The Chef is the new owner and his menu is definitely a delicious twist on local Mexican food. The aesthetic is beach surf culture meets Ikea earthy comfy. They do not offer rice/beans on entrees. Everything is basically ala carte. I had one asada baja taco, an order of chicken taquitos and they were fried lightly and had a good crunch but not too dry which they can be when overcooked. I split an order of buffalo cauliflower and it was so good. The sauce that accompanied it was very flavorful. The winner of my meal was definitely the chimichuri sauce. It was definitely packed with flavor and I put it on everything. I had the special featured strawberry cheesecake recommended by our server. Stopped by and picked up 4 fish tacos and 2 shrimp ceviche. The size of the fish tacos were great. They do have smaller versions for taco night for a lower price. I asked for sauce on side but only received 1 sauce for 4 fish tacos. Don't know if that's normal as it was my first time. So I ate 3 dry fish tacos. That wasn't as enjoyable as it should be because I'm a sauce guy. The shrimp ceviche was a miss for me. Something about it was off. I was expecting something similar to what you get at mariscos but it felled short. Would rather get ceviche elsewhere. Overall it was a 3.5 experience. I haven't been here since they changed ownership. I asked our amazing server Natalie and she said it was the same chef who now owns the restaurant. He actually brought out the cauliflower and was very kind when serving our dish. Cauliflower was amazing! Cooked just right. Not too mushy or over battered. It had a perfect amount of heat with a perfect amount of cotijo cheese sprinkled on. $10 Steak taco was delicious. Tortilla seemed homemade and the chimichurri sauce was amazing. I definitely could have eaten 10 more. A little pricey for a small street taco but worth the price for the flavor. $6 Potato taco was a fried taco with vegan chorizo and plenty of pickled onions on top. I used my friend's salsa from her chicken taquito plate. It was a flavorful fire roasted salsa and made the potato taco even better. $5.50 I only went once before the new owner. I wasn't in love and thought it was okay. I like all the vegan options on the menu. Full of flavor and a fantastic meal. I love that it's close to home and supporting a small business. We got ADA parking right in front of the restaurant. There are other businesses in the same strip mall so parking could be a little hard. There is additional parking behind the building. Everything was very clean. Alex was constantly cleaning the menus when he had a chance. We ate at 5:00pm. The perfect time on a Friday night. There are a few tables outside. Cozy and inviting interior.. Friendly and quick staff, and a very yummy menu. I wasn't able to find a parking spot but thankfully I just did a pick-up order that I placed online. (Small parking lot) I got the baja shrimp tacos and the ingredients topped ontop of the battered and fried shrimp was super fresh! The creamy sauce was plentiful as well as the tomato salsas. It was sadly only one shrimp piece on it.. Like really only 1 piece for 1 taco? I wish there was at least 2 pieces of shrimp. I don't think it's worth $6 that was on DD? Food is solid and they have great specials on Tues and Wed. Usually I get a platter of 12 tacos for ~$30 and you can add on additional guacamole and chips for ~$10-$12. If you want fish tacos there's a bit of a surcharge but I'd just order a small fish taco in addition to the platter. Service is friendly and I've never needed to wait too long for the food. Give it about 15-20 minutes for the platter of tacos to be ready. Great spot to watch a game as the vibe is casual and there's usually plenty of seats. We were so sad to see Lola's Tacos close only to be delighted weeks later when Baja Beach opened. Same chef, nearly the same menu, and same taste. This is our go-to place when we are in town and we have never been disappointed with any of the tacos we have ordered. We got two fish tacos baja style (battered and fried) a grilled halibut taco and grilled mahi mahi. The pictures don't do justice because you can't really see the large fish filet under all the toppings but each taco is a nice helping. They also have some of the best chips and salsa around. The salsa spice will give you a runny nose, which is always a good sign. The staff and servers are always prompt with refills and knowledgeable on all the dishes. The ambience is pleasant and usually parking available right out front. The only ding I can think of is that there are no beans and rice as side dishes but I didn't mind that emwhen the tacos are filling. We can't wait to return. read more

Stepping in, the restaurant was very clean, welcoming and had great decor. My wife had their 2-taco lunch special which is a great value. I ordered the clam chowder and spicy tuna crunch taco. Love this place! My wife and I already have been here twice within 7 days, once for take out and once to dine in. We discovered them by getting a coupon in the mail. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and pretty much everything we've had there has been outstanding. Our favorites are their baja fish tacos, halibut ceviche (was a special), spicy tuna crunch (also has a fried shrimp inside), halibut tacos, steak nachos, guacamole, and chips and salsa (excellent roasted flavor). The only item I probably won't get again is their baja lobster taco, since I couldn't really taste the lobster since it was fried, as are all their baja style tacos. Next time I'll try their sauteed lobster taco. When we dined in, it was on a Tuesday, and they have really great deals then (as well as Wed). It's a very clean and inviting environment, and the people who work there are also very nice! We'll definitely be back! read more

We've dined at Baja Beach Tacos multiple times in the past and the experience had been acceptable and consistent for the most part, but today the experience was different and below acceptable. I've even recommended BBT to several other people, which I now regret doing and will be recanting the referrals. One can only assume that this establishment must be under new management because everything was different from the staff, to the food quality, to the portion size, to the presentation, to the food being served matching what was described on the menu at the time of order. There's a recent new menu that looks like some of the prices have increased as well. So we're paying more but getting less based on today's observations. Essentially it appears the new theme is charge as much as possible and serve as little as possible at the expense of the consumer. Not good for business, we will not be going back. The service was lacking this time. The front of house staff used to be two people running the dining area, hosting and serving. Today there was one guy trying to play both roles of host and server with a full dining room and people seated outside as well. Needless to say service was not great despite his best efforts. The quality of the food was also down. We ordered the fish ceviche and fish tacos. In ceviche fish is supposed to be the star of the dish, but in this case the veggies were the star being as the fish was sparse. The chips served with the ceviche were old and overly salty. The fish tacos were sad. They're now using a single small street taco size corn tortilla, which they've also shrunk the size of the fish down to match the smaller tortilla. They're now more like appetizer tacos at best. I ordered 2 baja fish tacos and 1 grilled halibut taco. The fish tacos were a hot mess with tiny slivers of fried fish looking like someone just chucked some diced tomato at it rather than the advertised cabbage, pico de gallo and cotija cheese. The grilled halibut taco was almost $8, and had a tiny piece of fish that didn't even cover half of the little tortilla, not even a 2" long piece of fish...$8?? This was listed on the menu to come topped with a chimichuri sauce and red onion, cilantro and cotija cheese. Nope, it had some sweet mango salsa on it and again no cotija cheese. Maybe they ran out today, who knows...bottom line things weren't good or presented as advertised. read more
