The Bullet Bar in NoHo East/North Hollywood, Los Angeles has been around for 40 years and owned by the amazing Michael Lara for the last 25 of those. As a longstanding all welcoming gay dive bar The Bullet has seen a lot of changes and growth including expansion to the patio area which holds several monthly themed nights and event including those with vendors, giveaways, demo and small shops. I would more than consider myself a regular usually stopping by at least once a week if not more. Enjoying my karaoke Mondays with my friend Benji and company with the amazing KJ Colin (tip your host). Flirting with my favorite bartender Kirby who host month Tuesday events including a special valentines inspired night this week. Drag Bingo Sundays are a must with either Roxxy Mountains, Volta Charge or Vi Agra (aka Sammy) who also makes great burgers on Sundays - I usually go the meatless route but load up on toppings and condiments as it's all complimentary (tip your cook). Events and themes range throughout the month, but several that are weekly. Friday nights and Saturdays tend to be the most packed as they'll open up additional bars in the front and back patio areas. Being a first name basis with the vast majority of the Bullet Bar crew including Adam, Tyler, Wiley and Fernando who are all great definitely makes it feel like a second home even on chilly nights or rainy days. On colder days/nights they have a powerful heater inside, fire pit + heat lamps outside. You can enjoy billard at the pool table in front, "Get Up On The Screen" with the #BulletBarLA (you might see a familiar face) including yours when you share you photo or video on Instagram or Twitter. The drink prices are incredible with a full bar and they have weekly specials on quite a bit. Good beers on draft including Bud Light, shock top, stella and a few others. Hard Seltzer, Hard Cider and Wine as well for non-beer enthusiasts. Typically they don't serve any food here throughout the week, but outside food is welcome or eating beforehand or after - you can sometimes catch food carts in front. The Bullet is a safe space and partners up with several promoters and services in Los Angeles. You can often get covid or HIV testing as well as vaccination services on select days and times. It's become a good mix of all ages, but definitely has it's veteran crowd. Usually never a cover unless an event night specifically including annual chili cook offs, mac and cheese cook-offs and/or nsfw themes (it's an lbgtq+ 21 & over bar) not for everyone but open to them. Stop on through 7 days a week, chances are you'll see me there... Even if not in-person lol.

The owner of the Bullet allowed us to park our Harley Davidsons right out side the front door!

We highly recommend this bar. The old school, gay men's, Levi, Leather, cruise bars are a rare thing these days in the gay community. Most "leather bars" are rubber harnesses, fake leather, trendy nonsense. Not this place! It's dark, loud, smells of hot sweaty MEN! Cigars! Strong drinks! Friendly guys, and great service are all found here. My Husband actually is from NoHo and spent a lot of time here. So after he moved to Texas he had to show me this place. We came home to LA to vacation and brought our Harley Davidsons. The owner was so accommodating by allowing us to park right outside. Sock night was wild! I'm a native Texan and NEVER done anything like that before. What a great night. We did try other "Levi bars" but left them early to come back here. We personally want to thank the owner and front bar tenders for being so friendly and accommodating - you now have two loyal customers when we come home to LA from Texas. Thank you again for the great memories Marcus and John

The Bullet Dive is a whole vibe Always love a good dive in SFV that makes you feel welcome. A gay bar, geared more towards the male, vs female pursasion, but always a blast! Majority of regulars are men in their 40s and 50s, but has a great mix of all sexual orientations, races, ages, it's a great enviornment. I am always here for Saturday afternoon day drinking and Drag Queen Bingo. Strong, cheap drinks ($5 well, $4 beers) Free Bingo Cards & Dollar store prizes, what more could you ask for?? Fabulous, raunchy, hilarious Drag Queens calling out Bingo between 2-5pm with a few performances in-between (Shoutout to VoltaCharge) You can bring in your own food, nothing is offered here This week, a regular brought in cupcakes for the entire bar for another regulars birthdays (it's that kind of great family feeling vibe that keeps me coming back to the bullet) No parking lot- Surrounding street neighborhood free parking No cover Small indoor seating and bar (maybe 3 tables and 10 bar stools) Larger outdoor patio with 4-6 tables under shade They offer Drag nights, Happy Hour, leather and themed nights PSA: the entertainment on the tvs are NSFW if you catch my drift, so for those sensitive, be warned For those, not so sensitive, The service is great, everyone is so amazing and friendly. It's always a blast at the bullet!

Had a great time at The Bullet for Karaoke on a Monday night. It's a tiny dive bar with a spacious back patio and fire pit! Lots of TVs everywhere that display the song lyrics for everyone to sing along with. They have big pours and friendly bartenders. KJ is super personable, entertaining and did a great job on keeping the party going! The community vibe here is super strong and everyone I interacted with was very friendly. I love seeing all the regulars get up on the karaoke stage and completely SLAY. You can select pretty much any song you want. There was a nice variety of people singing show tunes, metal, pop songs, and 80s songs. They also have a game where you will get bumped to the top of the list but your song is chosen for you. My stage fright could not handle that, but such a fun idea! My only issue was that some of the chairs inside were broken and I nearly fell off of one. There also isn't a of seating overall. All in all, a good experience for a night out with friends.

A very pregnant Roxie running "Bullet Bingo" today!!! Today is nice and cool so come on down!

We wanted a fun night in the valley so our group decided to give this nightclub a try. Especially…read moresince Friday was advertised as a throwback hip-hop night! We reserved a table for our large group of 16 and we were informed that it would be about $150 for the table. We were told it would include a bottle of prosecco and automatic gratuity. But we were warned that if we showed up after 10, we'd still have to pay the cover charge ($5). The inside has low lighting and there is a security guard posted at the entrance. The spot is surrounded by a couple of fast food spots, like the dog haus. And, of course, a taco truck and hot dog vendor show up later in the night! I appreciated that the music was at a good volume; I didnt have to scream to people to get them to hear me. They have a water station conveniently located at the bar. The drinks were great (they've got happy hour prices before 10). And its pretty empty until after 10. I enjoyed my margarita and the Mexican candy shot that I was able to request to have made. Honestly, the drinks were awesome! Since some people from our party werent able to show (down to 11), we were able to ask about the smaller group table, closer to the bar. Our original table was in the back, after the dance floor. Its great if you want to be isolated. Our table ended up being $100, probably cause we didnt get that promised prosecco and it didnt have table service, which worked for us. We had fun dancing. Even though, the music being played wasnt what we consider as throwback hip-hop/reggaeton. The bathrooms were pretty small, with an odd layout (a step before the two stalls). I'd check this nightclub out again!

Will definitely be coming back! Cute ambiance and very friendly and accommodating staff!read more

The bartender was very personable and able to keep up with everyone and didn't leave anyone waiting to get a drink. This is a dive bar with a solid drinks selection. My wife ordered a Coke since she wasn't in the mood for anything alcoholic. There were some interesting characters day drinking, and it was great people-watching with lots of regulars. The interactions were priceless. The bartender asked a regular if he'd left his helmet, and when he showed it to him, the regular quipped, "My head is bigger." The helmet looked like a kid's size, and the guy did have a small head. It was a funny interaction in a room full of characters, like something out of "A Confederacy of Dunces." The bouncer checking IDs outside, sporting a Santa hat, noticed my wife's upcoming birthday and wished her a happy birthday. It was a really nice touch! We will definitely be back for drinks and to people-watch the interesting characters!

No problem... except no one came to us for ever. We were maybe 1 of 4/5 tables in the place. Finally we flagged down someone who got our drinks going. Looks like he was the bartender - bar did have people too. Took awhile to get some food going as well, but we did eventually. Staff was friendly, so other than the waiting, it was a great time. Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)
