I recently visited Michiladas Mexican Grill & Bar for the first time, and it was a great experience. Actually stopped in to order something to go. So I went up to the bar to get a margarita while waiting. The interior decor has a vibrant, Mexican style. The bar, which seats about 10 to 12 people, served an excellent margarita. If you're looking for outside seating, they have a covered patio at the entrance. I ordered a combination plate to-go for about $18, which included a chile relleno and a cheese enchilada, rice & beans. The ingredients were super fresh, and the batter on the chile relleno was perfect. The rice was tasty, though I was a bit disappointed there weren't many refried beans--I'd to have a little more. Still, the portion size was what you'd expect from a good Mexican restaurant. To top it off, the bartender and waitress were outstanding. Without any exaggeration, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the valley (and we've been to a lot!). Keep it simple, order their steak and shrimp plate, a side of chile rellano and you're all set - oh wait, definitely some margaritas, but go with the premium stuff;their house margarita is no different than something you'd get at the bar at El Torito. Went for happy hour and left very upset. Got my party to come with me to watch a World Cup game. To our surprise the section for HH was already at capacity. So we sat outside ,and to our surprise there were NO TV's in the patio. I still managed to brush it off because that's out of our control but when we ordered our food I we were underwhelmed, In addition my friend started streaming the game on his phone and was told by our waiter to quickly turn the volume low because "the neighbors complain about noise" a few minutes after that we got the tab (while no one had asked for it) in a way we felt forced to leave. Paid the tab and took my happy self to a place where I felt more welcoming. Will not be visiting this place ever again and will also warn all my friends to NEVER visit. Came here for drinks with friends and really enjoyed myself. My friends and I wanted to catch drinks before heading to another spot so we thankfully found the spot on Yelp and headed over. Micheladas Mex Grill is located in a shopping area. Parking could be tricky but it's definitely worth finding parking to try this restaurant. We sat at the bar and were given a menu of lots of drink options. Service was great and we had a great time having conversations with staff. I ordered the margarita while my friend ordered a beer. I was in the mood to try a new Mexican restaurant that was not too much of a drive. Micheladas Mexican Grill, in Nortridge, had come up before, but not being a fan of Micheladas, I never paid much attention. This time though, I decided to give it a go. It is located in a strip mall on Reseda, that is well known for several eateries and businesses. Because of this, and its popularity, parking is a constant nightmare. Major car gridlock, unhappy visitors. I was lucky to find a parking spot pretty soon without pulling out my hair and having to play musical cars several times. The inside of the restaurant, though small, is beautifully decorated with Mexican crafts, paintings, artifacts and vibrant colors. The music takes you to the wonderful country and what I liked most was, that it was not too loud. Just done right. The menu is extensive, and yes, there is much more than micheladas. There are numerous menu items in all the major food categories and more. An enticing drinks menu is also available. The complimentary chips, with the regular salsa and the by request, habanero, were well prepared. I ordered the one item combo plate and chose the beef tamale, with only beans. The flat long rectangle tamale was presented sitting on the husk and bathed in a red sauce. It was different, not encapsulated, all good. Service, the several staff, was timely, respectful and always attentive. This was a good find. Must come back to try more from the menu. read more

Great local spot! Parking was easy in the shopping plaza. The restaurant was clean, baby-friendly, and the staff was very friendly. Service was fast and the food was delicious. The menu is huge with lots of options. I ordered the shrimp tacos, very generous portions and they came with rice and beans. My husband got the California burrito, which was also a big portion and came with really tasty rice and beans. The chips and salsa were excellent, honestly some of the best salsa I've had. Very fresh and smooth, and not loaded with big chunks of onion (which we really appreciated). They gave us warm chips with salsa (which we love!) while we waited for our drinks. We ordered a couple of sangrias and beers and also shared a plate. All of them were so good! They also have happy hour from 11am-7pm all 7-days of the week! This place is tucked away in a corner of a strip mall (next to Cafe 86 iykyk!) with plenty of parking. Definitely worth checking out. They have a fully stock bar, TVs but unsure if they are closed caption. The music was a little louder than normal, but we were still able to carry a conversation without yelling. The service was good. 1 waitress during lunch hour. She kept insisting if we wanted to order any appetizers. We did have to ask multiple times for refills which she kept saying, I'll be right back. A must try Mexican restaurants. Parking is a bit tricky but the place is worth it. You get fresh chips and salsa upon seating. We ordered the carnitas plate and the carne asada plate. The price was reasonable and the food was delicious. The carne asada was tender, cooked medium as requested, and so flavorful. The table next to us had desserts and if I had room, I would have definitely tried them. The place was clean and beautifully decorated. One small issue that could be improved was the service. Our male waiter was lagging. We asked for more salsa but he never refilled the chips. He never came for refills or asked us if we wanted anything else... until the check time. The food though is another matter, we have been there 3 times and someone in our party always gets sick, the meat quality is terrible. We came 2 days ago as recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint. First of all the place,, place is very cozzy and very clean. Staff were really attentive and very friendly and very nice. Their service is top notch. The food is very authentic in my opinion. My wife doesn't like mexican but on that day she forgot about it! lol! We ordered the steak and shrimp. Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The meat is very tender. Shrimp was cooked to perfection. Their rice and beans were very good too. We also ordered the 3 street taco combo and asada quesadilla and they were excellent. Their nachos and salsa are very addictive. That salsa was fantastic. Portions are really big. The tacos were overflowing with meat. The asada, pastor and chicken were equally good. We also ordered the fried ice cream and banana,,, man that was irresistable! Their prices are very competitve compared to some mexican resto or cantina I've been to. I am starting off with I have never been so disappointed in a Mexican restaurant. The food was absolutely disgusting. Me and my husband both got the same burrito, but I got the steak and he got the chicken. I took one bite of the burrito and had to spit it out. It taste like the steak was cooked in sewer water. Our waitress never came to our table never even checked in on us. We sat there for an hour waiting for them to just give us a checked. And there was not much people in there so it shouldn't have took her this long to give us the check. The environment I would say was mediocre. The parking lot sucked to park. The food here is average. It's not great and it's not bad. The service is slow as they are understaffed for a full house on a weekend. Their pastor tacos used to be good but recently when I tried it the quality had gone down. I wouldn't try it again. I dont know if I will try this place again after dining here a few times given there are many better options nearby as well. You can try for yourself and maybe you may like the food. First time visit to this local spot near my church. Made reservations for the patio. Greeting from servers were very friendly. Inside decor was festive and bright. The patio had festive decor as well. Seated quickly, chips and salsa was brought to us and Drinks ordered right away. I ordered the cucumber margarita. I really enjoyed it. We got table side guacamole and it was delicious and not too spicy. We asked for medium style. Menu was quite extensive. Lots of combos offered. I ordered the three beef flautas plate with rice and beans. It was very good and generous. I took one flauta to go home. Fortino (Forty) was our server and he was very polite and attentive. We got seated got served chips and salsa right away that seemed promising and I soon as I mentioned we were there for happy hour they moved us and seated us in a booth all the way to the end of the restaurant one booth over the one they were using to get their utensils and cups which is understandable maybe they have special seating for happy hour, cool but then they took a good while to take our drink order servers kept serving the area that was not designated for happy hour. I understand it's busy it's Friday but if I have to keep waving you down to get service then that's when I feel like I'm not getting the service I'm supposed to be tipping for. I also ordered the steak and chicken fajitas and kid you not I olny received three pieces of steak. I made them aware and they gave me more but most people won't speak up and it just made it feel like they were trying to take advantage cuz they believed we were drunk (at this point we're were about 3 or 4 drinks in) My husband got the 5 taco plater and all his meat was over cooked and dry. Got a to go order here today. Ordered the 3 item combo, but instead of $20, so $22 with tax it came out to $25. I thought that was odd and asked why. She said she charged me $3 for Mole sauce. I love Mole but she didn't explain this when I ordered, only after I questioned the bill. I thought it over and said, nah, not worth the extra charge, just give me regular enchilada sauce. I told her I'm allergic to cilantro and she replied it's only in the guacamole so I said to leave it out. Tapped my card to pay and thought I was done, then she gave me a slip to sign, and I was a little confused. She said she told the cook to put Mole sauce on one of the enchiladas. Cool, thanks, so I guess she wants me to tip, so 1/2 of $3 is $1.50 so that's what I tipped. I am really against tipping on to go food, but she actually did something of value for me so that's fine. Got my food, went home to eat it. Opened up the taco and it has cilantro in the sauce. Opened up the hot sauce and it too had cilantro in it. Great, now a third of my order is not edible by me. The other food was excellent, lots of shredded chicken so large portions. Moral of the story is to check your to go food before leaving this place. The red flag appeared immediately with the chips and salsa, which tasted like generic, store-bought products from a plastic container. We even requested green salsa hoping for better, but it was equally as bad.The bean dip tasted weird and we were hoping the main course would be better but, the 'molcajete' was a major letdown.it was served covered in foil--something I've never seen at an "authentic restaurant"-- it had mix of bell peppers and onions, and , the sauce was bad. Came here for lunch on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, we asked to be seated outside since we had our dog with us. The man who seated us was friendly, as was the man who brought us chips and water; however, before we were able to order our food, we were asked to leave due to the size of our dog - a young, female cane corso who's about 80lbs. This isn't a complaint about the business, I understand the concern and right to refuse service at their discretion. This review just serves to inform anyone wanting to bring a large dog here, they are dog friendly but not without size/breed limitations. read more

The moment you walk in you're met with beautiful colors, artwork, and my favorite little frogs ranitas. We've been to the restaurant twice and that's always a good sign- when you want to return. On both occasions we were greeted and seated quickly. This last visit, we went in around 6:30 pm and the restaurant was quite empty. We were seated and offered fresh chips and house salsa- which actually has picante and a kick! It's delicious. We placed our order: chicken nachos, taco platter, steak quesadilla and a chicken quesadilla, and a la carte enchiladas. My only complaint is the refried beans are cooked in pork fat which I'm sad about because I love refried beans. Most places have a vegetarian option, but here they have cooked beans not refried beans as vegetarian. The beans are good but not the same. Unfortunately, on our first visit we were not told that, despite asking (as you'll see pictures from our first visit)- which is unfortunate. Might be helpful to have them in the menu. The food is okay and the portions are decent. It was our first time ordering the enchiladas and they were good but the sauces- one green sauce and one chipotle sauce- were a bit heavy. The quesadillas are good, however there was a lot of the tortillas edges not covered in cheese or meat- maybe need to distribute better. The tacos were tasty. The rice was standard. Overall, the food is good. You'll definitely enjoy it and leave full. Honestly, I love the place for the art and chips and salsa. You won't be disappointed in the food either.
