The food here is always really good, which is why I never hesitate to come back. This is their second and newest location, to my knowledge, and it's located on Mason Avenue and Lassen. It's in the parking lot with Starbucks on the corner in Chatsworth, California. I always end up getting the Salpicón Tostada with chicken and no pico de gallo. It comes with lettuce, chicken, cotija cheese, and sour cream on top, with beans spread underneath on crispy tortillas. I always tell myself I'm going to try something new each time I go here, but I end up getting the same thing because the tostada is that amazing. Great service and delicious food are what keep me coming back, and they never disappoint. The place is well decorated, and you can really see the Mexican ambiance and vibe they're going for with all the colors, plants on the walls, and paintings. The parking lot is shared with several other stores, including, I believe, Jack in the Box, Starbucks, and Togo's, so there's plenty of parking and it won't be an issue here unlike the in Reseda where the parking is very tight, limited, and the spaces are very close together. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food if you're in the Chatsworth, California area.

This is pretty much a fast food restaurant but there are some seats. Very busy Lu ch crowd. Pretty much everything is à la cart. Since it's during lent,I ordered shrimp tacos. Value wasn't that great. They do have margaritas with their wine based in machines. Rice and beans were OK, guacamole was good. Not sure if I will be back I think I'd prefer the one in Reseda.

This place serves authentic Mexican food. They have a large variety of food items. The decor was nice inside and there was a nice amount of seating inside as well as outside. The prices are on the huggers in but the portion size and flavors made it worth the money! The staff was friendly and patient with me and my indecision. Definitely worth a try if you are cravings good and authentic Mexican food.

New spot in the area and it's Las Fuentes second location. Over never been to the original in Reseda but for my first time here it was pretty good. It's located in the new shopping center and there is plenty of parking. They even have their own designated parking spots. The restaurant itself is clean inside, nice modern decor, and good amount of seating. You can order at the counter or order off a screen. If you at there, you'll place your order and then they will bring it out to you. They have a salsa bar with a good amount of options- the darker red salsa is the spicy one. I ordered the chile relleno burrito (wet) and the chile verde burrito. In my opinion, if you have the opportunity to make a burrito "wet" do it, just adds more flavor. The burritos were very filling and the price points are good. I will definitely be back to try some more items! FYI- they serve alcohol too

Las Fuentes is the spot for authentic and satisfying Mexican food! The ambiance is warm, inviting and colorful!! You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Indoor and outdoor seating. They have fantastic Huevos Rancheros, Carne Asada Plate, wet burritos and salsa.

Wow!! I'm so happy that this place is near my gym (actually this will defeat the purpose of me working out now...LOL), hubby and I tried here for the first time after leaving the gym for early dinner and OMG...the service here is fantastic! Why? Because they greet their customers with a smile and not only that, when they deliver the food to your table, they wanted to make sure we got the correct order and not only that...as I was taking pictures for Yelp(Hi), one of the guys didn't know I was just taking pictures of the Holiday hours on the wall(the one on the door didn't come out clear, because of the sun), anyways he asked me if I was waiting for my order...how nice is that?!? Other places would have just ignored me and left me standing there. I just loved the fact he asked. The food...Holy Guacamoles!!!! We order a small just to try out and Wow! It was soooo flavorful not bland, not spicy it was just right!! Portion size was perfect and the chips that we ordered, also great portions! And I ordered the Plato De Milanesa, Mmmmmmmmm! Chef's Kiss!! I can't even talk...it was the perfect crispiness, and the meat was not chewy!! Great flavor and not bland. AND...they have a salsa bar! Love it!! It has chopped onions, cilantro, green and red salsa. Just perfection! So yep...looks like I may have to workout even harder in the gym. Great seating inside and out! My hubby ordered the De Carnitas burrito...he thought that was average though.

Ok I love all of their sister restaurants, and I've been wanting to try Las Fuentes other location but since Melanie's is getting remodeled, I decided to try their new location of Las Fuentes. It's very nice inside and modern. Very cute decor and spacious. The food is very good and reasonable! The salpicon tostada is great here too!! I am happy that they have the popular items here like the other restaurants. The service was great and it was good to sit down! They are very clean and make sure to remove the dirty plates. They have all types of beverages and alcohol as well. I will come back asap!! Easy parking too!

Las Fuentes is my go-to for Wet Carne Asada burrito. There's absolutely no better burrito in southern CA I.M.O. Every bite brings not only flavor but peace to your soul. I'm impressed that in this new location I can taste the exact same flavors as the OG Fuentes. This location looks a little more ordinary. No cool decor and tables and chairs. Two stars less for not allowing my dog sit inside in a summer day

Mexican food is comfort food and although I've missed my "California Mexican Cuisine," this came very close. The style of cooking was described to me as Mazatlan cuisine with a few influences from Monterey. Our order included chicken enchiladas and a wet burrito. Both came with Ranchera sauce instead of the roja sauce I was accustomed to. The generous helping of warm, melted cheese and ample portion of shredded chicken made the enchiladas a hit for me. My only recommendation would be to kick up the spice level in the sauce, but one could just as easily take advantage of the delicious salsas on the salsa bar (3 hot & 1 mild). Also on the salsa bar, -- cilantro, onions & lemon wedges. We purchased chips for a nominal fee of $2.50 and received a warm basketful. Beer and wine are available as are "wine margueritas" and mimosas. The service was timely and pleasant. I even noticed the busser checking on food satisfaction and quickly rounding up dishes when patrons were done. Something rarely seen in a small restaurant. Decor is colorful and upbeat! Plenty of reserved parking in front and to the right next to the Residence Inn. There is also a small, comfortable patio with umbrellas. On a side note, I noticed the gentleman next to me had the weekend special - menudo. It looked delicious and both he and his wife said it was "excellent!." Looking forward to my next visit.

I finally got to try this location for the first time. Sister restaurant to Las Fuentes in Reseda and Melody in Reseda. Located in a large plaza with multiple businesses, large self parking lot, near the corner of Lassen / Mason. Great customer service, easy to order. Attentive young guy helped us out. He also took the food to the table. This location did not provide free chips, but do sell them. 1) I ordered the Machaca wet burrito ($11.50 - it's called Machaca but it's actually not Machaca, but shredded beef. Machaca is shredded beef jerky). The wet sauce is flavorful, no rice issued the burrito is a plus. Also upgraded to having rice and beans (+ $4.40). The rice had flavor and the beans were delicious. 2) Also ordered the Chile Relleno (dry, not wet) burrito. The Chile was stuffed with queso fresco). The restaurant was clean. They have Mexican music playing softly. They have an outdoor lighted patio. They also have front reserved parking.

I was craving some Mexican food and my friend mentioned this spot. It's their newer location in the valley. Inside has a variety of tables and outside had a small patio. This is an order up front and they bring you out your meal kinda place. I got two potato tacos (fried tacos) they were huge, lots of potato and the avocado salsa adds a little extra flavor. My friend got the lunch plate, taquitos with a side of rice and chips. They have a salsa bar with different flavors, I grabbed regular and the avocado one. Service was great, helpful with questions and they have a variety of options to choose from.

I ordered a salad but looks like got pico de gallo with some lettuce. Overwhelming amount of pico.

I WAS excited to try this place. Went to the counter to order the two taquitos plate. It comes with sour cream and guacamole. As I am allergic to avocados, I asked if they can swap out the guacamole for more sour cream. They refused and said they can take out the guacamole but they would charge me extra for more sour cream. (a) guacamole is way more expensive than sour cream and I'm doing you a favor (b) no accommodation at all for my allergies???? When I asked again, the cashier said no and when I said I was "out" in that case, he couldn't care less that he lost my business. No emotion, empathy or anything. Just basically a "I don't care bro" reaction. This lack of flexibility and accommodation for a place that is wildly overpriced - two taquitos for $7.75? And then another $4.50 for rice and beans to make it a plate? - is just unacceptable to me. I will not be a customer at this restaurant. Too many Mexican food restaurants in the area to be a consumer at a place with these prices and this poor level of service.

I came for lunch Friday afternoon around noon with 3 others and it was pretty busy as it was peak lunch time. You can tell it's a popular spot. You order at the counter first and then get a spot. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but it was super windy the day we came, so no one was sitting outside. I got the Alex burrito without cheese and sour cream for $13.25. Asked for a recommendation for the meat and was told their al pastor is really good, so I went with that. I liked that they call you as they're making your burrito, so you can customize it further (which kind of salsa, onions and cilantro, do you want it cut in half, etc.). As a picky eater, I really appreciated that. We all got burritos, and one friend paid an extra 3 bucks to make it wet. Chips come on the side, and you can help yourself to salsa at their fresh salsa bar. This is the first taqueria I can remember that has a mild tomato salsa without raw onion and very little cilantro. I was excited to see that finally there's a salsa I can eat. My Alex burrito was one of the best burritos I've had imo. The proportion of meat to beans to rice was perfect and the rice tasted great. The al pastor was amazing: super flavorful and smoky. I usually feel like most burritos taste about the same to me, but I definitely found myself enjoying this one more than usual, which says a lot. Also, they're generously sized here. I wasn't able to finish mine despite my best efforts and packed the last quarter to bring home for dinner. I'd like to end my review by mentioning how polite and friendly everyone was, from the guy taking our order to the guy making the food. I was really impressed by this as well, since taquerias usually aren't exactly known for their service. I can't wait to come back!

My new favorite Mexican spot on the west side of the valley!…read more Love this place! I should preface my review by saying that I only leave Yelp reviews if I really loved, or really hated somewhere (be it a restaurant/bar/store/hotel/whatever). Luckily Chavela's is somewhere that I love!! Chavela's was previously "661 Tijuana Tacos", which my wife and I tried once and didn't enjoy. We went back to give them a 2nd chance, but they still sucked, so we didn't go back again. Around 6 months ago, we noticed that there was a new sign up, so we went in to check it out. Thank god, this was a whole new restaurant with new owners, a new cook, and a new menu! (and not just a rebranding of the old place). We decided to try them and OMG, they're FUCKING AMAZING! Pretty much everything appears to be made from scratch, in-house, from the tortillas to the chips, salsas & guacamole. Since that first visit my wife and I have ordered takeout probably 10 times and have never been disappointed. Customer service is excellent, with friendly cashiers both in-person & over the phone, the inside of the restaurant is clean and well laid out, the menu is simple & easy to read, and their "salsa bar" has a good selection of always freshly made salsas, stays well stocked, and is never too messy. We also appreciate the pricing. Chavela's is about 20% cheaper than another local scratch kitchen Mexican spot, that my wife and I loved, but had to stop ordering take-out from because they were just too damn expensive. Here are my recommendations from Chavela's: - Birria anything! Their birria is PHENOMENAL. And their consomme is *chef's kiss*. One of our favorite things to order (and great hangover food) is their birria quesataco combo + consomme to dip the tacos in. Lots of places that have birria & consomme make the consomme super, super salty, and if they're reheating & re-using it, it makes it saltier and saltier each time. Chavela's makes their consomme in the morning, and when it runs out, consomme is done for the day. If there's any left at the end of the day, it goes home with team members. They don't reuse/recycle consomme to the next day! I also love their birria soft tacos and the birria quesadilla. - Asada & al pastor soft tacos. Soft, tender meats with tons of flavor (onions, cilantro, salsa) on homemade tortillas. What more do you need! Vampiros. FIRE!!! Try them yourself and refute me. I dare you! - Tortas. I've only tried their Cubano torta so far, but it was fantastic (and huge). - Chips & Guacamole. All made in-house, with tons of flavor in the guac, and just the right amount of salt on the chips. My ONLY complaints are that they don't do machaca, so we can't get machaca & eggs or machaca burritos, they don't make albondigas soup, and they don't have any kind of customer rewards program or something along the lines of frequent customer cards, etc. Fingers crossed they'll add all these things in the future! Overall, Chavela's is a great Mexican restaurant that is well worth spending your money at!
