I got an intro to this place from one of the Yelp events I attended and no regrets. We sat at the bar for the US v Paraguay game. We were attended to immediately. I ordered 2 beers while there. Screens were playing the game. Servers were constantly checking in with us. Food looked great but I'll have to try it out on my next visit. Prices reasonable. Would definitely return! read more

Fútbol fever is in full force and my friend, who loves in the area, suggested we come here to watch a match. I was skeptical at first but it turns out this was the perfect place. This Mediterranean eatery offers fast casual dining in a sophisticated environment. The décor is charming, the marble bar is beautiful, and the staff are friendly. There are a few T.V.s inside and another in the cozy covered back patio. My friend and I ordered drinks at the bar. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We told him we'd be sitting in the patio so he put our beverages in a to-go cups, which reminded me of New Orleans. I ordered the Busy Bee - a tasty riff on a Bees Knees. My friend got a Modelo on draft. We also ordered Hummus & Cucumber Yogurt dip to share. Both dips came with freshly baked pita. Everything was delicious and the staff were all very nice. I wish I lived closer because I'd come here on a regular basis. (Apparently, it's the spot for Dodgers games too.) Good- food Bad- service. My friend and I went there for lunch . When we walked in , there were only 2 people at the bar area and 2 servers who did not even bother to greet us even though they both look when we walked in. We waited for a while to be seated. It took forever to serve our food. I understand if it was a busy day but it was not. Again, It was just us and the 2 other at the bar. I was satisfied with my order but, based on their slow and unwelcoming environment I don't think I will be coming back. Tasteful food and warm service goes hand and hand. read more

We were looking for Mediterranean food in Azusa and found this restaurant in downtown. The menu has a good variety. We got chicken and beef lule. The plate was big enough for us to share. It comes with rice or salad or a mix of both. We added on a lentil soup too. So yummy! What makes this restaurant so FUN is the commitment to the Dodgers. At the front door are cardboard cutouts of some of the players advertising beer. AND, every TV was set to the game when the game was on. People at the bar, the booths, and the tables were cheering... on a weeknight for a regular season game. We loved it! Parking on the street but more hopeful in the back. read more

Friend & I went after shopping, as I raved about their vegan beef Lule. It was about 1:30pm after lunch rush. Our server, we found out was the manager, she apologized for being out of the vegan Lule. She did suggest the falafel instead. My friend loves babaganoush, which we found out, the chef just made. She got a Greek salad- no cheese, added falafel. The manager was making sure everyone was helped - as she was waiting tables, server, and drinks. Luckily we were in no hurry. Food: the roasted eggplant is incredible and star of our lunch. Smoky, spicy, delicious. Falafel was light, crispy outside, tender inside. My grilled squash, zucchini, & onions were perfect cooked al dente. Yum! First time trying Lemon Zest on a Sunday evening after church and boy did it hit! The ambiance was aesthetically pleasing, and our server, Jerica was so nice. We ordered the chicken combo and beef combo, along with a trio of starters: baba ganoush, yogurt, and hummus, and we can't forget the amazing garlic sauce! Both the chicken and beef lule kabobs were perfectly seasoned. The beef kabob was juicy and cooked just right. The rice didn't seem the freshest, but it was still tasty. The two combos plus the starters were perfect for our party of 3. We're definitely adding Lemon Zest to our Sunday dinner rotation. read more

I've been on a Mediterranean kick lately and I finally decided to dine at this restaurant. The restaurant is located in downtown Azusa and the ambiance is super cute. It's clean, the bar is beautiful and they also have 2 tvs for game nights. We were seated and given menus right away. Our waitress was the only server and she handled everything pretty well once service started to pick up. To start, I ordered the hummus with pita bread for the table. Their hummus is the best I've ever had! It's fresh, flavorful and the pita bread was warm and seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend the hummus! I ordered the Chipotle Chicken wrap which was delicious. It's served with fries or salad and I chose the fries. The fries were fresh and hit with the perfect amount of salt. My son ordered the Chipotle loaded fries and added chicken for protein. He loved his entree! My mother ordered the Kabob plate with beef and chicken which is paired with salad and rice. She said the chicken was very tender and delicious. I wasn't expecting me to love this place but, I do and it's my new favorite Mediterranean restaurant. Charming and cozy, a very nice feeling as you walk in. Good Feng Shui. Welcoming feel and decorated just perfectly with small touches to make you feel comfortable with a relaxed familiar feel, just like when you've visiting family. I have been to this establishment several times just for drinks. This time I had the opportunity to try there food. I had their gyro with lamb. It was tasty, seasoned to perfection and the tzaziki sauce was fire. The service is always impeccable and Rai is always a joy. The live band was the topping on the sundae. read more

Came here for a quick after-work bite, but unfortunately it wasn't very quick. It took a while for the waitress to come and take our order, and took foreverrr for the food to come out even though there was only one other table being served. So maybe don't come here if you're in a rush. I appreciate the freshly made food, it was delicious nevertheless. I'm in LOVE with the Greek salad. Just thinking about it makes me salivate. Top notch! We had a small grad gathering last week, and everything was excellent. The food was delicious, including appetizers: hummus & pita, tzatziki, & dolmades. Kebab plates (both meat & shrimp) were enjoyed, as well as many gyros. Food was brought to the large table at practically the same time! Our server was attentive and respectful, and the staff goes out of their way for customers. The surroundings are casual and beautiful, with a light and bright feeling. I was walking round and stumbled upon this place. One server at 12 noon on a Thursday is "no bueno." Another server came in, looked at me just sitting there and said: "I'm gonna clock in" then I'll come back. The first server who saw me sitting there didn't even ask me if I wanted water. So, server clocks in, I order a beer and ask to see menu. I wasn't hungry but in talking to the server I convinced myself to order some food. 33 minutes later, on my second beer, I asked the same server who took my food order; "where's my food?" The server looked puzzled. Yes, she forgot to put in my order. Quite apologetic, she seemed embarrassed. I cancelled the food order. I had finished my second beer. It's a pretty spot. The patio seems nice. Super clean. But, "NO," I wouldn't recommend a place where the server is so distracted that forgets to put in the food order. It's just bad customer service. Clean and modern new restaurant, I really liked the interior design, and the staff was nice. The salmon wrap was okay, but the vegan beef lule kabob was so good! I think it's pretty comparable to the non-vegan kebobs I've had, and maybe even better than others, since a lot of times they're dry. This one was juicy and full of flavor. We were really disappointed with our experience at Lemon Zest Cafe this morning. My fiancé and I came in for lunch and the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. A waitress brought us waters and a kombucha, asked if we were ready to order, and we asked for just a minute. Shortly after, four people came in and sat at the bar. The waitress then focused entirely on them, including being on the phone getting instructions on how to make their drinks. During this time, we were completely ignored. No check-in, no acknowledgment -- nothing. After waiting about 25 minutes without being able to place an order, my fiancé understandably got frustrated and walked out. I let the waitress know we were leaving because of the wait. There was no apology or concern, and she simply asked me to pay for the kombucha, which I did. In total, we wasted about 40 minutes and never even got the chance to order food. What was most upsetting wasn't just the wait, but the lack of customer service and complete indifference from the waitress. We were genuinely excited to try this place after it was recommended to us, but unfortunately, we won't be returning. Horrible customer service and no remorse whatsoever. read more

Visited Sierra Madre the other day and came here to have an early dinner (around 5 PM). The place is so cute and very well decorated, and the staff is beyond welcoming and kind. The service was truly 10/10. The food was tastsy but my -1 star was due to my overcooked beef kabob. I order the beef kabob plate and was really surprised that I was not asked how I'd like my meat cooked. It was quite well done for my liking which took away from the experience. The chicken was so tender and moist lamb was bomb. salad and basmat rice all freshly made. Pita bread the freshest we've ever had.Humus had great spices mixed in making it very flavorful.Great atmosphere to dine as couples or in groups. Nice patio in back for outdoor dining too. We've always enjoyed Lemon Zest Café in Sierra Madre, so we were excited to try the Azusa location yesterday (August 21). Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. We arrived at 7:20 p.m., well before their posted closing time of 9:00 p.m. (which is what both their signs and website still show). Instead, the doors were locked. There was one employee inside cleaning, who looked right at us but never bothered to come over or explain why they were closed early. It came across as very rude and extremely unprofessional. If they're going to close two hours earlier than advertised, they should update their hours or at the very least communicate with customers who show up. Sadly, this experience left us questioning if we'll ever return to this location. read more

A excellent blues band had the indoor dining area entertained will we waited for our food. I'll get right to it, this place is gooood. The chicken and salmon kabob had tons a flavor and tasted fresh. Drinks were made to order and the bartender will come to your table to discuss your options. I can't wait to come back try something different off the menu. Love this place! I'm an Azusa resident and love Mediterranean food! I kept saying to myself, I wish there was a local spot I can go to instead of going to other cities. This place really is a gem! The food and workers are always spectacular! The ambiance is so nice which I love! Price point is also good for the great portions. They make great drinks and have an open bar as well! The only thing that I have noticed is that the food takes a while to come out. I still gave it a 5star because I see so much potential and hope this place gets the hype it deserves! I attached some pictures of the drinks and appetizers but got too excited and forgot the main meal! haha! The salad is always fresh, the rice is great and the chicken is always always juicy flavorful and hot! 10/10 for food. If you don't have gum or a toothbrush with you, you should really just enjoy it at home. The strong raw garlic taste lingers in the mouth for a while. I had the mediterran salad, it was refreshing and the olive was a great touch. The restaurant is furnished with booths and free-standing tables to accommodate larger parties. It also has a fashionable bar counter. It was a work lunch so I will definitely be back to try the lemon drop which was highly recommended by our server who shared that they pour in 2 ounces of alcohol per serving and its only $12 . A nice Mediterranean restaurant in the area. They have an outdoor patio dining in the back which is beautifully lit with lights. I was told they have live music out there as well sometimes! The staff are super nice and you can also order online. I signed up for the text messages and I receive a lot of offers for free item or discounts. I like getting the kabob wraps.
