Chicken Kebab Plate
Kaylee P.

The BEST Mediterranean food! One of my favorite places to eat period. I could drink the toum I cannot get enough of that stuff. Salad is fresh and flavorful, hummus is unreal, and chicken is juicy. Service is straight to the point but it's not a place I would go for fine dining, it's casual and delicious. That's all I need. Listen to me when I say you NEED to try Janet's!

I live and also work near a ton of Mediterranean food so it's tough competition in my book, but I appreciate that this is clearly a family run business trying to bring something different to Duarte. The service was very fast, there is nice seating inside of the restaurant which is enough to fit several large groups. I personally wasn't blown away by the food, but I would definitely be open to trying other dishes! Sometimes it's just a matter of what you ordered. The gentleman were very nice and there is a parking lot which is always a plus!

Chicken and Beef Combo rating 6.5/10 Aesthetically pleasing but on the drier side for my taste :(

Janet's Mediterranean Duarte, CA Date went 5/6/26 Time went 10:37am it didn't appear to be too busy Establishment Clean and had ample table seating for in house eating; I ordered at the touch screen kiosk placed right in front of the entry when you enter. Staff weren't present at the counter when I arrived, but greeted me when they came out to bring somebody's else's food to the dining area. Ordered food at 10:38am Got my food at 10:43am 5 minute wait time, quite possibly the quickest wait time I've seen at an establishment Food ordered Chicken and Beef Combo $24.49 With taxes grand total was $27.06 Food ratings Chicken and Beef Combo - 6.5/10 I was so sadden by the amount I spent for this combo. While the chicken and beef looked aesthetically pleasing the texture was a little bit on the drier side for my taste. The rice was good. The salad looked sad and not appetizing, I didn't even eat it and I HATE wasting food. My pita bread came inside a "PITA DOUX" package; as if it was purchased from a store and left in the bag it was purchased from. I essentially paid $27 for 5 pieces of beef and 6 pieces of chicken and some rice :( I won't be coming here again.

Food 4/5 (considering cost and quality), +1/5 for service Workers were incredibly respectful and made sure that our order was both correct and that we got everything we needed. Ordered the combo plate, and felt that the protein portions were not sufficient for the cost, but taste-wise everything was great. The beef was very tender and cooked to perfection with great flavor, but the chicken was on the drier side (would reccomend the beef!). Can't recall the name, but it was one of the appetizers and had beef inside it (pictured--4 ct). Savory, fresh, warm, and packed with flavor, I would describe as not crunchy but really good as the meat is reminiscent of kabob meat. Would also get again!

Service is fast and great!! Okay, now for the food review... Food is clean, tasty (not overwhelming), and fresh!! I would like to consider myself a huge advocate for Mediterranean food and this place is pretty good! I got a chicken shawarma plate. Comes with their halal chicken, basmati rice, hummus (I think it's made in house), and a green salad with their tangy, citrus, vinegar sauce. The chicken and rice is very moist. I'd definitely consider this place my go to, especially because I've moved away from where my previous go to place was (chicken maison). Different types of Mediterranean food, but still very good! I added a home made spicy lemon garlic sauce to dip and eat with (knock off of chicken maisons sauce)

Janet's Mediterranean Cuisine. I'm going to try their Baklava. My favorite dessert! Wow! Freshly baked! Great customer service. Love the atmosphere here. The restrooms are clean.... That's important to me. Lol I got hungry even after I ate the Baklava! Lol So I ordered the Chicken Kebab plate. Wow! Everything is so Delicious!! Fresh and flavorful! Come check this out!

My fault for coming on a Sunday 11 min before closing but I ordered and then was advised they had no rice. I was allowed to add a substitute (free of charge) so I got tabbouleh with the combo for 1. For a price of $30.38 I'm really upset there's no rice lol I was really craving Mediterranean food. It was on my way home but I can go without rice I guess anywhooo the food was delicious I love that they give the garlic paste and the salad was sooo good! I will definitely be back if I am in the area!

This place was a hidden gem in Duarte, they give plenty of Mediterranean food. It's enough for sharing, we ordered a chicken and beef kabobs. The meat was moist and tender. Which was the highlight of it all. You can't go wrong eating great food in this place. The only down fall is I wish they had drink fountains. Nothing but a nice cup with ice and a drink. But unfortunately it's either can soda or bottles. The service was slow at getting us our extra sides and dessert along with napkins.

I would've given this place five stars if it weren't for their questionable policy about not allowing customers to eat in the dining area. I arrived close to 7 p.m., and by the time I ordered, it was maybe a few minutes past. Since they close at 8, I figured I had plenty of time to sit and enjoy my meal. However, after placing my order, I was told the dining room was closed and I wouldn't be allowed to dine in. What made it more frustrating was that there was a couple already sitting in the dining area who were served their food around the same time I got mine. So if I'd been allowed to sit, I would've finished eating around the same time as they did. Strange rules aside, the food was really good. Everything tasted fresh, and the hummus is sooo much better than anything you'd buy at the store.

Very authentic Mediterranean spot! I had the falafel plate and a side of dolmas. The dolmas had an interesting tomato twist that I wasn't the biggest fan of but I respect it (to be fair I have no idea the traditional recipes this comment is purely based on my personal experience). I would like if they had more plant based protein options and the service left more to be desired however I recognize it was a "dead time" possibly in between shifts. Regardless, I will be going back and for sure recommend if you're in the area.

This is by far the best Mediterranean food I've had -- and I'm super picky when it comes to Mediterranean cuisine, so that says a lot! I went in with my brother during lunchtime. I ordered the Chicken Kebab plate and he got the Chicken and Beef Kebab combo. The portions were generous -- we even had leftovers to take home. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We dined in, and the service was great. The lady who took our order was friendly and even brought the food to our table when it was ready. They offer a good variety of bottled drinks, including some in glass bottles, which is a nice touch. The space is clean and comfortable with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They had sports on the TV while we were there, which added to the relaxed vibe. My only regret? Not getting the baklava! It looked amazing, but I was too full. Next time, I'm definitely grabbing some to-go.

So good!

Mediterranean food is hard to find in the heart of the SGV. As I'm in this area, I had to take advantage of it and go to a Mediterranean restaurant. Food: I'm on a low carb diet and this lunch completely ruined my diet. I ordered the chicken lule plate and everything on the plate was so good...My first taste was the garlic dip with pita which set the tone for the meal. The dip had huge strong flavors. The hummas was also packed with flavor and very smooth. Salad was well dressed and plentiful. The chicken lule was moist and packed with flavor. The drippings was captured by a bed of rice to complete the meal. Service: Order at the counter and food brought to you. Casual dining. If you need hand holding type of service, this is not the place for you. Environment: Parking is plentiful. The seating area is kind of weird as it is next door to the actual order area. If you're yearning for more Mediterranean stuff, there is even a market next door. Price: Not bad for the type and amount of food you get. Food: 5 Service: 4 Environment: 4 Price: 5

When I left, the tables got packed. I tried the platter for two, which came with a load of delicious rice, three proteins, roasted tomatoes and peppers. I enjoyed pairing it with their tahini and garlic sauces. The service and hospitality were amazing. Shout out to Ari, she is the best and really made my dining experience seamless. From recommendations, to check-ins, to bringing sauces for my table to try, it felt personable. The interior is perfect for families, dates, and catching up. It's casual but feels elevated. The food is delicious and the prices are appropriate given the portion sizes. Service was prompt and professional. Parking might be a challenge, though there are public lots within a block or two. We went on a Friday night and encountered heavy traffic from the local farmer's market/fair. The best item was the Beef kabob, 5 out of 5 stars. It was perfectly cooked, a very simply salt and pepper seasoning, juicy and simply divine! We got the kids meal, which came with only 4 pieces, and I'd be interested to return for the full adult portion. Also a 5-star experience was the Fried cauliflower appetizer. It had just the right amount of crispiness, without any blackening, and the garlic/parsley/lemon juice combo worked well. The juice was sucked into all the crevices, and overall it was light. I think I could have eaten two portions myself and called it a satisfying meal. I did dip in some tzatziki, which worked great too! Lastly the Chicken shawarma was a 4-star dish. Still delicious and I'd get it again, but it was slightly salty from the marinade and added sauce. I was expecting this to be wrapped up, but it was more an open-face naan with the chicken covering the top. Rice pilaf was savory, I'd rather not know just how many calories are included, the rice was still moist even after reheating the next day.

The place is pretty small and hard to navigate around the seating. The best and our favorite of the three wraps was the tongue wrap. This was seriously outstanding and one of the best I've had. It was juicy, lemony, cooked well and flavorful. After that, things went downhill. The vegetable wrap was greasy, almost slimey, and falling apart. The vegetables were all soggy and there wasn't much flavor. The chicken shawarma panini was the biggest disappointment. This was so salty and had a bad taste like the chicken was rancid. It was dry and just not good at all. On the way out we spoke to the owner and mentioned how salty it was, to which he said he knows about it and people complain about it often. So why isn't there a change? Sadly not a place I would return to
