We visited on a Friday evening and it was packed!! The line was pretty long and it was moving slower than usual for a CAVA. I think it was a 20-25 min to get to the front to order our bowls. They seemed to have run a couple of things, such as the chicken and their hummus (I wanted both!). The workers seemed a bit stressed that it was also busy and the assembly line was getting a bit chaotic. The cashier was friendly though! After we got our bowls, I appreciated that the last girl was pretty heavy handed with the toppings so it was quite loaded. This time I tried all the ingredients they had to offer. Ingredients were pretty fresh, the chicken however tasted like it was rush. I wish they had the hummus cause the red pepper hummus didn't taste as hummus-y. I wasn't really a fan of the harissa and the feta, so I will know for next time. Otherwise, the bowl itself was still pretty good. read more

I love the concept of build your own, generous portion and selection of sauces, proteins, toppings, greens, and grains. The food is flavorful and fresh. Their diet Mexican cola was so good, no aftertaste or fake sugar taste. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunny and cool evening. The fried pitas were the best, perfectly seasoned and crispy. Came to a soft opening for cava today through event brite. All the staff new and seasoned were polite and conversational to keep time going and not seemed like we were there for about an hr to order. Line moved fast once inside. Chose braised lamb because some of the options had ran out when we arrived at our time to order. But they were refilled quickly so timing for that was good. First time in a Cava. Was bright and clean nice lighting and ambiance. Was a flavorful bowl. Added roasted corn, spicy broccoli, and chose harissa sauce and a SKHUG sauce so cilantro and spices.I chose mixed greens and brown rice for my base and came with a warmed pita slice. They have very different drinks but I chose to do half blueberry lavender with some lemonade and a splash of their blueberry soda. Not overpowering at all and tasted good to me. read more

This is definitely a busy place. They're still working out the kinks behind the counter where you're all the employees are putting items on. Your bowl is dirty. There's sauces mixed with end with each each other. Your bowl if you don't pay attention, may go to the next person, one in front of you were behind. And don't get me started that this is the bowl how you like it they insist on doing what they wanted to manager, said I could not put lettuce on the side it had to be on the top. Thank goodness at least the ingredients of the bowl is the same as always. I will not be coming back to this location. I will drive to the one in Azusa off of Alosta. At least tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's not worth an aggravation. read more

This is my 1st time trying CAVA. My son has mentioned it to me as he has one near him down south. Pasadena just a little out-of-the-way for my convenience. So when I saw this was coming in, I was excited and couldn't wait. I actually didn't go the very first week or so after it opened because the lines were out the door. I was running some errands today and stopped in around 11 and it was perfect. One person ahead of me. Indra, who was the initial server was really sweet. I told her it was my first time and I wasn't sure what to do so she helped me a little. I ended up getting the chicken and grain bowl which apparently they don't have anymore as it's seasonal. I got it with Romain because I don't like arugula. It came with the brown rice, which was fine. It's actually very good. And then I added some great toppings, the olives, feta cheese, pickled onions, tomato, and onion mixture and cucumbers. I opted for the hummus and tzatziki scoops. I got the Greek vinaigrette and garlic (something) dressings. Also got a crazy feta scoop. The cashier today was Peyton and she was so nice. It was a very good size bowl, a lot of food and absolutely delicious. I forgot to grab the sour cream and onion sumac chips, which I wanted for the crazy feta. But I dipped my free pita piece in the crazy feta and oh my gosh, I was blown away by the flavor. I took my order to go, but because it was early there was plenty of seats/tables. I will definitely be back. And will of course go when it's not busy because this was perfect. I paid $14 for the bowl- a little pricey but justified by the amount of food in the bowl. My first time visiting a CAVA. This location is fairly new. Clean but small inside. There was a line so it made the dining room tight. I asked for a "Make Your Own" bowl.You can have all grains, all greens or half grains-half greens. I asked if the basmati rice contained saffrons because it is advertised as basmati saffron rice but I didn't see any saffron. The server said we offer white or brown rice or lentils. So I selected the "white" rice. Next I asked for super greens but she served the power greens. Next you can pick up to three dips so I got humus, tzatziki and feta.Next you select your choice of protein. I selected chicken but had to wait since they were out. The customers in front were also waiting. In the meantime, I asked if you can get half/half like chicken and beef. They said yes so I asked for half half. Next you have a large selection of toppings and finally your dressing choice. They give you a free quarter slice of pita. I went to check out and to my surprise, charged $3.85 extra. I was told it was for the half order of steak. She said they should have told you but may have forgotten. I asked is it $3.85 for either a half order or full order? Both cost the same? She said no a full order is more. WRONG! Same price for beef half or full order. This place definitely needs to train their employees. Too many mistakes. I wasn't impressed. They opened three weeks or a month ago. Maybe wait six months and try again. read more

My partner and I ordered an online order for pickup. Understandably they were busy with it being a new location, so my partner and I had no problem waiting. However, they got our order completely wrong. I ordered double chicken and got a single serving, no hummus though I ordered extra, white rice instead of brown, and gave my partner steak instead of chicken. They gave arugula for our base too though we order something different. I understand mistakes happen, but this is too much. We also paid extra for double chicken, and simply did not get what we paid for. As a new store I hope they continue learning and improving, but they lost a customer in me. read more

Finally a CAVA in Monrovia. First thing when opening the door, is a greet from staff. A reminder and being mindful, this NEW location just opened less than few days ago and lines is very much there. I waited about 15-20min as staff are multitasking with in-person and mobile orders. The place is bright and inviting to sit and enjoy your meal of choice. Different options to build your own bowl or chef curated selected bowls on menu. Refreshing drinks and fountains drinks are available. Easy to navigate as visual selections are on glass and on screen. Staff is great on suggesting selection on their personal choices, if asked. I picked up my order and when I got back I saw they were missing 3 of my toppings and the meat portion was smaller than what I normally get. We came in at 10:01, they said "welcome", we got to the counter and the the same guy (Angel), said in a strict voice "sorry we're actually closed" and refused to serve us and showed us to the door. This new Cava location has reinvigorated our love for this fast healthy food option. We had some not great experiences at other locations but this one has exceptional service, is clean, the food is always fresh and good and the team has got to be some of the friendliest team members I have met putting the customer first even when the lines are long. Most notably the manager Danny and the team members Chenee and Kisanet always have a smile, explain everything and are just wonderful all around customer service focused team members. I never mind standing in a line when the team members make us feel like friends! Great job team! read more

I was so excited to hear Cava was opening in Monrovia so I tried it recently. I got a greens + grains bowl and the sumac cava chips. The bowl itself was good, it was fresh. However, the chips definitely could've been better. It was very inconsistent. Some of the chips were more burnt, and also tasted burnt. The other ones were soft, and not crunchy like it usually is. This review was based on my experience with this particular location. I ordered online and my pickup time was 7:15 pm, so I went a bit past that time so I didn't have to wait too long. I went in the store and saw that it was packed, and there was a wait at the online pick up area, around 6 people waiting. I had to wait a while for my food, past my pickup time which was more than 20 minutes. Had I known, I definitely would have placed my order way earlier. The original wait time for my pickup was 15-20 minutes. So according to that time, I made sure that I didn't come earlier. I wish that the company improves their system where they are able to increase the wait time according to how busy they currently are. They had also run out of lids midway through, and were taping parchment paper to wrap the bowl as the "lid" which was inconvenient as I usually can't finish the entire bowl in one sitting. I feel like by doing this, it would be easier for both the customers and workers. I know that this doesn't apply just for this location, but it's still prevalent that this location is working things out, nonetheless. Hopefully, they work out the negatives soon! read more
