Biscuit and gravy that came with our breakfast
    Ann C.

I lived in Arcadia for 30 plus years and I've always driven by Chef's tell myself that I need to try so today was the day that we came to this charming old school diner. There was a coupon in the Arcadia Quarterly so we decided to give it a try. I ordered the Hobo Omelette with bell peppers and my boyfriend got their Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. Each plate came with Biscuit and gravy. There was so much crazy. I thought it was soup at first. The food was lightly salted, which is perfect because then we can control how much salt we put in the food. Everything was really good and their service was awesome. They kept the coffee and the tea is coming. If you're looking for an old diner field with good food, give Chef's a try.

Not a dull moment with Michelle. She is beyond amazing! Our food always comes out hot and fresh. My boyfriend and I always come in with a smile and leave with a smile! Definitely worth going back for sure thanks you Chef staff and thank you Michelle!!!

First time visiting shift, coffee shop. Went for breakfast before soccer practice and had great service. Staff was friendly gave us a lot of information about the various special. We wanted to try all the basics. So we ordered two budget friendly specials, number one and number two. The portion size for a budget meal was good. We enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back. I love the feeling of seeing retirees enjoying the café/coffee shop dining experience. It was good to see them all laughing and chatting with their friends and family.Food came out faster than I expected. I appreciated the various creamer flavors they had. I have not seen Irish cream and caramel macchiato creamers in a very long time. We will definitely be coming back again to try their lunch menu.

    Steak and eggs

One of my favorite comfort meals on a cold and rainy day is steak and eggs. And one of the best place to fulfill this craving is always Chef's. The steak is juicy and tender paired with O'Briens, eggs, and toast is definitely the chef's kiss. Portions are huge and prices are affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back!

The food was pretty ok, I really liked the French toast but probably won't get the omelette again. The service was alright also, a lot of younger people, they didn't come to refill our coffee or water at all and it wasn't busy but oh well. But over all it was an ok experience, I think it gets a little busier on the weekends as well

If you're looking for an old school diner feel breakfast then this place is great! It's got such an authentic old timer feel. There's plenty of parking in the back. Wait times vary but whenever we have gone and needed to wait for seating it didn't take longer than 5-10 minutes. Their table turnover times are very quick. I usually get some kind of omelet here and they are all very good. This time around I got a Texas omelet which comes with peppers, onions, and chili on top. My fiancé got the Denver Omelet which has a lot of veggies. Tip: get the salsa on the side. It goes great with that dish. The biscuits and gravy are super yummy too. I would just recommend salting the gravy. Service if very friendly and quick!

Perfect little diner. Lovely staff. This was exactly what I wanted for breakfast, and they delivered.

Yelp says you're open until 9 p.m. Google says you close at 2 p.m. Which is it? If you're open for dinner, I'll start coming in again.

We stop our inside seating at 1:30PM and close at 2PM. We still serve our dinner menu from 11AM- 2PM. Hope we see you soon.

    Is parking ok?

Yes, there is usually plenty of parking. It is located behind the restaurant.

Service is excellent. They have plenty of employees on staff to help with everything you need. We came on a Saturday morning, which is a busy time, but was able to get seated and served quickly. In the way of ambience, they have a lot of license plates, freeway type signs and other signage throughout the facility. It is very neat and clean and the decor is actually very nice.! I am not usually the biggest fan of bbq(a lot of bbq sauces aren't it for me)... but I LOVE Jake's, the secret is in the sauce!! It's sweet and tangy in the perfect way and ends up with a smoky flavor from when they cook it as well. I looooove the huge beef ribs here, and the chicken is pretty good too. I've also tried the baby back ribs, which my family loves but I'm more of a beef kinda gal. Haven't tried much else on the menu because I just love the beef ribs so much tbh. The fries and salad are good, some other sides kinda feel like an afterthought, but the sides aren't the highlight here. I like the "roadside" nostalgic vibe inside, and the staff are nice. Some of the staff have been there for a long time and know a lot of the customers. Overall, this is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood, and when Monrovia comes up in conversation, I always mention Jake's :)

It's located inside a busy shopping plaza so parking can be difficult, especially on the weekends. It's open daily 7am-7pm Service was average since this is one of those " pay at the counter for the food and take a seat" kind of place. However, it would have been nice if the cashier told us to grab our soy milk from the fridge or at least handed it to us after we ordered it. We were waiting 15+ minutes for the items only to go up to the counter and realize that we were supposed to get it ourselves but we're never told to do so. It's quite small inside but there is a decent amount of seating Pricing is resonable and nearly everything is under $15! The Curry Pastry ($2.60) was pretty good. It would've been better if it was more crispy but the filling was very delicious and had plenty of curry and beef! The Sweet Soybean Pudding ($4.50 - large) was delicious! Be sure to let them know to put the syrup on the side otherwise they combine it for you! The tofu was very soft, silky, and fresh. I was very relieved that the syrup wasn't too sweet since they combined it inside. The Soymilk ($4.25 - large) was very sweet and didn't have much of a soybean taste. It would have been better if it wasn't so sweet so I could taste more of the soybean. NOTE: they offer salty soymilk and soybean pudding but it's +$0.25 more than the sweet Soymilk and soybean pudding! The Peanut Milk ($4.25) was pretty good. It was very creamy and nutty! If you like peanut butter, then this is a must! It wasn't too sweet and it was very refreshing. Overall, I liked the soybean pudding more than the Soymilk and the prices were reasonable so I most likely will recommend and return!
