Small Thai restaurant in the Arcadia/Foothill/Monrovia area. Owner assisted us today, loved the artwork of his son incorporated into the logo of the business. Started with a Thai Tea, it was delicious. The lunch specials come with rice, egg roll and the main dish. The vegetable dish is seasoned with a garlic sauce but had a lot of liquid and not sauce. The owner was really friendly and the service was quick. The place was empty but mostly a lot of pick up orders or to go. The decor is interesting with real and fake plants, rustic pieces and little stuff that owner likes. All in all, would come back to taste more dishes as it was very tasty and good portion sizes.

I was a regular but not anymore. The portion size shrunk significantly. The plates have become sloppy. I order fried rice and another noodle plate and it was burnt. I don't know if it's the same cooks from before or they are burnt out like the food. I enjoyed the food before but this time it was very bad. I'll just stick to the new restaurant thara 8, more food and not over cooked.

A cute little Thai spot on Foothill and 2nd! My husband and I came by for a couple of lunch specials after finding it on Google and Yelp in the area where we were on break. In a small plaza with a parking lot, this Thai restaurant is a bit of a hole in the wall with an eclectic blend of diy contemporary decor with a few pop culture references. It's lunch specials were about $12 each with an egg roll and rice added on to a small entree. I got the chicken pad Thai and Thai iced tea and my husband ordered the mixed vegetables with pork. Pros: Both plates were tasty and pretty good for the price and so was the Thai tea. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was casual. Cons: The kitchen dishwashing area was next to the dining area so unfortunately the smell of dishwater was present. The restaurant overall could use a little refresh to be more inviting and clean. It's a nice spot, but as is I think a to go order would suffice for some decent Thai food in the area.

I order takeout from here all the time and I'm never disappointed. The food is fresh, flavorful, fairly portioned and fairly priced. I have yet to dine inside, but the restaurant itself is casual, small, and cute. Fave dishes: Pineapple fried rice w/shrimp Chicken pad Thai All of the curries are good

My friend wanted to take me for a birthday meal and i just wanted something quite simple that would have Vegan Options and low and behold nearby where I had to go later tonight was this small Thai restaurant one of my friends recommended.... We walked in and a guy behind the counter taking orders..... Small and clean they just told us to have a seat and a lady sitting in the corner with a cool little boy asked us if we were ready to order...and proceeded to take our order.... I should've taken pictures of the menu it is newer now compared to the ones I see on yelp....there is a caricature of a kid on the menu with his thumb up and looks like putting something towards his mouth...well it is the little boy of the owners (I assume)....he even helped clean up our table and gave us our check....which he brought up the payment to the front.... My friend had the Chicken Pad Thai and I had the Vegan Pad Kee Mao w/Tofu. Both were good and tasty and enough food for us to eat..... Prices are reasonable and I highly recommend giving this place a try whether you eat here or get it to go!

I absolutely love this restaurant. The owners are a very cute husband and wife team and they are super inviting. They greet their regulars by name and are very engaging. Not to mention the food is outta sight. The best pad Thai in Cali that I've had. And I've had a lot. I will continue to support their business and also looking forward to try some dishes that I haven't had before.

The food is good and tastes clean. We've pretty much ate everything on the menu like a TRUE fatty. We like the chicken wings app that has this nice curry with a hint of spicy rub and the side sauce gives this good balance of some kind of sweet chili ketchup? Our go to is the beef noodle or the short rib noodle (same same but different) and the tomato egg noodle. The tomato egg noodle gives the childhood nostalgia of the Chinese egg tomato dish that I'm sure majority of Chinese family makes for dinner. The noodles are def fresh every time. More recently we were adventurous and got the build your own stir fried noodles and yum. I highly recommend this chain.

The XLB and string beans were good but standard. Essentially safe picks. The tomato egg is something we order at every location because it just hits the spot for us. Classy and nostalgic. TK Cafe has thoroughly impressed me off first impression, and if I was closer, I'd probably be a regular here. For how much we ordered, the food didn't take too long to come out and genuinely, was so good. We got a lot here, from the garlic shrimp to the popcorn chicken, and so much more. The popcorn chicken was, without a doubt, my favorite item. We originally came here because a friend said they had the best popcorn chicken, and I'd honestly agree. It was crispy but also still a bit juicy and I feel like most places go heavily into the crisp aspect and it ends up just seeming overcooked. But it was a 10/10 here. The proportions are huge, so it's easy to over order. The crab rangoons were good on the portions and crispness and not overly filled with cream cheese which is nice. The noodles were good, pretty average, same with the Mac salad. The garlic shrimp was a bit overly garlic-y, but it was still good. If you're looking for a new Hawaiian spot, definitely check out TK Cafe. The proportions are huge and the taste is amazing. If I'm ever in Monrovia again, I'd definitely be stopping by!

All the familiar Hawaiian items are here, and then some. They offer A LOT of different dishes, including a whole bunch of dim sum. And their beverage menu is extensive as well, from your basic teas to milk tea boba and slushies. It's pretty impressive how these folks are able to squeeze all this food in this tiny little restaurant. Decided to go with the dish that everyone who has been to Hawaii has eaten at some point: the loco moco. I thought it might be a good way to gauge how authentic their food is. Ordered a side of Portuguese sausage musubi as well. Yeah, I'm a pig. Loco Moco - 5/10: so yeah. This definitely isn't your traditional loco moco, or at least the dish that I grew up eating (808 born and raised). Two patties, mounds of rice, eggs (unfortunately served over hard...should always be over easy so the yolk comes out) side mac salad - check, check, check and check. But then they bury on the bottom of this dish a bunch of stir-fried veggies, which threw me off a bit. This dish ain't supposed to be somewhat healthy. And then they throw a very light brown sauce on it that definitely isn't gravy. More like a brown sauce you'd mix in with pan-fried noodles. Yeah, just not the way this dish is supposed to made. But at least they give you a lot of it! - Portuguese Spam Musubi - 7.5/10: this one was much better. All the elements were there, and yes, they used Portuguese sausages. Hard to screw up musubi, but believe me, it can be done. Two pieces come in an order and they're on the larger side. So yeah, a little disappointed. I will say though that if I'm in the area again, I might order some dim sum. Happy feasting!

I was surprised to read here on Yelp that the original famed chef left for a few years and recently returned, because I did not notice any major changes in the quality of the dishes I usually order. The current manager was my waiter this time, and he said that staffing has been a challenge; he himself also worked here, left , and returned. Colette offers a somewhat non-traditional, somewhat elevated menu, not as varied as other Chinese places, although they do offer dim sum and lunch specials. Note the menu on the website is old and kind of obsolete; the newer menu, which is laminated and has photos, is more extensive. The dish I always order is their fabulous chayote minced pork. I've also ordered their live lobster when I have a hankering. They have the lobsters and crabs in tanks on view, priced per pound. They can prepare it in several ways; I always choose stir-fried with ginger and scallions and add noodles. They also have some specialty dishes like winter melon soup that you must order in advance. I ordered 3 other dishes, only one for the first time. That was honey-glazed beef cubes. Slices of beef covered in sliced almonds on a bed of asparagus with an orange sauce that was similar to orange marmalade. Tasty and unique. The other 2 dishes that I've had before were the golden yolk luffa and the goo-loo pork (aka sweet and sour pork). Luffa is a gourd (like a cucumber) that is edible when young, but turns into the fibrous sponges we bathe with when mature. It's slighty bitter, here stir-fried with salted egg yolk. The pork was pretty traditional, slightly elevated with the addition of strawberries. For me, a reliable neighbourhood spot for Chinese. I hope they can keep it together.

I placed my order through their website and ordered the original Nagoya Mazesoba non-spicy with poached egg (15.29). I selected the earliest pick up time and then headed to the restaurant a few minutes before. However, to my surprise, the staff told me that my order wasn't ready yet and would need another 10 to 15 minutes. This is already after the 15 minutes of the promised due time when I placed my order, so I had no choice but to wait outside the store. This made my experience annoying because now I waited a total 25 minutes for my food. They should not have put an asap ordering with a due time if their kitchen wouldn't be able to meet the time. It seemed to me that their kitchen forgot to cook my order until I arrived at the store and they noticed the order, because my order was ready 10 minutes after I arrived and waited outside. The only good thing is the staff was nice enough to bring out my food instead of letting me go inside to get it after the time they told me passed. This is why I had to drop a star in my review. As for the noodles, it is similar to my memory of how it tasted. The sauce is very flavorful and a bit greasy as you get to the last couple bites. But the portion is still a bit small and also the noodle texture seemed not as chewy and soft. It might be because it is takeout or the kitchen was in a rush to cook it. But overall it was just alright and not as good as I remembered. If I do come again, I will dine in to see if the noodles taste any better. Because of this, I definitely would just recommend dining in. Dining in also gets the free bowl of rice.
