Stopped in on the way home from the FlyAway. Only two other tables were filled. It has a cute party vibe with lots of lights, piñatas, and bright colors. We sat at a booth. The chips, salsa, and bean dip were absolutely delicious! A bit of kick to the salsa. I had a crispy shredded beef taco that came with a side of salsa, guacamole, and sour cream. The meat was flavored so nicely and the guacamole was fresh! I absolutely loved it! My son had the Supreme wet burrito with cheese melted on top. He also loved his! Service was very slow, but our server was polite and everything came out as ordered.

    Quesa-Birria Con Consome (Serves 2)

The food took ages to get to us and all we ordered was esquite (corn) and a quesabirria (both on the appetizer side). We were originally talking about coming back because the vibe felt nice, even though empty, but after waiting an hour we finally received our food. Unfortunately the cheese on the esquite was bad and the server was trying to convince us it wasn't. I'm mexican and love esquite, I know how it should taste. The quesabirria was not bad but not worth waiting an hour for. I think it has potential, just not a great experience for us.

    Burrito dry. Bean and cheese.

Absolutely delighted with the food. Will be back! Lived in walking distance for 12 years! Never knew about the place until my wife told me last night. I don't wait for her to get home from work. I went. So gooooood. And Juan is the best! Good price too!

    Good chips. Warm and crispy!

In all my years I've never been here. I really never think about this place. I see it's been taken over by a new owner and they hit the reset button. On this particular afternoon the Queen of Reseda and I were in search of lunch. No parking at Melody's plus it's gone down hill of late so we moved on. Driving up Lindley headed towards Micheladas Mex Grill I say to my wife, you know we are just about to run right into the Tortilla Inn. Taking a chance I pulled in. I don't know about this place I said. I'm going to take a quick peek at Yelp to see the latest goings on.... It looked good enough so off we went. It was nice in there. The wife said it looks cute. Our waiter was nice. Good warm chips, fresh salsa and bean dip hit the table next. Nice Mexican music is playing. Just a few people there. Since this was our first time I decide to just go for it and order the three item combo. Crispy Beef taco, Cheese enchilada, Chile relleno, rice and beans. Only $13.99! Woo hoo! The Queen of Reseda did a two item combo, Chicken taco, Cheese enchilada. First off, the tortilla chips, salsa, and bean dip are all great. When the food comes out I'm impressed. Not Foo Foo Mexican food. Good classic old school Mexican food and everything was delicious. The Beef taco was crispy with tons of prefect shredded beef. It was served hot and we had a great lunch. We finally found a nice sit down Mexican restaurant right under our noses. We will be back!

    Premium Cadillac, Betty recommended!

Finally great fresh nachos with a fiesta platter and finally a huge drink that's worth paying for. The quality of the salsas and the ranch dips Betty the waitress brought me were cold and delicious. Happy hour on a weekend is the best.

    Botana de Mariscos. Yummy.!!

We decided to come back with friends but on a Wednesday night at 6:30 instead. Sat at a table in the area where the music was but it was very loud and tightly packed with tables and guests. I could barely hear my friends due to the loud conversations, loud laughter, and just the acoustic affects in the restaurant were bad from that. We ordered steak, sides, and thought baked potatoes but got mashed instead. After we ate dinner we asked the manager if we could seat outside for dessert instead due to the loud noises around us. He brought us there but we had to wait at the bar outside till we were seated took an additional 15-20 minutes. After seated it was better than inside with a nice decor too instead. Dessert was ok service good. For such a high-ended restaurant and pricy food it's only avarage, inside decor pretty but very and tightly packed with guests and loud especially for a week day night kind of unusual, I was disappointed think it's a bit overrated sorry to say. I think Flemings, Ruth Chris, or Morton's are better food wise for the same price and dining experience and not as loud too. Think what could make it better is to thin out the crowded packed affect in the main inside dining area would help a lot too, or, if we ever go back sit outside instead I recommend. The service and staff there were very nice, friendly, and attentive and worked hard during service though. So overall raiting is a 3. Tuesday music night inside was good though think because the band is set up where tables of guests would be so less talking and guests listening to the music instead. Hope they make some changes to there inside seating there for improvements will and could help overall.

PARKING valet is available, but we found street parking on ventura blvd. FOOD 01. squash blossoms ($21 for 5 pc): 8.3/10 these were crispy and light, delightful to eat on their own without the tomato marinara sauce served on the side. casalena's squash blossoms had a strong, lovely hint of lemon that wasn't present in mother wolf's rendition. 02. chicken piccata ($29): 7.5/10 this main was served with a generous helping of potatoes mashed into a delicious velvet. 03. vodka lumaconi ($25): 9/10 this dish was the standout of the evening! the pasta shells were cooked al dente and coated in a slightly spicy, perfectly savory vodka sauce! casalena does not skimp on the sauce in any of their dishes! 04. tagliatelle ($29): 7/10 this pasta dish was not nearly as impressive. 05. tiramisu ($15): 7/10 since we mentioned the dinner was for a special occasion in our reservation, this dessert was served with a candle. while its presentation was lovely, its taste was underwhelming. the espresso was extremely subtle, and there was more madeline than mascarpone/cream. overall, our party of 4 was fully satiated after splitting 1 appetizer, 3 mains, and 1 dessert. service was lovely throughout! and as another yelpie mentioned in their review, their matchbook is very nice.

I've only been a small handful of times since 2021, but was nice to come back in again on a date night. This long-standing all inclusive lgbtq+ space is celebrating their 20th Anniversary this week as well as the birthday of one of it's awesome bartenders ChrisTopher, who served us up some great drinks tonight. This dive bar meets billiard bar meet karaoke lounge (two nights a week - Sunday and Thursday) meets double patio areas and more is a neighborhood favorite. When I lived down the street it was one of my favorite places to go whether walking along Reseda Blvd up to the street entrance or down Hart St to Canby Avenue through the patio and back door/main entrance via it's shared parking lot with neighboring businesses including a large music studio in an industrial-esque neighborhood block. There's plenty of parking between the lot and along Canby without restrictions, but also metered parking on Hart St and Reseda Blvd. It's a little more than a mile up from the Metro G - Orange Line and also rideshare friendly (back entrance drop off and pick up is often best as the front door is typically closed and/or locked at times. They have restrooms for all genders, remodeled and upgraded. Tall tables inside with seating as well as bar seating on all ends of their double sided bar. Drinks are a little more than your dive club prices, but loaded and generous portions. One downside is the AC system which is not powerful at all, and with the back doors generally open letting out in contained cool air it can be humid and muggy inside. It definitely cools off at night and in cooler months. They've made a lot of updates and small renovations, but the AC not so much. They have so cool themed nights like goth night via Club Caelum, drag events, drag race viewing Fridays, go-go dancing nights, competitions, Sunday BBQ and more. The area is quite beautiful outside with the flowers overflowing at the bar. Nice outdoor patio with covered tables seating.
