Let me say I really wanted to like this place. The owner seemed really nice. But I'm an honest reviewer and the food fell flat. Beef shawarma was honestly the worst I've ever had from any Mediterranean place. It wasn't cooked on a spit, taken from the fridge and fried. Thin, dry, flavorless pieces of beef. The falafel was a bit better, but tasted a bit dense and lackluster. The chicken shawarma was just as bad as the beef. The store keeps it in large tubs just sitting out which can't be sanitary. It's precooked so you can expect it to be dry. Lastly I ordered fries. Came out soggy but most importantly unsalted. Fries with no salt is no good. The fries were $4.99 which is pricey for a small bag of fries. There are so many other good Mediterranean places nearby. If you want good shawarma, check out Furn-Saj which is a couple blocks away. It's night and day difference. Wish this could have been better, but I won't be back. read more

Note that everything appears to be more expensive by at least $0.50. Food is good and you get the service based on the people working there. The man and woman that works there on the weekends are super professional. The man featured in one of the most recent photos is unprofessional and must think super highly of himself. Has a superiority complex. Tried the lamb and kafta kabobs again and this time it was on point. Falafel and kibbeh were delish! Restaurant is run down, but this side of the plaza is still "relatively safe." No guarantees on the other side of the plaza where you see bums and druggies out and about zombieing what used to be the Big Lots. It's pretty ghetto past Pasha Market, so order this for takeout and don't bring your first date here. 4/5 - Would have rated higher but the man was just rude and unprofessional. Came to this place cuz I was looking for some good Mediterranean food in the area. Based off yelp reviews we stopped at this place. The lonely man that was cooking our food was also answering his many phone calls from his personal phone while peeling a potato with a knife. There didn't seem like an urgency to cook our food, although we were the only two people in the restaurant. This is definitely a mom and pop shop... this ain't no Olive Pit or Luna grill so if you are shooting for that... this ain't it. This is definitely a place that locals come to who are familiar with the language. When we got our food I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! It did take a minute for them to cook it all but it was well worth the wait! Over all this was a place I would come back to and would recommend with the understanding that it is a non franchised restaurant. This is definitely a hidden Gem. Don't let the location fool you! First time trying this place and I love Mediterranean food as zankhou chicken is my favorite casual dining one. I ordered the kefta kabob sandwich and my boyfriend got the beef sharma plate. First thing I noticed was the small portions for the price. My boyfriends plate had one small scoop of meat and my kebab sandwich was very small and the meat tasted old it was not cooked to order. Needless to say I will not be coming back. It was lacking the freshness and taste. Not sure how they got such good ratings to be honest. read more

I finally had the pleasure of stopping by in person and I was very satisfied with the fast service. I had there vegetable plate which was perfect -- it included falafel which was quite flavorful and crispy (just the way I liked it) as well as hummus, tabouli, baba ghanoush, pita bread, and stuffed grape leaves (which I'd never had before and O.M.G. so good!!). My husband got the beef kabab plate and my mom got the chicken kabab plate and they both loved their meals. My husband commented that, "even the rice is really flavorful!" This restaurant is amazing. The food is fabulous. Additionally, they will listen to your needs and adjust your plate as needed . There's not many places that I can eat because I have so many food allergies. The man here listened to me and helped me find something that I could eat, And now I am a regular! I've served their delicious food at Graduation, Birthday and Holiday parties and it is always a big hit. I just ordered food for our annual Celebration of Life for 30 family members and I am so excited to delight my guests with the fresh Humus and the best, moist chicken. This restaurant is small, family owned, with a very considerate approach to service. Making recommendations for your needs that you may not have thought about even if you do entertain or host often. The quality of food is reliably consistent and always fresh. Anytime of year they are a great lunch or dinner or catering choice but for hotter weather it is just perfect. I have a long history with Oasis Grill as it was my post-run dinner spot for quite awhile and since then until now I have never been disappointed. Their service and quality of food are consistent and authentic. My favorite is the kefta kabob plate. The texture of the kefta is perfectly savory, not too dense or too soft. The garlic paste is to die for...this is the one that I work very hard not to eat by the spoonful by itself for fear of offending friends and family with garlic seeping out of my pores. LOL! While I haven't visited nearly as often as I used to, I have the assurance that I know what I am going to get -- and it's gonna be good! read more

Bad food and bad service. I am standing right in front of him at the register, he doesn't greet nor gives me attention and starts speaking to his customer in his language. The beef schwarma was close to $10. It was made cheaply: low quality and chewy beef cuts was used, wrapped in a small pita bread. I asked if I can get it cut in half. He didn't bother to wrap the halves instead it was dumped in the plastic bag, filling being exposed and touching the bag. I guess he wanted to save money on wrapping paper. This place has the best falafels I've ever had! Crispy outside, moist and flavorful insides...and it went so well with the hummus and sauce! The pita was also nicely warmed and had that crispy-soft ratio on point. The salad was very flavorful and heavily herbed (I liked that). My friend and I were both stuffed and happy with our meals, which were actually at a very decent price--most everything is less than $10! Sooo...Yes...I'm dying of thirst.. and I Ordered: beef kabob... nice..moist...with a slight touch of red on the inside They also gave me a side of hummus, because I didn't want the other stuff. Nice bowl of garlic paste. Strong..tasty...but...I wish it was bigger. Those purple pickled turnips are great..but need more on the plate. I was passing through west covina, coming back from LA, and i was craving for some lebanese food. Yelp directed me to Oasis Grill. Figured why not? I walked in before the lunch rush, it was around 11:30a. They opened at 11A. In fact I was the only customer in there at that time. I basically had asked if I could do half/ half on the meat so i could try as many things as possible and write a more comprehensive review , but the owner was a bit huffy (for lack of a better word) and said he couldn't do this or do that. I asked if the rotisserie chicken was ready, and none was available for another 15-20 minutes. I was a bit taken aback by his demeanor, luckily a nice gentleman, who I think only goes there to hang out and run their errands as a favor (that's what I gathered cause he was employed by a neighboring business), talked to me about what they offered, and the owner, etc. All the meats are prepared kosher. Anyway, I ordered the chicken shawarma, hummus, tabbouleh, and a side order of falafel. They gave me a basket of warm pita as well. I really enjoyed the hummus and the falafel, but wasn't too thrilled with the shawarma. I feel as if it lacked some seasoning, and could have been cooked longer to so the meat could absorb more of the flavor, and be less wet. This is why I was hoping to be able to try more of their man offerings, so my review wouldn't be so focused on the one thing I didn't quite enjoy as much. The prices were great till they raised it up and the food is good is just they are really stingy on serving size, especially the hummus! They try to act like you have a lot and then you have a big hole in the middle of the hummus and they charge a lot of the garlic paste. It could be better if they weren't stingy. read more

WOW! This place surprised me for sure. As I was walking in, a family was walking out and was raving about how tasty the food was. I totally underestimated it and was judging it by the way it looks. I will say, it is in high need of a make over haha but don't let that stop you from getting your Mediterranean/Greek fix. Boy was I surprised at the amount of food they serve. The Combo Chicken Kabab plate is more than enough food for one person. The chicken was tender, juicy and had a really good taste to it. It went well with their garlic spread. I ordered my combo with the salad and that too was good. No brown spots on my lettuce, huge plus haha. If you like zankou chicken, I would say with confidence that OASIS GRILL meets up to a "just like zankou reputation" and even better, that it's close to home! I love the chicken kabob plate, they do a "secret thing" to their chicken, not sure if it's steam, boiled or pressure cooker. But it is ALWAYS tender and juicy with a delicious lemony flavor. Goes AWESOME with the "kick your breath to the curb" white garlic sauce. The plate also comes with a fresh little side salad, delicious and creamy hummus and a pickled salad. You also get plenty of pita bread to go with your plate, sometimes it's a bit on the dry side, other times soft and fluffy! I've also had the stuffed grape leaves here, I've ordered several at a time to go -- and the owner every once in awhile will remember me and throw in a few extra. Great food at a decent price. You wouldn't ever know it from the unassuming exterior and surroundings, located next to Big Lots (previously know as Pic n Save), but the place offers value Mediterranean meals. Previously celebrated a friend's bday here. Also more recently came with another friend during Christmas Eve and had the lamb kebab plate and baklava, which the owner gifted us. The meat was fragrant and the hummus that came with was creamy and not overpowering, which I like. Baklava was delish! I think if you're feeling the mood for some falaffel, schwarma, or Rotisserie Chicken with garlic sauce. Grilled Chicken Sandwich: ($4.99) rotisserie chicken, garlic sauce in a pita wrap. It was quite tasty. I believe things like garlic sauce and garlic aioli make anything amazing. The chicken was already tasty but this made it more so. Beef kabob: Tasty pieces (5) of beef on a stick.
