We stopped in to grab dinner takeout and the owner (gentleman working) was incredibly nice and welcoming. It was our first time in and the food was incredible. I had the steak kabab plate with French fries instead of rice (I'm a sucker for French fries). The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and the flavor was sooo good - idk if they have a special ingredient or if it's the quality of the ingredients but I literally can't stop thinking about the steak, garlic paste, and the French fries. Not to mention how welcoming and friendly the owner was, I felt like family. My only regret is that we hadn't tried them sooner, we'll definitely be back! First of all I want to thank Jack! The most friendliest welcoming restaurant owner I have ever encountered, even treating me with a free cookie at the end free of charge! Im not from the area and stopped into San Dimas today and wanted to try a restaurant in the area. I really wanted some authentic Mediterranean food and boy did I get it! Owners of this restaurant are amazingly nice. This is a family ran restaurant and the food literally tastes unlike anything Mediterranean I've ever tried. Everything is homemade and absolutely delicious! Portions are generous as well We tried and absolutely loved the beef shawarma, rice, hummus, tabouli, grape leaves and cookies. If I'm ever in the area again I will absolutely be coming here again! read more

This is our third or maybe 4th time here and compared to other Mediterranean restaurants, their food here are freshly cooked and delicious. I had their tender lamb chops again and it never disappoints with the babaganoush paste. Jack and his staff are nice and kind people, very attentive and will joke around at times. The prices went up a little but it's still worth it, in my opinion. There are 3 tables good for two or 3 and another table good for 4. Additional 2 tables are outside. Sorry I didn't see any restrooms inside and I guess they don't serve alcohol. But they do catering and we tried them once for a birthday. Honestly, the food were all gone at the party. Lots of parking and other small businesses around. I would come back again, but don't be discouraged with the prices, it's everywhere! read more

What I had: - Beef kabob plate ($14.99) - Chicken kabob plate ($12.99) - Falafel plate ($12.99) - Two item combo ($22.99) How it tasted: - Most of the food is stellar; everything was well-seasoned and delicious. Might not be a giant fan of falafel, but the rest of absolutely splendid. Why did I give it a five? - Very friendly owner and I appreciate his nice comments every visit. Press , I don't as going for an iPhone repair and stumbled on this humble place. I ordered the simplest on the menu, Beef Shawarma on falafel. That's my baseline, if Jack can't make it work then I have to fix but boy oh boy this man DELIVERED!!!! Eating in my car, at an industrial zone parking lot reminiscing the years I'd spent in GCC (iykyk) ... well done and worth the shoutout. Go give this man a raise!!!! read more

Tried this establishment for lunch takeout and the chicken kabab plate ($12 plus tax) was super delicious, a filling portion. The marinated chicken was moist, flavorful, and tender. The hummus, rice, and salad were all great, too. The plate comes with a piece of pita bread. I do wish it came with those marinated pickles that's sometimes served with these plates. Minus 1 star because I think I got overcharged for a can of soda, at least $3 or $3.50. I'm looking at an old menu photo on this Yelp page and it said $1.25 price for soda. Even though that photo was taken over a year ago, yeah I most definitely got overcharged for a can of soda. This establishment should put up a sign or add to their hanging menu board drink prices, that would be helpful and wouldn't be false advertising or seem like a pretense for deceptive pricing. There is a couple small tables inside for people who aren't doing takeout. The ambience is average noise level but it was quite stuffy and got too warm sitting inside waiting for our food. So, I would suggest takeout preferably. The owner (who also cooked our food fresh) was nice and provided friendly customer service. Recommended lunch spot for fresh Mediterranean food. I don't recommend buying soda here unless they have an upfront price showing on the menu. read more

If you live in the San Dimas area and have not tried this hidden gem, you're missing out. I ordered a large family meal that serves eight for a small party and the food was beyond excellent. Prices were reasonable, and they serve everything that you would expect. The kebab was tender and flavorful, the hummus creamy and delicious. The baklava was buttery, flaky and melted in my mouth. I cannot recommend this place enough. Also, when I picked up my food, the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. The dinner went straight to my table ready to go. read more

This was a lovely surprise. We were looking for a restaurant to stop and get dinner at while we waited for the eastbound traffic to ease up a bit. We are so glad we stopped in at JF Mediterranean. A regular was getting lamb chops and told us they were the best in the country. We ordered the lamb chop plate and the combination plate. The lamb chops were absolutely delicious! They were tender and juicy and filled with flavor, as were the beef and chicken kabobs. This is a little family owned business and the owner's pride in his restaurant is evident. We ate there but there seemed to be several regulars popping in to pick up takeout. I didn't take pictures because I wasn't expecting dinner to be that tasty. I'll take pictures next time. Sometimes you walk into a restaurant based on a simple craving and what you get in return is authentic food made with love and passion for cuisine. JF Mediterranean made us feel at home and truly like we were eating a meal prepared by family. The moment I took my first bite, it was over and, in what seemed like just a minute, I was staring at an empty tray (secretly wishing for just a few more last bites). I love finding neighborhood, Mediterranean grills. I ordered my meal and the first question I asked was does it come with onions? He said no I said OK well to my surprise when I got there to pick up my order, he had grilled some onions for me. I thought that was so above and beyond nice for the owner to do. The food was delicious and you can tell it was made from love. I'm sure he'll be able to recognize me when I call and request grilled onions with my chicken kebab. We got our party catered by JF Mediterranean and everyone kept asking where we ordered the food from. I even had people asking if they can take leftovers home! The owner of this restaurant was so sweet and kind and asked my Husband how he heard about it and that he would call on Monday to see if quality and taste of the food was good. He stuck to his word and on Monday we got a call checking in just like he told us! I highly recommend this little gem, you won't be disappointed! read more

I'd voted for Kebab G Stop's Kebab Combo Plate, which cones with a stalk apiece of chicken and beef kebabs, fluffy saffron hued rice, a heaping slab of unctuous garlic sauce called TOUM and grilled vegetables. The caliber of the food was good. The chicken cutlets were exquisitely grilled, redolent of the yogurt based sauce they surely pre-marinated the white meat chicken in. I understand that businesses can occasionally run low on change, but this was extremely inconvenient. I was short on time, hungry, had more than enough money to pay for my food, and still almost had to leave without my order because the establishment couldn't accept my cash payment. What made the experience more disappointing was when I asked the cashier for a phone number or someone I could contact to share my experience and provide feedback. I was told she didn't know of any number and wasn't given another way to contact a manager or someone in charge. I ended up making several calls myself to find someone who could send me money digitally. Eventually I was able to get the money sent to me and pay for my order, but I shouldn't have had to go through all of that just to pay for a $25 meal when I was standing there with cash in hand. I'm not leaving this review because I expect every business to always have unlimited change. I'm leaving it because I think a restaurant should be prepared to accept normal cash transactions or, at minimum, have a reasonable solution when they can't. And when a customer asks how they can provide feedback about their experience, there should be a way to direct them to management. It turned what should have been a quick food stop into an unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming experience. I wish i could post a positive review on the food, but that definitely ruined my experience.

Suitably armed with 40-pls yrs of dining experience amid the vast Syrian/Lebanese diaspora, what's a common complaint that grouchy naysayers may wanna level at Mediterranean fare? "Ohh, but all they serve are chicken/beef shawarma, falafel balls and lamb gyros! Not enough varieties of protein!!" [I've fielded this complaint from my grown kids for a few years now] Well- Leave it to your enterprising and innovative Uncle Omar to solve that complaint!!! These new brisket wraps are a wondrous hybrid of Mediterranean housing (the flaky but firm Shrek wrap) and All American (B-R-I-S-K-E-T!!) filling. The caliber of the brisket is top notch. Pull apart tendrils of low and slow cooked beef, sumptuously moist but not overly wet. Well seasoned but not deluged in 'cue sauce that obscures the unctuous beefy flavor... Commingle the brisket, lovingly slow cooked for sixteen hours, with diced onions, succulent tomatoes, Persian pickles and their strong-as-a-Rocky-Balboa haymaker garlic sauce...and you've got yourself a crave-worthy, eminently edible new addition to the Family! The ambiance at Abu Omar remains nonpareil. Today we visited the Diplomat Jr. in Glendora and it was not the quite the "upscale" Mediterranean dining advertised, but quite the contrary this time. From the fruit flies & black fly constantly buzzing around our table and landing in our food, to the lack of standard Mediterranean type accoutrements omitted from our meal. The chicken was seasoned and flavorful, but somewhat undercooked. The typical Mediterranean saffron rice was now replaced with plain [bland] rice pilaf, and no hummus or garlic is included with your "Mediterranean" meal. You must pay $10 extra for hummus, and $4 extra for a 2oz disposable container of garlic; a total $14.00 extra for condiments. But you do receive a large Mexican chile and cooked tomato, (to which i personally did not eat because i avoid highly acidic foods.) I would recommend to the Restaurant owners to keep the front door shut (especially when it's 92° out), or install a fan over the front door so that flying insects can't get in, annoy customers & contaminate the food. I would also recommend serving a traditional saffron rice since it is a "Mediterranean" restaurant. Additionally, the hummus was horribly boring and could've used a little garlic added for a little flavor, or garlic, infused olive oil blended it when making it. Garbanzo beans by themselves are boring and flat in flavor. The service was lacking, as our waitress slow or MIA most of the time & in fact at one point we had to leave our table & go find her in the bar as she was helping the bartender with no customers present.
