I love this place…read more It's a stereotypical, little, Mexican watering hole. Until recently just a bar in the corner, a few tables and a bunch of folding chairs. On fight night they'll sometimes pull down the theater screen and show the fight but otherwise this is a pretty chill location. Everyone's friendly, there's never any drama. Beer only, out of bottles and cans, no hard stuff and no food. The most exciting thing that's happened here in years is that they put a built-in, bar height counter along the south wall, probably doubled their table space. Exciting news indeed.

Never coming here again…read more I went last night to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in years and stepped outside for a moment to get some air because it was getting stuffy inside. The girl security was chill, the heftier guy must've not liked me or something because he was not trying to join the small talk I was making with the other security. I tell her I need to go inside and get my friend because we were leaving and the male security tells me there's "No Ins and Outs". I was literally going to go inside and get my friend and go. He doesn't let me. So then I spam my friend to let her know they're not letting me back inside. When she comes out I tell her my shoes are hurting and I take my heels off because we had to walk. He then accuses me of being messy drunk for being taking my heels off. Learn to read the room sir. We step away from the front and literally walk a few businesses over AWAY from the bar. This is how I know the security was looking for a problem. I tell my friend we don't have to worry about anyone messing with us on our walk because I have a tazer. I show it to her and press the button to let her know it works. The security guard leaves his post and walks towards us and tells me "now you have to leave because you're doing that" I was already leaving and he had no reason to walk towards me on the side walk he should have stayed at the front door. I wasn't even talking to him anymore. We were literally 2-3 businesses away. So I turned the tazer on and told him to leave, he approached us. There was no reason for him to walk up to us we already left. This man was looking for trouble. He needs to be fired. I was scared I was gonna have to use it if he got physical. Management should really look into that security guard because it makes me wonder how many patrons he actually messes with when he's on a machismo power trip. I am never coming back to this establishment again. You guys don't even deserve a star. How dare you allow your security to harass someone trying to leave. This man does not know how to diffuse situations properly. He needs to be fired. And then witnessing him trying to rewrite reality was truly disgusting. I'm so genuinely curious if he has history of getting physical with patrons. If he does, I'm certain he's not as innocent as he performs.

Me and the owner, who also does the sound, had almost the exact same interests and favorite bands. It was like meeting a new best friend. In addition, you can usually find street parking, and all the meters are broken so you don't even have to pay. LOL! There is a lot there that is cheap, too if you need to pay. There is a downstairs with a bar and upstairs is the other bar with the stage. The owner is a drummer in a band, just like my son, and thanks to that they have an amazing house kit and the guy does excellent sound. It's a small, comfy space. Drinks were outstanding. The owner and bartender make some amazing cocktails. The crowd was great for a Metal Monday night. Can't wait to have my boy play here again! Definitely a place worth checking out in Downtown LA!
