will be credited toward the new date. That didn't happen without us constantly reaching out via text, email, & Peerspace. When you request a date on Peerspace it's pending review/approval from Blush, however it charges you immediately. Since we opted for the payment plan that required about half down & remainder later, we were waiting on our refund to book the new date. It never came. When we were finally able to have a phone call with Scott, I couldn't get one word in the entire time he was mansplaining the world of business. He was very patronizing & I swallowed my pride because we just wanted a resolve & to not lose the deposit. I asked very clearly whether he was going to uphold our agreement. He did, but under the condition that we pay the remainder of our balance upfront in good faith to them. We did & that was that. Thereafter, it was back & forth whether Chris would still be working our event which Scott said he was. Chris was the saving grace of Blush in our opinion. Customer service & how you treat people is king, so it put our hearts at ease. But not for long, since it was changed later to Jin. Getting Jin to respond was difficult. We requested a final walk through with our coordinator about a month before our event. Jin told us he wasn't feeling well & wasn't present for most of the walk through. So we asked questions via email instead. I specifically mentioned a clean facility is important to us. The place just wasn't as polished as we first saw it. He was responsive only after I'd send text follow ups. The week of, not at all. I was waiting on confirmation about our drink selection which I never got & we just hoped it would all work out the day of. Day of our coordinator arrived first. The bathrooms were clean but the bar, cocktail tables, mirror hallway, & front door were full of fingerprints and sticky as if not cleaned from a previous event. We were told there would be 2 staff & that they'd be able to help us move cocktail tables. We weren't aware one of those people would be Jin & he wasn't helpful at all. He completely ignored our coordinator & aunt, but jumped to help our DJ with the sound system. We can only conclude it's because our DJ is a man & as a same sex female couple that leaves such a bad taste in our mouths. Our coordinator & aunt ended up cleaning everything with the one rag & spray bottle he gave after we repeated asked. Coordinator, wife, son, & I moved the heavy tables/ottomans. The drinks didn't taste like our selections. But the worst part was that he started charging our guests upon arrival. My wife & I stepped away to change our clothes. We were there 1.5hrs before start time & Jin never approached us or our coordinator for our card. He also had our itinerary ahead of time and met our coordinator. FYI on top of booking fees, you're also required to use their bar service for ALL drinks alcohol/nonalcohol which is included info on Peerspace. We agreed we'd cover the required minimum of $2500 & once we reached that amount it would turn into a cash bar. Our guests approached us confused about the bar so my wife personally went to Jin & asked why people were being charged, to which he responded "I couldn't find you guys." They immediately include their tip, which we weren't aware of, so drinks totaled to about $2100 w/ the remainder being tax/tip. They continuously ran out of cups & had zero cups for the water dispensers. We were refilling used water bottles to give to the kids. My aunt & cousin were busing tables. Bartenders didn't care to stay quiet or hold drink orders during vows. Every video we have of our vows is them shaking drinks & slamming glassware. There were good things too, kinda. It wasn't communicated to us that the front bathroom was for staff only & we had a outfit change planned, so after first saying no, Jin ended up letting my wife & I use the front bathroom. Also him assisting our DJ resulted in the music going well. It's sadly overshadowed by all the other things that needed improvement. It comes down to a lack of customer service & professional decorum, because the venue itself is beautiful. We gave a final 3 STARS because everything came together. Those missing components are just so vital. A work day for them is literally someone else's most important day that they're choosing and paying to celebrate at Blush.

We squeezed our way toward the back just to find a little breathing room, but it was constant "excuse me" in every direction. With how packed it was, the bartenders seemed to be moving at a slow pace with little sense of urgency, which made getting to the bar nearly impossible. After waiting about 10 minutes without being able to place an order, we ended up leaving. It was disappointing, especially after driving out excited to try the drinks we saw online.
