The place comfy, the ambience is dark and bar-like, the drink vibes look chill, I have no complaints about the service. The service was good and the staff was nice. All this makes the steak disappointment that much worse for me. We ordered Ribeye and Shrimp Salmon Lobster Mac and Cheese Asparagus Lobster Roll (Sushi) A drink from the bar The Steak.. The steak came served on a cast-iron skillet. I ordered it medium-well. It arrived a little more medium than usual, but that was not an issue. What disappointed me was the puddle the steak was sitting in. Traditionally said puddle is a mixture of butter, thyme, and whatever seasonings you used on the steak when cooking it. In this case, that puddle was flavorless. It really tasted like the steak was just sitting in a flavorless oil. The steak was very bland, very difficult to think someone could send out a piece of meat out like that, especially when you find out what it costs. It was not worth it and not worth the final tab unfortunately. Really wanted to find a steak W for Downey but I don't see myself being interested in this place again.

I reminded him I was already there and JUST walked out. He didn't care. "$10 to go in or leave" I let it go, I just wanted to wash my hands and didn't want to get into it with that loser. Met with my Husband he gives me cash and whatever decided i was just gonna pay to wash my hands. Come around the back try to hand security the money and that guy looked at me confused. I told him what pea brain in the front said about the cover charge and he shook his head and told me not to worry and go in. I was in and out quick and I thanked him for being a gentleman. Sooo, maybe you might wanna look into your shady a** security. 7/3 I get there at 1:30 bar area is empty we sit with my friend we are being served everything was great. When we got there, there were only a couple of other tables but it started to fill up slowly after. Still, the place never felt too packed or overwhelming. Just chill vibes and low-key energy perfect for relaxing. They do have board games, which I thought was cool but they're kept locked up so you have to go ask the staff to access them. A tiny inconvenience but not a dealbreaker. Honestly, it would've been nice if they were just out and ready to grab but I get it. Now let's talk about the hookah I now consider myself a hookah amateur, I was surprised by the amount of options they had. There were so many flavors I'd never heard of, plus different types of setups. Service was fine no complaints. They were helpful when we asked about the hookah types and got us set up quickly. All in all this is definitely one of those hidden gems you'd probably never walk into unless you knew it was there. But I'm so glad I did. I never Yelp...but when I do... I came here on a Friday night because I was in the area at Porto's nextdoor and wanted to try some hookah. Wow, was I in for a surprise to say the least. This establishment is in dire need of some professional help. They need new management, a bigger space, fully dressed waitresses instead of prostitutes. The security guard thinks that he's some kind of macho man with the way he grabbed my ID from my hand. The hookah burns out entirely too fast. I asked for coals and had to wait almost 25 minutes. Sheesh! I tried the Safari Melon Dew & it tasted horrible as well. The hookah water was warm. Gross. This place has absolutely NO air conditioning and to top that off, it is the size of a living room. It also needs some sanitary work done. If you need to use the restroom, do not bother! You will have to wait in a line RIGHT by the DJ's speaker. There were no paper towels or toilet paper. Yuck. You will want to take a shower after coming here. I was stared down the whole time from what seemed to be regulars there, giving me a "locals only" vibe. I am unsure though. The music is extremely loud. The music choice could be ALOT better instead of hearing the same song every thirty minutes. Is this a hookah lounge or a club? The crowd here is filled with 18-20 year old, clearly intoxicated prostitute look-alikes waiting for a guy to take them home. Quite obvious there is alot of underaged drinking going on here with girls flopping around hanging out afterwards. The security guard should check for that instead of giving me an attitude. There were alot of older clearly intoxicated people as well, guessing from the bar next door. Point is, if you want to surround yourself with just graduated from high school children, this is the place to be. If you're over 21, save yourself the worst time of your life and head to a bar. read more

I was so excited when I found out that a Hookah Bar had opened up in Downey and I could only hope that it would live up to my expectations. Well I went for the first time last night, and it did. It was great, just my type of place. First and foremost, it's clean. There is seating along the walls in the form of a long continuous padded bench and it is single leather sofas for your comfort. If you have a large group of friends there are plenty of ottoman to pull up as well. They keep their Hookah's in the fridge to keep them cold which makes for a better smoke, which I really enjoy. The hoses on their hookahs are are just simple round tubing with the usual apparatus at the end for you to smoke through which is much cleaner that the average hookah. They have plenty of flavors, some which I have tried and some which I haven't, but I'm pretty sure that you wont be disappointed. I'm looking forward to when they get Bellie Dancer nitgh. They have a variety of drinks, both hot and cold. There is Baklava and chicken wings and other foods and quite a few other treats for sale, I tried it last night and it was great as well. If you are used to going to Anaheim or Westwood but want a better environment with better hookahs, and better owners, and cleaner bathrooms and an overall better experience, then I suggest you stop by Mosaik Hookah Lounge. 5 out of 5. This is what I'm talkin about. Bravo to the owners for understanding what it takes to create an awesome atmosphere with service being top notch. First off, great ambience, space and energy. I love that it's literally 5 minutes walking distance from my apartment, and that it's open late, woohoo! We only tried the hookah last night which was awesome, but I cannot wait to go back again. Overall I was super impressed with the friendly and sincere service. You can tell these guys know what they're doing and strive to create a great following. Every staff member was so accommodating from the moment we came through the door. In my experience a great establishment is created from its foundation. It's apparent that the owners are setting an excellent example for their staff and I wish them the best of luck in their success. I can't wait to go back! Go Mosaik! read more

There weren't many parties upon arrival - I came on a Friday so maybe it was a one off. Service was prompt, friendly, and being checked on felt genuine. I'd definitely come back. The music was good, but this seems like a fun spot for sure on busier days. We were told they were having issues with the hoses and that it was their "opening night" and they were still ironing things out, which was confusing considering the business already has around 70 reviews. When the hookahs finally arrived, the equipment quality was awful. The hoses kept falling out, and staff eventually had to use multiple extra gaskets just to get mine working properly. They also overfilled the base with water, so water was getting pulled into the hose with every draw. We weren't even provided tongs, and my bowl burned up unusually fast. It does look like they tried to clean the hookah before giving it to us because the base was filled with soapy water. There were so many bubbles on the surface of the water and each draw of the hookah tasted like dish soap. The worst part was the timing. My hookah was finally made usable only about 20 minutes before closing, so after paying full price I barely had any time to actually enjoy it before the building closed. At that point, I felt like I had paid for an experience I never really received. The rest of the lounge wasn't much better. The TV/music setup had terrible audio quality, the remote batteries were dead, and nobody could skip the advertisements or control what was playing. On the way in, water from the AC above the entrance literally dripped onto my head. The bathroom was also atrocious and badly needed attention. I understand that a new business can have opening-night issues, and I normally give places some grace for that. But if you're charging customers full price, the basic equipment and service need to be ready. Functional hoses, properly filled hookahs, tongs, clean bathrooms, working entertainment equipment, and enough time to actually use what you paid for are pretty fundamental. I came in wanting to support the place and have a good night, but after spending $200, I left feeling seriously disappointed and ripped off. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and fixes these issues quickly.
