Cafe De Olla Bakery a block away from my house? You've got to be kidding me! Absolutely can't believe that my waistline is going to increase now that it'll be so convenient for me to go grab a slice of their delicious Matilda Chocolate Cake. SCORE! This location is more of a "grab and go" type of place for coffee and pastries. It is unlike their Monrovia location where it is a sit-down establishment with a full food and beverage menu, so do expect cozy and cute, not a dine-in place to bring your date. I did felt a tad awkward when I walked in at first because the gentleman behind the counter probably thought I was weird in there snapping photos, so he did looked at me kind of funny. But after letting him know I was there for the first time since finding out on Yelp of this second location, he made small talk and was super friendly. I highly recommend stopping by Cafe de Olla when you're nearby!

From my experience if your looking for a place to grab a piece of cake or a whole one this could be the spot. Don't forget the case of pan dulce they have. I picked up a Banana nut muffin. Nice and moist muffin, very good. The cafe de olla was piping hot. So watch out. Looks like they also do breakfast burritos and sandwiches. Service was great everyone was very helpful. Small little spot for take out. Plenty of parking. Don't get confused and think this is the one in old town Monrovia because this just a bakery.

Nice and clean bakery and drinks. Such a cute style to display pastries. If you just want a slice of any of these cakes they also have that available. Next time I will come for a drink!

Came here cuz I wanted a latte and realized it is the same company that's on Myrtle in Monrovia.... I ended up buying a bunch of pastries for my coworkers....and they all loved it.... Awesome place to go....I noticed they have some meal items like breakfast burritos may have to come back for! The employees were awesome and friendly..... Definitely would come back!!!!

I found this place randomly and, since I love café de olla, I had to try it. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best. The coffee was very sweet and had an aftertaste. The place itself is nice and colorful, and they have sweet bread and cookies. The service was good. I was hoping to find a new favorite spot for café de olla, but this wasn't it. I couldn't even finish it.

Where do I begin !?!? Cafe de olla exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and our waiter hector was very hospitable. The ambiance easily takes me back to a family owned Mexico City restaurant. The pan dulce is made in house which is good so you know they don't put out bread from the day before. You can see that this place is ran very well and professional. I got a cafe de olla (no pun intended) and it was one of the best cafe de olla's I've ever had, if not the best. It was sweet and you were able to taste the cinnamon. The Sinaloa combination really surprised me. In my house hold we fry the tamale and not a lot of people do that. So when I saw my plate with 2 fried tamales, I had a huge smile on my face. Very nostalgic feeling. The beans were ok, but nothing bad. Tasted like typical refried beans. The chilaquiles were the star of the plate. The salsa verde had lots of flavor and tasted like chilaquiles from Mexico. A little kick of lime, which comes from the tomatoes. Will order again when I come back. My friend got the waffle, which she almost finished, even though she said she was going to take half of it home. I think that goes to show you how good the waffle was ! Overall experience was 9.3/10. Only complaint is that I wish my food was a little bit more on the hotter side. It was warm and i personally like my food hot. Will be back again Thank you so much cafe de olla! ¡Volveré y con más hambre aun!

You order then grab and go out the door and I'm sure if you enjoy this type of coffee you'll be back for more. But first a quick fuuun fact alert! Did you know that this drink dates back to the Mexican revolution in 1910? Well I did not know that so this fact is for me too. Ok so if you're not familiar with this tasty drink, it's made by brewing cinnamon and piloncillo in a clay pot giving it its unique earthy flavor. So if that reads like your jam then get sum man! I ordered an iced Cafe De Olla to go and after my first sip I wasn't disappointed. After all it is their specialty right! They have pastries to go with your coffee so that's a score and makes for a tasty twosome. The service was ok and I'm not going to say it but I just have to. When you have a certain age group running things it loses that welcome factor to put it nicely. Then again I'm there for the coffee and it's to go stuff other than that it's a cool little bakery that has you on your way on the fly. Parking can be challenging on certain times but that's almost always the case. That's my take, Peace

    iced cafe de olla $5.95

Good spot to scratch the brunch craving. This place gets packed, so try to get on the Yelp waitlist to minimize the wait time. We decided to get our usual breakfast favorite, waffles and French toast, with some coffee. We got an iced cafe de olla ($5.95), churro waffle ($13.95), berry crispy French toast ($17.75), and a hot cafe de olla ($4.95). It was disappointing to discover that the regular hot cafe de olla comes with refills, but the iced cafe de olla does not, especially with the iced version costing a dollar more. The cafe de olla tastes great so get the hot version for the unlimited refills. Both sweet dishes were yummy, and it worked out that we ordered the more expensive French toast plate because that also came with two eggs, two slices of your choice of meat (bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, or ham), and your choice of hash browns, home fries, or fruit. Having something savory with our order helped balance all the sugary stuff we were consuming. Parking in Old Town Monrovia is pretty easy. Look for street parking or any spot in the nearby parking lots.

Really cute bakery with lots of bread and cake options. The space is super clean and nice inside. The worker was really kind and offered us Café de Olla to try. I'd love to come back in the morning next time to try the bread fresh and warm.

Holy Smokes..... Wifey and I have been here 3 times in two weekends and this what we have tried. Iced Cafe de Olla- 5 Stars Hot Cafe de Olla- 5 Stars Cafe de Olla Late- 5 Stars Matilda Cake- 5 Stars Coconut Muffin- 5 Stars Cinnamon Apple Cheese Cake- 3 Stars Duabi Cheese Cake- 3 Stars Concha- 5 Stars Random Pateries- 5 Stars The service was excellent the girls working behind the counter were very nice and super helpful. Cleanliness exactly what you want especially when your buying food!!! Now the Cafe de Olla is definitely worth the visit hot or cold it deserves a stop. The muffins pastries and cakes are a safe bet, but for now I will steer clear of the Cheesecakes. They do have many assortment of Flan so maybe next time we will try the Choco and Cafe de Olla.

Standard quality pan dulce/Conchas, on the more expensive side. Lots of other different Mexican pastries and types of pan dulce.

I've tried a few of their mousse cakes and Portuguese tarts, and everything has been delicious. Those adorable fluffy animal cakes might look too cute to eat, but trust me, they're totally crave-worthy! As someone who loves anything chocolate or mango, I know I'll be coming back often. A fun treat to try: freeze-dried mousse cake bites. They'd make an awesome ice cream topping! Highly recommend stopping by if you have a sweet tooth.

Its a small shop on Main in Alhambra and there's a lot in the back as well as street parking. It's a brightly lit, pick up and go type place though there are a couple tables out front. The baked goods look really cute and enticing and I ended up going for a mystery box since I wasn't after a specific cake and the mystery aspect seemed appealing. I also got 6 egg tarts, which were a great price at $1 each. The baked goods/sweets looked better than they tasted flr me. The egg tarts had a texture that was a bit off putting for myself, it was more of a steamed egg texture than a silky custardy filling. Flavorwise, they were ok though. The mystery box was fun and I got an apple cake, peach cake, and a panda cake. Now the mystery box is day old cakes so keeping that in mind, they are like cream based "cakes" and are essentially cream covered gels/jellies of some sort. The flavor and textures were good, very light cream with strong fruit flavors (the panda was also a peach flavor, I think). As a set of the mystery box price, I think the cakes are fun to try but I wouldn't, personally, pay those prices for essentially shaped cream. I'm glad I tried a new spot but ultimately don't think it was super impressive and found most of their desserts and baked items to be average, or a little less so as for the egg tarts.

They had a selection of cookies and freshly baked loaves, including banana bread, blueberry cornbread and carrot cake, all of which looked incredibly appetizing. The matcha cinnamon roll had a great balance of cinnamon and matcha that worked surprisingly well together. It's one of those pastries that's worth making a trip to Pasadena for. I will definitely be back and I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the pastry case.

I agree with another reviewer upon first glance, it would probably be faster to have an employee dedicated to a customer as they make their selection, but I think the space and single register are limiting factors. Got the s'mores brownie ($7) and peach cinnamon roll ($11). Peach cinny didn't have a price tag in the case, but yeesh for $11 it better change my life! The roll was warm, and slathered in icing and had a generous amount of peaches. It tasted a little overproofed, but was still very pillow and soft. It did not change my life, was good but $11 (from the base price of ~$8) felt steep. S'mores brownie was good, very big slab of brownie topped with half an inch of torched marshmallow. If you can, I'd recommend heating this up in a toaster. It's a moist, and dense brownie, bits of chocolate chips throughout. The marshmallow is definitely a liability, sticking to anything it comes in contact with! Two couches, couple indoor and couple outdoor tables. Not a conducive space to stay a while in, especially since it's usually packed with customers. I saw the owner (Ashley aka @sobadash_) in the back with her employees, which is mad respect for her! I've followed her on TikTok for a few years, through her private chefing, bakery opening and on. Overall, the pricing reflects her brand and I respect it.
