My wife and I have been wanting to try this place out for a while. Unfortunately, we missed breakfast, but we decided to stay for lunch. One of the specials for the day was the Pastrami burger, fries, and a drink. I added chili and onions to mine, while my wife opted for chili only. While the patties are small, the flavor isn't. Sorry y'all I don't get the hype. I got two breakfast burritos this morning for my sister and I. Our orders were the breakfast burritos with bacon and sausage. I was really expecting like an amazing breakfast burrito, but unfortunately, my first bite all i could taste was burnt potato and bacon. ugh, I really wanted to like it. Each bite after that tasted just gross it was also extremely salty. I couldn't finish it. Sorry to be a hater, but it's a no for me. Tried to edit my review, but Yelp's system is not working. I wanted to add that there are way too many potatoes in the breakfast burrito. The bacon pieces are tiny and I couldn't find or taste any eggs....just stuffed with lots of potatoes. When I asked for more of the tiny amount of hot sauce, I was told it would be a 50 cent charge. I guess what missed me was that I asked for no cheese on my burrito from the same guy who knew that I had already saved them money on my order. (I think he was the owner.) I didn't see a sign warning not to expect eniufh sauce for your whole burrito. That's a first for me. I think the package costs more than the sauce. I consider myself to be a breakfast burrito connoisseur and this is probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever tried! I would drive here from Northridge when I was living at the CSUN dorms just to get my burrito fix! CONS: This place is cash only and who carries cash still? They are so busy that they don't ever pick up the phone to order ahead of time. This is so inconvenient because this means you have to wait in a long line to order and then wait a long time there to get your order. Don't even think about uber eats or postmating their food, because they don't offer it. They need a better system like yesterday. Also, I feel like the burritos have gotten smaller over time and they have also raised their prices over time. One of the top breakfast burrito spots in Burbank. Corner Cottage doesn't look like much from the outside but they have some amazing breakfast burritos. For about $8 you get a filling tasty breakfast burrito filled with your choice of bacon, sausage, or steak with eggs, potato, and cheese. So simple yet packed full of flavor. You can't go wrong with any choice you select. Once you bite into it you taste all the ingredients as they all compliment each other. Their salsa provided is also very delicious and a must to pair with your burrito. My only gripe is that there will be a long wait as the place is always crowded. I've tried going Saturday afternoon and there was an hour wait. I came on a Thursday morning at 7am and I still waited about 25 mins for my burrito. Wish they had some premade burritos that you can grab and go but either way it was worth the wait. Great no frills spot with affordable great food. read more

The first time I went there I ordered two bacon and sausage burritos. I realized I was short by a few bucks and the dude at the counter could've easily just cancelled the order, but he showed me kindness and let me have the order anyway. Just told me to bring the money next time. I loved that kind gesture, faith in humanity restored. He's the Asian dude at the counter taking orders. Their burritos are some of the best I've had. Without question, corner cottage has the best breakfast burritos in town. Maybe in LA county. Been going to this spot for years. You gotta come early or order ahead because there's always a line out the door. You really can't go wrong with either the carne asada, bacon, ham or sausage. Their secret weapon though is the salsa! I have been going to the Corner Cottage for years now. I live out of state, but visit Southern California 2-4 times a year. I also go the corner cottage 2-4 times a year. I heard that they recently sold and were under new management. I was kind of worried that things might not be the same. Especially reading so many negative reviews here on yelp. I am glad to say that everything is about the same if not better than years before. I only get breakfast burritos and it was amazing on this recent trip. It was so good that I went back the next day to make sure it wasn't a fluke? And I can proudly say it wasn't. Everything from the food, service, ambiance, was excellent. They have even got some new seating and floors. They might have raised their prices a tad but who hasn't in the last couple of years? For all the people that get on here and write negative reviews for this place need to get a life. These are the best breakfast burritos ever hands down. The food is always made to order. The portions are big and can be easily shared. Their chicken and beef bowls are also amazingly delicious. Lots of flavor and taste. Love their burritos, they were extremely tasty and had a good amount of crispy potatoes and we got extra meat in it because we heard that they put very little meat compared to the carbs. This place has been on my list for awhile. I happened to be in the area at around 9:30 am on a Sat. I saw the throng of people hanging outside, and thought it wasn't too bad. I got into a separate line to order. Took about 5 mins to get to the front - not bad. Then the guy told me it was about an hour wait to get my order. I didn't have that much time to wait around. I didn't order and simply left. NOW I understood why so many ppl were just standing around or sitting in their car. TIP: go early, order, run about 10 errands and then come back. Pretty good breakfast burrito from corner cottage. I ordered the steak breakfast burrito. To be honest, it was really good. It was not the best breakfast burrito I've had, but was really freaking good. The individual ingredients of the burrito are really good. The hashbrowns are the perfect texture and were seasoned really well. The eggs were seasoned perfectly as well. The cheese added a good flavor. The steak was seasoned well but was a little chewy. The salsa that came on the side is absolutely delicious. It paired perfectly with the burrito. It was the perfect spicey with a nice freshness because of the other ingredients in the salsa. My issue is that it could use some sauce. The burrito as a whole is pretty dry. I personally was not a fan of tortillas. The flavor of it was really good, but the texture was very clay-like. Another issue is that the flavor of the overall burrito is pretty basic. They could use something to elevate the flavors. Again good eggs, hash browns, steak, and cheese, but the overall flavor was very basic. Nonetheless, as a standard breakfast burrito, corner cottage's burrito is elite. The quality of the food is alright. I appreciate how the salsa is house-made. It baffles me because the ingredients use are no doubt cheap. Though, the burrito is delicious. It proves that you don't need these expensive ingredients, to make good food. Props to corner cottage for that. The burrito was freshly made. Standard presentation for the burrito. God this place is still so good! I used to have it when I worked nearby & now that I moved near Burbank I was able to finally come to the place & get my fix. I got the breakfast burrito with sausage. The hot sauce is pretty spicy so I got mine in the side. The way they make the potatoes in the burrito is what makes me love these breakfast burritos so much. The workers are also super friendly. It's def the best whole in the wall gem! Also it's CASH only. There is ample amount of parking but it does get busy so plan it out accordingly. I've got to say Corner Cottage has my HEART. Customer service and all else is ehhh. But their breakfast burrito.. it's LIFE. They serve breakfast until 11am only and they're closed on Sunday's. My go to is a breakfast burrito with SAUSAGE & BACON with salsa inside and out! (on the side). They crisp up their potatoes so well before mixing it with their delicious meats. You'll find you'll have a good balance of ingredients throughout the burrito versus other places that have a chunk of potato all on one side or all the meat shoved over carelessly on the other. Corner Cottage does an amazing job. Okay on to the best part. THEIR SALSA. Damn their salsa IS. TO. DIE. FOR. I'm super passionate about food in general but Corner Cottage's salsa really does hold a special place in my heart! They handmake their salsa and it is the BEST. Don't ask me what's in it but it's chopped or minced up so small and it's perfectly salty and SPICY. My mouth is literally drooling thinking of this burrito slathered in their salsa. I like spicy so if you do too this is be your fav! I take a bite and pour more salsa for my next bite. My mouth is on fire but not only is it spicy, ITS FLAVORFUL too. I save what I can from the little containers & mix it into scrambled eggs the next day and it's delicious. They should sell their salsa by the pint. I would buy it! Ok, even though I've been raving about the salsa doesn't mean their burritos aren't the best. They truly are THE BEST. And the salsa helps to make it. Also, these suckers are HUGE. If you don't find yourself eating the whole thing in 2 mins, you'll find it can easily make a second meal. The not fun part is the wait... unfortunately for me but fortunately for them, I am not the only one to know how amazing they are. If you show up to order you can easily wait 45mins-1hour for your order. If you get lucky and get through to call ahead.. you can wait a little less. But man they are worth it. For three burritos (2 meats) I spent around $26 so it's a little pricey but I would pay that any day. I've heard their other food is good too but I haven't tried them yet. Corner Cottage recently became my favorite breakfast burrito spot. To give you an idea of which other places I frequent for breakfast burritos, here's a list: Lucky Boy (Pasadena), Tacos Delta (Silver Lake), Tacos Villa Corona (Atwater Village). Villa Corona is my least favorite. Lucky Boy and Tacos Delta are tied. And Corner Cottage is my fave. Here are the reasons why: Size of burrito - perfect. Not too big, not to small. Just right! Salsa - I get it on the side and it goes so well with the burrito. It's a green, fresh pepper salsa. Very spicy! Mess - burritos never fall apart. They're consistently the same size and tidy enough to eat while driving (although I'd advise against distracted driving). Options - sausage, bacon, steak, or a combo. I've tried them all and they're all good. Some reviewers on Yelp complain that it's not enough meat, but I think it's enough. You can also ask for extra meat if that's your thing. Potatoes - in the burrito are great. Taste/texture is like a hash brown, not diced potato. People - the Asian guy who is always there (at least every time I've been there) at the register is nice but also to the point and doesn't waste your time. The other guys cooking up the food seem cool, although there's virtually no interaction between them and the customers - which is fine by me as long as no one is rude. Downsides - CASH ONLY. Can be a long wait even on the weekdays but especially on weekends. They stop serving breakfast burritos at 11 am, which I learned the hard way when I arrived at 11:03 and they wouldn't make me one...this is when I was visibly pregnant too. Each Californian has a die-hard favorite when it comes to where they get their breakfast burrito. I've tried a good handful while I was in town, and I never knew what the hype was - just a mixture of breakfast ingredients, such as bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, and cheese, usually more on the bland side, wrapped in a flour tortilla. Then came the Korean-owned Corner Cottage. This corner eatery has been around the Burbank area for a while, and they serve other fare such as burgers and subs; but, man, the line is out the door in the mornings for people to get their breakfast burrito fix! The hubs and I got the steak breakfast burrito, well done, with eggs, potatoes, and double cheese. The burrito itself was just okay, each of the ingredients well-cooked and generously packed inside the tortilla; I think better would have been a better protein choice. But, what made this burrito magical was adding the HOUSEMADE FRESH SALSA - the finely-chopped jalapenos (and other mixture of secret ingredients) was just AMAZING. It's not watered down, but tiny chunks of spiciness that when added to the burrito (and, I'm sure it would be perfect on anything else), it just made it SO SO SO GOOD. Just note that this housemade salsa is a hot commodity and the eatery's specialty, so any request for extras (it comes in small condiment cups) is an extra charge - you don't really need much, but for those spicy fiends, better bring that cash!
