Wife and I enjoyed our visit to this location of Cafe X20. We normally go to the La Verne location but found ourselves in the area so we wanted to eat here. The location has a much different set up as the parking lot circles around the business. The lot is small so street parking is another option. They offer daily Happy Hour menus as well. The location is open air with the windows as Hookah is available. The staff allowed us to sit where we pleased as it wasn't full upon arrival. The energy was vibrant and lively with music playing and the TVs showing the NBA game. Cafe X20 had a some new menu options that I decided to try one. My wife and I usually love the White Fish plate so she ordered it. I went with the Char-Grilled Chicken Thighs with grilled veggies and spicy hummus. Our orders came out in adequate time. And they give a bag of pita bread. These dishes looked so appetizing you can't wait to dig in! The chicken thighs were grilled tremendously and the char added a new wave of flavors. A nice addition to the menu. Both dishes would be reliable options. The plates look colorful and are filling. Your tummy will be happy! Super disappointed. We ended up getting a plate combo, chicken skewer with an added beef skewer, it came with rice, hummus, salad and grilled veggies. The chicken was extremely overcooked. Super dry. As if it had been sitting on the grill all day. The beef skewer had a weird taste, almost like the protein itself had gone bad...like it was sour, very off putting but somehow it got cooked anyways. The zucchini was raw yet charred (too high temp, not enough steam to soften it) the Greek salad had no feta or olives, pita bread store bought not toasted or warmed though looked like it even came in the store bought bag. Hummus tasted fine. This was a to go order maybe dining in is better I don't know but unfortunately I don't think we will try it again. We just moved here and exploring the neighborhood for something to eat and stumbled on the gem of a restaurant. Best Mediterranean food we've had in a long time! Got the family kebab and shawarma platter with beef and chicken. All the meats were incredible and very well seasoned and juicy. The rice is insanely delicious and buttery! I had a midweek lunch here with some friends. Since one of my friends is Lebanese and suggested this place, I was pretty confident it was going to be good, and it was! The last time I was at this location years ago, it was a different Mediterranean restaurant, but it seems that Cafe X2O has opened several locations throughout the San Gabriel Valley along the Foothill cities and took over this location as well. There was one in Glendora closer to me, but apparently that location closed down. The parking is pretty easy if it's not too busy. One way in and loop around the restaurant to get out. The seating area feels like you are in an outdoor patio, but it's enclosed so you are protected from the elements. It was Wednesday and we saw that they had Wine Wednesdays with bottles at 50% off. There were also hookah pipes so our group decided to indulge in both! We shared a Cold Meze Sampler and Hot Meze Sampler and it was all great. For lunch I ordered the chicken kebab lunch special. The chicken was tender and flavorful. Our meals came with what seemed like an endless basket of lavash, which they can heat up for you to make it crunchy like a cracker (I preferred it at room temperature). My other friends ordered the lamb chops and the beef shawarma plate. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I really liked the servers here, they were attentive and gave excellent service. I want to start with the service. Miguel was spectacular. He was attentive, informative and very pleasant. But, best of all, when he gave us, what he thought was correct information he then confirmed it and corrected his error. Who does this on their own without request? Miguel does. We got the weekday family meal deal last night for $39.99. It came with 4 servings of chicken kabobs, a large order of rice, a whole bag of pita bread, a large serving of salad and two choices of dips. The food was good. I liked the dressing on the salad: refreshing and a teeny bit sweet. The chicken kabobs were flavorful and cooked well. Even eating them reheated in the microwave afterwards was still good. And what a good value! We had lots of left-overs. The portion was generous by today's standards given how expensive everything is. We got it to-go and ate it at home. It was so easy and affordable! I have eaten at this restaurant in-person as well. This location also serves as a hookah lounge. If that is something you are looking for, then they offer many different hookah flavors.
