I came in on Wednesday evening with a work consultant to evaluate the venue for a potential company…read morebooking for an after-dinner gathering. We work two blocks away, and a bartender here had previously encouraged me to stop in and reserve a table if the space felt right. I was genuinely excited about the idea of hosting our event here and wanted to see how the space functioned in person. When we arrived, the only open seating was a larger table, so we sat there and ordered one drink each. While we were halfway through our first drinks, we were asked if we could move to make space for a ten-person group. We agreed, the group behind us offered to include us at their table, and the server offered a complimentary drink for the inconvenience. I asked if we could receive those drinks before relocating. About a minute later, a young woman who identified herself as the owner approached and told us she would cover our tab, but that we were being asked to leave. No clear explanation was given. Shortly after, another staff member stated that I was "intoxicated," even though we had not finished our first drinks, had been calm, and had already agreed to move. The interaction came across as unprofessional and left us feeling singled out and treated differently than other guests. Being asked to leave mid-drink over a seating adjustment we were willing to accommodate was especially disappointing, given that this visit was made with the intention of reserving space for our group. I later reviewed video of the interaction, and the sequence of events matched what I've described: we were on our first drinks, cooperative, and not disruptive prior to being asked to leave. I'm sharing this so management can understand how the situation appeared from someone who was sincerely looking forward to hosting an event here and supporting a local business nearby.

We work two blocks away, and a bartender here had previously encouraged me to stop in and reserve a table for a group if it seemed like a good fit, which is why we chose this place. The way the situation unfolded came across as unprofessional and left us feeling singled out and treated differently than other guests. Especially considering that this visit was specifically to propose reserving space for a company event, being asked to leave mid-drink over a seating adjustment we were accommodating was disappointing. I later reviewed video of our visit, and the sequence of events reflected exactly what I've described: we were on our first drinks, cooperative, and not disruptive before being asked to leave. I hope sharing this helps management understand how this interaction appeared from the perspective of potential regulars who work nearby and were genuinely considering hosting an event here.
