If I could, I wouldn't leave any stars this place has really aggressive security and any minor inconvenience to them is a huge deal. They will kick you out for any reason and it's not necessarily secure because the common cohead are allowed to stay. read more

I come here every other weekend, great bands playing. However if you leave your table the security or waitress will give your table away. If you come back and tell them you were in that table they don't care. I spoke with the security and they said "well you should have left a bag" I was like "so they can steal it" he was like "well that sometimes steal it but we can't really do nothing" they staff have changed since like June because the other staff was very nice and the security and waitress already new us. Bring back the old staff!!!!! I will be taking a napkin or a florero going forward so they see that table is taken. Other than that it has been great!! It's $4 dollars so it's super expensive. I usually drink a gallon of water before I go in. Give the waitress 2 dollar tip and she will be bringing ice all night. That way ur bottle will last all night. Most important you see all the nicer looking girls coming in. Just make mental note where girls are sitting at and who they are with. Surprisingly a fun place to let loose on the dance floor. The crowd tends to be a more mature crowd, couples and single ladies and men there to have a great time with one another. Plenty of seating available to people watch :) and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive to us. It tends to get really busy after 10 PMor so. There is plenty of parking which is secure for a fee and some street parking. They have a variety of music for everyone's liking but we were specifically looking for a place that plays Banda...which are very few venues, so this was a nice surprise. Would definitely return! Had a decent time here last night. Music is good, but I was surprised to find out that all beer is $9 a can or $49 for bucket of 6 beers. That's pretty pricey! Cover charge on Monday was $15 per person. It's definitely a different crowd. Music is mostly live regional Mexican with a bit of Puerto Rican/Columbian DJ music. Crowd is mostly Spanish-speaking. Being from OC and coming here to "dance"... our party was quite surprised when we arrived on site. I must give the restaurant props for going all out when it comes to Christmas decorating, however. You couldn't miss the huge obnoxious Christmas tree on the roof top from a mile away. First, we arrived around 10:45pm or so, got charged a $20 cover, got frisked at the door, and walked into a whole different planet. If you want to fit in, women dress scantily clad (the tigher and cleavage bearing, the better- oh, and props to shiny gold tights!) and the men should don on the cowboy boots and hats. Being Asian, I definitely got plenty of stares... but, I was with a fun group of people, got some dances in (what a work out!), and saw some girls make a valiant attempt to flaunt what their momma's gave them in the cages (shudder). By the way, they only accept cash (why am I not surprised)... we had to pull money out from the ATM machine that charged us a $4 service fee. Sheesh. If you're not hispanic... make sure you go piss drunk. You'll appreciate it even more. read more

I had so much fun the 2 times i went there: super cool, casual, nice ppl, drinks super cheap, good music especially the mexican band playing. Such a great experience in a whole different world. We were a big group of friends and they thought me one by one how to dance different type of south american music, such an amazing time. I'm not really crazy about this place, unless your 18 and you like banda/corridos/spanish paisa music. This place charges $10 (which is a good thing) the whole night, so if you think that you have to pay an extra $5 after 11pm.....UR WRONG!!!! N-E ways, once you open the doors, you'll see the main stage and a live band playin right there. During the whole night, you get to dance to bandas or nortenas....but when they're on their break, you get to dance to the dj which plays for an hour-or a half. The dj plays from rock en espanol to regeton, so it's all paisa night. The drinks............$7 for a shot.....the usual..............no comments on that.......................but watch out for the waiters and waitresses. They can bump into you or one of their bottles will fall off. but that's on your own risk. So, I give it 3 stars. Just a nice place to dance. read more

Not my first choice. It gets SOOOO packed that you can hardly walk with out bumping into something or someone. I couldn't even stand at the bar without the waitress bumping into me and basically making me get away from the bar. If I'm drinking I should be able to drink at the bar if I want to. Then the struggle at the restrooms. One stall didn't close and there are only two stalls. Bearly two people fit in the place likw wtf. The music was pretty good can't complain but again lack of space. They should make it bigger or limit the amount of people who go in. read more

I came here on a Monday night and had a pretty good time. It's an excellent place to check out for those who are into banda and norteñas or for those like myself that have just been drawn to the place by it's elegant decor. Be careful about what time you get here especially if your driving far. I would recommend calling before leaving because I came at around 8 o' clock and they were barely just opening. The cover was $5 and the water almost cost the same. What?! Since it was Monday I found free parking on the street without any problems. As I walked in, there was a strange mix of The Eagles and Bachata playing. While waiting for the live music to start I really began to admire the spacious, dimly lit interior of the restaurant almost as much as the neon lit exterior. The place has a classy feel to it aside from the men's grungy bathroom. If I'm not mistaken this may have been used as a filming location in "A Better Life." In addition, the servers who were all young ladies were very polite and even a little flirty. Anyways it was 30 minutes in when they finally had a banda band perform. They will sometimes have breaks while the next band is setting up where the DJ will mix up the music with some merengue, cumbia, and other latin music. Just a warning; it can get LOUD. Bring ear plugs if your ears are sensitive. I've been to rock shows in more confined places that can't compete with the shrill, high notes played by the brass players from these banda bands. So be prepared to have minimal conversations with the people you came with for long periods of time. Speaking of that, it seems most people brought dates, but there will be some occasional groups of single Mexicanos and Mexicanas. All in all, it's a cool place to check out especially for those who are into or even curious about Mexican music and dancing. read more

The reason why I'm giving this a 3 star is because they played the same songs over and over! Like really you don't know any other song than "mi 45" ? I don't want to hear that song anymore now. This place is good. They actually answer the phone on dance nights. I paid $10 per person, and there were four different bands. They have more than one dance floor. A bucket of Corona's is $30 which is better than $40 or $45 at any other Mexican dance place in Los Angeles. Lots of people! But, I didn't see a fight which is wierd in these places. This is an older more settle and mature crew which make is it more fun; because, they really do only come to have a good time. They sell food late at night. I really like this place :) They deserve every star for keeping this business clean( no drug safehaven), and for attracting a happy party clientele. Good music too. They have a no "Cap policy" for some reason, so they make you take off your cap and pay a fee!!! is okay for minors to enter with a fake IDs, but noooooo your not allowed to wear a cap! wth! how is wearing a cap worst?? Once inside...the place is a mess, the female waiters are old enough to be your mother and they ignore you most of the time! Ni puedes pedir cerveza y tomar a gusto! The restrooms are a joke! Gas Stations have a bigger restrooms than this place and its does not help that its always packed, so you have a 15 dudes in a small restroom waiting in line! by the time it's your turn ya te miaste! Mainly there are more guys than females by farrr, for every one female ay quince vatos es una "guerra de espadas" ayi adentro! The dance floor is too small, so when your dancing people are constantly bumping into you. you cant even enjoy dancing here! they you have a limit of people allowed in there! The ONLY good thing about this place is the live music they have some good conjuntos here most of the time on thursdays.
