I was at a party and a lady told me that she had a fantastic meal at Corfu, so I made a mental note to check it out. About a week later I stopped in with a friend for dinner. Family owned and operated; Corfu specializes in Mediterranean food. This friendly neighborhood restaurant is small and quaint and the staff are warm and welcoming, especially Ryan & Maribel who took excellent care of us during our visit. I was curious to try the Muhammara (a dip made of crushed walnuts & red pepper paste.) I've never had it before, but it was particularly good. The fresh warm pita & Muhammara was a delightful combination. I couldn't stop eating it. The Greek Salad was a generous serving comprised of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, kalamata olives, & feta. It was plenty for us to share and the dressing was light and not overwhelming. They don't have a full bar. My friend tried two beers. One from Lebanon (Almaza) and another from Greece (Hillas). He liked them both. I had a glass of sparkling wine, which paired well with my meal. The background music was enjoyable and added to the ambience. I didn't realize it was coming from musicians who were playing out front. Ryan informed me that they perform Friday, Saturday, & Sunday evenings. Overall, it was a pleasant experience from beginning to end. Nice Greek restaurant in Sierra Madre. Stopped by here for dinner with some friends. We were able to make a reservation for 10 people with no problem and we had a nice space in the back. Parking on the street is abundant and we did not have trouble parking. Great Greek restaurant in downtown Sierra Madre! It is unpretentious, cozy, with indoor and outdoor seating, and great food. They have different times, menu-s, hours, prices for lunch and dinner so check their site and Yelp in advance! Open all day on Sunday! They were busy when we stopped by during Wistaria festival, but we were given a table immediately. We opted for one inside, by the window, trying to get away from the hustle and bustle. Everyone working here was nice and took care of us, always making sure we have water and warm pita! We share an appetizer, a nice portion of muhammara dip with warm pita, it was fresh and delicious. My husband got kefta kabob and I got the lamb one. Each portion comes with house hummus (very smooth and tasty), tabouli salad, very refreshing and some nice rice, with great flavor! Food was delicious, spot on and got a couple of Greek beers to cool us off! Opa! The decor is simple and homey, they have a couple of restrooms in 2 different areas, decent prices! My favorite is anything with a Gyro sandwich and a side of pita bread and hummus. The service here is remarkable, and is very quick and friendly. After enjoying a relaxing massage across the street, we headed to Corfu for brunch on a recent Sunday. We were seated immediately and it was great to see that brunch is served until 2pm on weekends. I ordered the Lucky Baldwin Omelette filled with chicken, cheese, and onions, accompanied by hash brown and sourdough toast. Hubby opted for the House Combo Platter, which included chicken kebab, beef kabab, and lule kabab. It is served with rice, pita, hummus, and tabbouleh. The portions were generous and everything was delicious. While I couldn't finish my omelette, my husband managed to clean his plate! The only downside is the food came out really slow. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited nearly 30 mins for our food. Because of this, I have to deduct one star. Came here with some friends on a Friday night as we were craving Mediterranean food. Got our seats pretty quickly and I ordered the moussaka. Moussaka was actually really delicious but I'd say it wasn't worth how much it costed. The items on the menu are quite expensive for so little but perhaps it's due to inflation and being in downtown sierra madre. I enjoyed the eggplant casserole but it was a bit on the sweeter side, tasted and smelled a bit like cinnamon on top which was weird. The vegetables were plain, nothing too fancy. i know i'm hitting my stride here now, having found this restaurant. most anyone this side of preschool can find a good, not to say great, tacqueria when it's needed. but i've reached the end of the line with mexican food for awhile. what i was desperately in need of was fresh salad, specifically a greek village salad. this isn't as easy to come by as it might seem out here in suburbia east of pasadena. in fact where i'm from it's impossible to come up with a real greek salad without crossing a fairly large bridge. plenty of italian, not the best either, but no greeks will have us. (PLEASE somebody who knows how move up north, we need you). i happened to mention this to a youngish woman in a grocery store and sure enough this place came with her highest recommendation. fortunately she seemed to me to be someone likely to know. so the salad was simply made as it should be, and generously sized almost for a complete dinner. to supplement we had stuffed cabbage rolls which were really well flavored, and came with veggies cooked just so. as we were leaving the waitperson (is that really necessarily the best way to describe her? no) recommended a great italian place nearby. my next outing will be there. just like doctors, you only need to find one good one to find the rest you might need. it's not corfu here of course, but I'll be back soon. read more

Lovely little restaurant. Came with family for brunch but I opted for a Greek dish. I ordered the STUFFED PEPPERS & TOMATOES served with salad, rice and vegetables. Little did I know it was stuffed with herbed rice & had a side of rice. It was definitely carb heavy, but still delicious. Would definitely go back to try some other dishes. ENJOY! I stumbled upon this place after hiking at Bailey Canyon. Normally my go to is a crepe, but after doing the full hike for the first time, I needed a little more protein. I easily chose the combo kebab platter and order a side of the eggplant as a side dish. The food came out fairly quickly. We loved the fresh hummus on our plate. The eggplant was a bit too salty, but I think it was just an accident. I figured I need the salt anyway, so no harm, no foul. The meat was perfectly charred and on a wonderful plate of rice. The plate also had a side of greens that was great too. Overall, it had a quiet, peaceful environment to enjoy a meal with a friend. Parking was easy too. Honestly, I was so pleasantly surprised by Corfu. Their service was great. We went for a Mother's Day brunch, and we had a number of ladies and I have to say our server was so patient answered all of our questions and even made a pot of decaf for the ladies! The owner even came by and introduce himself and checked on us and it's just a great family owned place. The food was really tasty (forgot to take pics of some of the dishes!!!) I've been wanting to explore Sierra Madre recently and what better way to start than by dining in the area? Restaurants are finally open for outdoor dining again so I came by for a late lunch over the weekend. I tried the lamb kebab while my friend ordered the house combo (beef, chicken, and lule) except they sold out of lule and gave us extra chicken. The platters came with buttery soft rice pilaf, hummus, tabbouleh, and pita (a bit dry). The meats were delicious; the lamb was my favorite, with the chicken and beef juicy and flavorful. Good portion sizes although I couldn't finish the rice but was able to devour everything else. As for covid precautions, tables are well distanced and set up under a semi enclosed tented area while waiters donned masks and face shields. They had heat lamps running since it still gets pretty chilly even during the day. I had Zankou recently and actually liked Corfu better. Would love to come back to try their lule! read more

The plate was quite flavorful. Veggies were cooked just right and the rice was perfect. Cabbage rolls were traditional and did not let me down. Came with just the right amount of sauce. I'd like to return for breakfast. As I watched plates come out, each one looked better than the one before! Staff were friendly and attentive.
