Feeling the vibe of the great Fernando Valenzuela...sitting at the table next to his booth.

Happen to be in the area, craving Mexican food....this is a large spacious restaurant, wide open seating if you choose the dining room on the left as you enter, but I liked the bar area. Discovered a lovely tribute mural of the iconic baseball player on a discreet corner wall. tucked into the book of the bar .. first corner booth. I'm seated at the adjacent table so to enjoy the painting and to think about the great athleticism of an athlete who broke the mold. And I know why Fernando liked to eat here...gosh the food is good, generous, authentic. I had the combination of crispy taco 5/5 with carnitas, an enchilada (shredded beef) 5/5 ad a fluffy scrumptious chile relleno 10/5. So good. My server is friendly helpful and told me it didnt cost extra to add the carne in the cheese enchilada. Attentive but not overly, checked in , dodnt have to flag. Excellent service 5/5 The manager stopped by, gave me extra napkins and we chatted about the original artwork commissioned. Big kudos to the owner for supporting local artists. Really a pleasurable dining experience. Highly recommend. Lucky you will be to sit in Fernando's booth.

Food was good and the beers were cold. They serve their burritos wet which was prime. Plenty of seating and a full bar. I went with a carnitas burrito and it was super tasty. Comes with a full plate of sides too. More than enough to eat and took some home. There is plenty of parking around the back. I was seated right away on a Saturday night which was nice.

This was my first visit to this location. I saw an announcement on social media inviting the community to meet Artist Ryan Burch. A mural of former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, Fernando Valenzuela was to be unveiled on November 12th. I want to THANK the owners, who prepared a huge celebration, with Mariachi musicians and singers. They dedicated an area in one of their dining rooms to permanently display the beautiful mural. It was like a collage that highlighted the career and accomplishments of #34 Fernando Valenzuela. We also sampled their delicious food and drinks. It was a full house as Dodger fans from the area turned out for this event. A great time to honor and remember an athlete who gave so much to Los Angeles. Bookmark this restaurant to dine when you're in the area. You can admire the art work while you are here. Don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!

Met up with friends that go here regularly- but it was our first time. The chips came out nice and warm and the salsa tasted yummy and homemade. I got 2 fish tacos with a side of pinto beans and it was so good. I couldn't finish half my plate because the portions were decent and because the chips and salsa were addicting- or maybe I was so hungry over indulged on the chips! Fun and clean atmosphere and lots of friendly staff. The hubby had beef tacos! Check out some photos. Oh and of course I had to try the Bloody Mary! Was a little too strong as I am a light weight.

Although the Racho locations is much larger with minimal wait times. The Monrovia location is located on Myrtle in old town Monrovia, it has decent parking options but be mindful of the Friday night market happening on Myrtle between Lemon and Chestnut. This location is smaller and may require a wait to be seated but the service, food and libations are pretty good. The ambiance is on trendy side with a variety of age groups from Boomers to human and fur babies. The outdoor patio allows for dogs on a leash. We started off with drinks, girl next door; vodka, elderflower and blackberries, a mezcal drink which I can't recall but both drinks were good! For starters we ordered the bacon wrapped dates with bleu and mascarpone cheese and tempura green beans. Our entrees for the evening were the poblano burger with side salad and the chicken breast with mushroom risotto and broccolini. There was no room for desert otherwise I would've gone with the bread pudding. This is definitely a must try if in the Monrovia area.

The place wasn't too busy but fairly full, we got a table right away by the manager and sat down, immediately a staff came and provided water and menus. It wasn't dark outside yet and so the restaurant was still bright, but once the sun settled down the restaurant got really dark and neon lights started to hit hard! It was like a night in the streets scene. Very cool but also hard to see food sometimes. We ordered a large boneless chicken (sweet chili and Korean spicy, mild), tteokbokki, bulgolgi and rice, and a side of fries. I would say that mild is really mild, definitely better for me because I cannot stand spicy but my table wanted spicy but I thought I can do mild and yes it was delicious and sweet chili was not spicy at all! Lorena spicy had a kick so I did try it but can't have much. We asked for gloves to help us eat them with our hands! The bulgolgi was the star, I think everyone liked it including my son who ate so much of it! Fries were crispy and soft, I thought they were great. My son didn't eat much of it but it's because he ate a lot of the bulgolgi. Tteokbokki was just as spicy, I had a taste and flavor was good but too spicy for me. Staff came to clean up as we finished eating and checked on us very often. Restrooms are individual and gendered, it does form a line sometimes. Overall, great staff, food, and overall vibe!

We sat at a table by the front window facing the main drag. The area definitely has an old town feel with many restaurants and shops up and down the street. There is also a park right across the street. There is plenty of parking around the corner on the street and in a nearby lot. I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

The food is delicious and the prices are appropriate given the portion sizes. Service was prompt and professional. Parking might be a challenge, though there are public lots within a block or two. We went on a Friday night and encountered heavy traffic from the local farmer's market/fair. The best item was the Beef kabob, 5 out of 5 stars. It was perfectly cooked, a very simply salt and pepper seasoning, juicy and simply divine! We got the kids meal, which came with only 4 pieces, and I'd be interested to return for the full adult portion. Also a 5-star experience was the Fried cauliflower appetizer. It had just the right amount of crispiness, without any blackening, and the garlic/parsley/lemon juice combo worked well. The juice was sucked into all the crevices, and overall it was light. I think I could have eaten two portions myself and called it a satisfying meal. I did dip in some tzatziki, which worked great too! Lastly the Chicken shawarma was a 4-star dish. Still delicious and I'd get it again, but it was slightly salty from the marinade and added sauce. I was expecting this to be wrapped up, but it was more an open-face naan with the chicken covering the top.
