Unfortunately, my friend and I had an unpleasant experience at this coffee shop. We ordered an iced matcha latte and an iced turmeric latte. When I asked if it was possible to make the matcha half sweet, it felt like my request was strange. That didn't bother me at first until we received our order. We sat down and she brought our drinks over to us. My friend's drink was served in a white coffee cup, while mine came in a clear plastic cup. At first glance, it looked like mine was iced and hers was hot even though we both ordered iced. Naturally, my friend said "Oh I ordered iced". She responded with "it is iced" and walked away. The whole interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. It made us want to leave and drink our drinks elsewhere. On top of that, the drinks themselves tasted like mostly milk with just a hint of matcha, and mostly milk with a hint of turmeric. The cashier was super friendly and provided great customer service. I was in town and searched for substitutions for Goldstein's that closed down last year. This was one of the suggestions. I ordered a plain bagel lightly toasted with cream cheese ($4.50), then realized they had viet coffee, which is my fav, so I ordered a regular sized one ($7). The bagel was soft and fresh, but a little on the drier side, and the cream cheese comes on the side which is nice to be able to put the amount I wanted myself. The viet coffee came in a 16 oz cup and was pretty much filled to the brim with ice, so there's very little coffee for the $7 price tag (I don't mind the price, just wished their was more drink instead of mostly ice). The flavor is really good at least. Overall this is a cute small business to support. Will def come back to try other items in the future. read more

This is a locally owned coffee shop that has been here for years in downtown Arcadia. The inside is homey and unpretentious. Their coffee is really good. I have had their iced lattes, chaggachino, and today iced Vietnamese coffee. They make their Vietnamese coffee fresh on the spot, it's not pre-made. They also serve pastries made by Homeboy industries. I got a cranberry scone today and it was delicious. There is an outdoor patio in addition to inside seating. This place is such a hidden treasure! The staff were so warm and friendly. The shop is very cozy. This is my first time there, but you can definitely tell they have regulars that come in and enjoy the space. This was a perfect place to come on a sunny cool day. I got the Snickers latte and it was amazing! My friend and I shared the breakfast burrito and that was really good too. I was in the area to check out a fitness studio and Hyper Coffee was down the street. Figured this is perfect for a quick lunch. Plus their coffee/latte + food menu looked pretty promising. Small shop but there are a few indoor and outdoor seating. And there's a nice patio area in the back. Ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte w/almond milk plus an avocado toast. So I see it cost $6.50 for a pumpkin spice latte on their menu board, but yet I was charged $6.75? I know it's only a 25 cent difference, yes, it may not be much. But it's the principal and this looks like unethical behavior for running their business like this. Also, an additional $1.25 because I wanted almond milk?!? Talk about price gouging at its finest. Most coffee shops don't even charge that much for milk alternatives! Ridiculous. The avocado toast was the most basic thing I've ever seen when it comes to how avocado toasts are made. Just avocado sliced on top, some scrambled eggs and a few whole tomatoes. (See photo attached). Another disappointing item. It cost $10 for this...should've been like $6 instead. Came here a couple months ago. The chaga match was good with a unique flavor from the mushroom, but it's too sweet without any adjustments. They could adjust it, but they said it would affect the flavor a bit. I also tried the croissant breakfast sandwich with eggs and cheese. That was really good and the portion is bigger than I thought. The inside is not very big, but there are at least 4-5 tables available if I remember correctly. It's a cute and cozy cafe that students frequent while they're in school, and community members swing by on a lazy Saturday morning for a quick bite and chat. If you're vegetarian like me, there's several vegetarian options: bagels/croissants or paninis for something savory, and many different type of pastries if you're looking for something sweet. Their food is decent but not blow your socks off amazing. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk today (+$1) and was surprised by the presence of diary in my drink. Since I ordered to go, I was unable to have them remake my drink for me. A small mistake in service, but in an era where food allergies & dietary restrictions are so rampant, and had I been vegan, this really would not fly. I probably wouldn't intentionally come back for the food or drinks, but if there were no other options, I wouldn't mind swinging by and supporting a local small business! If you're looking to study there's some seating inside and some outside, with minimal outlets and WiFi that isn't always the most stable. Also seating indoor and outdoor. The service was friendly, and they offer a variety of delicious breakfast sandwiches and lunch options. I tried their Nuttin Honey iced coffee and the Lox bagel. Hyper Coffee is a quaint, homey, coffee shop. This coffee shop has been here for as long as I can remember. Their Deli Bagel is my go-to food item here. It's affordable and well-balanced. Personally, for me, it keeps me full for a while. Service has always been good for me and the cashier/baristas are welcoming. I appreciate that they take your drinks to you. You will probably have to ask, some staff don't know they have it. Quiet neighborhood. Maybe a little too quiet to chit chat loudly and comfortably. Visited for breakfast during a very lively Lunar New Year Festival and had a lovely experience! The food was great, coffee delicious, and service excellent. Location is very convenient in the heart of downtown Arcadia and prices are on par with what you'd expect in this region nowadays. Firstly, awesome YES member John T treated me and hubby to a delicious cup of their drip coffee so huge shout out and thank you to John!! The coffee was smooth and flavorful - very nice blend. For breakfast we grabbed a ham/egg/cheese croissant and an avocado toast to go and loved them both! Their croissants are buttery and light - great flavor and texture and not greasy at all. The avocado toast is delightful!! Lots of flavorful seasoning and portions are large. Totally fueled us up for our busy day. All the staff were very helpful, cheery and friendly - great service on our visit - and they have quite a large menu that includes breakfast and lunch items - not to mention a plethora of available sweet baked goods and treats to choose from - something for everyone. They also have a little selection of house plants for sale. Service: 5 stars - They are friendly and very helpful. A few weeks ago I came in and my dog was a little overheated. They gave him ice water in a dog bowl. They always bring my coffee and drink out to the patio. And they come back to check on me. Today, it was earlier in the morning but they made me a panini anyway even though they don't really serve paninis until 12pm. Chagaccino - I've always been curious about mushroom coffee I'm glad they have it here for me to try. Mushroom flavored coffee actually works. The coffee was smooth and flavored. The mushroom flavor blended well with all the ingredients in this drink. I added coffee to my drink. I would order this drink again. Croissant - They served it toasted and I was craving for a freshly baked croissant for my review. Since it was toasted, it's just like a croissant from anywhere else. Turkey club panini - This panini was tasty. I wasn't a fan of the type of bread that was used for this panini. You get to choose between a side of chips or mixed green salad. I liked the salad dressing. The taste was more consistent with a creamy Italian dressing. read more

I usually try and not give bad reviews to mom and pop shops... buttttt when it send the owners are uninterested in catering to their clientele then it needs to be said. First thing that struck me was how the lady behind the counter was just not happy I was not prepared to order. Checking out the menu, it seems this place lacks any inspiration anyways and was trying to see if I could find something I can force myself to order. I decided the peanut butter and jelly bagel would suffice since I figured it would be hard to mess up. Welp, I was wrong... completely disappointed. I kid you not, there's more jelly in those smuckers mini packets than what was put on this bagel. Peanut butter almost as sparse as well. Luckily my coat in was less than $5 but seriously, I literally ate what felt like a plain bagel. It is a very cute coffee shop and room to study or get some work done. It is a lovely place and can see how I can enjoy a few hours here. I got an iced Vietnamese coffee here. I think cause I am used to the tradition Vietnamese coffee from my local pho place, the coffee here was a tad weak in comparison. Additionally, to lacking the traditional strong, rich, bold, and complex, with flavor notes of chocolatey and nutty. The condensed milk also lacked the milky almost carmel like flavor. It was just on the sweeter side and lacked all the signature taste of a Vietnamese coffee. Overall, I would give the drink a 3.5/10. But I think it was the just the wrong coffee choice for me. Im pretty sad, because I came here when it was the younger guy and girl making the coffee, and it's always been great service and delicious. Today, when I came it, it must've been the other. She was asian with glasses, and older. She wasn't friendly at all, which is fine. I've gone to good coffee shops where they're not friendly but the coffee is quality, so I can let it go. But when she gave me my latte, it was lukewarm. I told her right away, and she said she can warm it. I asked her how. And she simply stuck my coffee that I drank back under the espresso steamer stick. Two things here, the latte is no longer espresso poured in by milk, and as a coffee drinker you'd know there's a difference. Second, it is completely unsanitary. It sure doesn't affect me, but it affects customers who came after me. I'll make sure to not come back here any time soon. read more

The food and coffee are only okay, but I do love the ambiance, one of my favorite spot for some quiet time when I want to change the scenery away from home (I work from home). The service is okay but it doesn't make much of a difference since I mostly enjoy the quiet and peace ambiance.
