This place is a hole in the wall. It should be called the restaurant in the parking lot. They have a very big menu with Mariscos. The service was really nice. And the price is great considering how expensive everything is now a days. I got the bacon wrapped shrimp and Carne Asada. It was very tasty. The only thing is that the Carne Asada was flavorful, but very tough. Otherwise, I enjoyed it a lot. I would definitely come back.

The second time I've been here and I loved it as much as the first time. I love seafood so their menu drew me in. First time I came I got the shrimp ceviche which was excellent. This time I got the carne asada plate with shrimp and hubby got a burrito. We loved it! It tastes very good and the price is right. Food is well seasoned too. Plus they are generous with everything, salsa, lemons and limes. I love that this place is close to me and no frills, just good food with big portions.

Went to lunch with a family friend, and we didn't know where to go. Cruising along Sherman Way Blvd, we went to try a nearby Chinese restaurant but they were closed. In that parking lot, we saw the enclosed tent for this restaurant and decided to give it a try! Neither of us had been there or knew of it, but it turned out to be a great lunch! It was a windy day, the enclosure outside kept the dining experience wonderfully comfortable. The staff were personable and friendly, and did a great job of checking on us to make sure if we needed anything else. She had shrimp enchiladas, and I had a chicken taco and enchilada combination plate. The food was delicious. The rice, however, was more of a rice pilaf then Mexican rice but it was still good. Of course, we also had the chips, salsa, and a couple of beers and margaritas! In the area, the this is a good place to grab some eats!

One of the best authentic Mexican style shrimp cocktails around! Period! They also have fabulous ceviche as well. The warm and crunchy tostado is a nice touch. Chips and salsa here are yummy. Ice cold Mexican cokes. Jarritos selection is great, and also ice cold. Ice cold beers. They have seating inside and they do take out / to go orders. During this whole Covid thing they have some limited outdoor seating. The employees are all nice. The owner is a sweetheart and is great with customers. The flavor here drives me crazy... in a good way :-) Check this place out! Add a little hot sauce, lime and a splash of ketchup to your cocktail. It's delicious!!!

Came here with my co-workers and I was a little hesitant at first just because it was empty. I ended up trying the shrimp cocktail and OMG I was very surprised on how much shrimp they had put in there. The taste was amazing and over all a great experience. I would give this place a 10 out of 10. Oh and the portions are huge too. Worth the money, and it's super affordable.

New to the area and was looking for a lunch spot. I'm glad I found this place. Ordered a shrimp cocktail and it's delicious. Will be my go to place for seafood.

It's a small hole in the wall place. It's cute, but don't expect a fine dining restaurant experience. They're currently advertising Dungeness crab at $23 per pound, but you don't know how much your piece weighs. Mine ended up costing almost $70, and it was definitely not worth it. That didn't include any sides either, I had to pay extra to add corn and potatoes. I also ordered garlic bread on the side, and it was the worst garlic bread I've ever had. It was soft, soggy, and had absolutely no crunch to it. The kids' chicken tender meal only came with two very small pieces of chicken. I was expecting more for the price. There was only one staff member serving the entire restaurant, and you could tell she was getting overwhelmed. Overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience, and for spending almost $200, I did not leave satisfied.

We lucked out and got the last booth before the dinner rush. The place looked exactly like it did last time we came. Staff was still friendly. They don't accept cash, only cards/tap to pay. Their menu looked different. Wish I had taken a photo. You have an option to build your own boil by choosing your protein, sauce, spice level and add in's. They still don't allow you to mix garlic butter and lemon pepper sauces. You're forced to get the Kickin mix which includes Cajun even if you're not a fan of that flavor. They also have a kids menu with 2 choices, appetizers and family combos. Always intimidating ordering from a menu that doesn't disclose the pricing up front. That's the weirdest thing. Even restaurants in Beverly Hills have pricing on their menus. We got the family feast which feeds up to 4 people and had a combo of crab, mussels, shrimp, sausage, rice, potato and corn which was about $107. (Side note, they charge 50 cents for a pair of gloves and they do not provide you with a little towelette to wipe before or after your meal) This I have to admit was a pretty good deal considering it's a good amount of seafood. They serve it to you in a large metal bowl. We asked for mild since we had toddlers, but because of the Cajun in the sauce (that they force you to get if you want garlic butter and lemon pepper flavor) it was more of a medium, and the kids could not tolerate the heat. Which wasn't a bad thing since that meant more for us grown ups. Ordered them a side of truffle fries which was not too bad actually. We also ordered some of their specialty drinks which come in huge cups. We tried asking for two small empty cups so the kids could share our drinks, but they refused to provide that to us. According to the waiter, it's the restaurant policy that they can only provide water cups, but we have to figure out what to do with the water inside. (Insert face palm emoji) Also they do not provide buckets for your shells so we weren't sure what to do with all that water but drink it. The cups are thin paper cups to pair perfectly with those gross paper straws. By the time we finished the water the cups were pretty mushy already. Needless to say we couldn't finish all our food so we asked for it to go, reluctantly as we hoped they weren't going to try and charge us for those to go bags as well. Pro's: they brought the food out quickly. The food tasted freshly cooked. Con's: don't know where to begin. Parking lot sucks since it's shared with multiple other businesses. There is no place for you to sit and wait outside the restaurant. You'll need to stand outside by the parking lot and pray you don't get side swiped by some crazy driver. Menu has hidden pricing. They charge 50 cents for gloves and do not provide wipes for after your meal. They don't provide a bucket/container to place your seafood shells so it gets mixed in with your other food on the table. Can't even ask for an empty cup for kids. They don't let you customize your sauces your way. Sad to say after all this time my review for this place is still a solid 2 stars.

This is exactly the kind of small business you want to support. The flavors were unlike anything I've had before, and I loved getting to try something so different. My favorite dish was easily the grilled fish. It reminded me of the Filipino grilled fish I grew up eating, so it had a comforting familiarity while still showcasing its own distinct Indonesian flavors. The balado wasn't spicy, but the sambal definitely was. I also missed having sambal ijo and some gulai gravy, both of which would have made the plate feel more complete. The bakwan jagung had a similarly homemade style. Depending on your preferences, it will either make you miss your mom's cooking or leave you craving a crispier, restaurant-style bakwan jagung packed with corn kernels. The soda gembira, like many Indonesian places here, use Sprite instead of club soda or plain soda water, which makes it far too sweet. The syrup they used tasted authentic, though. Overall, you may love this place specifically because the food tastes like something you grew up eating. However, if your preference leans more toward polished, restaurant-style Indonesian food, it may feel a little underwhelming.

But after more than 4 decades, this hulking structure reminiscent of a New England governor's mansion, has finally found its true purpose: to be the home of Lobster Guys, a Maine-style lobster shack now nestled in the Northeast corner of the facade. In contrast to the immensity of the building, Lobster Guys is a cozy shop with just 3 tables inside and a diminutive kitchen cranking out a mid-sized menu of Lobster Rolls, chowders, salads and a few other sandwiches. What little wall space there is has been deftly decorated with pieces of distressed, seaside bric-a-brac, giving the place a real sense of New England. And with the Summer sun streaming through the colonial-style windows, you really forget that you're dining between a Porsche dealer and a Target. They've got both styles of lobster roll available (Maine, cold w/mayo, or Connecticut, warm w/melted butter), as well as a crab roll and a version that's a mix of both crustaceans. All are served on the traditional, flat-sided bun grilled in butter. I opted to have my roll Maine style with the cold lobster salad, and found it to be a generous portion. The structure of those buns makes it easy to rest the lobster on its top, making the sandwich look fuller than it is -- but not here!! Lobster Guys really gives you your money's worth of lobster, and that's even with their prices running about $7 cheaper than what's offered at some of the well-known places in Malibu. The lobster meat was fresh and flavorful; properly cooked, so the texture was pleasing. I found the lobster salad to have a bit too much mayo, but it wasn't enough to ruin the meal. A lady sitting next to me had the warm butter version, and I think I'll try that next time. I added a small side of French Fries, and they were nicely crisped and seasoned, though the ketchup dispenser was almost out, and what emerged was watery -- but, as there was only one person working the entire shop, I decided to forget the ketchup and just enjoy them "naked." They were just fine without it. If you want to dine al fresco, there are a number of tables outside, situated in spaces within the colonnade. Again, if you face towards the building, you'll feel like you're on the East Coast (if you can ignore the traffic on Ventura Blvd. just a few feet away). In the end, while the food and service could use a few tweaks, this is a terrific addition to the neighborhood, and a place to get a really enjoyable bite that's just not that common in this part of the city. Do go!
