This is the 3rd time we've ordered for pickup. I always order it medium and this is how it comes, extra well done. I ordered 2 of these and they are $25 each! No bueno

    Fettuccine Dos Sabores

TLDR: Beware of the convenience fee! Maybe it was from card, but it was not communicated. The fettucine dos sabores is popular, but it was not tasty. Maybe it was an off night, or maybe it wasn't for me. - - - - - - I visited Chios upon recommendation, and it caught my eye because it was Peruvian. I had Peruvian once, and it was a remarkable experienced. A friend mentioned the Lomo Saltado, but I ordered the Fettucine Dos Sabores at the remark that the beef was the same as the Lomo Saltado by the staff. Dinner started with complimentary breadsticks and a spicy salsa dip. The breadsticks were okay, but that dip really hit the spot! A better pairing might have been with tortilla chips. After this, I was excited to try the Fettucine Dos Sabores from those Yelp photos, as it looked tasty. Unfortunately, the Fettucine Dos Sabores was not too tasty, and I regrettably label it as the no sabores. Both sides were lightly flavored, and it felt like eating pasta with thick, watered down sauce. I'm not too sure what that green sauce was, but it had a nutty taste, possibly an attempt at pesto. The yellow sauce tasted like nacho cheese blended with tortilla chips... It was not the tastiest combo. The fettucine can comfortably feed two, but after ordering it once, I can't say that I will be bringing a friend or coming on a date for this. The staff were friendly and but on the slower end. There was also no mention of a "convenience fee," and the total was ~$35 after tax and tip.

I ordered for an Easter meal on that Sunday. I ordered: OCTOPUS $42.50 PULPO A LA PARILLA BEEF TENDERLOIN ($28.79) (CHURRASCO A LA PARILLA) SEAFOOD RISOTTO ($24.99) (ARROZ CON MARISCOS) Everything was to DIE for! Everything so tender and juicy! The beef tenderloin knocked me out of my seat! I ended ordering there again a few days later because that's how much I loved this dish!

A shrimp served with the "jalea" dish.

A restaurant shouldn't serve shrimp with the vein (digestive tract) because it can contain grit, waste, fecal matter and bacteria, making the shrimp taste bitter and look unappetizing--reflecting poor attention to cleanliness and quality.

So this location is little slow and parking is not the best with only a few spots but the food is still delicious. Order the lomo saltado or mar y tierra. You get full off all the fries and rice. When the sauce soaks up the rice, oh man it's good. They give free warm bread as the appetizer. The green sauce has a kick so beware.

This is probably the best Peruvian place I have tried They have a few locations and I have been going to the Van Nuys one The service is excellent, and the prices are really reasonable I usually get the roasted chicken and also the seafood soup So fresh and so delicious Give it a try, you wanna regret it

Chio's was a good experience! I had lunch with a friend. The fish ceviche was fresh, the green spaghetti packed with flavor, the Anticuchos very tasty and the Lomo Saltado was really good. The service was attentive, but the atmosphere, while okay, could use some improvement.

My go to ceviche spot in the valley !!! I love the Copa as it has such a special flavor and makes the ceviche unique. Chios is a staple for peruvian food in the valley, the service is always great. Im a regular and highly recommend

We go to Chio's when we want some pulpo (octopus) and their Peruvian meat dishes (lamb and steak). This is our first time in this branch since the nearest one closed (Tarzana). Also went to their other Van Nuys branch before but this spot is less hectic and it was quiet for a Friday night - not sure if it's because we got there before 8pm. First thing - very limited parking - you'll have to snag a spot on the street. There's indoor and outdoor dining. We sat indoor and ordered calamari, pulpo, steak with fries and fried rice with beef. For drinks we got some inka sodas, chicha morada and Maracuya... not sure which one is the purple drink but I prefer the passion fruit one. So we keep going back here when we're craving octopus. I cook different dishes and whenever I go to a restaurant I always tend to order food that I won't cook myself. Octopus is one of those so it's always expensive when you order octopus in a restaurant but I don't mind the price if it's tender and flavorful. Underneath the octopus are some corn, potatoes, shrimps and squid. The sauces - love the green one - I think it's chimichurri. Speaking of green sauces - the one they include with the hot bread is good too. Love it when you get warm fresh bread. We recommended to my son to get the other beef dish that has sauce but he opted for the one pictured below. It looked dry to me but my son said it was very tasty. He cooks and seasons well when he does so I'll take his word for it. We saw a heaping serving of calamari ordered by another diner so we ordered one too. I would say for the price they have bigger serving for the calamari. The mains we've ordered here are about $20-$35+ but can be for sharing. We tend to not experiment with food so when we know what we liked - we tend to go back and order the same thing. Eating out is not cheap these days so why risk ordering something you don't really want. Location is not the best so we will probably go back and check out the new Tarzana location since that's closer. I

This is what 26$ get you plains garbage dnt waste your money frozen pre made fries and bland plain white microwave rice
    Jasmine M.

Deserves zero star this is what a $26 plate looks like Basic premade, frozen french fries, and bland microwaved, white rice This is a lomo saltado plate I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. Tried to give them a second try and it seems they've gotten worse. Take your money elsewhere. overpriced and just a hype. this order comes with bread and I had to tell the lady after checking both orders where my bread was, then she got some plain pizza looking roll no sauces or anything ugh garbage this is not Peruvian food

Love seafood and the whole works. I heard they even offer you a bib, to get messy, which I am so down for. Anyway, same thing happened at this restaurant. A confidential envelope was posted on the door and we were not able to get in. Both sides of the doors were locked. Some other mail was on the ground and 2 were inside the restaurant. I don't know what is going on with both Oliva and this Crab House restaurants? It was dark inside as I snooped to see what the place looked like, was not able to see anything, except one side of the restaurant the chairs were placed on top of the tables. Again, either they are going out of business, or sold the restaurant to someone else. We dialed their number, no answer, left a message (twice), and no one called us back! Even until today. What a shame!! Was so looking forward to it. We were there on the 7th of this month at 12 noon. My friend drove all the way from Tarzana so we could have had lunch, but both restaurants let us down..

I spotted the cafe area where they serve coffees and teas - I made a note that I had to come back to try that. Back to the deli counter - they recommended I try the smoked sea bass since they don't get it in often so I took some of that and a smoked salmon collar. The hand roll bar was empty since it was late in the afternoon but too early for dinner. I promised the sushi chef there that I would return. So I went back today with a couple of friends. We sat at that hand roll bar and had the best hand rolls I've ever had. We ordered a la carte and I absolutely loved those creations - full of flavor, texture - unique and tantalizing! I'm curious to go back and try some of the other things on there like the burger? the shabu shabu? I can't wait to see how they serve those items. Their little market area is fascinating as well - with small bottles of soy sauce aged in bourbon barrels and other delicious sounding ingredients. I did end up taking home a shaker bottle of their house made furikake. Can't wait to try that! I'm so happy this is in the neighborhood. In fact, cocktails are a good few dollars less here than at other places in the area, especially Blvd Steak right next door. My martini was very cold, well-made and of a very generous size, so no complaints on that front at all. My wife ordered the Macadamia Crusted Halibut, with a double dose of starch: mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese. The fish was fresh, meaty and nicely cooked, with a juicy interior and a very flavorful crust. The potatoes also had good flavor, but I found the mac & cheese to be wanting -- a bit too much like the packaged variety. However, my wife really liked it, so what do I know?! For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Louie Salad, a very generously portioned bowl of greens and assorted chopped veggies plus avocado, onion, hard boiled eggs and cool, poached shrimp, all topped with a Louie dressing. Everything was fresh as could be, the shrimp tasted terrific, and the avocado was a nice foil for the onion and chopped carrots. It was a very enjoyable entree salad. Although it didn't really necessarily show up as "the best food in LA area" but all the reviews were so good so I became curious to try. Mainly the reviews also raved about the vibes, services, and live music. Well, they were not wrong! It was fairly easy to make a reservation through Opentable, and I made a reservation for two people for my birthday dinner on Sunday night. I put on the notes that it's my bday so it'll be nice to get a nice table near the stage. I didn't have a high expectation, cos I'd never been to the place and I didn't make a call or anything. But wow, they definitely gave us a great table at the very front! As many reviewers had mentioned, the acoustic of the restaurant is really great. You can barely hear other people's conversations. There's a live jazz band playing, so you can really enjoy that. Although it made it slightly hard to hear what other nearby people say to you either, haha. Our server Dawson was a really great one! Very nice, very informative and just has a great vibe that made you feel comfortable to converse with him. We also asked if he could take a picture of us and he went above and beyond with taking our pictures haha. He took the table lamp as our additional "lighting". Such a great service! Dawson also made a few suggestions on food. We ordered the milk bun (so great!), the tiger prawns tostada (omg, my favorite of the night!), braised lamb pasta, pork belly risotto, and roasted broccolini. Everything was really good and really filled us up! We also got the "smokin old fashioned" and "Wake up and repeat" cocktails. It was plenty of food for us so we asked for a check. Dawson asked if we wanted a dessert but we were already full. He asked if it's ok to give us a lil treat for my bday. It was a really nice dessert :). Oh I forgot to mention that they also put a small bday card on the table for me. The prices of food and drinks are on the higher sides, but I feel like it's worth it due to the live music and the vibe. It easily covers the entertainment part. We definitely will go back and recommend this place for anyone who's looking into a nice date night or to celebrate something special. I was informed that Friday has more of a "party vibe" here, although it's still a jazz performance. Sunday feels more laid back :) Overall I'm really pleased by this place. I used to think that I don't care that much about excellent service as long as the food is great, but I was wrong. The excellent hospitality just made the night even better than expected. Thank you for making my bday dinner memorable.

Definitely swanky but down to earth vibes. I got the rasberry beret cocktail and it was different but fabulous. Not sure how else to describe it. It was refreshing. We got the tiger prawns and it was presented as a toasta, which had a great flavor and texture. The apple salad was also refreshing and a good portion to share between 2 people. The broccolini was cooked perfectly and my favorite after the tiger prawns was the Dungeness crab pasta. It had uni on top! The uni elevated the dish, and honestly there were a good amount of crab meat in the dish. Overall well balanced and creamy. The 2 of us left full and satisfied.
