I'm a little nerd who wants to read but also be around people and noise. what seems distracting for some is really relaxing for me (a college student always in chaos). I liked coming here alone to read and have my great spicy micheladas. The staff were nice and attentive, there was even a pop up pizza vendor! It was my first time in, but music was blasting, vibes were high and regulars directed me to the right bathroom when I was lost I had a great time I hope to be back soon. I do not recommend this bar. This bartender Karina is rude and does not know how to make drinks! Me and my friend frequent this bar often and were shocked at how bad her customer service was. Because of this I will not be returning. You would think someone living off tips would know how to treat their customers but I guess not. We came here on a friends night out where we were out drinking at multiple bars throughout the night. This place was alright. Somewhat of a hassle to get a drink but we were able to hang out. I love bars like this. We sat at the bar for most of our visit here. There was loud music blasting the entire time so it was kind of hard to make conversation so we ultimately left. I would say though, if you need a place to drink and play some pool. This place can be for you. read more

This place was popping on a Saturday night. They had a DJ playing and there was a Taco Bar right outside. I felt the DJ played great music. The crowd was loving it. 10/10. The drinks were a little weak. I felt like I was at a chain restaurant where they measure the shot, which is annoying. More soda water than anything. This isn't my local bar so I totally get it. The service was still good. The bar tenders were none stop and still stayed on top of it. You can tell they give better service to the locals. All in all, I still had a good time. BAD!BAD!BAD & rude , unprofessional customer service! Just Wow for me. The girl waitresses are soooo rude & weird. Only the 2 guys are actually cool & attentive. Was there not too long ago with my Man & these girls act as if they cant do their job right. Like if u dont want to serve or attend for people, get another job. They came across as if they were even envious of any girl there with their man.. like do ur job and dont worry hunny that not everyone is hitting on u giving u attention. Just do ur job. We are paying customers. & ultimately paying ur salary. So do ur job. Like I said the guy bartenders were nice and cool, but these girls were rude & sloppy & weird. We called them over several times and they are either deaf or were simply ignoring us & not just us , but I noticed they did it to other girls as well that were with their dudes. Went in on Tuesday night expecting a quite chill night. Bee was bartending, first time I ever received service from her. It was a very busy crowded night. Her vibe was amazing. Found this lil gem in Downey. Has a full bar. Dj on hit, Friday nights after 9. You can vape and even start dancing. Security is really laid-back, but on point. Staff is Kool, and bartenders serve good drinks. I will come back to this place before I go to the overcrowded club next door. read more

Been coming here for a few months. Bartenders are friendly and welcoming. Walking in, it's great to see there are patrons from all walks of life. Their happy hour is great. The girl with the glasses, I think her name is Evelyn, always cards and doesn't over serve. The vibe is fun especially when there are games on the screen (Dodgers). The bartender was so aggressive and mean, we just walked in and she refused us service. We didn't feel welcomed or tended to. We were celebrating our friends promotion, I don't know if this matters but he's gay and he felt a certain way by her. She was very cruel and manipulating. She didn't even speak to us in a respectful way, she just judge my friends and told us she wasn't serving us. We felt very discriminated. Yesterday, May 2, 2025, I went to Kelleys with one of my girlfriends, and we had a great time until the bartender Karina became jealous and hostile. I dislike negative reviews because I understand people have bad days, and I'm for worker rights. But my friend and I arrived around 6 pm, and the bartender Karina was the only one there. She was nice and friendly initially, she stated it was her birthday, and we got her some early birthday shots and sang her happy birthday. While there Kelleys Bar had good music (hip-hop) so I proceeded to dance while at the bar (shaking my butt, singing, moving to the music while my friend recorded) she became jealous due to her "boyfriend" or the man she liked was sitting next to me I did not notice him nor find him attractive at all or had a flirty interaction for her to be upset, she was upset that I was dancing, which is a normal thing to do at a bar (lol). Again, I did not pay him any attention due to minding my business and having a great time with my friend. When Rudy showed up (amazing bartender), she stopped bartending, was visibly very upset, and became hostile and stated I should leave, but my friend could stay. My friend and I left due to her hostility, which created a negative environment. As a past bartender myself, I will encourage Karina to have better customer service, and if she's insecure or a very jealous woman, to not invite her love interest to her place of work, especially not a bar where women and people in general dance, and to behave professionally. So, Karina, again, your man is not attractive to me. I didn't have a conversation with him, nor noticed him for you to become jealous, rude, and combative to me. I did not want him. I hope the owner of Kelley's reads this to speak to Karina about her jealousy and rudeness. read more

The one star is for the DJ. Where do I even begin. This place is a locals only vibe. If your not a local, good luck trying to get a drink. The bar tenders ignore you, there were a handful of throw up incidents inside and outside the establishment, not a friendly ambiance, bathrooms were dirty, and the cherry on top was that one of the bar tenders was washing her foot on the bar sink after being thrown up on. She just threw her foot on the bar and started washing it very casually as we all watched. This place is sketch, nothing like the other Kelly's Tavern. Needless to say we will not be back. read more
