    Chicken Kabob
    Mike P.

this is some of the best authentic Mediterranean food in Glendora. I ordered the beef shawarma and chicken kabob plate with seasoned rice, fresh Mediterranean salad, warm pita bread, and their garlic sauce and hummus. Everything was bomb, flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The beef shawarma was tender and packed flavor, the chicken kabob was juicy with the perfect char, and the garlic sauce took everything to another level. What impressed me just as much as the food was the service. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of their customers. We need to do a better job supporting small businesses like this. Get out of your routine, skip the chains for a night, and go experience some of the best authentic Mediterranean food Glendora has to offer. Thank me later. #GlendoraEats #SupportLocal #MediterraneanFood #BeefShawarma

OPEN UNTIL 11PM!!! If you come home late and don't know what to do but also don't want to get in n out or some fast food... THIS IS THE SPOT! The employee (owner maybe?) who helped us explained thoroughly about the menu and gave us suggestions. We ended up getting chicken shawarma combo and beef shawarma combo because we were hungry but the portion is humongous!!! This place has a shred style of meat (like al pastor in taco stand) and that's what I got but they should have the grilled meat on a sword looking stainless tool. The beef had the slight lamb-ish flavor which I like and the garlic spread wasn't too strong so I could smother everywhere. The salad was also very very good. I want to learn how to make the dressing. It was insanely good. The restaurant has a small eat in space. 3-4 two persons tables. We took our foods home but if you were to eat inside your food will be served on a wooden tray. I'll be coming back for their Borek and sandwich.

Waited for almost 20 minutes in line to place order (only 3 in front of us) receipt 6:26 PM, did not get food until 7:23pm, 57 minutes.

TLDR: 57 minutes from order to actually getting food, kabobs were completely overdone, order was forgotten and 3 orders after us already picked up. Couple ordered right before us finished eating and left before we even saw them working on our order. We have been coming to Damascquino for a few years now. As they have been one of the few places that opened late to midnight since COVID. I've been here enough times to have tried everything on their menu including all versions of their fries, broasted chicken mean, all the skewer and sides and have never been disappointed...until this last trip. We arrived around 6pm right around dinner service so obviously some wait is expected. There was 3 others that was in front of in line placing their orders. The person manning the counter seems to be newer and unfamiliar, we have never seen him before. It took around 20 minutes for him to take the 3 sets of orders in front of us and ours as well. At this point we got our receipt 6:26pm. Dinner service so we expect about 30 minutes of waiting or so, had a chat with one other person that was waiting for his order. Then starting to see one after another get their order. 3 more come in to place their order after us. The couple that ordered right before us is eating in and sat down at one of the tables inside. They get their order of 2 sandwiches and starts eating. Normally this place starts scooping the rice and sides for the next order to be fulfilled as those are prepared in advance, so as soon as the kabobs are done they can finish packing up and complete the order. We see multiple boxes on the counter waiting for the meat so we expect they were working on our order. The order behind us picks up their order. The next one after picked up their order. The 2 ladies that ordered last sat down and was served ....and no boxes were on the the counter indicating they were working on another order. At this point we are about 40 minutes in, so we walk in asking about ours. The guy turns at looks at the grill, then just says 15 minutes. Once we turned around he then starts to put our sides together completely forgetting our order. At this point we are 45 minutes in waiting, and it had better be the best kabobs we ever had. Finally they call us. 7:23pm. 57 minutes since we were rung up. On top of the lining up we are now about 80 minutes since we arrived. We are obviously frustrated but hey since they didn't have any more orders to work on our kabobs should be perfectly grilled right? COMPLETELY OVERCOOKED. It was chewy, dry, and any resemblance of flavor has been cooked to crap. And they just had the excuse of sorry it was dinner time we were busy, treating as if we are idiots and can't obviously tell they forgot our order. Unfortunately I doubt we will be returning again. For the staff: it's ok if it took a while during dinner service. We get it. It's ok if our order slipped thru the cracks. It happens. But what is absolutely not acceptable is lying about it AND completely screw the cooking up considering you have no more active orders besides ours. We would have been okay if you acknowledged the error and cooked our kabobs to perfection, maybe offer us a drink for the wait time as it barely costs you anything. You see 2 guys standing right outside of your store and have completely zero awareness of MAYBE we might still be waiting for our order?

Ordered half tray of their Tabouleh and was delicious! We will be coming back here for sure and try the other items. The new owners are so sweet! It's a small family business that really care about their customers.

Visited here after visiting a nearby thrift store on a Friday night. We were instantly greeted by Hossam, and his warm and inviting smile. This was our first time here as we never really visit this area. The recommendations of the half & half plate was perfect, and exactly what my fiance and I needed after a long Christmas season. The fresh cucumber tomato salad and chicken were the absolute stars of the show. Such incredible flavors packed into each bite. Moreover, the fries were crispy and not overly oils as what tends to happen with longer French fry baskets. Hossam checked in on us throughout our dining experience and really made the quaint space such a warm environment to share a meal in. Highly reccomend!

My hiking buddies, the chef and the best shawarma around!

Stopped by Damasquino's on a whim after a long day of hiking and it hit so good. We had the beef shawarma "sandwich" (get it spicy), that's really a wrap and it was grilled to get it nice and hot. The flavors of the beef and its juices, mixed with the spicy sauce makes my mouth water just writing this. It was so delicious. And the chef was so kind and generous. I'll be back for sure.

I got the chicken shawarma salad, I asked for it separately because I wanted to warm up the chicken later if I didn't finish! It's so good! Very flavorful!Everything I've had here has been great! And great customer service. I will definitely be going back and trying all the other items on the menu!

Half and Half shawarma plate Chicken kabob plate

I got the half and half shawarma plate, and my girlfriend got the chicken kabob plate. Portions were more than enough! The owner was extremely kind and described in detail all of the sauces shown. The sesame sauce along with the beef was my favorite. Will definitely be coming again. Please support local businesses and come try this amazing food!

Lamb and chicken combo plate...enough for 3 people.

Finally had dinner here...perfect for carry out or if you are planning a dinner party. Just three tables inside. I ate dinner inside...as I didn't want to bring home the food and have to share...lol The menu is set for lunch or dinner with great selections from sandwiches to combo meals. I had the chicken and lamb shawarma combo, comes on a huge bed of delicious rice. You add two sides...hummus and salad was my selection. The food is sooooo good! This family run business has that wonderful care environment and desire to please...so much food. I will for sure come back again...I want to try the steak.

Cozy Mediterranean spot. Food was delicious and authentic. Large portions. I tried the chicken shawarma sandwich and it was so good. Their pickles and hot sauces are homemade and very tasty. Service was quick and friendly. We had a great experience.

Disclosure: I've enjoyed Mediterranean cuisine ever since I attended elementary school on the UCLA campus in the early '80s and would get after-school Falafels or Shawarma wraps at the eponymous Falafel King in Westwood Village. Suitably armed with 40-pls yrs of dining experience amid the vast Syrian/Lebanese diaspora, what's a common complaint that grouchy naysayers may wanna level at Mediterranean fare? "Ohh, but all they serve are chicken/beef shawarma, falafel balls and lamb gyros! Not enough varieties of protein!!" [I've fielded this complaint from my grown kids for a few years now] Well- Leave it to your enterprising and innovative Uncle Omar to solve that complaint!!! These new brisket wraps are a wondrous hybrid of Mediterranean housing (the flaky but firm Shrek wrap) and All American (B-R-I-S-K-E-T!!) filling. The caliber of the brisket is top notch. Pull apart tendrils of low and slow cooked beef, sumptuously moist but not overly wet. Well seasoned but not deluged in 'cue sauce that obscures the unctuous beefy flavor... Commingle the brisket, lovingly slow cooked for sixteen hours, with diced onions, succulent tomatoes, Persian pickles and their strong-as-a-Rocky-Balboa haymaker garlic sauce...and you've got yourself a crave-worthy, eminently edible new addition to the Family! The ambiance at Abu Omar remains nonpareil. Luminously clean prep area openly visible so the OCDs among us can see their meal lovingly prepared; Sunburnt burgundy brick walls offset by striking Route 66 imagery; Floors so clean you COULD probably get away w/ the "5 second its still edible" rule we usta summon as kids. The service etiquette of Owner Wissam Shloul and his small but devoted staff is exemplary. Great food, meticulously fabricated while you wait. Pro Tip- Need your Mediterranean fix late at night? Fuggetabout "banker's hours," Abu Omar keeps hospital or casino hours! They're open til 1am, nightly. My meal was $19.01 with taxes.

About an hour before, I went onto their website to place the order. A few minutes after confirming the order, I realized I needed to make an adjustment on one of them. I called the store and they were able to amend and accommodate. When it comes to pick-up, this store is located in a large plaza. I came about 30 minutes after ordering and everything was ready. The pick-up process was very smooth and they gave extra peppers, cheese, etc. Even before I got to try the pizza, I knew it was going to be AMAZING based on the smells that took over my car. For the total order, I got the following items: - Tandoori and Tikka Masala (Half/Half - Large) - Butter Chicken (No tomato, onions, cilantro - Medium) - Chili Paneer (Small) - Pesto Breadsticks - Loaded Curry Waffle Fries Personally, I tried a bit of everything aside from the butter chicken and had a pleasant experience with all of them. My personal favorite was the chili paneer since it had a slight spice kick. For the waffle fries, I highly recommend to enjoy that early on, as it gets soggy over time. My friends also had great remarks about the flavors. Looking forward to giving this place another try in the future!

I personally will not be returning. We ordered wings plain which might be the only thing that saved our meal. It was as expected, nothing extraordinary and not bad. We got all their sauces on the side and none of the sauces stood out. The worst pizza I've ever had. Pizza dough was off, pretty bready no bounce or chew like it was missing that bouncy moisture that amazing dough has. Maybe they don't have a great starter yeast? Half Chicken Tikka Masala, Half Tandoori Chicken Pizza was quite disappointing as well. Nothing was cohesive. Chicken had no flavor and it was quite dry, also wasn't sticking to the pizza. Maybe if they offered a side of sauce along with the pizza might have helped a tad..

It was only a 2 minute walk from where we were so we decided to check it out. On the outside was a holiday themed drink menu and the Butter Me Up sounded like something we'd enjoy. It may sound very sweet but it was actually perfectly balanced and allowed the strength of the espresso to come through. The barista was very kind and patient with us. Today, my friend and I ordered a Coke and an ice water and sat in the lounge area to work on assignments. The café was far from full, with only a couple of other people in the lounge and plenty of open seating available. After about an hour, the owner came over and rudely told us we were "holding two tables over a Coke" and pressured us to order more. I understand businesses need customers to make purchases, but there is a respectful way to communicate that. What made the situation worse was that after I ordered a coffee, she immediately turned to my friend and basically stared him down with a strict look, clearly expecting him to order something too. I explained that we were going to split the coffee, because we're both trying to lose weight, but she continued making the situation uncomfortable. Staring down a customer and making them feel pressured to spend more money is not how you treat paying customers. What makes this even more frustrating is that the menu is already severely overpriced for what is offered. On multiple occasions, I've heard the microwave running while food was being prepared. Paying premium prices for what appears to be microwaved food is disappointing enough without being pressured to spend even more. Even though we only ordered a Coke initially, and have only done that once before, we were still spending money. As regular customers who come here often, you would think that would be appreciated rather than criticized. Be thankful people are still choosing to spend money at your business. Honestly, after today's experience, it's no wonder this place is often empty. Customer service and hospitality matter, and making customers feel unwelcome, guilty, or pressured to spend more is a great way to drive them away. The interaction was uncomfortable enough that I asked for my food to be packed to go and left. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. It's a cafe, not a 5 star restaurant. People want to come here to work on assignments or have a coffee and talk. Even though I didn't want to spend 9 dollars on a coffee, I still purchased something. Edit from her Google response: Now you guys see what type of owner she is by her response. Truly, truly a fake person, and we always spend money coming here (now she wants to lie and manipulate since I have her attention). I always purchase a coffee and more, and I have receipts to prove it. I do not use her WiFi for free, as I am not a rude person unlike her. I don't just order a soda like this owner claims; see my receipts on my credit card. My friend and I ordered drinks and were talking and doing assignments for about half an hour (while she and her waiter came up to us like 10 times to ask us to order, even though this is a cafe), even though we said we would order later. If you're broke, just say so, lady. Trust me, at this rate, this place will close down soon. Like I said, this is a cafe where people come to have a drink, relax, talk, study, or work on assignments; not a restaurant where customers are expected to order a full meal every time they sit down. We purchased drinks, planned to order more later, and were still repeatedly approached and pressured to order. Please do yourself a favor and stop lying to the public. I did not come here four times and just use the WiFi. I paid for the WiFi with my extremely expensive and disgusting coffee and food, which is shown below in the receipts. I did not buy $2 sodas every time. The receipts I attached are from my card, but on many of the other visits my friend paid with his card and spent just as much. So trying to claim that we were sitting here for free or only ordering a soda is simply not true. Now that I have proved you wrong in front of the public, I hope everyone sees you for who you are. You are a money-hungry liar! Lastly, you are right; you're not Starbucks. Starbucks would not treat customers that way, and I'd much rather spend my money at Starbucks anyway.Glad we're on the same page!
