Re-re-return to C-Frenz, a very spacious bar nightclub in the heart of Reseda in the San Fernando Valley. I've only been a small handful of times since 2021, but was nice to come back in again on a date night. This long-standing all inclusive lgbtq+ space is celebrating their 20th Anniversary this week as well as the birthday of one of it's awesome bartenders ChrisTopher, who served us up some great drinks tonight. This dive bar meets billiard bar meet karaoke lounge (two nights a week - Sunday and Thursday) meets double patio areas and more is a neighborhood favorite. When I lived down the street it was one of my favorite places to go whether walking along Reseda Blvd up to the street entrance or down Hart St to Canby Avenue through the patio and back door/main entrance via it's shared parking lot with neighboring businesses including a large music studio in an industrial-esque neighborhood block. There's plenty of parking between the lot and along Canby without restrictions, but also metered parking on Hart St and Reseda Blvd. It's a little more than a mile up from the Metro G - Orange Line and also rideshare friendly (back entrance drop off and pick up is often best as the front door is typically closed and/or locked at times. They have restrooms for all genders, remodeled and upgraded. Tall tables inside with seating as well as bar seating on all ends of their double sided bar. Drinks are a little more than your dive club prices, but loaded and generous portions. One downside is the AC system which is not powerful at all, and with the back doors generally open letting out in contained cool air it can be humid and muggy inside. It definitely cools off at night and in cooler months. They've made a lot of updates and small renovations, but the AC not so much. They have so cool themed nights like goth night via Club Caelum, drag events, drag race viewing Fridays, go-go dancing nights, competitions, Sunday BBQ and more. C Frenz has ended. Been going there since the late 80's when it was Incognito, then Bananas in the 90's & finally C Frenz since (aprox.) 2005. There were good times for sure but the bar, especially prior to covid was always dominated by cliques which did not make it an inclusive atmosphere for all...& many people stopped going. At one point it was very high school with a mean girl vibe. It's sad that with karaoke & the VR room (that was shut down) the vibe seemed way more inclusive in the last 3 years. I wish there could be another West Valley bar that is inclusive for EVERYBODY & not dominated by cliques that seem to think they can take over. Just my thoughts. M. read more

CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS IF YOU GO HERE I was charged, and the payment machine they use failed when I was charged. So he restarted it. I immediately checked my bank and showed the payment was pending. Bartender said that it wasn't charged on the payment systems end and showed me the proof. I removed my tip the second time I was charged just in case and he actually increased my bill to what it would have been with the tip. 1 week later, I was charged twice. Now I have to start a dispute with my bank. Place is chill and doesn't get crazy for the 3 times I've been. Very large bar with a VR room. read more

I love me a good gay dive. A divey local SFV spot with 2 pool tables, sadly the dart boards are currently out of commish, Karoke on Thursdays and an awesome outdoor patio with colorful paintings throughout. Came here on a Weds night for a few drinks and some pool. I will say they need to upgrade their pool cues cuz 2 outta the 5 had busted splintered tips so it made playing harder. If you are a hard-core pool player, I may not recommend coming here to play specifically, but just for fun their tables and equipment do the trick. Once you get a few drinks in you, do you really care how well you play? Super friendly attentive bartenders Drinks are STRONG and will run you on average $8 It was pretty dead until maybe 930pm, and then started to fill up. I would LOVE to come back when my Queens are there! It is very divey, a tad dirty, and definetly needing some upgrades, however. It's a cool local gay friendly watering hole to enjoy some drinks with friend with hardcore porn on the tvs and a song in our hearts. Nothing fancy. Overall CFrenz is a place to come for a few drinks, be fabulous and chill out. I will update my review once I partake in their karaoke or drag nights! The only gay bar for miles and it isn't much. There's a couple of pleasant outdoor areas. The drinks are just a tad over what one would expect to pay in a dive like this. See photos. 2. Inclusive af, Including the toilets! Yes, a glow up, is needed, but certainly their wear & tear demonstrates the inclusivity. 3. A DIVE BAR standing, representing, and being a water hole for the queer community of the valley for 30+ years. What Cfrenz is not: 1. Phobic in any way, shape, or form. 2. A place that has ever, or will ever bully any persons for the sake of a review. 3. A bar with political views, in my experience. This bar is different than the other gay bars in Los Angeles. I would describe it as a very chill and divey bar. In recent years, I've noticed that a lot of local talent has been reviving and planning events here. Bartenders are always fun to look at and the drag queen shows here are always fun. The front entrance patio was redone before COVID to be more spacious and have more seating. They also have a Touch Tune jukebox for your musical preferences. C-Frenz is a much needed Gay meeting/watering hole in the northern San Fernando Valley. It has a kick back patio in back & a rather large oval shaped bar, small raised platform stage & floor for same sex dancing. Small parking lot in back...probably better to find street parking. I've only come on laidback Saturday afternoons so it basically gathers a local, mellow group. I find C-Frenz at this time to be a good place to have a drink poured by our friendly bartender. Happy Hour drinks can be just $3 for a mixed well drink. There is no hyper sophisticated mixology so don't expect macerated fruits, months long fermented infusions of liquors, nor esoteric liqueurs. Music is not incessantly loud at this time. Much of it is old school going back to the days of Madonna & even Donna Summer. In fact, C-Frenz seems nostalgically retro. If you want a more leading edge, forward looking Gay night spot, going to Weho may be a better alternative although that would be over an hour away on our ever congested not so free freeways. 4- Yelp stars for providing an essential service to the Gay Community in the San Fernando Valley. Not all cool things fit a certain mold. It's dive-y but fun. It's quiet but loud (during drag numbers). And, after the cover (so 1996) it's worth coming as a group. Plenty of space out back to enjoy cheap drinks. My only semi-complaint is I've seen someone smoking crack out back while the bouncer/security was close. It took them seeing the crackhead make a few people uncomfortable before helping them out the door. Also, pot smoking; not everyone likes it or are allowed around it. It would be nice if the staff asked them them to smoke it off premise and let them back in after - no need to make anyone uncomfortable. Just be considerate and let everyone enjoy instead of forcing those who don't partake have to move. In any event. C Frenz is fun. A few minor changes would really make the place shine! read more

A gay bar? In the valley?!?! My friends and I had to check this out. We went on a Thursday night and didnt expect many people, and thats what we found. A pretty empty place. But it was still a great time because we sipped on super strong and yummy drinks (apple martini!) while catching up. That night also had free juke box and pool. Although we only took advantage of the tunes. The bar tender was super sweet and told us that theyre much busier on Fri/Sat. Theres plenty of dance space and even a curtained room with couches. Who doesn't love gay bars and cheap drinks! This gay bar is the only one in the valley that I know of. The drinks made by Memo are always reasonable and strong. Memo is a real cool and nice bartender. The atmosphere is rare and different each time. This bar is really relaxed and fun. They have both indoor seating and outdoor seating for your preference. Free popcorn!! (But, who knows how many dirty hands been in the machine) I do think this bar needs "bar rescue" the show to help them. This bar needs major improvements in the restrooms, pool tables and the decor. It feel a bit dirty, but it really doesn't bother me. If you need a get away from WeHo this is the place to be. They don't seem to be service dogs. It was 7:30pm when I got here and this dude was drunk and walking around singing into a microphone (not turned on thank god) and annoying most of the 9 people here. Bartenders are rude, unfriendly and unprofessional. I have waited a while to post this review because I know sometimes as a new bar patron we might be treated a little different than the regulars especially at a gay bar. The first time I recall going I was waiting at the bar to get drink there were no other bar patron waiting and no one would help me unitl another person came to bar and stood in their "line" which was just two red pieces of tape on the floor that no one can see. So they help this person first because he was in "line" and I was not. I didn't think anything of it I mean one of the bartenders could have come up to me while there was no line and told me "next time make sure to wait in line" but they never said anything. The second time I went it was a little busier by then I knew there was a "line" for the bar so I went and stood in it and waited. Not once did any bartender even look in my direction. They were off helping everyone else that was not in line and just came up to the counter. When I brought this up to their attention they just gave me blank stare which obviosly meant they did not care. I've noticed that they have a double standard, they let their regulars get overly drunk to the point where they act out and break glass and they don't tell them anything and when it comes to a non regular patron who is a little over drunk they want to immediately take action to kick them out. Over all I have not had a pleasent time with the bar staff the only reason I keep coming back is because of the cheap drinks, the good size dance floor and the pool tables. I kind of love this spot. I have been twice, on vacation visiting family in the valley. And both times I guess I was feeling like going to a gay bar at 3pm... which is freakin perfect for C Frenz. Apparently there's a sweeeeet happy hour for a few hours when they open. I got a really solid buzz on before 5 and for less than $20. Sheeit, some people's standards are just unrealistically high... this is a gay bar in Reseda, for fuck's sake! Heyyyyyy! Queenies everywhere. Not many hot lesbians to check out, if one is so inclined. Awesome gay manporn on the TVs over the bar. Occasionally there are dancing boys, too. Decent beer selection and lots of alcohol. Good prices. Pool tables. What's not to love, right? I've come to this bar with a lesbian friend, who doesn't understand my fascination with the manporn, and with a Muslim friend, who ordered a soda, sat staring up at the "film" playing, and asked me, "Why is this kinda hot?" Yeah, it's a trashy gay bar in Reseda. Which is perfect for Reseda--and for me. Not too expensive, not too cheap. There are some lingering older creepies, but that happens at any bar, gay or straight--and most of the time without the added bonus of getting to watch guys ram each other on the television. Chris has been there for years. I haven't been in a while but I have the best memories here. It's a great day dive bar. Everyone is very friendly and I really used to enjoy Sunday drag night.
