##5 Combo Beef & Chicken Teriyaki
    Samantha m.

I tried this place for the first time after living in Monrovia for years. I must say I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the number five, which is the beef and chicken combo. The dish had a weird smell and the food also had a slightly weird taste and texture. The beef was the texture of can dog food or minced beef. It's hard to explain and I was so thrown off by the smell. I couldn't really enjoy the chicken. Unfortunately, I will not be returning . Eat here at your own risk.

My only negative comment about this place, is that I wish this place was closer to my house. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and beef combo plate and oh my goodness this was absolutely delicious. The beef was so tender and amazingly seasoned and paired with the teriyaki sauce. The young lady that took my order was so bubbly and you can tell that she was genuinely happy to work there. I found this place off of tik tok and wanted to support a small community business, and I am glad that I was able to try this spot. Let it be known, that everyone needs to try this place and get the combo plate. You can sit outside behind the stand and enjoy your food. Overall, this place was absolutely delicious and I would give it a 10 star if I could

We wanted to try this small, family-owned business that we've driven past for years! The service was very friendly. We ordered at the window and they brought our food out to us. There is a small outdoor seating area, mostly covered. We tried the curry and teriyaki and enjoyed both. Both were tasty, although the curry is a bit spicy and not a Japanese curry, so just to be aware. The chicken is dark meat and there is a generous portion of rice and vegetables. My son had the beef and said it was good. We enjoyed our lunch here!

Nice little corner takeout restaurant. ISeating on the side, amazing customer service. We were offered a side of curry sauce to try, and it was to die for. The curry sauce was amazing. The chicken teriyaki was perfectly cooked, not overcooked one bit. Shredded beef was perfectly seasoned, nice and tender as well. Love how much rice they give you, perfectly portioned. Definitely will be back.

Great spot in Monrovia! I have been living in Duarte for 25 years and have never been to this place (shame on me). A friend recently recommended me to try it out and so I decided to finally stop by my Fiancé and cousin. Boy have I been missing out - the Teriyaki and Curry sauce are both amazing! Hands down one of the best teriyakis I have ever tried. The curry is savory, rich, and has a nice little kick - as a spice lover, it was the perfect amount of heat. Both Chicken and Beef were melt in your mouth tender, juicy, and flavorful. The service was amazing as well, a nice young lady rung us up and the gentleman there (owner?) recognized that we had never been there before, and was kind enough to let us try both sauces. It's a cozy/laid back spot with great service and great food. So long Yoshinoya, hello B&C! Service: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Ambience: 10/10 Overall: 10/10 Highly Recommended *Heads up Parking is very limited - it is a smaller spot, but has plenty of tables and chairs in an outdoor seating area.

This place feels like a blast to the past. Just came here and got their #6 and it's niceeeee. It's a simple menu and that's how you know it's done right. I'm gonna try the curry version next time cuz I'm full. Overall, go here cuz it's

I've been coming here for 22 years, and the quality and taste has always stayed consistent! Everything is made fresh to order. The meat is so tender, juicy, and flavorful. I get the beef teriyaki bowl with no veggies, and that's been my go to since 2002. This place is one of those hidden gem mom and pop owned places to eat. If you're in town, def go check them out! Thank you John for always providing the best customer service, food, and always asking how my family is doing. You are so kind and you can tell how much pride you take in your business!

I got all hyped about this place via social media and wanted to support the young owner. Unfortunately the food missed the mark. I was expecting grilled meat but the meat tasted boiled/steamed. They also skimped on their portions and gave me too much rice. The owner is charismatic and sold me on this place. Maybe they're having an off day. I drove out of my way from south east SGV. Thìs is not your standard teriyaki bowl. I would suggest grilling or charbroiling your meats. Maybe they're still working on perfecting their craft. I would give thìs place a 3.8 stars. There's room for improvement.

    Veggie bowl with extra sauce

B & C teriyaki was great. I'm vegan and I got the vegetable with sauce and rice, was way good and loaded with veggies. The service was excellent very friendly and quick. The ambience was chill. They have some tables behind the restaurant. Everything was clean. The best part was the food will definitely be coming back.

TK Cafe has thoroughly impressed me off first impression, and if I was closer, I'd probably be a regular here. For how much we ordered, the food didn't take too long to come out and genuinely, was so good. We got a lot here, from the garlic shrimp to the popcorn chicken, and so much more. The popcorn chicken was, without a doubt, my favorite item. We originally came here because a friend said they had the best popcorn chicken, and I'd honestly agree. It was crispy but also still a bit juicy and I feel like most places go heavily into the crisp aspect and it ends up just seeming overcooked. But it was a 10/10 here. The proportions are huge, so it's easy to over order. The crab rangoons were good on the portions and crispness and not overly filled with cream cheese which is nice. The noodles were good, pretty average, same with the Mac salad. The garlic shrimp was a bit overly garlic-y, but it was still good. If you're looking for a new Hawaiian spot, definitely check out TK Cafe. The proportions are huge and the taste is amazing. If I'm ever in Monrovia again, I'd definitely be stopping by!

All the familiar Hawaiian items are here, and then some. They offer A LOT of different dishes, including a whole bunch of dim sum. And their beverage menu is extensive as well, from your basic teas to milk tea boba and slushies. It's pretty impressive how these folks are able to squeeze all this food in this tiny little restaurant. Decided to go with the dish that everyone who has been to Hawaii has eaten at some point: the loco moco. I thought it might be a good way to gauge how authentic their food is. Ordered a side of Portuguese sausage musubi as well. Yeah, I'm a pig. Loco Moco - 5/10: so yeah. This definitely isn't your traditional loco moco, or at least the dish that I grew up eating (808 born and raised). Two patties, mounds of rice, eggs (unfortunately served over hard...should always be over easy so the yolk comes out) side mac salad - check, check, check and check. But then they bury on the bottom of this dish a bunch of stir-fried veggies, which threw me off a bit. This dish ain't supposed to be somewhat healthy. And then they throw a very light brown sauce on it that definitely isn't gravy. More like a brown sauce you'd mix in with pan-fried noodles. Yeah, just not the way this dish is supposed to made. But at least they give you a lot of it! - Portuguese Spam Musubi - 7.5/10: this one was much better. All the elements were there, and yes, they used Portuguese sausages. Hard to screw up musubi, but believe me, it can be done. Two pieces come in an order and they're on the larger side. So yeah, a little disappointed. I will say though that if I'm in the area again, I might order some dim sum. Happy feasting!

Worried about dry noodles? Don't fret, as they truly pile on the sauce that is both tasty and addictive! Service was satisfactory. There wasn't much to do as we order our own food, but they give you your cutlery and a jug of water at the start so there wasn't a need to ask for anything anyway. The setup was okay. It felt a little cramped and waiting for the toilet while staring at a dirty trash bin wasn't the best start to the meal, but given the space it's understandable. I got the Deluxe Nagoya Mazesoba and my wife got the Original Mazesoba. The original is great but I specifically wanted the seaweed and soft-boiled egg. After a fun mix, I took my first bite and did not stop stuffing myself until the last noodle strand was gone. Seriously, I don't know what they add to it that makes it so addicting but I could not stop eating it. I'm a fast eater usually but even my wife was surprised with my remaining half after her first 2 bites. The sauce would usually be too heavy, but the accompaniments allows the dish to balance itself. It was also not too dry, which is a common worry I have for mixed noodles. At the end of the meal they offer a complimentary rice to mix in with the sauce, though personally I would have preferred a broth as I didn't need the extra carb, but a light broth would have been a great finish. I can see this being a craving, so beware, try it at your own risk... but also run there now!

The first few dishes arrived quickly, and every dish was flavorful and delicious. We especially liked the string beans and the water spinach. The French-style deep-fried fish with basil and black pepper was addictive, and surprisingly it wasn't spicy at all. Ambiance alone inside is reminiscent of hanging out at boba shops growing up in the SGV: bright interior, booths and board games, Pokemon and Shrek playing on the TV such a nice vibe to chill with some friends and chat. Most shops nowadays are grab and go so this felt very nostalgic for me. Now for the real hitters: I still am unable to understand how they can serve this food at this price. Beef Wang (16.48) is one of their signature dishes. It sounds really simple on paper, stir fried meat, mushroom, and egg. That's it. I am still wondering how they were able to get such a flavorful bowl from a simple dish and on a perfectly cooked bed of way too much rice so you can enjoy leftovers at home. Super Sea Nachos (35): Our party of 5 ordered our own bowls and shared this thinning it was going to be a simple appetizer. The avocado alone we joked shoulda been 35 . An assembly of tuna, shrimp, imitation crab, with wonton nachos was the perfect fresh accompaniment with the rice bowl. They do not skimp at all on the nachos or seafood and no doubt I'd share another tray with friends another day. They are not the most extravagant dishes, but honestly the quality, comfort, ambience, and value makes this one of my favorite sit down experiences recently.
