My favorite nights are Thursday and Sunday for karaoke but lately they've been having actual karaoke contest on Saturday night. Last contest was $500 in prizes. Next week, $1000 in prizes. This review is about Karaoke night on Saturday 9/21. The staff is amazing. Except for one dude. I've been to a myriad of different karaoke bars throughout LA and SoCal in general and never have I been treated as poorly as I was by the dude running karaoke tonight. Let me preface by saying I believe the point of karaoke is to simply have fun and enjoy singing. But, you should also be treated with RESPECT. Whoever this dude was when I asked him if he could pitch my song up or down said he didn't have time for this and proceeded to just pick a random video off his youtube app. Honestly, singer or not, I find this to be incredibly disrespectful. You should be trying to make your clients have a good time and make them feel special. Otherwise, you're just a dude playing youtube videos off your phone. If you want good Karaoke, go to Same Ol Saloon. They'll treat you with respect. read more

Everything is expensive. No thank you. Over priced service for the VIP section. The service charge is 40% of your bill for one server. The bar line is always long and not to mention the long lines for one bathroom for men and one for women. Bad experience. Never going back. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem in Downey. It's located right off of second Street and Downey blending in nicely so it's unnoticeable. I love a really good cheeseburger, especially when all the ingredients combined create perfection. This cheeseburger "the LAX" should be top ten for the month of December 2023 in LA county. This savory combination with its simplicity, makes it so amazing between the layers of patties, grilled onions, arugula and cheeses that it smashed between some soft, sweet buns like that of resembles Hawaiian rolls. Of course I could have added more to it like: jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, avocado or bacon, etc. but it was simply divine the way it was prepared. The owner "David" served me that evening and he offered a wcipa (west coast Indian pale ale) a new beer he was serving that paired well with the food. I waited too long to review the Epic Lounge and totally forgot what we ordered. I do remember everything we had was terrific and definitely worth the price ($$$+) including drink specials. Our only problem was this place was LOUD! We were sitting at a small table and couldn't carry on a conversation. The place was packed and service was a bit slow. Place looks way better then before however, no menus, they have some sort of items priced on a small board on the wall which had no lighting and no way to read it. When I asked the bartender which cocktails they serviced, he just pointed at the bottles. The dance floor was bigger but I noticed a lot of the bad things pointed out by bar rescue happening all over again, including staff not being engaged on customers and cleanliness. I was treated so unfairly by the owner of this club! I came to an event my friend's were hosting. The security at the door were not checking bags. I brought a small personal of Hennessy with me to drink while I was there. The fee was $30 for entry so we paid $60 because it was 2 of us and I also paid $50 of food at the bar! The owner saw my bottle on my table and took it from me. When I addressed him and asked him where did he take the bottle, he said he threw it away! At that point, I was pissed and felt like he was trying to be funny with me. I told him I can take my bottle back to my car, he didn't have the authority to throw away my belongings. He said he didn't care and I couldn't get my bottle back. I told him his security didn't check bags at all and more than 1 of my friends brought in liquor. He was disrespectful and very unprofessional! Even after spending more than $100 At the club between me and my friend that came, I was treated like I was not welcome. Subsiding the fact I came with a personal bottle of liquor. He asked me why I didn't purchase from the bar, and he specifically saw a whole table of food while he was trying to act like he was walking over to see if we needed anything else. read more

I came here to take photos of my friends who were DJing on a Saturday Night. The space itself is great for dancing and the drinks are cheap and strong. One major plus is the cool patio out back. It gives you a good eacape when the dance floor gets too crowded. The staff here cracked me up! We all had such a good time together and they were so friendly in showing me around before I needed to shoot. First time Epic Lounge yesterday for a film screening for the Glennfest film festival. The venue itself feels very much like a dive bar. I really liked the classic rock inspired art on the walls. The bar area is small but they have a big dance floor and plenty of high tables for sitting. This place is good for live music and there's plenty of parking around the area. I'd definitely come back to check out some of their live shows or for Karaoke in the future. read more

The DJs suck and cant mix, the music is barely louder then my alarm clock, and you have to stand in line for 20-30 mins to get a drink. Poor bar management. Stopped in on Thursday night for karaoke. The KJ Melissa was super friendly and fun . I had a great time with my friends here, I will most definitely be coming back.
