Really lovely place. Very spacious seating. The service, the staff and the servers were quite lovely. The food was absolutely delicious. I literally drive an hour just to come here for their sausage platter. This is truly the best sausage platter I have ever had in my life. The monster sized garlic pretzel dipped in the decadent hot cheese dip is absolutely splendid. The dish comes with real mustard sauce like with real mustard seeds. Then there's a delicious sauerkraut and three superbly delicious sausages. Two people can eat this comfortably. The garlic fries with the garlic ranch is also a must have here. My husband ordered the chicken wings, which I did not get to try cause I was so stuffed with everything else. He said the wings were not bad. The drinks here are delicious. read more

Basin 141 Social Bar & Kitchen delivers exactly what you want from a neighborhood spot that knows how to execute comfort food with confidence. The vibe is relaxed and social--welcoming without trying too hard--making it an easy choice for brunch or a casual meal where you actually want to linger. Service was friendly and attentive, striking that perfect balance between being present and letting you enjoy your time. The Breakfast Burger is the kind of dish that instantly earns repeat-visit status. Juicy, well-seasoned beef topped with a perfectly cooked egg and all the right breakfast elements, it's indulgent without being overwhelming. Every bite hits--savory, rich, and satisfying. The biscuits and gravy deserve their own moment. The biscuits were fluffy yet sturdy, and the gravy was creamy, peppery, and clearly made with care--not an afterthought, but a standout. Overall, Basin 141 Social Bar & Kitchen nails the details that matter: solid execution, comforting flavors, and a vibe that makes you want to come back. read more

Had the best brunch, Everything was delicious l from the food to the drinks and the quality really stood out. The chicken and waffles were divine perfectly crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The portions were great, flavors were on point, and everything came out fresh. The atmosphere is fun and inviting, and the service was just as amazing friendly, attentive, and fast. Definitely one of my favorite brunch spots. Can't wait to come back! read more

Basin 141 is located in the heart of Monrovia; it is surrounded by numerous other businesses offering food and services. The menu consisted of food of all kinds and they even have items that can be veganized. I ordered the Chopped Kale Caesar Salad and it was truly delicious. I skipped the poached egg, shredded Parmesan, and dressing for squeezed lemon. The portion sizes were also very good. It is a medium sized gastropub and has plenty of charm. They have clean restrooms and outdoor dining; weekend brunch available only on the weekends. I have my eyes on the Buffalo cauliflower without the bleu dressing next time. The service was wonderful and the vibe was great. This was one of the things I did on that day that made me smile. #SmileDaily read more

Nice place for lunch with a friend. I enjoyed my time here. FOOD I ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious and fresh. Would definitely have them again! I shared my friend's parm and garlic fries, I've had better! Something was missing. Hmmm AMBIANCE We sat outside since it was an afternoon in Monrovia. Tables and seats were clean. The area outside has a little fence which is nice to not worry about a random person grabbing your food and running away! lol. Hey! It can happen. lol I didn't go inside so I can't judge it. SERVICE The young woman that assisted us was very nice attentive, and on time with everything. She was great at giving us some tips on what to order and I appreciate that. She seemed very knowledgeable of their menu. No complaints here at all. RESTROOM Since I didn't visit the facilities at this finest establishment, I can't review that. You know I always try to hit the restrooms for you guys. Next time because I would definitely love to go back! read more

Great service, great drinks and great food! Try the wings, you won't regret it! Always a good time at Basin!

If I could give zero stars I would. We eat out 1-2 times a week and though we haven't been back here in 3-4 months, we've come several times before. Food was always good but today the service was HORRIBLE! I often give leeway if an establishment is super busy but on a Wednesday at 5:30pm it was not packed. We were walked to a bar height eating area where we sat, and sat, and sat for about 13-15 minutes without even an acknowledgment from anyone. No water, no "hi", like we were invisible, though 3-4 servers walked right by us. We dress well on "date nights" and we were shocked at this horrific lack of service. We found another place down the street on Myrtle, and they were so welcoming and the food outstanding that it has now replaced B-41. We will NEVER return. read more

Another fun local spot we hit up for date night or family night. This time we had a quick date night and enjoyed a cocktail (I can't remember the name ) and some dinner. The salmon was great. I had double broccoli instead of quinoa and my husband had the ahi salad which is always good and flavorful. Service is always good, even though they are always running around and busy. read more

Had brunch here this morning and it was perf. It was empty around 10:15am when we got there and wasn't half full by the time we left at 11:45. They have bottomless mimosas with purchase of an entree, but we had tat appointments right after brunch, so we couldn't get that lol. My friends had the breakfast burgers, which were enormous. One subbed the salad for garlic fries and those were amazing. I had the breakfast burrito and couldn't finish it even though I was starving. Paired that with 2 bloody marys, which were perfect. It's super cute inside and had good lighting for pics. They had a lot of stuff on tap. Would definitely come back here to try some dinner and beer sometime. read more

Good food and friendly service, in a quaint location in old town Monrovia. Good selection of drinks and beers.

I want to thank David the bartender very pleasant man and great attitude. He was extremely busy that night and he was in and out of the bar helping out his colleague at bar serving drinks, even though I was not his client at that moment, he went out of his way to help and provide a great service. read more

Great place to go hang out, have some food, drinks and watch the Dodger game in Old Town Monrovia. I loved the decor, very chill and inviting. We had a burger, sweet potatoe fries, quinoa and arugula salad as well as a chicken fried sandwich. We also had dessert; (churro waffles , vanilla ice cream and chocolate brioche bread pudding) all were delicious, I'll be craving them churros! All the food was delicious! The service was great, we were well taken care of. We'll definitely come back to have some great food and watch a game. read more

Food was solid, but the service was disappointing. One of the waitresses came across as having a poor attitude and was quite aggressive with upselling, which made the experience uncomfortable. There was also a 3% credit card surcharge that wasn't clearly disclosed in advance. With so many other options nearby, I likely wouldn't return. read more

The basics: food: 2/5 service: 2/5 ambiance: 3.5/5 Details here: We were only there for around 30-40 minutes because the service was so quick. I did not prefer this because it was a late dinner and special date and I had the expectation of enjoying the space. From the outside, you can see the lights, the tvs, and a lot of conversation so it felt we could have time to eat and talk. We were dressed nicely (I was wearing a full length black dress) so we had the expectation that we would be sitting for a while, which was not the case. They sent out our starters and our meal around the same time (within 10 minutes since I took pictures of our short date night), which I don't like because of the temperatures of what we ordered were going to be off since some had to sit. The servers were different (about 2-3) and came the "most" during when we put the starters to the side (which I guess communicated we were done but again, sent out pretty much at the same time). The ambiance has the highest rating because it was loud and social and they stuck to the definition. The food was goodish at first but did not agree with me after. I ordered the Shrimp Pasta Blanco and the noodles were cold. I can only assume that the pasta was cooked before and they thought the sauce would get it to be the same temp, it wasn't and I didn't finish it for that reason. I took it to go to warm it up at my families house in Pasadena and the smell from the bag from the 15 minute drive...I threw it away. It smelled sick and it made me feel worse because I started asking, "Did I eat that?". Also ordered was the pork belly banh hi which my love liked, truffle mac n cheese, and the garlic fries. The garlic fries were bomb! I'm not shy with garlic and it was so flavorful. I liked the truffle mac n cheese as well and could taste the truffle, consistency was good too. My personal rating here is because of the rush of service which didn't help the contrasting temperature of the overall food (again noodles were cold to begin with in a warmed sauce). If I had lowered my experience to a "quick bite to eat", I may have felt differently but it was a date night. The ambiance is what drew us in but it didn't align on our night unfortunately. I offer anyone to give it a try because it could have just been my own one off experience there. read more

Faye is the worst server in this establishment. She never greeted us, I had to flag her down to give our order and she never checked in on us once except to ask of we're ready for the check. Cool place. Nice staff, good selections of ice cold beer on tap too. Fish Tacos were on point... tasted like I was back on the beaches in Baja (homemade tortillas, a rainbow of shredded cabbage (red, green, and carrot), featuring a hearty golden fried stick of white cod on each taco, topped with a creamy chipotle sauce. Bartenders helped with beer selection, highly recommend the Institution RX Pils (German style Pilsner). Nice decor. Music is a flashback of Beach Boys, Elvis, and upbeat rock and roll. Located in a safe, friendly neighborhood, accross the street from a beautiful park and Public Library. I'll be back... if you haven't already, give them a try, and I'm sure you'll feel the same way :) read more

I've come here twice. Each time the quality of everything is up to par. Very delicious drinks and very good food. Service is great but my order should come a little faster. Between three people our tab was 134$ Pretty pricy considering all we had was alcohol and an appetizer. Families were at the booths, parents with their teenagers after a baseball game. Singles at the bar watching football games. The room had good balance I would say. We came after a round of golf to watch the dodgers beat the Mets and we had a blast. I had a great time but overall pretty pricey. read more

The food is good. The place gets really busy around dinner time, almost any day of the week!

We happened to arrive on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner and were pleasantly surprised to discover we'd made it just in time for Happy Hour! Our culinary journey began with the Mini burger, which my son absolutely devoured. It was truly delicious and disappeared from his plate in record time. The wings we ordered packed a perfect kick that satisfied our craving for something with a bit of heat. The taco selection was impressive, and we sampled quite a variety: potato, sofritas, pork belly, and chicken. While each had its own unique appeal, the potato taco emerged as my personal favorite, with flavors that were both comforting and exciting. I ate the potato taco so fast I forgot to take a photo. I do wish they gave a side of salsa with each taco. Only one of them came with salsa. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the Black Angus Basin burger. I can confidently say it ranks among the best burgers I've ever tasted. The manchego cheese and caramelized onions created a flavor combination that was simply outstanding. We paired it with the parmesan fries, which proved to be a delicious accompaniment. For drinks, their beer selection offered plenty of options, and we settled on a refreshing Hazy IPA that complemented our meal perfectly. Beyond just the food, we loved the overall vibe of Basin Bar. The service stood out as particularly noteworthy - every server we encountered was attentive, friendly, and hospitable. Should we find ourselves in Monrovia again, there's no question that we'll be making a return visit to Basin Bar. It's a gem that delivers on both atmosphere and flavor. read more

Came here for happy hour and I'm so glad I did! They have a small dog friendly patio at the front of the restaurant and the servers were very kind! I ordered a few small bites as they were priced pretty affordably. I enjoyed the garlic Parmesan fries as they were super heavy on the garlic. The ktown wings were also good and had a spice that built up as you ate more. I loved my michelada too! Wasn't a huge fan of the shaved street corn, but would definitely come back to try more drinks/food! read more

We came here to get a light snack/meal and we were impressed. We got their Happy Hour: Garlic Parmesan Fries, K-Town Wings, Shaved Street Corn. The Parmesan fries were great as none of them tasted hard or too salty. The one that was interesting was the k-town wings! They weren't spicy but the taste was quite addicting. The spice does creep up on you as you eat more wings. The corn with the squeezed lime just tasted very smoky. The staff was very friendly and came to check up on us a good amount of times; we were sitting in their outdoor patio bc we had our dog. They even gave our dog a bowl of water so I'd say they're pretty dog friendly. This place is definitely one for the books and I'd come back again. read more

Fun spot with great happy hour, upbeat service, and sparse aesthetic. I'm not a fan of the open floor plan, but you can tell this place is great for groups. The place completely filled up by the time we left and the space rang out with lively conversation. I do like the hanging lights and the design of the bar. Go during happy hour and enjoy some great dishes and drinks for very agreeable prices. my mini-burger was flavorful and deceptively filling for the size, and the fries were scrumptious. Definitely wanted to lick that plate clean. My friend is more of a regular and he got two tacos and swears by them. Our server was friendly and patient when my friend kept getting distracted and couldn't make a food decision. Always approaching with a smile on his face, he seemed in good spirits and never made us feel rushed. He was attentive with drink refills and responsive to our questions. read more

My in-laws love going here and are the ones who introduced me to Basin so this is one of our go-to spots for dinner or happy hour if we want to meet up last minute. It's a fun little spot in downtown Monrovia that actually has a solid happy hour menu and some delish food items with a sporty/modern industrial ambiance. My in-laws always ask for the server Travis and anytime we've went while he was there - the experience is always a 100/10. We've only went a few times while he wasn't there and honestly it's only the best when he's there! The times he wasn't there, the service was incredibly slow even if it wasn't super busy. The first time I came here, I thought it would be overpriced mid food but to my surprise, they have some amazing delicious entrees and even items on their happy hour menu are better than I expected. My go to has been the Picken's Chicken sandwich which is a grilled chicken sandwich on grilled sourdough with a grilled Anaheim pepper, cheese, aioli, grilled onions, arugula, and comes with either fries or a house salad. I 10000000% recommend getting the salad! My husband loves the Black Angus Basin Burger as it's juicy, flavorful, and served on a perfect bun. My in-laws love getting the fish and chips from here! During happy hour, the mini basin burger w/ fries is a must but trust me when I say opt for sweet potato fries. They are some of the best sweet potato fries i've had and beats their normal fries! Another go-to is their onion rings - delish! Surprisingly, their happy hour tacos aren't bad at all.. As someone who's a connoisseur for authentic street tacos, they aren't authentic by any means but the shredded chicken taco and carnitas taco do pack a lot of flavor and are a good size. Overall, from the items i've tried, it's a solid spot for happy hour and dinner while meeting up with the in-laws but I'm definitely going to try different items next time I go! read more

I had a great time eating at Basin 141! The service is extremely quick and friendly- definitely better than Sena across the street... For context, I tried getting a table at Sena and none of the staff acknowledged me or tried to assist with seating a potential customer. Because of that, I walked across the street to Basin 141 and I am so glad I did! The food and drinks are delicious. The highlights for me were the fries, carnitas taco, and the Moscow mule- everything tasted fresh and well made. My only small complaint would be the pork belly taco. The meat on that taco was very stiff and a bit hard to eat. All in all, if you are contemplating where to eat in Old Town Monrovia, I highly recommend Basin 141.
