So interesting I lived in the valley all my life and zip through this area so much yet I've never noticed or knew that Paragon was at this location. Sick of bad sports bars and even worse food and insane crowds decided to try this place after finding it here. They have a pretty good size parking lot in the back but still only barely found one spot on a Saturday evening to watch the Michigan game versus Arizona. Was expecting a crowd but obviously nobody gives a shit cuz it had about 10 people at all times. Anyways I'm not complaining after that shit show at best ball my goodness. The food was really good had the burgers the wings the fries and the spinach artichoke dip all were very very tasty and will be back for NFL games on Sunday. OMG I have no idea how this got over 4 stars...we went there today and had the WORST tasting food. How can you screw up potato skins and grilled cheese!!! It was so bad. And the chips and artichoke dip was abysmal. I want my money back! There was one server for everyone in the place. There was a group of 15 people that came in after us and there was just 1 bartender...probably 1 cook. The food tasted horrible. And we left without eating any of the food! It was the worst food I have ever had in the past 10 years! And the people from that party left because they said after 1 hour they never got their food so they all just got up and left! They were pissed off they had to go home and make a meal! That is exactly what we did!!! Why would they have just one bartender serving the whole place?? That's insane! Came for Happy Hour. The Service- I liked it! Owner took the time to come over and introduce himself. The extra touch like this is always appreciated. The Food- Was going to order the cheeseburger and fries off the Happy Hour menu but the owner told me for the same price he would make me a delicious smashburger with fries and he delivered. Stopped into Paragon to catch game 3 of the NLCS, and while my hometown Mets were a complete disappointment, Paragon was the exact opposite. The bartender/owner, Alan, was a friendly mensch who poured a good, stiff drink and made great conversation with everyone. The crowd was fun and lively, and all the food that came out of the kitchen smelled fantastic. I wasn't very hungry this time, so I only ordered an appetizer: cheeseburger egg-rolls. It's a good sized portion, and the wrappers are appropriately crispy; the house made fry/burger sauce on the side was also very good, although I would have liked a bit more spice to offset the mayo base. I ultimately added a little Tapatio hot sauce for some extra punch. My only real complaint is that the flavor of pickle was overwhelming the mildly seasoned beef and very mild cheese. A little less pickle would be great for me. I'm not deducting any stars for this, because it's a minor thing that's easily corrected if the majority wants it (and frankly, others might love it as is). I'll add that my last time here I had a burger that was absolutely top notch, with perfectly crispy fries. All the food seems to be great, and I'm looking forward to trying something else next time, which will probably be very soon. read more

What a hidden gem! I was so impressed not only by the menu and food selection but also by the atmosphere. The highlight for me was that the owner himself was behind the bar--and he made me my all-time favorite drink, a Snake Bite, the right way! That alone made my night. The bar had such a welcoming and warm environment. Most of the people there seemed to be regulars, greeting each other like old friends, and it really gave off that family-style, community feel. I've been coming here since September, met the bar owner, bartenders, the cooks and karaoke host. Let me tell you something, talk about family isn't always blood. The place has a chef that makes very good dishes, from burgers, all the way down to the salads. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Beer is always cold, plus they have lots of choice for draft, well drinks, domestic, you name it. I'm a big fan of the micheleads and hot wings. Karaoke is Friday nights at 9pm. We came to Paragon Bar and Grill for brunch right after my daughter's graduation from CSUN. I found the place through a quick internet search and didn't really know what to expect, but I was able to make a reservation online for a party of 13 with no issue. Our reservation was right when they opened at 11am on a Sunday, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves--just a couple of people at the bar. The space definitely leans more bar than grill, but it worked well for our group. Very low-key and relaxed. The menu had plenty of options, which was great since we had a few picky eaters. Everyone found something they liked, and the food was excellent across the board. The service stood out--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We didn't order many drinks, but even so, I was surprised at how reasonable the bill was for such a large group. Only downside: the bathroom could use a refresh. It's what you'd expect in a neighborhood bar--functional but not the highlight of the visit. Would absolutely go back. I've actually been here many years ago for karaoke and drinks which was a blast.... Fast forward to now, it still was pretty great. This experience many years later we stopped off for dinner. It was still pretty early which wasn't that busy. But it did picked up within half an hour or so. The happy hour rush.... Menu, they have your basic sandwiches, salad, flatbread and so on. But it was quite good. We ordered a few items to share and was really good. The blue cheese burger, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The hot wings, of course you can't go wrong with that was also amazing. As well as the flatbread and sliders which we didn't know it was on happy hour. Sliders was amazing, cooked well and pretty meaty. And for 3.00 a piece, you can't go wrong with that. Happy house menu is limited on things but what they did offer was great. Drinks was great as well, pretty good selection on tap. Lastly, the service was really great. Bartender, amazing. The friendliest ever. Pretty cool place for catching up With some friends over drinks and food. More of a bar vibe versus a full restaurant but pretty chill and nice. Will be returning for sure. read more

What a great find!!! So close to home and yet has never stopped by until a couple weeks ago. It was a Saturday night and it was surprisingly quite but the friendly bartender told us that usually there's events that bring in big crowds. We just so happened to go on a mellow night. No problem since they were playing the basketball game and had music playing. Plenty of seating and really clean. Everything was so delicious! We ordered a cranberry margarita and one other tequila drink. Both were crafted magnificently and tasted great without being overly sweet or weak on the booze. As for food we ordered the prime dip sandwich and the smash burger tacos. We didn't have high expectations but wow were these both good! We were really happy with the portions too. Absolutely, without a doubt, my favorite bar in the valley. It's lowkey, they have amazing food options (I love their calamari) and drinks, and weekly trivia. It's definitely not a bar for college students to party in, but they always have something fun going on. My boyfriend and I try to go to weekly trivia whenever we can, and the staff is always so kind and attentive and the trivia host, Walker, is super funny and sweet. My goal is to drink every drink on the menu at least once (not including beer). My boyfriend wants to try all the beers on their menu. I love that paragon is a family-owned business that supports local breweries, as well as carrying all other popular beers. I would highly recommend the X on the beach, tropical lifesaver, and the strawberry mojito for people that like their drinks sweet like juice! For those of you that like your drinks stronger, I'd recommend the candy fireball and the randells cocktail. For anyone not wanting an alcoholic beverage, I'd HIGHLY recommend a virgin mai tai. My first clue should have been the description on the menu "Ahi patty". Not a filet, not a ahi steak but rather a formed round patty of mush and a 1000+ sesame seeds. Due to the blackened sesame seeds that were completely incorporated in the patty it was brown and resembled nothing like a nice pink ahi filet. They describe it as seared rare. Went this place for the first time last weekend. I almost hate to give it 5 stars, because everyone will start going there. But that is what they deserve and what they need, new traffic as COVID almost closed this gen of a restaurant. Met Allan the owner, and Ladonna the bartender. (You can actually sit at the bar in pods.) Allan is the best. Very friendly and proud of the food he serves, based on his grandmother's recipes. On one hand, the menu is pretty casual. Burgers, Pizza, Sandwiches, and then you hit items like, truffle mac n cheese and crispy brussel sprouts! Brilliant. The best thing about the Paragon is the atmosphere. Allan makes the place fun and interacts with his customers. If you could imagine the Cheers Bar and Grill in the valley, it's like that. There is outdoor and limited indoor seating, along with seating at the fully stocked bar. Lot's of fun, great food, and wonderful management that deserves to have his business supported. I hosted a gathering at this place and it was a perfect venue to have a group of 12. The owner and his daughter (or server) was really nice. The food was really good. I had the meatloaf and I LOVED it. Felt like home cooking. Also another thing that I noticed about this place was that it was VERY clean. Don't let the strip mall fool you, this is a hidden gem. This is such a nice family business little location you don't have to worry abouthe problems or drama like you do of some of these dive bars. The owner Allen is usually there and he makes his rounds to make sure that all of the guests are happy! And how can you not be when he offers so many things such as Trivia nights, karaoke nights and more! This is not an ancient business by any means this is definitely 100% family owned. It has been here for under 10 years but it will be here for many years to come or so I hope. With the variety of seating options and excellent waiters are dangerous management and staff.... the service is fantastic! The food offers a wide variety from everything from Middle Eastern to American and offers items pretty much tapping into immaculate flavors from all 7 continents. It can be on the pricey side but the do have appetizers and usually happy hours. The hummus platter is very popular as are the burger sliders I recommend both and beyond This location can be kind of loud at times but it's also very chill other times and what I love the best is that it has really cool lounge areas with power chargers. It was hard to hear myself think as they were hosting a painting party with amplified PA system..annoying. Mushroom burger medium was on the radar, but the $13.50 burger didn't come with fries, so I had to give them a try ala carte... burger slid apart as the bun just wasn't up to the task. Fries had raw garlic and didn't quite live up to the hype. Ambiance is ghetto strip mall, prices were above expectation and food quality, and service was very spotty.
