First time trying it out, and I will admit that it was a very good sandwich. But daaaaaaammmnnnn, this place is expensive. Sandwiches are running between $18 to $20, but is pretty outrageous. The quality is there, but I still think that this is highway robbery. It's a very simple store with a couple tables inside. Yet, they are charging fine dining prices for a cold cut sandwich. There was a man working the register and a woman making the sandwiches when I went. Service was fine, but there were not really any suggestions offered. They just take your order and make your sandwich. I went right at lunch time during the week, and I was the only person there. It's unfortunately that California makes running a business so expensive, that food prices have gone through he roof. Maybe time for a new governor? read more

We went to one of our favs, Claro's, today and learned thru were closed on Wednesday so we found MyDeli on Yelp and gscenit a try. We ordered two sandwiches and were very pleased. There were several ingredient options including Boar's Head cold cuts, real roast turkey, a large variety of veggies, and great bread choices. (The French role was unique and excellent and it's nice to find squaw bread. Everything was super fresh and so delicious. My Deli has great sandwiches! They're a little pricey, but two people could easily share one wrap or other sandwich, especially if you grabbed a bag of chips too. The store could've been cleaner. Something (the A/C?) was dripping onto the counter, and the bathroom was out of order. But the staff were great and I wasn't worried about the food quality at all. I should have read the reviews on the salads. I got the Asian chicken salad because I love wonton strips and sesame seeds and green onions and cilantro you know that's what makes that salad but what I got was a big box of iceberg blend lettuce with a sprinkle of shredded chicken in the corner and a mound of wonton strips nothing else. I went back because I was really upset and looking forward to it you know instead of paying $20 for a small box of salad I can get at the store for you know five bucks. I told her what was missing She said oh let me put what's supposed to be on there on there and when I get back to my car there is still no green onion sesame seeds and there was like one piece of cilantro that got thrown in there and some extra chicken so I went back in and I asked if they were out of the ingredients and they said we don't have green onions so we put red onion in there and there's some sesame seeds in the dressing. I came here yesterday as I was at a training in the neighborhood with the intent to take it back and eat it there, so I ordered it to go. I ordered an Old Town turkey on rosemary bread. It took 25 minutes for me to get my sandwich and when I got back to my training site I opened my sandwich to find a roast beef on marble bread. I had no choice, but to eat it as I was starving and only had 10 minutes left to eat. I'm very disappointed in this place. There is no reason it takes 25 minutes to make a sandwich, you charge me $9 for a sandwich and I don't even get what I ordered. The one-star rating is just for the service I received today. About 3 weeks ago, I ordered 3 sandwiches, 1 of which a customized sandwich. The wait was super long but I didn't complain. Didn't check the order before leaving and when I got to the beach an hour later, was when I discovered that the customized sandwich was NOT our customized sandwich. Even the description on the wrapper didn't match what was in it. I called, of course, because it was $18 and it couldn't be eaten because it contained ingredients that we don't eat. The woman I spoke with on the phone said I can bring it back. I said I couldn't because I was an hour away. I wasn't upset, I wasn't rude; I was disappointed. And I expressed my disappointment. Finally, she offered to put my name next to their register so that I can return and get another sandwich. I was okay with that. Now, fast forward 3 weeks, I called for the sandwich. After explaining to the guy who answered the phone what happened and the solution I was offered, the guy said "we'll do this for you this time. But next time you need to bring the sandwich back so we can see what we did." I explained to him again that the woman said...and before I can even finish, he said "like I said, we'll do this for you this time but next time you need to bring the sandwich back." That is just ridiculous, in my opinion, asking customers to bring back the wrong food so they can see "what they did wrong". First of all, the solution was something that one of their employees offered. Second, asking customers to go back? That's wasting my time and money. Third, asking customers to bring food back so they can see what they did wrong? Why does that matter? If I tell you it's not the sandwich I asked for, it's not. Just make it right. ***Just returned from picking up my sandwich.*** I thought the man I spoke with on the phone didn't know about the mishap 3 weeks ago. Turned out, it's the same man who worked that day and who took my phone call about 70 minutes later. I walked up and in no way was I combative. On the contrary, in fact. Since I recognized the man and since I THOUGHT I was on the phone with another man, I asked him, "were you the person I spoke with on the phone?" He said yes, and said, "here's your sandwich. I don't have time to argue with you." Surprised by his demeanor and behavior, I said, "I'm not arguing with you. YOU are arguing with me." I then checked my sandwich because 1. I want to make sure it's right this time and 2. I had a feeling that he would make the sandwich incorrectly just to be a d*ck and to f*ck with me. But it's a melt, so I couldn't really tell. So I just asked him instead, "no pickles and no mustard, right?" At first he said "I don't know." I said, "I asked for no pickles and no mustard." He looked at my sandwich and said "there's no mustard in there but there are pickles, you can just pick them out." "But I asked for no pickles." "You can just pick them out."
