My daughter and I were driving around trying to figure out what to have for breakfast and came across Corner Cottage. I've heard of this place and their breakfast burritos for years and decided to give them a try. Was please to see that it didn't look too busy. Figured it would be a quick in and out trip as I had to go get my youngest daughter from her Saturday class. I ordered 2 bacon and egg breakfast burritos. Was then told all orders would take about 30 minutes. Despite thinking this seemed like an excessive amount of time for the amount of traffic I saw, I go ahead and order the burritos. I let them know I'll be back after I pick my daughter up, about 40 minutes. When I returned my burritos were ready and hot! Burrito had a really nice flavor. Corner Cottage continues to be CASH ONLY! Majority of the time, this is the reason why I don't come here as often as I'd like. The burritos are excellent! Equally proportioned and the potatoes are absolutely delicious. I remember a few years back that it was ALL potatoes and barely any meat and eggs, but that changed with my visit this time around. The salsa is delicious and really spicy. You can add salsa inside the burrito or on the side. One salsa is free and the second one is 30 cents. You have to come with time, otherwise, you will definitely be late to where you need to get to. There's ALWAYS a line and the wait could be really long. They do have their private parking, but it could get really busy. They haven't really changed the interior of the restaurant. They have three tables inside. At least three bar stools. Corner cottage serves burgers, sandwiches and hotdogs but they are known for their breakfast burritos. This place gets packed no matter what day you come, so expect a wait. If you ask the locals what's their favorite breakfast burrito place is . 'Corner cottage" is usually the answer. Why? I don't even put them in my top five. The burrito lacks flavor and the potatoes are always undercooked. I much rather have Norms or Larry's for breakfast burritos in the area. The prices are fair, the staff works efficiently, and It's always nice to see a local business thrive for so many years. I respect Corner Cottage for being in the community for over 30 years. Disappointment is an understatement there's no word to really describe how disappointed and let down I am by the new owners of corner cottage. I don't know why they think they know better than the pioneers of the breakfast burrito. They came in just to destroy a Burbank staple. I came in the first time since the new change and was disappointed just like I thought I was going to be. First of all they completely changed the burritos and changed the tortilla it is a yellow now they used to be white the tortilla had a special flavor and it had a special bite to it the new tortilla doesn't taste as good and is way too big. The salsa isn't even as good anymore and on top of that they got rid of their famous chicken and beef bowl. I don't know why those guys bought that place just to destroy it I will never be returning to this place I feel like a childhood friend was killed shame on you. What can I say that hasn't already been said? Breakfast burritos are simple but so well done. It doesn't need a lot of fuss or frills. My order is extra cheese, salsa inside with extra on the side, bacon or sausage if I'm in the mood, but a plain burrito sans meat is incredible... which says a lot about the eggs, potatoes, and cheese. I pick up multiple burritos for people and make many modifications for my picky friends, and they've always executed them flawlessly. Salsa is pretty spicy but truly makes the burrito. ABSOLUTE LACK OF RESPECT. I was harassed this morning by Tim the manager and aggressively told to leave because they wouldn't allow my service dog to be inside with me. Even after trying to explain to them the laws they were breaking they instead vented their frustrations to other customers, who, then also became aggressive with me. There are laws in California protecting my ability to be with my service animal, and the fact that they so blatantly didn't care and demanded paperwork from my doctor is disgusting and against the Americans with disabilities act. I have filed complaints with the police and the city. These people do not deserve your business. read more

Ok, I have to say this place is pretty good. My daughter was bummed because we were too late to get their breakfast burrito. She ordered the chicken burrito. The burrito was pretty good although a bit spicy. The burger is decent but I will definitely get the double next time as the single has a tiny beef patty. The chili cheese fries were FANTASTIC, they give Pinks a run for their money. The service is so so, but the food is worth it. Make sure you take cash as they don't accept credit cards. read more

Finally had a chance to come here after reading so much about it. The parking lot had about 15 or so parking spots. I also noticed that people were parked at the empty lot adjacent. There's also street parking available if you can find a spot. Came here around 9am and ordered the steak breakfast burrito. I had about 3 people ahead of me, so the line was short thankfully. Remember that they are CASH Only. I waited about 10 minutes for my order to be ready. Next time, I will call in for pick up. There are about 3 tables and 3 seats at the counter. This is a super small place. They also stop serving breakfast burritos at 11am. When I unwrapped my burrito, I was surprised that it was smaller than the pictures on Yelp. The salsa was in a super small container. I don't know why they are so stingy with their salsa. It definitely tasted fresh and had a kick to it. It wasn't overly spicy to me though. Now to the burrito. On my initial bite, I noticed how different it tasted compared to other breakfast burritos I've had. I noticed that it had an overwhelmingly hash brown taste compared to other places that use potato chunks. It was pretty good in IMO. The steak did not add much to the burrito. It was so thin and barely any meat that I could not taste it. Next time, I will get the bacon or sausage. I can't say that it's the best tasting breakfast burrito, but it was pretty good. The hot sauce isn't a sauce--it's thicker than pico de gallo. But yes, fresh and spicy. The sandwich was a total miss--avoid that one. I have no idea what meat was on my "steak" sandwich. Foam-rubbery little triangles. And the sandwich was the size of a a child's lunchbox PBJ that's been sat on. Kind on the phone and in person, slower than fast food but not a terrible wait. A nice little breakfast joint that's in a good area. Staff is polite and the menu is easy. Some items and prices may vary on here then in the restaurant. The food is satisfying. The only thing I do not like about this place is that it's cash only. I had to stop by my local atm because there isn't one here. I asked if they could grill the tortilla a bit so it's crispier and the guy who took my order said sure no problem. I also asked if they had chili cheese fries, but it was too early. I got my food under 10 mins and ate it my car. The salsa was exceptional but they give you so little. There were napkins and the salsa fell out in one clump. The burrito overall was okay. It tasted like a potato. Not grilled potatoes but mushy, tasteless (no seasoning) potatoes - could not taste the egg, cheese or sausage. Was my tortilla grilled, nope. Now the price was good and now that I read people's reviews, I should have asked for less potatoes or more cheese or something. But it was basically eating pushy potatoes with a small amount of tasty sausage. Another criticism and this has NOTHING to do with the business, the the lack of social distancing and masks by the customers. When I got there this guy with no masked pushy by me to the counter (I was standing behind this couple who were waiting to order). When they called my number, I tried to go inside but suddenly a bunch of people came flocking out and I stood aside to let them but at the same time this woman who was behind me pushed ahead and in. With all the hype, I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, I cannot. Portions are small, beef teriyaki, tastes like rehydrated beef jerky. Good burrito and great price. I got the steak burrito. The tastiness and size of the burrito is good. A lot of potatoes in the burrito and it can over power the taste to point where you can't taste the egg, but I don't mind as I love potatoes. One drawback... they don't accept credit card.
