I have had Pitas To Go bookmarked for a while. I finally stopped by since I was passing by the restaurant. The old gentleman who was there, was doing an excellent job of running the business. I placed an order of two Lula kabob plates and one side of babaganoush. The Lula Kabob Plate included rice, fresh green salad, hummus, turnip pickles and pita bread. The Lula kabob was fresh, well seasoned, juicy and delightful. The Hummus was very creamy. Babaganoush was one of the best I had tried. It took around fifteen minutes to receive my order which was convenient. The restaurant was clean. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. There is ample parking. Little hidden gem on arrow highway in Irwindale. Inside looks older and a little run down but the food and service makes up for it. The Lula kabob was juicy and the rice and hummus was excellent. I ordered a chicken pita. Large size stuffed with chicken, greens, onions and sauce. I ordered a side of hummus and pita chips. The hummus is tasty. I added it to the pita. I also added a bit of siracha which the worker included on the side. The chips appeared as they were made there with a tasty seasoning. I ate 1/2 of the pita because it was filling! I really enjoyed the flavors and the soft pita! All of it was delicious. I went toward the closing time so nobody was in there but there is clean seating and tables. There was an elderly gentleman. Kind and welcoming. He assembled the food and gave the touch of being served by a family elder. I will be back and glad I tried it. I used to come here for Mediterranean food back in 2013-2015 when I held a job in the area so this is a review that is long overdue. This place used to be kind of lively and was staffed by couple people, I don't know what happened but it is now run by an older gentleman. He limbs and walk slow but somehow managed to keep the place running. The lamb chops is just as good as I remembered, while it didn't have the same atmosphere as before I will definitely come back. read more

This restaurant is was the best mediterranean food I have ever eaten before. Me and my family got the beef kebab, falafel, combination, and fish fillet. The beef kebab was very tender. It also had a really nice flavor to it. The falafel was very crispy. The chicken was also really fresh. The fish fillet is also very good and tender. The customer service was great. I'd like to start this review by sharing that I'm not someone who has a picky palette and I've had Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food for over a decade. Today I ordered a falafel plate that comes with rice, salad and hummus. The falafel is complete mush, the salad was wilted and sour and the hummus was runny as if it had been sitting out at room temperature. The man who welcomed me and charged me was very nice and smiled kindly. I rate his service 10/10 but the food is by far the worst plate I've ever had. The pita was beyond greasy and that salad was mediocre. No dressing were provided. For 32 dollars I expected way better quality. Now for the service. There was a guy preparing some plates with gloves on behind the counter. He barely acknowledged me and when he did, he came to cashier. He NEVER took off his gloves during our transaction. I'd give this place a solid 3.5 stars. I just stopped by because I was in the area and needed to get some lunch. I think if you live or work nearby, this is a solid spot for Mediterranean food but it's not something I would come out of my way for. I got the chicken and lula plate and they both came with rice, salad, hummus, and pita bread. They have a special right now for 1 chicken kabob plate for $9. Although it seems like a good deal, why not just pay an additional $3 for more chicken? The chicken was tender and juicy and had a nice char flavor. I recommend that over the lula plate. The meat in the lula was ok. It was very bouncy in texture and I wasn't a huge fan of that and the flavor. I would stick to the chicken. The chicken plate also comes with garlic spread otherwise you have to spend .50 for additional garlic in those small cups. The person who took my order was very nice and gave us an additional garlic sauce on the house. I love garlic spread and anything garlic but I did not love this. It just tasted funky to me and had a sour taste. Maybe it was going bad but I'm glad I didn't have to pay extra for something I didn't like. read more

I found the place on yelp and wanted to give it a shot. Got 2 meals to go which set me back $24. The combo was beef and chicken with choice of white or brown rice. The meal itself was good but could've been more flavorful. The hummus was a bid insipid, maybe a dash of lemon and more tahini could help it come back to life. The shawarma plate was okay too, both meals were filling but not as satisfying as I expected. Everything done fresh upon order. I ordered two meals to go, but they only gave me one garlic sauce. I feel like I should've been given two given one meal could've been for someone else and sharing garlic sauce isn't the best idea. Overall the sauce isn't too garlicky so either use more or use your own. Parking was extremely easy, the plaza is pretty empty since the pandemic began. Food was good given the area but for great Mediterranean fare, gotta go west of LA. read more

I was super excited to try this place. The last time I had a Falafel was in Florida. I was sadly disappointed. The man who took my order is not the nicest. Right there I should have gone to another place. But I decided to give it a try. I called and asked if he could put my salad on the side because I was going to be driving a while and did not want my salad to get all warm next to the hot food. He said "no we don't do that here." " I'll put the sauce on the side but not salad. " ... wow. I would have paid for a container.. if that was the problem.. I let it go. He asked me if I wanted white rice or yellow and I said yellow. He gave me bulgar.. I do not like that. Bad start. I was hoping the food would make up for it. It did not. Falafel was super salty. Hummus was okay. Salad was warm ... but it was delicious. Finally tried this place for the first time; we've been wanting to come here before but it was always closed. My husband ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken breast & I ordered the chicken & beef combo plate with rice & baba ghanoush. It came to $40.27; I had only $37 in cash & was going to pay the rest with my card but the guy that took our order, said as I pulled out my card, "That's ok", & he only accepted $37 in cash as full payment. That was EXTREMELY nice of him; found out later from the female employee that his name is Shaunt (not sure if that's the correct spelling) & he's one of the owners, along with his brother. Pretty cool We ate our food there; it was a small, kinda dark place. The front door was wide open & there was no A/C on but I noticed that they had a floor fan & a couple of wall A/C units in the restaurant. I don't know if they were working or not. The tables & chairs were clean & so was the front part of the restaurant. The food took a little time being prepared but not too long; at least it was fresh & hot! And the food was delicious, fresh & hot. We didn't have any leftovers, but it was a nice amount of food. I really enjoyed eating here! We would definitely try this place again. read more

I came in as my usual - judging books by their cover, ya know. But, damn. I have to say this place is super delicious!! I had the Greek salad & added grilled chicken, in the large size. The salad was huge, my friends. Huge. I also, a-la-me style, ordered way more dishes than I could possibly eat, so that I could get a good range of tastings, since I was new to the joint. I had the Tzatziki...delicious. I also had a lentil soup, that I barely touched and is still sitting in my fridge as we speak. Anyway, I loved it, except for the small noodles they added & I'm watching my carbs. But aside from that first-world problem, it was really delicious too. So, damn. My cynicism was put to shame once more. But it won't stop me.
