I went this past Sunday, 8-2-26. It was cool. No problems. It was a lot of people. A mixed crowd. We were all upstairs for a day party. There was also an event going on down stairs. We took the elevator to go upstairs. The Dj was playing some good music from 90s to 2000s R&B. And also some rap hits. From the looks of it, everyone had a good time. I didn't hear any complaints from anyone. I ran into about of handful of people I knew. The drinks are cool and average prices at a club or lounge, in my opinion lol. This is an update I ended up coming back here after deciding on some reggaeton fun. Long story short, this place is way overcrowded, very pricey cover ($35), and watered down drinks. I asked if they could make an old fashioned and it was literally the worst I have ever had. It was loaded with ice and had little alcohol in it. If you are drinking, don't order any cocktails. The party scene has amped up due to the different venues that are hosting watch parties. Beso was one of them, and thus I decided to visit this spot for a good time. And a good time I did have. But before getting here I had to experience its line. Colombia was playing another team, I cannot remember who their opponent were. After this game, Argetina was playing another team, I cannot remember who the other team was, either. I was in line to enter the club while the Colombia game raged. The entrance was suppose to be free. Yet the line was not moving. Which gave me an opportunity to view the dynamics of the line, and quite frankly, also endure them. In front of me were four guys. They were roughhousing, or should I say roughlining. One of the guys made another guy drop his cellphone and glass case. The guy who dropped his items called the instigator colorful names laced with expletives but with a smile and jovial energy. To each their own I thought, but I did not see how this kind of engagement was fun. Then I discovered that the instigator had been kicked out of the club earlier. He was asked to leave anew, to depart not only from the club but from its line. He had tried to insert himself with an existing group and thus enter cloaked by a pack. The three guys did not disengage with the instigator and followed his shenanigans with a grin and bare it approach. I am not sure how they felt when the bloke left but I think they might have felt an internal sense of relief that they did not show in their body language. Soon after it was my turn to feel the lash of the line. There was this security guard or bouncer that spoke to the three dudes in front of me. He explained that the cost to enter was 10 dollars because now that the Colombia game had finished, the after party began, and to enter it would be 10 dollars. I heard three guys behind me discuss the entry free and decided to not enter. I heard them rationalize how 10 dollars was too much to spend for Beso. Their reasons mostly surrounded around the statement one made: "I've been here before and there were not many girls". So they decided to "step out later that night."The biggest take away for me is that they did not want to shell 10 dollars after waiting and being there. They were not cheap, they were responsible with their fun spending, and made choices that were best for them. They reflected what one should do when navigating a nearly suffocating inflation atmosphere. The three guys in front of me entered and so did I. However, the security or bounce that I discussed above tried to block my good time. When he informed the three guys of the cost, he only looked at them and not me. WhenI was paying, he told the casher, "you wanna let him in, he was wearing a tshirt." The cashier nodded yes, and the bouncer said, "are you sure." In my attempt to party, he was the villain of my tale. I was showered, clean, dressed in what I felt comfortable in, and made me feel good, and he deemed it unworthy attire. To him, I say relax, my outfit in no way disrupted the integrity of Beso. But he made me feel like I should not enter despite other people wearing Jersey and t-shirts. I felt singled out, and for what reason I am not sure. The partying was so much. And I did meet a bartender who helped the cause. His name was Marcel. I got three margaritas. When I went for the third one, he was helping another customer, and as she was closing her tab he looked at me and raised his finger to signal one, and I said yes. He had gathered that I was there for my usual, and instinctively shortened my wait. He acted in a respectful and seasoned matter. These actions seem small but they help me feel like the party belongs to me too! The game played in screens in front of us and above us, while the dance floor blazed. I lost myself in the moment, in the good time, which is the highest praise I can offer a club. I had fun, and I was glad I came. At one point, I looked at the lasers of Beso, and my mind was quietly hypnotized because the videos seem to have a vapor flowing within them. I tried to capture a video of it, but I am not sure if I was successful in capture the vapor inside the lights. But I never had seen taht before, and I am not sure where it came from, the vapor within the light. I will go here again, I will just make sure to take the right type of shirt. And maybe have one in the car as backup in case my taste does not meet the quality measure of this place. read more

If you're doing the Mandala Cantina Sunday brunch, do yourself a favor and wander through the corridor into Beso afterward. Trust me... it's the after-party you didn't know you needed. We had brunch at Mandala and accidentally discovered Beso when we followed the music through the hallway. Suddenly we were in a full R&B dance floor situation and it was so much fun. The transition from brunch vibes to day-party energy was seamless and honestly the perfect way to keep the celebration going. Apparently you can also reserve tables inside Beso as part of the R&B brunch experience, which we didn't realize at the time but now that we know, that might be the move next time. The vibes were great, the crowd was fun, and people were definitely ready to dance. My only small note: I wish they had leaned a little harder into classic R&B. Whenever the DJ dropped the throwbacks, the dance floor lit up immediately which makes sense since most of the crowd looked very millennial. Give us the classics! Overall, we had an absolute blast and loved the combo of brunch at Mandala followed by dancing at Beso. It turned a regular brunch into a full Sunday day-party experience. I was really excited to visit this place after seeing all the TikTok videos of people watching the FIFA World Cup and playing soccer-themed games. It looked like such a fun atmosphere, so my group decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing from the moment we arrived. We were immediately asked whether we had General Admission or VIP tickets. We had already purchased tickets but had no idea there were different admission levels because that information wasn't made clear beforehand. After our tickets were scanned, a server asked how much we planned to spend. We were then told that unless we were spending at least $400, we would have to stand in the back with no seating. Spending hundreds of dollars just to get a chair is unreasonable, especially when this policy isn't clearly stated on their website or social media. Another disappointment was the false advertising. Their TikTok and Instagram make it seem like both the upstairs and downstairs areas are open during the event. However, when we asked about the upstairs seating, we were told it was only available for the after-party. That was completely different from what was advertised online. Overall, this place is much smaller than it appears in the videos, and the prices don't match the experience. If you're planning to visit based on what you've seen on TikTok or Instagram, I recommend saving your time and money and going somewhere else. They should be much more transparent about their seating policies, minimum spending requirements, and which areas are actually accessible during events. read more

We had a bottle service table for 4 at Beso yesterday. we didn't all arrive together so we were told to come outside when the last friend arrived to grab her & so she can get a wristband. when she arrived & I went outside to get her, it was a problem. Firstly, the lounge was dangerously overcrowded--an actual fire hazard if there were any emergency. It was difficult to get back outside. When I approached security to explain I had a table and just needed to grab my friend as they had told me to do, they made me get back I get in line despite already having been upstairs. When we made it to the front of the line, we were told the venue was at max capacity & we had to wait to go back inside --even though we already had a reserved table, active bottle service, and were actively dining and drinking upstairs, with half of our group up there. The staff couldn't seem to separate existing table guests from new arrivals. & the worst part was that right after being told it was max capacity & we had to wait, they allowed the people behind us to go ahead of us and let them in, because they had a table. We already had a table we had been sitting at for an hour, make it make sense. When I questioned this inconsistency, no one answered but Michelle made faces as if annoyed so she said just let them in. When they let us in we walked up to Michelle as she's the promoter providing the wristbands since we were told the last friend that arrived needed one. We walk to her & she looks at us with a wtf do you want, type of look & said "can I help you?" With an atrocious attitude. We said, we have a table & before I can finish saying my friend need a wrist band she said "who are you?" When I said she needs a wristband? She said "I can't read your minds" again, with a bad attitude. She then said I have 5 people talking in my ear at once --as if that justified her rudeness. Her attitude was completely unprofessional given the confusion was entirely their organizational failure, not ours. And then she has the audacity to say "and don't come back outside" as we wereWalking in. Then why would they tell us we needed to go back outside to grab our last guest???? On the bright side, our server was exceptional and made the best of a frustrating situation. However, Michelle's demeanor, body language, & attitude were so disrespectful that it overshadowed everything else. I hate to leave bad reviews, but when someone is that rude and disrespectful, I speak up. She should not be in a customer-facing role. Unfortunately, her behavior has made me not want to return to Beso. She behaved like she owned the place however even an owner should never act in such way with customers. GHETTO! is what I'd use to describe this establishment. They favor people that they know, security guards were not doing their job properly We went to this bar to watch the Mexico vs. Korea game and left extremely disappointed. The atmosphere was okay, but the service was terrible from start to finish. The place was so overcrowded that it was nearly impossible to walk around, and it honestly felt like a fire hazard. What was even more concerning was the security. It appeared that certain people were allowed to bypass the rules if they knew the security staff, and we even witnessed people seemingly paying security guards to let things slide. The worst part was that a hoodlem looking fella from another group picked a fight with someone from our group and repeatedly threatened one of our friends, saying he was armed and wasn't afraid to use it. Security was made aware of the situation, but instead of removing him from the premises, they allowed him back inside because they knew him. Dabbed him up and everything. GHETTO!! Overall, the lack of crowd control, poor service, and unsafe handling of a serious situation made for a very negative experience. Food was ok for what it was. We will not be returning. They say it's free with RSVP but what they don't tell you is if you want to sit, that's $150 for 1 seat! or more if it's a big game like Mexico) a couch for you and your party of 4? $700!!! Want to eat? Well cough up the $150 first cause unless you spent $$$ on a seat, you're not allowed to order food. Your completely ignored by staff, you can open a tab so you to back and forth to the bar risking your standing spot, and they're just all around unorganized. A lot of us didn't know it was minimum $150 a seat and we're all very disappointed with many leave elsewhere. They rip you off. Listen to the reviews. 0/10! Photo is me asking for a time to get a good seat and being told a time but NEVER people told it would cost me $150. If I knew, I wouldn't have bothered. As a person that has been working in the service industry for almost 7 years and a bartender myself, this is the worst experience I've ever had. We waited in line to get in and it was going good but when we got to the front there was a $25 cover for each person. Which is wild and way too much money to charge for a cover. We decided to pay and we got in and immediately when we got in it was so packed, which is normal but the bar and the dance floor was so close together it felt like a hallway and it was so hard to walk. We got some amazing drinks and the bartender was on top of it, excellent service, probably the only good part of our experience. After that we wanted to dance, but when we tried the security guard told us to go a different way, then we discovered that the whole dance floor was only for VIP. Which is in-fucken-sane, i get it having a vip section but for the WHOLE dance floor ???? I've personally never heard of this concept, and to me it's insane to charge people $25 to get into a club and then have to pay more money just to be able to go on the dance floor and dance. Like that's the whole point of a club Also the information of having to be vip to be on the dance floor was never disclosed prior to entering, atleast if that is going to be your tactic of your club, that information should be shared with the customers before entering. I believe they know that this is wrong, and they don't want people to know before going in because then most people won't want to go inside, rightfully so. Also false/ misleading advertising, on tiktok the videos of this place make it look much bigger that it actually is and they show that there is 2 levels, and you probably have to be vip to get up there too. Honestly just so insane way of running a club, they are definitely trying to be like a hyped fancy club like in Hollywood, but this club is in a regular town, if your going to treat people this way atleast have the ambience to do so. I was really hyped to go here based off the videos I saw, and it just didn't hit. Beso is a cool spot in Downey, there's a lounge in the second floor. We have gone twice with my wife and usually get some small bites and drinks. Music is mixed up between reggaeton, house, hip hop and rock en español. The crowd is mostly Latino, but there is a mix of everything. It gets hella packed, only a small center stage to dance in. Walk ways are so crowded and "security" walking down them with strobe flashlights every few minutes. Have to constantly move so they could get past. I'm giving this place a one star. First and last time going. I went here last night to see a singer perform. My party and I reserve a table. We still had to wait in line. VIP line was so long, security was cool no problem. Once we got to our table, they gave us the menu. I guess in order to stay in the table, we had to order a bottle, when we want to mixed drinks instead, but there were tables around us that had no bottles and they were casually just sitting there. We got kicked out of our table and to top it off they charge like $66 per person, when on the website, it said free before 11 or pay $20 on the web, and after 11 it'll be $30. But since they are a different company because we sat upstairs, that was their cover charge. Overall, we did end up getting a great view so I'm happy we didn't stay at the table. I honestly don't understand the hype around Beso. They try very hard to create an upscale Hollywood-type atmosphere, but the energy and customer service just don't match it at all. What stood out most was how uncomfortable and unwelcome we felt the entire time. The bartenders were rude, dismissive, and gave off the impression that they were judging people based on appearance and race. As Black customers, it genuinely felt like we were being racially profiled while spending money in the establishment. What makes it even more ironic is that they heavily play African American music and benefit from Black culture, but the treatment we experienced felt completely opposite of appreciation or respect. There are plenty of places in Hollywood and LA where people of all backgrounds are welcomed, respected, and treated equally regardless of what staff assumes about their income or status. Unfortunately, this was not one of those places. I would not recommend spending your money here if you expect professionalism, inclusiveness, or quality service. read more

My husband and I absolutely love coming to Beso. It has become our go-to spot for our date nights and little escapes from mom and dad life with our four boys. Every time we come, the energy is amazing, the music is always right, and the vibes are exactly what we need. This club has potential to be better but the setup isn't good. All of the free space is taken up for space around the vip sections to the point where the dancefloor is made so tiny and awkwardly shaped. They put ropes up to cave it in as much as possible to where I wasn't even sure if it was a dancing area until more people came. Half of the vip was empty in the first place. The upstairs is nice but doesn't have a dancefloor upstairs, which would make more sense. Again most of the real estate up there was also for vip tables. Security was really horrible. The women working here I talked to were so pleasant, so this isn't towards them. Specifically one security guard constantly went out of his way to bother me & my friend. It was really weird and creepy. This is all after I asked him one simple question and he gave me the worst attitude for no reason. He really hates his life and it shows. Every chance he got to flash his little flash light on me & try to tell me to move, he took it. Like sir there is quite literally nowhere else to stand. Move where? Even when we got away from the bar to go in the "dancefloor" they still got annoyed with people walking through the literal walkway to get there and told us to go around, in which we had to squeeze in between vip tables. This literally makes no sense. You're creating your own problems allowing too many people in and nowhere to stand and then getting mad at the customers. Besides the spacing & security the music and ambiance was on point. Bartenders were nice. Parking was available. I would unfortunately not come back nor recommend this place due to the security and horribly small dance floor.
