Wow! Had a good lunch snack by choosing one of their specials infront of the register. It was 3 tacos for $9.99 I believe and me and my friend both ordered one. They take CSUN student discounts too but keep in mind that the discounts don't apply to the daily specials. I think it's great that they have a cheap deal for each day of the week so if you're flexible and on a budget, this spot isn't bad! The staff were quick in making the food and we were able to get our plates right away. The tables weren't all clean but not too messy looking. Lots of seating to sit at. The salsa station is self-serve and I like that they're in squeezable bottles rather than large spoons to pour out salsas into each container. For the price, the tacos tasted pretty good and seasoned okay. The grilled onions on the side were delicious and I found each salsa especially yummy. My son and I stopped after a quick shopping trip to the mall. He ordered the torta de asada and I ordered the burrito. They have an advertisement that tells you the specials for each day. I ordered the burrito since it was the Thursday special. I got charged the full burrito price. After asking, she said to specifically state I wanted the special version of that same burrito so that I would get less meat. Funny enough, I would have preferred a little less meat because that is all my burrito had. Minimal rice and beans, just asada. I honestly didn't care for my burrito and only ate half. My son's torta was a better selection. The location is clean enough and there's pictures with the menu items. In the past, I've had the asada fries and they were ok. Saw this place while passing through at the mall so had to try them out. Got mulitas with chorizo, al pastor and asada. Mulitas are basically mini quesadillas. Kids liked them. They were good and I really enjoyed their sauces. They gave me 3 different kinds and I particularly liked their orange and green sauces. This place could have potential but they need to either lower their prices or give more food portions on their plates. Paid for aguachillies and 3 birria tacos and 2 drinks all came out to be $47, but the food wasn't even worth it maybe if the meat was fresher and the consomé wasn't watery. Also the Aguachillies were way over salted and the portion was very little. Chipotle gives better portions at this point. Overall their service was nice and they even gave me extra taco sauces but unfortunately the food wasn't very good. Maybe I'll give it another try but I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

New to the Northridge Shopping Mall. Mi Ranchito exceeded our expectations. we had: 1. Cali Burrito 2. Carnitas Tacos 3. Torta de Asada prompt service and well served for mall prices. from what i heard amongst the people who work there is that they really like this place. when we visited we were in luck because they had no line but shortly after they became busy. they do have Agua frescas. i had their Jamaica flavor. the kitchen seemed a bit confused as they were receiving the orders from the cashier. salsas were delicious. different heat levels so it can fit anyone's pallet. ill be trying something new next time! read more

It's a shame the staff are rude to customers; the food is very good, but the service is unpleasant. It's a pity for the owner, as he's the one who loses out. His employees, especially the cashiers, are constantly on the phone, and the cook always makes faces when you arrive, even hours before closing time. New Place to eat here at the mall. It's clean and you can tell it's all new. I was greeted and helped quickly on a Saturday.afternoon. The coke machine was down and cashier did not ask if I wanted to buy the "bottle coke". I would have bought that with a cup of ice. That is a loss of sales. Several times the rice is in a cup with a plastic lid. That is a waste because I order to eat there. They could just put it on the plate. Waste of their money. And I keep reading nobody cleans the table. That is absolutely true. And the cashier has plenty of time to come around the counter to clean. That I have seen on all 4 trips to eat. I finally had a chance to come to this place to try it in the Northridge Mall food court. I walked past it a couple of times but never had the chance until today. When I came during the afternoon, they weren't that busy like only 2 people in front of me. I looked at their menu to see what should I get for my wife. I figure she would like the mulita and hortacha so that's what I got for her. I got her the mulita with asada and they only have 1 big size of the hortacha. I saw at the cashier area that they charge a service fee of almost 4 percent on all sales. My hortacha was handed to me first and then I had to wait for my number to be called to pick up my food. There no speaker here so stay near the pickup window. Once she called out my order number, I went to pick it up and she told me all the salsa were in the bag. When I got home, I gave my wife her food and she told me the mulita was okay with their spicy orange sauce. She really like the hortacha more because it reminded her of another Mexican place in Glendale. They give a decent size of the mulita and enough portion of the carne asada in it when I tried it. They give you some radish and lemon as well in the plate. Next time we'll try out their tacos or ceviche. read more

Came here to get a burrito. Went to grab a table and seat and tables were dirty. A man sitting next to me got up and got napkins with sanitizer to wipe down his table for him and his family. I went over to the cashier girl and ask if she can wipe down the tables and she just handed me a towel for me to wipe down my table. I said no to her no, with my hand.
