Best beer battered fish tacos I've tried in the SFV so far. So glad we gave them a try. The fish doesn't taste super fishy & the crunch on the outside was perfect. The fish & chips were okay, not much flavor & wouldn't order them again. But their tartar sauce had the perfect flavor to dip the tacos/ fish in and they have good fries to order as a side. Also tried the poke nachos which were a nice appetizer. Service was super friendly and parking is easy to find. It's a little bit of a wait for food but definitely worth it & will be back again

I've been here a few times and the food is always good with fast and friendly service. The grilled shrimp (garlic butter) with salad and zucchini is my go to meal. However, the white fish is really good as well as the Cajun fries . There's always plenty of parking in the shopping center (free). They do have indoor seating but no outdoor seating.

Delicious food and polite service. Ordered the fried catfish and shrimp combo and it was very filling and delicious.

    Salmon over pasta.

In a nutshell - the food was okay, maybe slightly better than average. The cashier was very friendly and welcoming, so that was a plus. The ambiance is virtually non-existent, and actually was depressing. Living in the Southland, we've been spoiled by having some great seafood places to enjoy fresh fish. I appreciate the newer trend of having no frills pescatarian options, but fewer frills shouldn't have to mean no frills at all. I've been in many fast food restaurants with a lot more to look at than this place. And what is up with having zero trash cans inside the whole restaurant? There is one bin outside on the extremely minimalistic patio area. I found that whole dynamic very odd. Dear Hubby and i decided to split one entree of salmon over pasta. It turned out to be a strange flavor choice. Each element would be okay on its own, but together - not so much. The salmon came in two pieces, which made it ideal to split. It was very thin salmon pieces, though. That meant that it had to be cooked carefully not to dry out. It was just on the acceptable side. The pasta was tasty with a marinara sauce that offered good flavors. I would have preferred a white sauce, but have to avoid dairy (sadly!) DH also ordered a side of white rice and another of zucchini. Drink selection was minimal, and fully-sugared lemonade was one of the few caffeine-free options. As much as the goal of this restaurant is to offer healthier meal choices, they could have used better options in their beverage station line-up. For the whole experience, I am thinking that we'll go elsewhere to find fresh seafood, as this place left me feeling flat.

    Garlic butter salmon: EXCELLENT!

The food was so good! I've been trying to get back but it's so far out of my way! On a hunch I tried a local fish grill. I always get garlic butter salmon but I was not expecting this to be so much better than the rest. The secret is the sauce! I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It was a nice portion and came out quickly. The cashier was friendly and the place was well spaced and clean and even offered free water. I will definitely come back when I get a chance. Consider opening restaurants closer to Hollywood!

    Do they have tarter sauce?

Yes for certain fish items like fish and chips it's included but I guess you can ask for it when you are there or order online for any fish you get.

One half of the space is devoted to a…read morefood case where you can pick up several Filipino dishes to eat at the restaurant or to take home. That side is named Kusina Ni Kuya and has a vast catering menu. I came here for a carry out from the Cajun side and picked as I did before, the half pound shrimp. The only difference is this time, I opted for the peeled version. This was prepared in the house Kuya sauce, medium spicy, with an extra of boiled okra. The dish did not disappoint and was consistent in texture and flavor, and a glorious mixture of spices as before. This entrée has a lot of oil added to it, but that is what brings out this burst of taste and satisfaction. Everything was soaked with the thick sauce. This time what I did at home was, I boiled a few golden premium small potatoes with skin, sliced them into quarters and added it to the mix. Once it soaked up the gravy of the shrimp dish, the potatoes ascended to a totally different level. So how does the peeled version compare to the whole shrimp version? I would say that the whole shrimp selection is the way to go. The meat is not overcooked and you get the flavor off the shrimp shells too, that kicks it up more than a notch. In addition, the fact that you have to use your fingers to get to the shrimp meat (though messy), heightens the pleasure of the dining experience.

Let me be crystal clear--Cajun Ni Kuya just embarrassed half the seafood spots out there…read more Absolutely embarrassed them. I went in for the $38.99 all-you-can-eat, and what did I get? Not some sad, watered-down, reheated nonsense like other places try to pass off--I got REAL Cajun seafood. Properly cooked. Properly seasoned. Actually worth paying for. I ordered crawfish, clams, mussels, and head-on shrimp, and every single tray came out piping hot, drenched in that bold, garlicky, buttery sauce that hits you like a freight train. Not bland. Not timid. Not "lightly seasoned for the masses." No--this is full-flavor, unapologetic, get-it-all-over-your-hands Cajun. The crawfish? Seasoned all the way through, not just dusted on the outside like some lazy joke. Other spots--take notes. The shrimp? Perfectly cooked, heads packed with flavor. If you're scared of that, stay home and order chicken tenders. The clams and mussels? Clean, tender, not a single one questionable--which already puts them ahead of places charging MORE and serving LESS. And then the sides--this is where it gets ridiculous. Boiled okra, sweet corn, quail eggs, all soaked in that same sauce? That's not a side--that's a statement. Everything is absorbing flavor like it's supposed to. No shortcuts. No laziness. Just execution. And here's what really separates them from the clowns-- the quality never dropped. You keep ordering, they keep delivering heat. Same flavor. Same intensity. No "second round is worse" nonsense. That's what happens when a kitchen actually knows what it's doing. Meanwhile, other seafood spots are out here charging premium prices for bland, overcooked garbage and calling it "Cajun." Stop it. Just stop. This is how it's DONE. Messy. Bold. Loud. Flavor in your face. Hands covered in sauce. Zero regrets. If you leave Cajun Ni Kuya unsatisfied, don't blame the restaurant--blame your taste buds. I'll be back. And I'm bringing an appetite that's ready for war.

Over the years, the place has a good customer base for good reason. The issue is that they are ALWAYS understaffed. Don't let the hiring sign on their door fool you. Owership intentionally understaffs even when they have people hired to cut cost. They are so understaffed that customers wait over an hour on average to be seated during typical dining hours on WEEKENDS with half the restaurant seating capacity available and unused. Then ordering, the staff is so busy that they do not take in restaurant orders and ask the people seated in the restaurant to place online orders for pickup which also forces you 5o pay gratuity upfront unless you carey cash which most people no logner do then take their receipt to the cashier. Then you have the issue of this rule being selectively enforced. The staff seems to pick and choose who is forced into placing an order online vs who is not. Today we arrived at the restaurant around 6:20pm. Despite half empty, we were seated around 7:45. 10 minutes later of not being aknowledged, i wave a familaor face and he tells me that it would likely be faster if we place the order online. The order was placed by 7:57. it should order compelte by 8:28 but by 8:38 our food had not arrived. i get frustrated and ask what seemed to be staff that was already frustrated where the food is and before i even get to the part that it shows online our food was already served, he tells me: Dude, we are really busy. it will come out when its ready. a few minutes later the food came out and i asked the person bringing the food who us the manager. he said he was and i told him the situation. he took full accountability and even offered a refund saying he recognized we were regulars. i said i recognized him too and said I will not accept a refund. It is not fair to make food for people and not get paid but I told him that that someone whether it was him, the manager before he took over the shift, or ownership is accountable. This type of experience and standard of service is horrible for a business. He kept apologizing snd isnisted on a refund to his credit. I refused but thanked him for the courtesy. I made sure that above all, respect for customers should be prioritized when other service variables fall short. its the one thing that can mitigate this type of feedback and the one person that tipped this in the wrong direction leading to this review was the last straw that broke the camels back. But to be clear this is not a one incident occurence. This is the third and likely final time I come to Tasty Pot.
