This was my first time coming to LKSD to watch the Mexico game last week, and unfortunately my first impression was ruined by the hostess, Delilah. Our family was already seated, and because the restaurant was busy with a posted 2-hour wait, my uncle came to the front to let the hostess know we were joining our family's table to avoid any confusion. Instead of simply confirming, she immediately became argumentative and hostile. She repeatedly asked, "Do they even have seats?" We explained multiple times that yes, we did--we had arrived in separate cars and were meeting the rest of our family. Even after my uncle came up from the table to get us, she kept saying, "I don't think you guys have seats," with an attitude. She even told us that if we didn't have seats, we would be kicked out. She insisted on walking us to the table to "make sure" we actually had seats, and, as we had been telling her the entire time, we did. The entire interaction was unnecessary, embarrassing, and incredibly disrespectful. We've never been treated that way by a hostess before. As the first point of contact for the restaurant, she represents your hospitality, and this experience reflected very poorly. What made the situation even more disappointing was seeing the difference in how guests were treated. While Delilah was rude and confrontational with us for simply joining our family, there was a group of young men nearby who were extremely loud, visibly intoxicated, constantly out of their seats, and even appeared to be wrestling at one point. She repeatedly went over to them smiling and chatting. It really felt like we weren't treated fairly, especially since we were respectful the entire time. We came back again yesterday for the Mexico game with an even larger group--we had three tables. We never told one side of our family about our experience, yet they independently brought up that they were also having a bad experience with Delilah. My aunt had made a reservation, but when they arrived, Delilah acted as if she couldn't find it and seemed reluctant to seat them. They also felt she was rude, dismissive, and giving them dirty looks. It's disappointing to hear this wasn't an isolated incident. The reason I'm leaving this review is because everyone else we encountered was wonderful. I even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. I also want to recognize our server, Bryan. He completely turned our experience around. He was energetic, charismatic, friendly, attentive, and constantly checked on our table to make sure we had everything we needed. My dad even commented that every server should have Bryan's attitude and level of customer service. He truly made us feel welcome. LKSD has great food, a fun atmosphere, and an amazing owner and staff overall, but the hostess experience needs to be addressed. No customer should be greeted with hostility, especially when they're simply trying to join family who are already seated.
I didn't get any food, but I did have a virgin coffee martini! Typically it is hard to make a coffee martini I was told however the bartender did an amazing job! It was delicious! The ambience is really cute and perfect for a date!
I came here on a Friday night with a reservation for 2 at 7pm. We showed up right before 7 and was told it would be a 15 minute wait (even with a reservation), so my friend and I decided to walk around to pass the time. We ended up at a nearby bar and hung out there for over 20 minutes before coming back. When we checked back in with the hostess, she told us it'd be an additional 20 minute wait! We literally got seated closer to 7:40, despite a 7pm reservation. We wanted to have a quick dinner here before going to an event at 8pm... needless to say we were late to our event as we didn't leave here until 9! The food was good and fairly priced (although drinks were a little overpriced in my opinion as they were pretty basic), the decor was super cute, and the service was standard. When we'd asked for the check in advanced (again, because we were running late), it took them 10-15 to bring it and and did not bring us to go boxes as we'd asked for either, so that took another little while longer to receive.
Upon arrival around 3:30 PM, we were greeted warmly by your hostess/bartender/waiter, and the menu looked fantastic. The initial experience was very promising, and we appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. However, over the course of our visit, the service fell short of what we expected, especially considering the $850 bill. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed, and as a result, several challenges arose: * Drinks often took up to 25 minutes to arrive, and one of our guests had to request her drink three separate times. Food arrived in increments, and some orders were incorrect or included items we did not request. While the additional filet mignon was kindly removed from the bill and taken back to the kitchen. the asparagus that was not ordered was still charged. I thought it was interesting that the chimichurri sauce was charge and I'd assume it would be part of the steak itself. Given the repeated mix-ups, I had hoped the waiter might have removed them as a courtesy. Not a big deal but I'm sure the waiter was fully aware of the consistent mix ups Half the table did not have silverware when our food arrived, and I had to get it myself due to no staff being available. I want to emphasize that the food itself was delicious, and the initial welcome was lovely. That said, we felt that the service did not match the quality of the food or the expectations for a fine dining experience at this price point. With that being said, I do recommend the OG burger, the filet mignon, and the elote as an appetizer.
I came by on the evening market day so parking was a little tough but the food and drinks didn't disappoint. Great service and will be back to try more dishes. Ambience was chill to be an evening during a week day.

Waiter was nice enough merica fries - pretty good, not overflowing with sauce like many restaurants do for gimmicky fries Normal fries - thick cut and perfectly fried Pastrami sando - pretty good sandwich, pastrami wasn't too salty The mess Burger - overall decent burger, too much sauce though which hides the taste of the meat OG burger - good standard diner burger The fries aren't included with burgers. When waiter asks what would you like with that burger (fries, sweet potato fries, salad, etc), note that you have to pay extra for them. That was how we had 5 orders of fries at about 7 dollars each. -_-
Family members and I gathered for a post-holiday get-together. Our meal took place mid-day, on a Sunday. During our visit, the restaurant was not too busy; perhaps these were contributing factors. With seven diners, I was able to see a lot of menu items. Entrées ordered included: the 10oz Filet Mignon ($65); the Doc Holliday sandwich ($25); Duck Sando ($19); Colossal Burger ($24); 12oz Ribeye ($62); the Short Rib ($45). Sides included: Calamari Fries ($15); Amazeballs Brussel Sprouts ($16); and Asparagus ($14). Photos are attached. The menu is available for viewing, online. Notice that some plates, such as the Short Rib, are a complete meal (main dish and sides); other entrées (such as steaks and sandwiches) may require the ordering of sides à la carte, like vegetables or fries, to round things out. As a general observation, all of the items ordered were prepared and presented well. Everyone at the table was satisfied with the meal they selected. From my perspective, the menu is good in that it has diverse selection, at various price points. That said, I feel some entrées provide a better value than others. The restaurant has a "shoebox" configuration, with some patio seating. The interior decor and ambiance are nice. The number seated triggered a 18% service fee, although we added to "the tip". The service provided by our waiter was adequate. Interesting: All of the beers are packaged. They do not have taps. And when I ordered a Coca-Cola, it was in a bottle.
Visited on a Sunday evening with a group of 7. Sat at the bar, plenty of bar seating but moved to a table when we ordered some appetizers. Everything was tasty and came out pretty quickly. The drinks were delicious. The bartender Moises took good care of us! Cool vibe, great drinks, decent food. Definitely a spot I'd come back to to hang out and grab cocktails.

We decided to give it another shot . For steaks but What's going on with the steaks here?! . Flavors are not good no more. No flavor what so ever. Came here work dinner & I order dry aged steak & had no flavor very bland . My coworkers tomahawk had no flavor either. First time brought my coworkers they were happy this time everyone was dissatisfied with there steaks . it. What's going on , is it the cook ?! Service has always been great. Just the steak no so much no more. Ambiance still great!
I've eaten here a couple times and I enjoyed it both times. Good amount of choices in their menu for food and drinks. We ordered the tomahawk steak and it is delicious, omg. I will say it took awhile to get our order but it was worth the wait!! Meat was so flavorful and juicy, and it is enough for two people. Very filling and satisfying, highly recommend splurging on this. Sides were decent as well. Definitely will be back for the tomahawk. I also love how you can take home the bone with its designated to go box, very cute. We let our dogs have some of our experience too hehe. They loved it as much as we did!
Came here for dinner with friends and family for my birthday dinner. From beginning to end, service was excellent. Good selection of drinks, and an even better list of old fashioned drink variations. Food, was delicious and good portions. Great experience.
First time coming here and it was an overall great experience! The drinks were good, and the salmon I ordered was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive as well. Inside is nice with lots of seating and even outdoor seating available as well. It looked cleaned and I liked the dimmer lighting! I wish their Raw menu opened up earlier, we arrived at 3:30 and we were told their sushi menu doesn't open until later. Overall, good food and drinks but definitely on the pricey side!

Fun atmosphere, ample parking, great food and service! I came to LKSD for a friend's birthday on a Friday evening. The whole block was crowded from people going out to watch the World Cup game of the night. I was easily able to find free parking across the street in a parking structure. There's also a lot of street parking surrounding the restaurant. I think we had about 14 people total and the service was very prompt and friendly. Our orders were taken quickly, plates cleared promptly and anytime we needed something, someone was close by. I had the orange dream to drink which tasted like a creamsicle with coconut flavors. It was very fruity and refreshing. The table ordered fries-they were loaded and I can't remember what they were called, chicken wings, and calamari as appetizers. All were yummy but the fries were the best out of the three for me. For my entree, I had rainbow ceviche which was spicy, super fresh, and flavorful. It came with four tostada halves. My friend ordered regular fries on the side which were also delicious and a plus was that the ketchup had a kick to it. The restaurant is dimly lit with lamps on the table. There were a few TVs on the wall showing the soccer game. It's a very dark and moody vibe. There's a raw bar in the back where all the ceviche and sushi were made. We had a large party so there was an automatic 18% gratuity added and we got one bill so I'm not sure if they're able to split the bill. Great experience overall. It's a great place for a date or dinner with family. read more

One of the best Tomahawk steaks I've had in the city of Downey... LKSD is known for their unique drink specialties and their top tier dishes,... my friend and I shared a nice Tomahawk steak cooked to an absolutely medium rare perfection... I mean the flavors on this steak was Epic.... Making a reservation was easy... we were seated right by the patio which gave us a nice view of the outside... this place is perfectly suited for any type of night and also a cute " date " spot... it has a nice and casual date night ambiance. I suggest you make a reservation, as this place fills up quickly...... service was prompt... see ya soon LKSD read more

Just had the best dinner here! Haven't been back here in years and it taste just as good as I remembered it. The burgers were good, sushi was on point, steak was cooked perfect, and sides were great complements to our meal. Celebrated my son's birthday and they brought this really yummy churro dessert topped with a huge scoop of vanilla. Loved the service, our waitress was attentive and food came out fast for our hungry kids. Will definitely come back more often! read more
Been wanting to try this place and finally stopped in. Let's start with parking it's very limited but still not that bad. The inside is very speak easy vibe. Came here on a Saturday for lunch so it was slow. Waiter was nice. Orders the butter buffalo wings with fries and the cheese boner. The wait was long really long. Mind you it was empty. Also the music choice in there was unique. Very LA Chicano. It's like a want to be boujiee but still a little ghetto lol. Nothing wrong but with the prices on the menu you expect it to be a little more upscale. Overall is was good. The food was delicious so that made me happy. May come back to try some more. read more

The service started out extremely slow. We waited well over 20 minutes, just for someone to come take our drink order. The food was OK. Definitely overpriced for what it was. The ambience is cool. It's got a fun night life vibe. We ordered the New York strip the bone-in ribeye. Corn riblets. Mashed potatoes and gravy. And I gotta be honest the gravy was probably the best thing that we ordered. And then the corn Elote riblets. read more

The food is ALWAYS incredible! No complaints there! The service yesterday it took over an hour to get our food! A party of 3. When we got it it was phenomenal! No faut of the waitstaff! We has reservations at 2pm- there were only 2 other tables occupied and ne couple at the bar- so it wasn't due to volume. It did offer us more time to visit! But they sat us directly next to the couple at the bar who made out the whole time I took my 83 year old mother and 20 year old nephew for a special lunch because we LOVE THE FOOD!! We actually have reservations to bring the other 6 family members tonight The bathrooms here are super cool! BTW food was SO WORTH IT! It's pricy. Lunch fir 3 was $125.83 read more

We picked this place for our Friendsgiving dinner with my girls and WOW... everything from the food to the service was great! We ordered several dishes to share and every single one was fire. The lobster mac & cheese should be illegal!!! It was rich, creamy, and loaded. The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and full of flavor we shared it of course. And the loaded fries? Unreal. We kept looking at each other like, "Why is everything this good?" Ilsia ( hope that is her correct name) was friendly and attentive even though it was busy. We felt taken care of the whole night. If you're looking for a spot with delicious food, good portions, and a fun atmosphere to hang out with friends -- LKSD is definitely the move. I'll for sure be coming back! read more

Bruh....i was craving a burger and we looked up a bunch of places..when we finally decided on LKSD....i completely forgot about the last time I spent a pretty penny here!!!! For what I remember previously the ambiance is a mix between restaurant private to bar scene. With a mix of old school and new age hip hop music. Has three TVs to watch sports as well. Place has primo steaks and sides and seafood! I had the yellowtail carppaccio!!!!! Fire!! Spicy though. Maybe about a 4/5 for heat level. 5 slices, and literally melted in my mouth! This time we came for burgers...omg I got the LKSD OG burger, added sautéed mushrooms, Muenster cheese and pickled jalapenos...AAAAND I asked for the gloves..im super down for licking my fingers clean but tonight that was a nice skip. My date got the fire burger!! Literally came to the table and was immediately set on fire before our eyes. I have a video but can't upload!! French fries were fire. Flavor all the way through!!! Sweet potato fries!! On point!!! Garlic aioli!!! Delicious..and the beers were craft local beers...I'll be back for that filet mignon burger and lobster tail Mac and cheese...ask for hector!! He was super respectful, knowledgeable, and has a pleasant aura! Literally the "diamond in the rut" of Downey. Try this place!!! read more
Nice place to grab something quick to eat if in the area of Downey. The food and drinks are decent. The restaurant has a new owner, so the menu is updated with new items. Modern updated decor with more space. Our waiter was ver nice and gave great service. He was very attentive. Easy parking on street and at parking structures near by. read more
This place is bomb. Everything I tried was on point. I ordered the 10 oz Filet Mignon with the Lobster Tail. The filet was cooked to perfection at medium rare. The flavor was perfect, making it quite possibly the best Filet Mignon I've ever had. The Lobster Tail was an okay size but it was a great complement to the steak. I also ordered the Mac Daddy and the Elote Ribs. Both were great additions. I tasted the Mashed Potato with Gravy which was also prepared very well and definitely an above average take on the cuisine. Last, but not least, I ordered the Bread Pudding. I had no idea, but...spoiler alert... they set it on fire right in front of you while pouring caramel sauce all over the dessert. Parking is difficult here, especially on a Friday. It's understandable for a place located in this area where there are lots of other great options to eat. Service was great. The servers were very attentive and kept checking up on us which is always appreciated. Word of caution is to ensure you know they charge $5 or $6 per bottle of water. It may have been our fault for not specifying what type of water we wanted, but it seemed they defaulted to one that was a bit pricey for water. Other than that, great place. We went for dinner, we had a reservation but preferred a booth. We decided to sit at the bar while we waited, there was a miscommunication when seating guests. We were promised a booth as soon as one opened up and we didn't get seated until an hour after. The bartender was friendly we did order drinks, but had to close out our tab before we went to sit at our booth. Our drinks were average. The food was average. The appetizers were delicious. We got onion rings and duck mac and cheese, very good. We each got a burger and just expected a little more from the burgers since the description sounded so amazing. If you live around the area, it's a cool spot to grab a drink or two, but we won't be driving out our way for it again. read more

1000/10!!! Wow! This place blew me away!! Dim lighting! Perfect for an intimate dinner! Service was great! Our server continuously checked up on us! It was our first time too & he gave us great recommendations! I ordered a whiskey sour It was refreshing, bold, and dangerously easy to drink. 10/10 experience! I ordered the New York steak with a side of sweet potatoes, and everything was perfect. The steak was incredibly juicy and packed with flavor. My Old Fashioned was also excellent, made just right. While they offer several variations, I preferred the classic one from the menu (Old Fashioneds are my favorite drink, so I'll definitely be back to try the others!). The staff was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The host was kind, and our waiter was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. The ambiance was great as well. At first, I didn't realize it leaned more toward a bar than a traditional restaurant, but it didn't take away from the experience at all. I would say no - it gets too loud, selection wise maybe kid friendly, but more of a bar restaurant lounge environment

I seen on instagram they served the tomahawk steak and blow torched it in front of you is that special requested when ordering the tomahawk steak ? If so, is it an extra fee for that presentation?
I actually don't know the answer but I've seen people get the tomahawk and they don't blow torch it at the table. At least I've never seen it done. They might though. Like the salt Bae dude there might be special charge for blow torch appearance
