Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich
Valerie G.

I've passed by here numerous times but never stopped by. Food was good. I still can't get over that pasta salad, a tad different than most I've had. Veggie pizza was quite interesting because I don't think I've ever had carrots on a pizza. The chicken parmigiana sandwich bread though was kinda spongy, it did have a good taste, I just wish the bread was better. Bella our waitress was really sweet. I'd definitely come back

Amazing service very family oriented and the food is absolutely fantastic love the ambiance

First time trying this restaurant, and it's amazing! We ordered the salad, shrimp and andouille sausage, and lasagna. Everything was so good! We will definately be coming back.

El Appetiz is quintessential whole-in-the-wall, hidden gem, type status. Huge shout out to owner Jose for his gracious hospitality to me and my fiancee as we pulled up craving some pasta. From the hand made linguine made in house, fresh made from scratch sauces, and succulent choices of meat and seafood, you cannot skip out on the tequila seafood linguine. With a light and creamy yet velvety cream sauce kissed with a touch of tequila and citrus along with loads of tender and juicy shrimps and scallops this place is unbeatable and AFFORDABLE! They only serve take-out or catering orders but they do have a small dining area inside the restaurant for small parties. Jose and the El Appetiz crew has been at this for 30+ years and just after the first bite, you can understand why!

Soap flavored trash!

I used to love this place--it was one of my favorite Italian spots and I've recommended it to friends in the past. I hadn't been in about a year and was genuinely excited to come back. Unfortunately, today's experience was beyond disappointing. Both dishes I ordered tasted like soap. Not even exaggerating--they were completely inedible and ended up straight in the trash. I don't know what's changed in the kitchen, but something has gone seriously wrong. Sad to say it, but I won't be returning. Total waste of money and a real letdown from a place I used to trust. 1 Star (would be 0 if I could)

We ordered the Chicken Alfredo, Chipotle Chicken Pasta, pizza, and salad, and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the Chicken Alfredo was the standout. The sauce was incredibly rich, creamy, and full of flavor--honestly, I enjoyed it even more than Olive Garden's Alfredo! The atmosphere was another pleasant surprise. While the outside of the restaurant may not immediately catch your attention, don't let that fool you. The inside is beautifully decorated, cozy, and full of charm. It's a smaller restaurant, which made it feel welcoming and comfortable. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. We also loved watching the soccer game on the big screen while enjoying our meal. My only suggestion would be to give a little more attention to the restrooms. They could be cleaned more frequently, and making sure hand soap is always stocked would really enhance the overall experience. Overall, the amazing food, welcoming service, cozy atmosphere, and great portions make this restaurant an easy recommendation. We'll definitely be making the trip back to La Puente again!

With Pizza Italiana, I was after a traditional pizzeria experience. That should be tier 3 or higher. Full disclosure, I ordered online and had it delivered. Ordered the supreme and a pepperoni and I'm giving them a tier 2 at best. The dough was very mediocre and both pizzas were very light on the cheese AND it was too expensive for that tier. I don't recommend and I wouldn't go back given the many alternatives in the area.

Dear yelp friends:…read more Please read my previous reviews and you'll get the skinny on Aldolinos. The food, ambiance, and service have been consistent over the last dozen years or so I've been frequenting. Although they don't have a Sunday brunch anymore, the full bar is amazing and gives the restaurant a refined, sophisticated, quality. While some Italian restaurants are as cheesy as garlic bread, Aldolinos is classy, not trashy. In the corner of the Oak Tree shopping center, you might not think to stop by, but that would be a mistake. Daily specials; happy hour appetizers & libations; consistent food and service make this an easy choice for me in the Azusa area. I like the dividers that give you a bit of privacy and cut down on conversational noise from other tables. The first thing we notice and LOVED was the old school mellow Italian standards they were playing. Yes! Very relaxing and set the mood. We would have sat in the bar, but there was a large group scheduled in there, so we sat in the dining room. Next time we'll try the bar room. The things that stood out were their delicious, rich sauces. The flavors were spot on. They cook their pasta perfect to my family's taste, with a bite (al dente), but done enough that it's not chewy or floury. Fair prices. And yummy desserts. We really enjoyed the tasty Crab Cake app. We all liked our pasta, particularly me, who had the Mushroom Ravioli with the same sauce that comes on the Beef and Mushroom Ravioli. I think there was a Mushroom Ravioli special with a different sauce, but they did it with the sauce I really wanted to try, which was much appreciated! We enjoyed the Spumoni pie--Spumoni ice cream with a graham cracker(?) pie crust. They also made us a traditional Affogato, because that's what my dad likes. But I want to try their version next time. I'm really excited to go back and try their pizza. We'll get one with sausage, since the sausage on my dad's pasta was really outstanding. I also want to try their Caesar Salad. Looking forward to my next visit!

The cozy and relaxing, dimly lit ambiance and its traditional neighborhood trattoria style and decor, featuring grape clustered garlands and twinkle lights, artfully placed around old-fashioned murals of Italian scenery, as if you're sitting in an open air courtyard of a countryside villa, instill feelings of nostalgia and comfort. That being said, while I'm so happy to finally come back to sit and dine in after like 5+ years post pandemic, and I don't know what all has happened w the owner and her family since then, it really does pain me to say that both the Gnocchi Pesto and the Pesto Pasta w chicken that my husband and I ordered yesterday were terribly sub par. It was the sauce...just bland, bland...bland as all get out. Seriously just no flavor I was so disappointed as their Pesto dishes are a favorite of mine. Definitely not how I remembered it. Maybe the cook forgot to season it and then also forgot to taste test the sauce, or something... I don't know. I know I couldn't finish it. They use the same parking lot as Summerfield so it can get busy at some times. I called in to place an order for dinner and it was super easy and convenient. I ordered their Di Pilla Special pizza and a medium Parpadelle special pasta. The total for these dishes came out to be $62. Their portions are quite large since they're a family style restaurant. They also gave us complimentary bread which tasted amazing! I will say that I felt really heavy and full after this meal so this is definitely a cheat meal type of food. Food: Parpadelle Special Pasta (9/10): The noodles are huge and thick and the sauce gets absorbed perfectly. There's mushrooms, spinach, chicken with a white sauce base. They loaded this dish up with sauce which was heavenly. I even dipped my complimentary bread in the sauce because it just tasted that good. The chicken was so soft and wasn't overcooked at all. Between a family of three, there was a perfect amount and didn't have any leftovers. Di Pilla Special Pizza (9/10): Wow, the amount of toppings? Insane. We ordered the medium size which is a 14 inch. There was pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, hamburger, and bacon. I had to go back to their menu to see what toppings there were because wow was there a load full. I thought that the mushroom and bell pepper did overpower most of the slice. We had so many slices left over because of how full each slice makes you. I had it the day after and It was still tasty. I need to come back and try their other menu options. They have so many options to choose from which gets overwhelming because everything sounds amazing!

Needless to say, we were so right! We were greeted and sat with no reservation at around 4:30pm, thankfully there was no wait at that time. However, the restaurant quickly filled up. Our server was very attentive but not over bearing. For our appetizer, we chose bruschetta. 12/10 The perfectly dressed tomatoes and basil sat on a pillowy burrata cloud and melted in your mouth. YUMMMM!! I opted for the penne ala vodka, while she chose the bolognese. 10/10 The penne w/vodka sauce had a surprising hint of spice that was decadent and savory. The bolognese had a slightly creamier taste without the spice and was equally as flavorful. Finally, we ordered the lemon butter cake. 10/10 When I tell you this cake was delicious ... woahhh!! It was a nice crisp butter cake but the lemon zest paired with the coulis and fruit gave the perfect balance. We were told the restaurant would be closing and that it was the final day of service.
