This place gets a solid 10/10 for me. I am super impressed. First off, service was great. Our server was super attentive and welcoming. They have a nice large outside patio and a lot of tvs so wherever you're sitting you are not missing out on whatever game you're watching. Drinks were fairly priced and made well. Food was top notch though! They have a huge menu with so much variety, literally something for everyone. You cannot go wrong here! Cannot wait to try more items but so far the brisket bbq sandwich has been my favorite, so good. Seriously just as good as if you went to a bbq restaurant. 10/10! read more

A nice bar and restaurant. They have a pool table right when you walk in as well as a dart board. Small area where both the table and board is but it does stay utilized. Most of the times I've been it's always where everyone congregate at. Like the main hub. Bar area is decent size. They have a section where it's like a restaurant and where most of the people would use when there's a big group. Also good for when they have sports on. Outside patio is decent size with a good amount of seating. There's also a television on the patio. So wherever you are, you'll have some kind sports on. It's a neighborhood bar and restaurant which seems to tends to the locals. Everyone seems to know each other. Bartender is alway lovely and sweet. Food wise, we mainly stick to the fires and onion rings. Once in a while a meal. But majority of time is stopping by for a drink or two and winding down. The crowds have alway been pretty cool. I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this bar. During my visit, I was involved in an incident where I was assaulted by a Nigerian individual who's name is remi . Instead of handling the situation fairly or ensuring my safety, the owner, Paul, chose to permanently ban me. I want to be clear that I did not feel supported or protected as a customer. Being removed after being the one affected by the incident was frustrating and upsetting. I would have expected management to take the situation seriously, review what happened, and respond appropriately. Because of how this was handled, I cannot recommend this establishment. Years ago I would come here regularly and everything about it was great. Came back for the first time in a while and service was terrible. There were probably only 8 guests in the whole restaurant and our waitress was largely absent. Once we ordered, she would bring out a single food item and ask if we were all good, and we'd have to remind her of everything else we had ordered. She'd come back 5 minutes later with one more single item and ask if that was all, and again we'd remind her of what our whole order had been. Very odd. I would pass by this place so many times over the years as I'd go to the Van Nuys golf course driving range and it never crossed my mind to stop by to get a meal here until my friend took me here to have lunch last week. One thing is for certain, it's a no frills type of place that's dedicated to providing a laid back atmosphere for watching sports and having a meal and there's a wide selection of alcoholic beverages to choose from if you're looking to having drinks with your meal or just want to sit at the bar and have drinks while watching the game. My friend ordered the Springbok Burger which, according to him, is what he always get when he dines here. I opted to get the grilled pastrami sandwich which was delicious! I would have liked to have gotten the sandwich with a beer and I think it would have been a great pairing but since I was going to be driving back to Hollywood in rush hour traffic, I decided to hold off. Next time I'll come to get a meal and drink before hitting up the driving range. Fun ambiance for a bar-grill place, with great music and people having fun at the bar, watching games of darts or the big screen. Service is great with lovely and cheerful waitresses. The Food is ok; leaves more to be desired. The fish tacos were served plain with no cabbage, cole slaw, not any vegetables, just 3 tiny pieces of fried fish on open tiny tortillas. I asked for sauce, which came 15 minutes later (when I was on my last bite). On the menu, they have Samosas, with the option of beef or vegetable. Each time we come, we ask for the vegetable Samosas, and the server informs us that we don't have this in our kitchen, "but it's still on the menu." The worst of it all was that the establishment adds 20% for Tips to the bill. We thought that was outrageous, leaving us no option but to pay this enormous amount for food that was averaged at best. read more

Came on a Monday around 11:30AM . The first time I came to Springbok about 20 years ago, though I had not been to Sprinbok in several years. I used to visit somewhat regularly in the past. Mostly after work but occasionally thursday nights with friends. Not because I do not like them, but once I moved further north, Springbok was too far to visit after work. Seems they have been doing just fine over the years. I came with my friend who is a regular (when he walked in all of the other patrons knew him). Evidently he doesn't usually come on Mondays because while the staff knew him by name, they were surprised to see him. haha. Our server (breanna i think) assisted. I ordered the Lamb Curry. This was my favorite dish in the past, 2nd to the fish and chips. Quite solid with a kick and overall very good My friend ordered wings & two long islands. His usual order. Sure, it's a little pricey but it's worth it because the staff are super nice and attentive and the service is fairly quick. SEATING: We came here on a Saturday afternoon, no wait for a table. They have a large seating area with 4 TVs to watch any game or fight. They stream rugby, football you name it. They have a smaller seating area with bar seating + a large outdoor patio (which BTW is dog friendly!) FOOD & DRINK: Elevated bar food with a South African flair. I LOVE that about the Bok. I have never experienced a South African sports bar. They have a few traditional African Dishes, as well as Burgers, Wings, fries, Salad. A good selection for everyone. A full bar as well. $8 for a Titos Vodka Soda & $6 for a draft beer. Burgers and fries will run you $14, $17 if you opt for the Kobe beef burger. All their food is really delicious and flavorful. ENTERTAINMENT: $1.00 in quarters to play a game of pool or partake in the 2 dart boards. When there's UFC there is normally a $10 cover and they will have it on the big screens in the bigger seating area. Tuesdays they have Bar Trivia as well. PARKING: Street parking, unmetered And a small parking lot behind with 2 handicapped spots and maybe 10 regular spots that fill up quickly during peak hours.
